I really wish there was a way to release people from my mob so that I could pick up unrecruited people that are walking around. The controls feel very loose, you can spam attack at an enemy for awhile as your mob wanders in their general area sort of attacking them but sort of also dying to nearby traps or attacking…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun little game that puts me in mind of a mix of Pikmin and God of War. It can be very difficult to maintain of your mob initially but this becomes easier as time goes on. I also found that the developers are incredibly supportive and will respond to questions posted in the discussions quite quickly and follow through with help and advice!

unlabelledView post →Fun for a few minutes when your angry mob smashes everything on its path through the tutorial. And then it sucks massively when the actual gameplay starts. It's pure chaos, everybody's moving and attacking things randomly, there's a ton of visual and audial clutter, and the game actively punishes you for not paying enough attention. Which is highly problematic because I can't even grasp what is happening on my screen. This would probably be still fun for a more traditional genre where you can…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As much as I enjoy the style and tone of Okhlos, I found its format and simplistic gameplay to be too repetitive and not engaging enough keep me interested for long. A great hook/gimmick, but little more outside an hour or few of content. A mix of mobile game and arcade vibes. The content it provides is fun, even if limited and brief. Because of this, I find the asking price of $12.99 to be far, far too high. To be honest, $5 feels like too much. If you can get it for a solid $2-3, then…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okhlos: Omega, while looking like a retro brawler, actually is more like a retro Overlord on steroids. You basically tell your minion mob what to do. "Do" in this case means what to entirely obliterate. The game features a ton of heroes, special characters, secrets, random boss fights, some RNG, great combat and a completely trippy soundtrack. While one run through is quite short at one or two hours, this game has an immense replay value. I was quite positively surprised.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super crazy awesome!!! Fxxk the downvotes almost kept me away from buying this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2nd game ever refunded on steam. I usually take my losses, but this. I have far to many different games to check out and enjoy than to be frustrated with this. Horrible controls, and a visual mess. Art style was cool I guess but its just a terrible experience. I just don't have the patience for RNG based games like this anymore.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okhlos : Omega is a real time strategy game where you control a philosopher going around Greece collecting a mob and inciting said mob to violence against the gods. Your philosopher is your main unit and if your last philosopher dies, the game ends. You can collect up to 25 different units ranging from attackers, defenders, philosophers, slaves, citizens, animals and heroes. Heroes are upgrades that can increase the size and power of your mob. Every stage involves the following loop, kill all…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this because it's published by Devolver Digital, who can usually do no wrong. This suffers from Overwatch syndrome: I love everything about it except playing it. It's not fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Although it may looks good, the gameplay is actually pretty meh. Can't recommend it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A roguelike where you can't see what the f is happening because there is so much clutter on the screen, it's hard to keep track. The control scheme, at least on controller, is also a bit of a mess - 30 minutes of play was enough to actually make my hand hurt, which I don't think has ever happened to me when playing a game before. You constantly have to reach around your controller to direct and redirect the mob, attack, defend, spread out or gather and it leads to pain. The idea of the game is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is absolutely awful...even if you got it in a bundle somewhere, don't bother. The controls are horrific, you can't really see what's happening at any given time, and deaths are frequent and unfair. As far as roguelikes go, this one is just completely poor in both concept and execution.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not fun, exactly what it looks like but somehow managed to lose my attention even sooner than I thought it would
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Argh, the game mechanics are so approximate. Mob, kind of go over here! Sort of maybe attack! Try not to ... ugh, forget it. The game celebrates its pixel art and the fact that the screen is in a state of chaos at all times. I can see how this might make the game very appealing to some gamers, but it was a barrier to my enjoyment of the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The trailer video of this game compelled me to buy this and play it. The start of the video with an Aristotle "quote", the music and that end of the video... I was laughing my ass off. I bought it and played it. Worth it 10/10

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An excellent concept completely ruined by lack of balance: - This game is more about lottery than skill. As per usual with these types of games, it doesn't give you options to use different tactics depending on the situation. Winning would require a whole series of successful lotteries. One failure and game over. - The game does not compensate the balance issues by granting the player additional power ups or favourable heroes in the market. - There is no leveling system to gain XP and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pick up people and use them to fight enemies. the game lacks depth or enjoyment beyond that. the most you can do is attack, defend, and just choose whether you're spread out or clumped together. could only recommend on heavy sale.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring. It's alright if you like a casual game but I saw action roguelike and thought it would be more intense and have more depth. Also was hooked by a unique setting for an indie game but alas all it boils down is cosmetics. If you want a "roguelike" that doesn't require much skill than this might be for you.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Something of a fun, crazy, run around breaking things game where you keep unlocking things and repeat. I really didn't have fun with this one, the game play is simple and not really interactive. Nothing much to keep you playing. As you repeat the levels it is much of the same stuff and the combat is super simple. Graphics, lore and sound are pretty good but it just doesn't come together well
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game give you control of an ancieint Greco mob. As the Philosopher, it is up to the player to command the mob to do its bidding--whether that be fighting guards, mythological monsters and ancient gods or gathering essential items to further your expedition. As you progress through the game, you will encounter various opportunities to upgrade your mob and add various heroes from Greek mythology to it, each with his/her own special ability. As you encounter the vast number of enemies to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kinda Rogue Like but not. Basica mechanic of the game is Telegraph attack countering. Trouble is there are often tons of enemies, with different patterns, that are constantly blocking your view making it imposible to see half the attacks coming. Plus the units just ♥♥♥♥ around everywhere and get stabbed or exploded by barrels or don't actually attack the spot you're telling them to attack. You unlock starting heroes and people and things and I guess it could get more interesting if you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chaotic, repetitive and forgettable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just didn't grab me; there was far too much going on onscreen (and I'm a veteran of bullet-hell shooters) to keep track of, and the "combat" mechanics felt very unsatisfying. Might be more fun with some time invested into it but I'm not the person to invest that time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting game that kind of feels like a mix of Katamari Damacy and Pikmin with a Greek Myth + silliness feel! I tried it with my dual analog pad (Wii U Pro Pad with an adapter that makes the PC think it is an Xbox 360 pad), and it handles just fine. Cannot imagine it handling much better with just mouse and keyboard, since you have to control your philosopher and your angry horde separately. Then again, it worked nicely in Overlord, which is a Pikmin-like. Interesting and funny, will…

You recruit citizens, warriors, and animals, then destroy cities and fight gods. The Good - Easy to understand and quick to start. - Art-style is cute. - The music is a straight bop. - Destroying things feels satisfying. - Boss fights are fun (I actually got excited for each one) - Short runs make it great for quick sessions. - Decent variety in enemies and heroes. - Learning…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Balanced poorly, especially the final bosses. Fun and many neat references but becomes repetitive and stale fast. Maybe they could make the game more enjoyable by adding some sort of roguelite mechanics to permanently buff yourself, but even then the game will remain a bit niche. Conceptually one of the most unique roguelikes, can be worth trying if you enjoy Greek mythology. Personally wish the game was more forgiving.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game looks fun but it crashes on level 2 every time I play on steam deck, which means I played the ttutorial literally 6 times, because after the second time I messed with power tools (over clocking too) and after the 5th time I set everything to default And as awesome as the game probably is most haven’t heard of it so it’s doubtful the developer, Devolver) reads these reviews I returned my deck to
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun concept but boring and repetitive gameplay
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a retro 2D pixel arcade brawler game where you get your followers to run around and beat up retro pixel enemies. The graphics are mediocre, even though some work went into them, they're still ugly 2D retro pixel graphics. For 2016 there's really no excuse for using such poor artwork. Pixel graphics died in the 1990s. Also, a massive $18.50 price tag for this retro pixel shovelware? No way.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is about half an hour worth of fun. If that is worth (insert current price here) to you, go for it. The game feels repetitive very fast. Controls are WASD for movement, left click for attack, right click for defend, shift for seperate, & space for clump 1-4 for items that can be collected. I think strategy is a generous tag for this game. At the end of each area you are given the option to trade in units for one of three choices. If you don't have enough of the right unit, then no trade.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is a survival game resetting you progress every time you die. There is a way to skip some levels but you will start without any army in a hard level. The only thing thats consistent is "heros-buffs" that you have to discover during your playthrough and you can choose them at the start of a new game. The game is really hard to control on an xbox pad and is kind of boring.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amusing at times, and decent music to go with the gameplay. For me, it was too much of the same thing repeated.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This Game seems like a placeholder game for Devolver. The game is vibrant and interesting but it seems chaotic and random. Unlike The binding of Isaac or Enter the Gungeon, which relies largly on reflex and decision making, this seems like a throwback to the early 2000's. The larg mob of people following you just clutters your view and distracts from where the main controlled individual is, while it eventually devolves into a slightly boring -go left, now right simulator- with none of the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okhlos is a bit of an unassuming game, I ended up getting it through a humble bundle or humble monthly at some point, I don't remember when, but as I've been slowly making progress on my steam backlog I have to say that it's a surprisingly entertaining game. You build and lead an angry mob of citizens of ancient greece by touching unaligned people to get them to join you (or having members of your mob touch them). There are only 4 separate commands, attack, defend, spread out, and clump…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the game! It is challenging and nerve-wracking yet not impossible, has a very charming humour and is quite addictive. The music is very catchy as well. I juts keep wanting to unlock more permanent starting heroes since that is one of my favorite things to do in roguelikes, you usually loose everything else after all. Plus, as a philosopher, this game is really a dream come true. People have been reporting bugs, but I myself have only experienced one very minor bug and the developers…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I very much don't "get" this game. It's a rogue-like (perma death with unlocks) in which you control a mob of rioting greeks with your mouse. For me, roguelikes live and die by their gameplay - the better ones I've played have all had fantastic, addictive and rewarding mechanics that invite you to do endless runs through the game in order to explore their depth. In contrast, this one has you moving your mouse around and clicking on stuff in a particularly imprecise manner.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not sure if this is just a steamdeck issue. But when I attempted to start this game it wouldn't let me get past the intro. As far as I can tell there was no sound either. I bought this game in 2016 so I was finally getting around to playing it so this is a little disappointing but not the end of the world Your experience may vary since I can't find anymore information about this. Probably do not run on Steamdeck.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a Greek I had to get this game. I booted it up and there was chaos. Very realistic, since we are the same, as the game depicts to this day. Will play more for sure. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Who would've thought learning about ancient history could be so chaotic and fun?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Want to really like this game but it's several years old and still has progress ending bugs. In the few hours I played it happened 4-5 times
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is fun, I will say that, But there are couple bugs that are annoying. 1: Mobs get stuck behind structures. Seriously, ITS ANNOYING! I get half of my mobs stuck behind structures and i will have to go all the way to get them unstuck. 2: The defend ability doesn`t work half of the time. Sometimes, The defend ability bugs for a few mobs, Even for all of them! Its annoying especially against enemies that deal a lot of damage. I right-click, The enemy uses a special attack, And BAM! All…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game, but gets boring after a while.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The pixel aesthetic and the music is nice, and it's cool that the game is a bit educational while not taking itself seriously at the same time. I like the concept, the setting, and the gameplay can be fun for a short period, but it seems very punishing at times and practically impossible to maintain the mob size after certain randomly selected bosses (♥♥♥♥ you, Aphrodite). If you're unlucky enough to encounter heroes that don't increase your mob size early on, you can end up fighting enemies…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beyond it's colorful pixelated visuals and charming rendition of Greek mythology, there really isn't that much beyond the core concept of mayhem. The combat, while simple is very disorganized and sloppy. The key to victory requiring you to hold the right-mouse at the most appropriate time to mitigate damage.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty dull game not much to see certain times too random things happen.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a well made game. There are no problems with it. It's an interesting and creative concept! I should love this game. But for some reason I don't. I just can't get into it. Obviously you opinion may be much different, but for some reason I just don't find this very interesting or fun. I feel like I should have fun with it, but for some reason I just don't. Maybe there's just not quite enough to it, or too many things seem like too much trouble, or something, but I'm just not liking it.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This could EASILY be great. It suffers though from many flaws. Many criticize its repetitivity, which I think isn't really a problem. The lore and graphics makes up for it. The real problem is the main mechanic : the more you lose people, the more difficult the game gets, since your mob is both your healt, defense, attack and money to upgrade. And it's very easy to lose people
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The concept is interesting: You raise a mob to Olympus and lay waste and havoc on your way. There's not a lot more to it than this simple premise. The game play is very shallow. You essentially use the mouse to move, left button to signal attack, right button to signal defense, the keys 1 to 4 to take boosts and that is it. Unfortunately, this game's balance is really hot garbage and it's by design. The game play is so shallow and repetitive that the only way anybody could make you spend more…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recieved as part of a Humble Bundle and I gave it a try as I thought the game looked interesting. Unfortunately, the gameplay is really repetitive and shallow, and for that reason I can't recommmend buying it unless the gameplay is really your style.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: - Interesting concept. - Pretty decent art. Cons: - Very shallow gameplay, with little interactivity. - Extremely repeditive. - Janky controls. - Lazy attempt at rogue-lite elements to make up for lack of content. - Numerous poorly thought out mechanics that make the gameplay a chore. 3/10 at best, avoid.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is enjoyable but super buggy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun premise weak and buggy gameplay. The idea of controlling a mob tthat swarms foes to death but needs to be indirectly manipulated to survive seems fun. However, the mob often ends up blocking itself into uselessness, gets wiped way too fast and sometimes unavoidably, and certain bosses are massive difficulty spikes. Would bee way better if it wasn't a rogue-lite: by the like 5th time you have a 30 minute run and get to the next to last level only to be wiped by some nonsense it just…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just don't bother. The game is pretty *crash, restart* original but unfortunately *stuck in environment, restart* seems more like a prototype for *bug, restart* *stuck on white screen, restart* a future game that will *rebindable keys not working, azerty users screw you* be actually good. *character stuck* Screw this, uninstall. Wish I hadn't farmed cards first and just gotten a refund.
