neutral · AI labelView post →Because it is spooky month, a horror movie take. Imo the Paranormal Activity movies are incredibly boring, because the premise of horror from the point of view of a security camera works better as a game than as a movie. Having some actual urgency while looking at the camera footage makes it scary.

Hoping this one is better. At least the poster is cool ⛄️🩸 #100HorrorMoviesin92Days #NW Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin (2021) 🎬

neutral · AI labelView post →The film that scared me the most was 'Paranormal Activity'. It was the simplicity and how it opened the door and let your imagination do the heavy lifting. The scariest book I've read of late is 'Incidents Around the House'. It put me in touch with the child version of myself that was afraid of everything.
neutral · AI labelView post →I just watched Paranormal Activity for the first time. I watched it with the alternate ending first and then I went back and watched the theatrical ending. I think the alternate ending is objectively better whereas the original is kind of cheesy. The original actually made me jump though so I can't argue with its effectiveness. I see there is seven of these movies. Are they actually worth watching? As for movie one, pretty good. It creeped the fuck out of me.

positive · AI labelView post →For me it's the movies where you can't see the "monster". So, Paranormal Activity and The Blairwitch Project are among my favourites.

Would that make it scarier (no longer fun), or scarier (even more fun!!) this time around? It's option B, baybeeeeee! Reach those new psychological depths, Toby my boy

neutral · AI labelView post →I admire the Paranormal Activity movies even tho most of them are crappy if only because they do care about the production side of things: Paranormal Activity 5 is all about the cult tricking some guy into editing the first movie, answering questions that found footage most often chooses to ignore.
neutral · AI labelView post →Sunday night movies gets ready for Spooky season with the Paranormal Activity films! Which is one of my favourite film series, but in very me style I'd say maybe 3 of them are great, a couple OK and the rest terrible. But you can't hate a series that makes this its Jason Voorhees.

As Above, So Below? The Cleansing Hour? One of those probably has a shit score somewhere lol. EDIT because I realized how lazy I was being: Insidious has a 66% on rotten tomatoes Paranormal Activity 2 has a 57% As Above, So Below has a 29% The Cleansing Hour has a shocking 73% So my answer is As Above, So Below. neutral · AI labelView post →That's how I felt about Paranormal Activity. It was like I spent the entire movie waiting for something scary to happen. A thing just... stood there. Every "night" on screen felt the same: a being... just standing there. Not standing there sharpening a knife. Not standing there ominously stroking people's cheeks. Nothing attacked or even made threats to do so. It just. fucking. stood. there. Then when something *finally* started to happen, the movie ended. I don't know if my standards for…

So I recently decided to watch Paranormal Activity, a horror film that usually would have me curling up in a blanket at the ungodly hour of 3am that I started watching it, but I heard "demon" and all I could think was "pffftt the Winchester brothers would need just 20 minutes to get rid of that thing" and then couldn't take the movie seriously after that, so…

positive · AI labelView post →Watched the film PARANORMAL ACTIVITY for the first time and was shocked to learn that the titular activity is caused by a demon. I'm not I'd class that as "paranormal" per se. A ghost is paranormal, a demon is theological.

positive · AI labelView post →Depends on your definition of "works out." If all you want to do is get your little movie made so you can learn about all the moving parts that go into it, and get it out there where people might find it, then everyone has all the elements needed to do that, except a script and actors. My son and I talk a lot about the costs of films these days, both the actual shooting, and the promotion that follows, which often doubles the coat of the film, making it even harder to be profitable. It is…

Liminal spaces aren't places you really get comfortable in; they're places you pass through or only stay in temporarily, like hallways or hotel rooms.

positive · AI labelView post →Say what you will about the Paranormal Activity movies, I respect the hell out of them committing to the "found-footage" style and have to go to insane narrative lengths to justify it. I mean they made a 3D found footage movie and I respect the audacity of that.
