unlabelledView post →ok can we please invent a word like ‘soulslike’ or ‘roguelike’ but for games like Outer Wilds and Obra Dinn because it is clearly the best video game genre and should be quantified accordingly
unlabelledView post →Oh my GOD I just beat Outer Wilds and holy shit. What an ending. One of the best games I've ever played. One of those times a game rises above being just a game and becomes a story worth remembering.
unlabelledView post →This game... holy shit. If you like Outer Wilds, or Obra Dinn, or any other games that require thought and patience and a notebook handy, trust me when I tell you to mark April 10 on your calendar. I'll have more to say closer to then

It's a fun space exploration game with a timeloop twist, and 90% of all game progress happens in your head, as you learn things about the universe and your situation. Absolutely play it if you haven't yet.
unlabelledView post →I've put 17 hours into this most recent playthrough attempt of Outer Wilds and I went from "Man, I'm never gonna beat this game" to "I hope I never beat this game"

unlabelledView post →Do yourself a favor, go blind into this one This game is a wonderful experience, a game you can play only once. Don't watch trailers, don't watch a gameplay, just turn the game on and let it lead you. I hope that one day I'll wake up and forget about my playthrough, so I could play it for the first time once again

unlabelledView post →Finally playing the Outer Wilds and boy that's a special game, isn't it?
unlabelledView post →Don't trust your friends that keep recommending this game to you, they're actually doing it for an incredibly sinister and selfish reason - to relive the magical feeling it gives you the first time you make your way through it, using you as the vessel for that
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The greatest game you're not allowed to talk about Please play it. This game's gift can only be felt once, in a completely blind playthrough. This game requires no review. This game requires your childlike curiosity. This is a masterpiece, a true art form of what a product of the gaming medium can be. It is proof that games can communicate ideas, emotions, and experiences in a way that no other medium can. "You only get to play Outer Wilds for the first time once."
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just hope that anyone who's lucky enough to find this game, and anyone even luckier to find this review on it, would be willing to give it a try and let their curiosity run freely. Please, for both your sake, and my own.

unlabelledView post →There will come a time where a friend will recommend you this game. It's extremely important that you listen to them. You might think, right, why would I? It seems indie, puzzle like, I don't like those type of games. But when you think back of all those games you've played, and the impact that they've had on you, and how it slowly stopped doing that. Well, this one is here to make you feel like that again, maybe hit harder than anything you've ever played before. You won't forget this one, I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I havent finished the game in 24 minutes. I've pirated the game and it was so good that i just had to buy it after i finished it, as a thanks for the developers for such a good time. Honestly this game is so peak. If youre willing to think and explore on your own, youll be rewarded with an experience like no other. This game wont give you directions, its world will, and youll follow because thats how human nature works.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10/10. Near zero replayability, and that is exactly what makes it a masterpiece. The game lives and dies by your own discovery, so go in completely blind and let your curiosity lead the way. You won’t be disappointed.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the most immersive and creative games I've played in a while. You begin to explore because it's fun. You keep exploring because you need to understand. And when you finally do, you'll wish you could forget it all to experience it again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it’s been a few days and I’m still reeling from Outer Wilds. What a fantastic game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If forced to name my favorite game, I'd probably say OUTER WILDS. So imagine my surprise & delight when @schillingc.bsky.social reached out to see if I'd be interested in writing the foreword for this amazing OW book he was writing/editing for @lostincult.co.uk. Naturally, I said yes... 1/

unlabelledView post →To whoever reads this, This is easily one of the best games I've ever played - the kind of experience that stays with you long after you've finished it. On the other few games I've reviewed on Steam, I'd normally write why I enjoyed that particular game. However, Outer Wilds is a very special case, because the less you know, the better. Do yourself a favour and just go in blind. Don't watch any videos, trailers, etc. The most I'd say you can do is view the screenshots on the Store page - but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →when you first launch this game and it seems terribly confusing, and too directionless, and maybe a little unorthodox compared to the games you usually play, and maybe just ever so slightly nauseating because you're not used to the movement, please just do yourself a favour and keep going and trying to figure it out. eventually it will click and you will get exactly why it felt that way, and why it had to feel that way, and experience one of the best narratives in gaming I cannot recommend it…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My most popular on twitter was not a Warhammer model. It was this diorama I made from Outer Wilds. It was a birthday gift for a friend, and I spent 2 months exporting game models, fixing for print, posing, and painting. It's a real labour of love. #minipainting #nerdlings #outerwilds

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finality. True and absolute finality. Finality so perfect, there is no observer to be aware of it. There never will be an observer to ascertain it. An Eye will never open to see the grandest of all existential nightmares come to life and reign for the most eternal of Eternities that could ever be. Inevitable. Do you understand? I really, really, really hope that you do not. But this game might give you a taste of it. I played a lot of games in my life. And Outer Wilds is one of the select few…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →in short: if you still harbour a sense of pure curiosity about anything at all, i highly recommend you play Outer Wilds. consider, for a moment, the wave function. you may not be familiar with the specifics, but you encounter it every day. it was proven by Fourier, what was Fourier after? he just thought this was kind of cool, it was like this is interesting. he was not at all thinking about practical applications. a world of electric communications which uses this routinely in order to. look…

unlabelledView post →∞ / 10 I bought Outer Wilds just so I can leave a review on it and support the creators since I've already finished it on a different platform. Go in blind and immerse yourself into, in my opinion, the best exploration story game ever created. I truly see this as a masterpiece and I am 100% certain not a single game will ever come close to what I have experienced playing it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to start this review off by admitting I did not like Outer Wilds. I normally love things in this field, but for some reason it just wasn't my bag. Spoiler free- That being said, I want to give it a positive review because its an incredibly niche and very well built game. All of the things I didn't like are probably pros to others, and I can't deny that it's good and achieves what it sets out to. If space exploration and really working to uncover a story bit by bit, along side with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably the best game I've ever played, I had to call off work the next day, I was crying too much Go in blind, dont look up guides, trust me
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not recommending Outer Wilds would be dishonest of me. It's quite unique in it's approach to puzzles and story telling. It handles open world gameplay in an unusually open fashion, with exploration and curiosity at the forefront. Your hand will not be held and you're largely on your own. It is not for me, however. Maybe I'm not intelligent enough, or maybe I'm just too impatient. It's probably both. I had some fun the first 10-12 hours or so, but then I started to get stuck. As soon as the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Shout-out to the team behind the game studio @mobiusdigitalgames.com ! They've created one of the most inspiring space games around. And quite simply one of the best video games. I can't recommend Outer Wilds highly enough. The ideal balance between thoughtful game design and sci-fi narrative.
unlabelledView post →Redefined the meaning of "exploration" in games At the beginning I had no idea what this game is about (just knew you can roast marshmallows and that there is music) Got immersed gradually as I explored new places and connected dots until I became the character itself, thirsty for knowledge Music 10/10 The Final Sequence is probably one of the most beautiful endings I have ever seen in a game. The only bad thing about the game was MY driving skills :)

After a number of friends bounced off the game, I wrote up some tips which I've revised/added to over the years. Maybe they'll help you too?

unlabelledView post →Mind-bending, emotional, and absolutely brilliant. Every loop teaches you something, and every discovery hits harder than the last. Better understanding, same cosmic mystery that still feels like a masterpiece. + Incredible sense of exploration, unforgettable atmosphere – Can feel overwhelming at first 10/10 – Curiosity has never felt so magical
