unlabelledView post →You start playing the game. It's called Night Call, or I'm Sorry.exe It's a first-person survival horror game inspired by Quaker, Resident Devil, and Silent Mill. It features a classic inventory system, a big mansion, slow and hardcore combat controls, and tons of puzzles.

unlabelledView post →BTW this frame of Mills might be one of the most beautiful frames in this game It gives me strong "Night Call" by Kavinsky vibes which is what I imagine is playing on the radio while he's talking to Garcian xD One of those frames I really wanna redraw in my style at some point

My first release came out in 2019 with NIGHT CALL and since then I've been coming up with a lot of words for FLAT EYE, HARMONY: FALL OF REVERIE, DORDOGNE, and more. I've started in 2021 a narrative agency called actezéro.

I've worked on many super cool projects: - Steredenn: a rogueilke/shmup - Flipon: fast-paced match-3 - Night Call: non linear narrative game - Flat Eye: narrative management sim And more! unlabelledView post →Been thinking about Flat Eye again recently after rediscovering its wonderfully ambient soundtrack, and cor, more people should have played that game! A speculative management sim from the devs behind Night Call, I mean, what's not to like? store.steampowered.com/app/1358840/...

unlabelledView post →4. Night Call I'll be the first to admit that Night Call is barely a game. For some reason, it's a murder mystery where you play a cab driver forced by the cops to help with the investigation. I'm just here for the atmosphere. The music. The strange Parisians that ride with you. That's my jam.

unlabelledView post →Game wise myself I played The Final Station which was very fun. Its got a great setting, interesting story and I really enjoyed the combat. Also playing Night Call where you play a Taxi Driver trying to figure out who tried to kill you. Played a bunch of demos for Demo Fest too, some cool ones.
unlabelledView post →So it was you guys who taught the Brits that quirk? 😜 Srsly tho, mind if I pick your brains one of these days about the making of Night Call? It's exactly the kind of game I'd love to make if I had the wherewithall.

unlabelledView post →TBH I think this whole conversation illustrates that genre classification is at some point a fool's game. Bradbury is mentioned in the OP thread and "Night Call, Collect," for example, may have an SF setting but it's a horror story.
unlabelledView post →Did you ever play 'Night Call'? On the first iteration everything was so expensive and the pay you received so low, you went bankrupt by the Wednesday. They had to re-engineer it to allow the game to be able to completed. However, I imagine the original settings reflected the true prices/earnings.
