Given a larger canvas, Damian MCarthy delivers a truly scary entanglement of the spooky. Both fresh and delightfully old-fashioned
positive · AI labelView post →If you’re digging ODDITY, you’re gonna dig his next film HOKUM coming theatrically in just a few weeks! #mutantfam #lastdrivein

The song is inspired by the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey and features Major Tom, an astronaut, who loses contact with Ground Control. It was a global hit. youtu.be/iYYRH4apXDo?...

neutral · AI labelView post →bedridden for days now so I took the oportunity to watch Oddity, fantastic film, loved Damian McArthy's Caveat and this one continues to showcase his talent for tense buildups, genuine scares, and some truly despicable characters; mad props to Carolyn Bracken, what an excellent performance
positive · AI labelView post →Doing my October thread of a horror movie I like a day again! Not much thought beyond “you should watch this”. Enjoy! 1. Oddity

neutral · AI labelView post →Just rewatched Oddity (2024) and this film is severely underrated. Legit had me screaming and covering my eyes at moments and it was my second watch. #horrorsky #filmsky
positive · AI labelView post →Comparing the new horror film Oddity to the vibe of an Amicus anthology is kind of like putting out a big piece of cheese in the vicinity of a big nasty rat (i'm the rat)

A wealthy art collector sees her life turned upside down by a tragic event that awakens a primal, uncontrollable instinct inside of her. She becomes an irresistibly dangerous new predator.

neutral · AI labelView post →Just finished watching ODDITY. Wow. This is one slept on horror movie from 2024. Didn't hear anyone talking about this. It's good!! Who's seen it?

neutral · AI labelView post →Coolest thing ever: I interviewed Damian McCarthy at SXSW for the premiere of his film HOKUM. We talked about his work with sculptor & SFX master Paul McDonnell, who also created the terrifying Wooden Man for Damian's film ODDITY. Paul very kindly sent me a handpainted, 3D print of the Wooden Man!!

neutral · AI labelView post →Watched ODDITY last night with modest expectations, and boy howdy this clever Irish ghost story just hit my top 3 horrors of the year.
positive · AI labelView post →Adam Scott underrated scream queen tbh. Krampus and Little Evil were great! His new film, Hokum, is written and directed by Damian McCarthy of Oddity and Caveat fame. So I will be there with bells on!
neutral · AI labelView post →Today it was ODDITY. This film is pretty much perfect in my opinion. Front to back, it’s tremendous.
positive · AI labelView post →Catching up with #TheLastDriveIn and a 2nd watch of Oddity (2024) Very cool movie, I'm sure I would have swung back around to it eventually, but JBB sped up the process.

neutral · AI labelView post →Movie: Hokum Basically Silent Hill 4: The Room. Unfortunately, this is most likely the best Silent Hill film that we're going to get. This movie didn't give me the same chills that Oddity did, but it was nice to see Adam Scott show off his acting chops! #filmsky #horrorsky

neutral · AI labelView post →if you enjoy this one, the same writer/director has a movie called Caveat also on Shudder that is quite scary. I think Oddity is better, but Caveat is also very worth watching. there is some evidence in Oddity that they take place in a shared universe
positive · AI labelView post →jw: “Oddity” Dug it! There’s something fun in a flick where the only uncorrupted character is dead. The secrets at the core of the film didn’t feel revelatory, but the craft and performances kept me invested— and this has one of the best jumps of the year. (Shudder)
positive · AI labelView post →The trailer for SPEAK NO EVIL—which I saw a few months ago when I went to see ODDITY—really just removed any inclination I might have had to see the film. Not in a "this film seems bad" way, but in a "I feel like I just watched this whole film already" way
neutral · AI labelView post →Irish horror filmmaker Damian Mc Carthy’s next project HOKUM stars Adam Scott! Damian’s film ODDITY was the biggest surprise of 2024 for me⭐️
positive · AI labelView post →Oddity really came out of nowhere and is a fucking banger of a film, I wholeheartedly recommend.
positive · AI labelView post →This film was a 10/10. Damian Mc Carthy is quickly becoming one of my favorite directors. Oddity was also solid.

neutral · AI labelView post →Rewatched Oddity earlier and it’s such a creepy movie with creepy toes.
positive · AI labelView post →I started my Halloween horror movie spree with HOKUM. Terrific atmosphere and spooky setpieces are par for the course at this point for this director. I prefer CAVEAT and ODDITY due to a few writing issues, but as far as I'm concerned, no one is doing ghost stories better than McCarthy.
