There's a *little* bit of new content in this version but mostly it's a big polish-up/remaster kinda deal. The earlier chapters have been brought more in line with the later ones.

unlabelledView post →I really enjoyed the story in this game. The world is interesting and super mysterious, with some decent jumpscares as well. There was a lot of mystery surrounding what was happening, and I was really invested. Overall, I did like what Bloober Team created here. HOWEVER: The visual presentation makes the game unbearable to play. The game is extremely nauseating. The motion blur cannot be turned off, the fisheye effect adds even more distortion, wobbly head 24/7, intense camera shake and film…

unlabelledView post →I've said it before, but Corru Observer isn't just 'well written' by videogame standards. I would be happy to read this as a long-form novel. It's proper crunchy hard sci-fi. But you'd be losing so much because the game does SO much magic with HTML, up to and including veering off into other genres.

unlabelledView post →One of the best cyberpunk universes to date. I really appreciate how grim and visceral the atmosphere is, with the unending haphazardous wiring, exposed electronics and walls caked with filth and blood. A world in desparate poverty and hopelessness with cruelty and violence oozing from every pore and crevice. It's so refreshing to see a cyberpunk setting, that doesn't fall into the trap of power fantasy steeped in flashy augmetics and loud guns, where social commentary falling to the wayside.…

unlabelledView post →Observer: System Redux is a rare kind of remaster that doesn’t just polish a beloved game—it recontextualizes it. Set in a rain-slick Kraków in 2084 after a biotech plague and social collapse, you inhabit Daniel Lazarski, an “Observer,” a corporate-sanctioned detective who hacks minds for evidence. As Dan, you’re equal parts cop and carrion bird, combing through a decrepit Class C tenement where the poor are stacked like server racks and hope is another commodity sold by the Chiron megacorp.…

unlabelledView post →A cyberpunk-style horror game. The game constantly keeps you on edge throughout the entire playthrough. The gameplay itself feels like a fever dream after drinking cheap vodka at 40°C. The graphics and visual style are 10/10. The detective aspect of the game is presented through emails on PCs found in the victims’ apartments. I can’t recommend this game to everyone, because while playing it, there’s a real risk of having an epileptic seizure, a panic attack, or simply feeling like your mind is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to get into this game but the flickering was making me nauseous. I wish there was a way in the accessibility settings to turn this off.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Observer - an old Polish game that I've been running from time to time for 6 months to find inspiration. There is a lot of post-processing and visual glitches in this game, I have not seen so many before. Today I started making a cables mechanics for my game, which are also very much in the Observer
unlabelledView post →Style over substance Visually, the game looks excellent. The atmosphere, art direction, and overall presentation are impressive, and the opening hours are genuinely intriguing. The initial premise and setting create a strong sense of mystery and anticipation. Unfortunately, the game quickly becomes excessively chaotic and overwhelming, both visually and acoustically. Instead of reinforcing the atmosphere, the constant audiovisual overload eventually turns into noise, making the experience…

Visually stunning, art direction is stellar, story is interesting, the voice acting is top-notch--it's just too short. I got it on sale for under 10 bucks so I ain't mad, I just.. I wish there was more content. More sidequests, more items, more world. They built this beautiful wonderous and also ugly world and it's just so small. This feels like the first couple episodes of a whole…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Observer is a walking simulator (with many elements of survival horror) that tells an interesting science fiction story set in a cyberpunk atmosphere that is simply perfect. The best thing about this game (besides the atmosphere) is its narrative. Is really good, with an appropriate pace and, most importantly, a storyline that hooks you. The bad thing: gameplay is too simple, basically a walking simulator with some jump scares. In any case, if you like dystopian worlds, cyberpunk,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I hate to say this because I can really tell they put a lot of effort into this game, but effort doesn't always equate to good. This game is doing entirely too much. It is the epitome of art for the sake of art. But I like to enjoy playing my games. The screen glitches, the colors everywhere, the cracks and biotech and blah blah blah At first it seemed right up my alley. A detective figuring out some weird case, with a couple of interesting game mechanics in the form of scanners. I was…

unlabelledView post →I kind of like the juxtaposition of seeing a modern city skyline from a historic industrial district full of old power lines and 19th century warehouses/masonry. It has me thinking of Observer. That cyberpunk psychological horror game from 2017. Where old buildings and future technology collide.
unlabelledView post →Idea is good but presentation is very bad. It has a lot of techincal issues including frequent traversal stutters as Unreal games usually has. Although art design (idea) is good - the game visuals are nauseous. Especially all those glitches including UI and text. I don't know who's idea was to put glitch effect over text you need to read but thank you, man. I didn't liked how the game overall feels and plays. The writing is okay, it provides you immersion (dialogues with tenants or notes), but…

unlabelledView post →The Darkest Cyberpunk Universe ...that would make even Cyberpunk 2077 feel like Disneyland So, this is a positive review, but I would still like to start with an important note: this game is FAR from perfect. Why this game sucks? 1. The game crashes pretty often. I had the game completely shut down on me around 5–7 times without any warning, and this is a very critical issue. I would assume that it can't really work well in a multi-display environment. When I received some notification from…

unlabelledView post →An interesting game, left me with a mixed bag of impressions, but i liked it overall. + atmosphere is great + sound design is good, Rutger Hauer's voice acting is superb, RIP + graphics look great, adding ray tracing was nice + 0 loading screens. I like + the save / checkpoint system works great, I did not once feel the need to do manual saves + games does not rely on cheap jump scare moments to create tension + puzzle difficulty was well balanced - although the world has a good amount of…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a swing and a miss for me. Seems like it could be a cool story but the fact that you search around for clues with three different scanners feels clunky to me. The fact that you can pick up something and look at it but if you didn't do it with the right screen active it doesn't move the story forward is just too extra for me-- especially when each scanner seems to have a clear purpose but then the objects you are expected to scan don't seem to associate with that scanner. For example,…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is absolutely stunning. In terms of storytelling, character dynamics, depth, detail, and atmospheric aesthetics. I feel completely immersed and especially drawn in by the complexities of the narration. Something about this game that's especially intriguing to me is the ruthlessness and honesty that these tenants display. Maybe it's a lower "Class C" way of life, but I find the way the apartment is laid out, the manner in which the tenants speak about one another, and the way some of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short and intense interactive movie (could be even bit shorter, some sequences of maze running were tiresome). Dystopian, depressive mood and quite nice story (simple but believable). +Hail to Rutger Hauer!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was hesitant between a positive and a negative review, but finally I sticked to the only reason why I kept playing it until the end. It is Rutger Hauer. He just brought voice acting to such a level that I have nothing to compare it with. The character feels alive: old, tired and struggling to keep himself together and push forward. Even if the dialogue lines are unremarkable, it is all about how they are voiced. Rest in peace, legend. As for the game, I see a common flaw in every…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ill give props to the world building and environmental design. Incredibly detailed and immersive, at least to the eyes. However after the second dream sequence, I found the scares to be more obnoxious than scary. Relies on auditory jumpscares than trying to build any tension. Im not against jumpscares as long as it is executed effectively, but the game just spams them during the dream sequences and becomes really annoying. Maybe im missing something, I really wanted to like it but overall the…
