She decides to fight back and challenge Lords of Mystrock. There is not much to say about the game elements in Millennium - A New Hope, all of the games mechanics/elements are all great and solid. This is a basic stand JRPG, there is not really any catches or massive differences. The only thing that I didn’t really care for in this game is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having just finished the Millennium series of RPGs, I thought I'd go back and review them one-by-one, in order, to see what they got right and wrong. Millennium: A New Hope is the first installment of a series that starts from very humble beginnings and blossoms into a wide-ranging story about class struggle, the power of friendship, and getting back up after you've been beaten down. Aldorlea Games' releases over the last few years definitely appeal to a specific kind of audience. They…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is just another dull generic RPG Maker game. The bar has been raised with many better quality titles here in 2015. The only highlights about this one is the use of custom graphics which makes the game look quite nice for this tired old engine. Otherwise this is your typical stale grindy turn-based RPG which seems to lack a run button? Expect long boring forest areas and generic battles. This is truly one of the most boring and slow paced RPGs I've played. Maybe RPG maker games are your…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The following is a blanket review for all the Aldorlea games I have played. This is valid, I think, because the problems are exactly same. I gave these games a genuine try, but everything by Aldorlea has the same set of problems. Horrible level design, the most god awfully boring and unsatisfying stories, TONS of HUD problems, and a single ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ music track for each game. The only redeeming qualities these games have is the art (one of the games has some humor as well); but unless you have a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Millennium - A New Hope is the first part of a series of 5 games. The story continues over all 5 parts. It is a typical jrpg. I liked the idea of having a fairy living in the left earring, which always comments various things or heals you during battle. I also enjoyed the animal sounds of the cow, the sheep or the dog if you try to talk to them. Lots of little things you notice when you play the game. When you play on easy in story mode and with help cursor on it is quite easy. I prefer my…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think this game is really good for its price. I got a lot of time out of it and I actually had fun. While the story is your run of the mill "be the hero and do the good thing" story its still nice. One of my favorite details is gold is sparse because bears and ants dont have coin purses, so you have to sell the loot from killing ♥♥♥♥ to get money. My real complaint is how limited it is. If this wasnt limited to the RPG maker engine it could be so visually wonderful and there could be a lot…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun and challenging RPGMaker (JRPG) game. My major complaint is that there is no steam overlay support (can't take a screenshot, no steam notifications when I get a msg, etc.), the alt to this is playing it in window mode, which is locked at a really low res (640x480?). That being said I picked up the rest of the series in bundles or steam sale and look fwd to playing them.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Initial Thoughts: 10 Hours (see below) Keep in mind I'm playing on hard. This is possibly the most poorly balanced rpg I've ever played. The battles are horribly slow unless you turn on a menu option to increase the speed of the animations to 150%. It seems neither Marine nor Benoit have enough useful skills to properly combat enemies. The most useful skill Marine has is "Call Jeanne" which summons a fairy like creature that can attack multiple enemies and heal to great effect. This in…

Difficult Achievement(s): No. Intro Millennium - A New Hope is the first out of five series of a turn-based RPG Maker game with a lot of vast dungeons, quests, and secret rooms. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Old School Rebelion of the Youngsters! Millenium is a game created with the Tool RPG-Maker, it shows but the game is a lot of fun to play. The game is challenging and with a nice story backdrop. This is the first part of a several part game series. The game can be played in different difficulty settings and it might be reasonable not to run it for the first time on hard level. Even if you are not into RPG Maker created games this one is one of the great jewels of the RPG Maker games with some…

Overall Rating - Seriously Flawed ★★☆☆☆ First Impressions Checking out games from my library can sometimes be an adventure into the past and make me wonder how so much time has flown since I first started gaming on Steam. negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Millenium is very nice game if you enjoy old schooll rpgs. There is lot to discover and option to turn on visible encounters so you can avoid most battles if you want. Grinding is not requred to complete the game even in hard mode so most of the gameplay is discovering new stuff. Start of the game is little slow as you control only one character and money is very tight. Later on you will get new members. By then the game really starts to pick up. You can find some fantactical locations in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very mediocre RPGMaker RPG. I can't say anything overly positive about it as nothing really stood out as good. But, there were a couple of negatives that did. - Uneven difficulty. I kept fluctuating between being too overpowered and being too weak. [This was entirely due to one area in which you had to traverse through twice, this area inflicted a status ailment on your entire party in every battle. This ailment caused reduced accuracy (and among other things, but the accuracy was the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the few RPG games that really want to play. The Millennium - A New Hope has it all: interesting characters, dialogues, interesting locations and thoughtful story, which is rare in most games of this genre. Game of the studio Aldorlea Games, though the structure is similar to other games RPG Maker, but the original, addictive game, I want to read the dialogue, it would be desirable to explore the world and its surrounding. There's achievement, cards, SteamCloud. Immerse yourself in the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's a sucker born every minute and the positive reviews show that. This game has no immersion into the atmosphere, relies on tropes and is ridiculously stupid. The characters are one-dimensional, as if a 13-year old wrote the story. For an RPG maker game done by some kid, this is impressive. But to charge six dollars? I've seen better games for free and a better soundtrack. The fact it made it on to Steam worries me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The good: + Artwork..... ...... ...... ...aaaand that's about it? + I suppose fighting system is OK too. The bad: - THE WRITING!!! It's awful. It actually sounds like a very badly written fanfic or sth. Yes. It's that bad. Very cliche too. This is preventing me from continuing this game. Perhaps I shouldnt've played Portal before this...the dialogue expectations are too high! HELP!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved it, And finished it in 1 day as it was addicting and i literally could not stop playing till i beat it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really just scratching the surface of the game but enjoying it a lot so far. The game play is really smooth and theart is great. The dialogue could be better but the story holds up well on it's own. Really great game.

Review: Story 8/10: Like 3 stars of destiny the story is good with a lot of side quests, secret... Gameplay 8/10: Simple but effective, the tutorial for this game is good. Music 6.5/10: Great BGM for making a good atmosphere. Graphic 9/10: RPG Maker style with a lot of custom assets Play Time 7/10: 15+ hours of play. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A cool RPG Maker game that will appeal to those who like the original Final Fantasy games
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Horrible game. It's an average rpg but the difficulty is ridiculous. I played on normal and could not do a thing. Once you leave your home town, where you are one shotting bees, you instantly become ridiculously underpowered, forcing you to run from almost every enemy you encounter, because one of them could easily defeat you, but you are facing 2-4 at a time. Leveling up and buying gear seems to have little effect, if you are lucky enough to do either, as you don't collect much gold and are…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You know another RPG maker RPG. What else to say? Stay with the classics Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Secret of Mana, Romancing Saga and such. In case of most RPG maker games they tend to be ripoff from earlier great RPGs from consoles. Usually they won't introduce anything new except somewhat different visuals but in terms of gameplay you just gonna waste your time by playing those so pick only few best if you wish and move forward.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is another bad, tedious slog of an RPG maker game that really wasn't thought through design wise. The dungeons are boring and seem to go on and on endlessly, even using the arrow indicators provided it was a terrible maze of bad design, tiles everywhere are hard to tell where you can and can't walk. Many of the events are timed meaning you're going to miss a ton of content if you're not following a guide constantly. Tons of annoying collectibles. Painfully slow movement in a game that…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a really, really stupid My First RPGMaker Attempt kind of game. Humble was giving it away with sale purchases for some reason, but it was also not worth actual money, so there you go. Anyway the plot is literally that people who live in cities are evil and people who live in the countryside are morally superior, and somehow living in a lush, idyllic woody setting surrounded by flourishing fields and wild animals is a form of oppression. The game wanted badly to tell a story about the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A classic jrpg, with impressive map and character models. Combat system is well made, but skills option could be richer. Music is nice and enjoyable. As always Aldorlea Games has proven to give out a very quality jrpg games, therefore I can recommend this game to everyone who are in this type of games. However since it was a bundled no more that 7 times, I suggest waiting for big discount or when it is bundled again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its great for rpg maker, and you need to buy next series to continue part of the story
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its an amazeing rpg thats all i can say the grapics are great it has alot of challange and plenty of quests to do millenium is a very good jrpg with unique elements that not many other rpgs have. Pros: Great storyline, beautiful grapics, can be very challangeing at times, has a old school rpg feeling cons: none. 9/10 very fun game :D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great JRPG where you travel throughout the country and spread the ideas of communism.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In general I don't like too much episodic RPG but this is one of the few exceptions, mostly because it is as well developed as most "regular" RPG I've played. One of the reaons I like and follow Aldorlea is that they are pretty good at making games that will give your money's worth and this is no exception. Millenium is a solid tale with an interesting main plot and a lot of sidequests for the wanderer. I think the sidequests are a bit too difficult sometimes, though. And I still prefer the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like the game to be honest. The Millenium series is one of Aldorlea's best series work I believe. I find the story fun and entertaining. I've actually finished this game twice since it was so entertaining, I just wish that the other characters had more character development, like Hirado, but that didn't diminish the value of the story in any way! I still recommend the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →RPG Maker strikes again! This is another low effort retro-pixel JRPG ripoff spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." This isn't even a good RPG Maker game. Some work was put into the graphics, which is commendable as most RPG Maker games just use the in-game assets or replace them with even worse graphics of their own, so there's something at least. Are some slightly better…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A decent game with an overall plot. If you're looking for something silly or fun and doesn't take a lot of thought, then this is the one you'd want.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the first of five Millennium titles. I will give my overall review on the fifth one. So for this, I will only focus on Millennium - A New Hope. This feels like a very good "Game Boy" game. The gameplay, effects and all; my gaming rig is under-utilized. For its price, of course we shouldn’t expect high end effects. Though some of the background are beautifully drawn up; A Game Boy would never be able to display that. A lot of aspects can be done better. The only reason why you will be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you enjoy a game that is 2% dialouge and story and 98% walking around and battling monstrs over and over and over again then look no further, for this is your game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not long into this game and it has quickly pulled me in with its many positives: -various factors affecting difficulty, including visible/invisible fights, navigation arrows on or off, and easy to more difficult play levels. -completely immersive story involving a girl (Marine) on a showdown type of path against the rulers of the world. -interesting characters. -side quests, secret rooms, and other hidden stuff. -nice music, great atmospheric sound effects, very nice graphics and artwork. I see…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Millenium is the first of a set of five "volumes" in an epic RPG arc that is poised to shake the world upon which it is set (which is normal for such things). The inciting incident is the serious injury of Marine's father. Marine isn't exactly ready to take up his cause, but finds herself swept up into doing so by adventures not completely of her choosing. Sometimes being a helpful young lady can lead to all sorts of powerful things. (No, not the bad type.) I believe at the start she is still…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Millennium - A New Hope is the first game in the 5-episode Millennium game series. Do not purchase this game with the expectations of it being complete at the end, for the final conclusion of the story as mentioned above is stretched out over 5 seperate games. Well, I certainly was not expecting this. Put it this way, I love RPGMaker games, a lot. But, they have to have that story, and certain feel to them for the game to actually hook me and keep me interested long enough to see it through…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the concept of this indie rpg. The storyline was great and it had a rather good battle system. But you know, somehow, difficulty levels are quite aummm unusual in this game. I cannot for the life of me defeat one of the animal kings and I am sure I chose the NORMAL mode, also took me a while to understand what the orb colours meant as well as I found characters to be completely useless at times. But, honestly, it was a great storyline, dont know why it is split into 5 parts. It would…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I picked this up on sale with a few other games from Aldorlea - and all I can say is I'm mega unimpressed with the games they churn out... *PROS* -Nice tilesets/mapping (for the most part) *CONS* - Inconsistency in style/color palette makes the game look very mish-mashed at times. - AWFUL dialogue - like...I literally wanted to poke my eyes out reading it. - The story is convoluted as hell - within the first 30 minutes it's just like...what? There's some town where rich people live, you're…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Script is Hanging bug occurs frequently at startup of this game. Have tried alternative rgss dll files, sound settings on my computer system, disabling sound completely in the millennium.ini file, the usual plethora of known workarounds (run as admin, compatibility settings) and still came back to the "script is hanging" prompt. Time not spent on the game was in Google learning the basics about the game maker program used to create this item, and that my rudimentary knowledge of Ruby would…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think I bought all of these games for a couple of bucks. I don't know if I can remove a game from my library but I would if I could. These games are worse than boring. They're liberal garbage. I don't mean in the Liberal vs Conservative way. I mean liberal in the actual way. I mean that the game tries to be down to earth in addressing class antagonism but the writter has no idea what it's like to be forced to work for less than the cost of your own survival under the threat of eviction…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Alright, here goes... ART: The art itself is gorgeous but it seems very out of place. Probably due to the setting of the story. MAP DESIGN: I was turned off by how unneccessarily big each map was. There was nothing particularly special to look at, going around the whole map felt boring and tedious. Also, looking for quest items felt dry, it was scattered everywhere without reason and hard to find. STORY: Story is pretty weak, made me lose the motivation to continue playing the game.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are too many design choices and balance issues that ruin this game. The battle system is a mess. There is no consistancy in damage dealt by your characters. You may hit for three different numbers not including critical hits. This ruins most strategic element to combat. The characters are not well balanced either. The attributes given in the game do not help with what you may want to do with your characters. It is hard to tell what their role is. There may be some interesting ideas but…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yet another poor Zelda/Final fantasy look alike. Stop making these crappy fakes.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gameplay was decent, but I quit playing when I found out online that there's a place (the forge) that has to be visited early to get some of the good items or the chance is lost forever. Since I didn't know this beforehand, and didn't feel like going back to and old save, nor felt like missing some content, I just quit. If you know about this beforehand, it's probably not hard to avoid.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Millennium - A New Hope is a story of a world divided between the rich and the poor, with the poor being left to fend for themselves. Most have grudgingly accepted their fate, but young Marine, after her father is left for dead by the soldiers of the rich, gets inspiration from the animals and begins a crusade to save her people. Why I liked the game: Lots of secrets - exploration is rewarded An engaging and meaningful story Fun and unique characters Various levels of difficulty Option to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game feels like an animation movie - about a small girl who tries to make her best to change the world. Game features a whole world with lots of different characters, very relaxing game play filled with different interesting objects, quests, tasks. I would specially admit greatly painted intros, interesting overall level design.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great representative of the genre RPG. Very interesting conversations, many locations. I like good music, thanks to the developers for a pleasant musical accompaniment) For me it is very important to be able to keep the gameplay ... in this work the ability to save the game industry is possible at any time, which is not often seen in retro-RPG. Do you like to achieve? I really love. The game has a lot of achievements, this is another plus of this game. The game is fully consistent with price.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So I haven't played many rpgmaker games, but if you are a fan I would recommend this one! As part of a series their is much to do, much to explore and many secrets to find. I liked the art design and it felt well put together for a indie rpgmaker game. I would give it 7/10 definitely worth giving it a chance. Plus who doesn't like getting to play as a girl.
