Nemesis: Lockdown
Developer InterStudio
In Nemesis: Lockdown, you're part of a team exploring an alien-infested space base. Craft, hide and fight to make it out of its dark, threat-filled corridors. Fulfill your objective even if it means betraying your allies, but remember - this time, you are not the hunter. You are the PREY. From the Steam store page

It was an evolution of the Nemesis system from Shadow of Mordor, by the leads who made that game www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...

I haven't seen any other game do anything like Shadow of Mordor's Nemesis, for instance, or copy the subtleness of the in-environment wind compass of Ghost of Tsushima. I think it's partially a consequence of dev cycle length.
unlabelledView post →yes, absolutely. I’ve been saying repeatedly (and probably annoyingly) that you absolutely can do things like the Nemesis system without running up against the patent, you just have to know how. delighted to see another game prove it.

unlabelledView post →There's a lot to complain about, and most people rightfully focus on Nemesis barely being in the game, but I think the genuinely insane part is that the only open area where you explore, get items and fight enemies in the entire game is less than an hour long. Everything else is linear.

unlabelledView post →I love Nemesis. It's probably one of my favourite board games and trumps the majority of the video games I play in terms of enjoyment, though with that being said, this digital version has its issues. I'll go into more detail below, but what I recommend you to do is buy Tabletop Simulator. You'll have access to so many more board games– assuming they're in the Steam Workshop– and both Nemesis and Nemesis: Lockdown are on there, automated. With expansions! Ignoring things that personally bug…

unlabelledView post →I solemnly do not recommend this game to anyone in their right mind, even on a major discount. Problems of these games are so numerous it is just sad but I will try to compile them into a quick read. 1. The biggest one, and actually the main reason that I don't recommend this game is the fact that the developer completely abandoned the game since there hasn't been a single ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ update since 2024. And it's not like this game is in good shape, au contrare, it is not only a buggy mess, it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Criminal that the Nemesis system is still under lock and key and the one game that was going to use it gets canned.
unlabelledView post →The game is faithful to the core experience of the board game. I can not recommend it due to a number of glaring issues: - The game has largely been abandoned, not receiving an update in 2 years as of writing this review. - No community, want to play this multiplayer? there is almost no one to play with. If you're willing to wait 20 - 30 minutes for 4 - 5 players to trickle in, then you'll be ok. But for most there isn't much of a public player base and wait times for a full game can be very…

unlabelledView post →A solid, if a little clunky, adaptation of the table top game. It is great... when it works. The game will randomly disconnect from the server and there is no save or backup functionality. If you were halfway through a game, congrats, you just wasted a few hours for nothing. The devs say this happens rarely and even have a cheeky achievement you earn when it does, but it has happened to me literally every game I've tried to play in the last few months. I can't recommend the game until this…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Screaming Nemesis had too few natural predators or counters in a play style that already has so many early game advantages.
unlabelledView post →This game is garbage. While it is very pretty, I've spent nearly ten hours in the game. Of that, two was with the multiplayer. Which is fine, if limited in options. The graphics are good, I ran into no major glitches. That said, the rest of the time was trying to finish the tutorial. Why? Because the TUTORIAL, which should be about learning basic game mechanics, killed me 90% of the time the first time I moved through a vent. Which, by the by, you MUST do to finish the scenario. Most of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The developers have chosen to shoot themselves in the foot by using AWS for servers that they admit have no money to pay for so they choose the cheapest option that can end your game at any moment. This game should have been peer to peer from the start. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS IF YOU WANT TO PLAY MULTIPLAYER!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First playthrough of Nemesis last night. What. A. Game. The tension and emergent storytelling potential from the game are simply unparalleled. I did not make it off the ship - betrayed by another player and fed to the alien queen! - but had an absolute blast #BoardGames

unlabelledView post →Nothing like the board game, I play only solo mode. In solo you can not use multiple characters to help like the board game so its 100% impossible to solo and win, you can't even do objectives, maybe once in 10 tries. I've played around 50 times completed objectives about 4 times and died 100% of the time even if completed the objectives it still kills you either by contamination, or the company kills everyone anyway at the end. The randomizer works against you 100% of the time. Queen come out…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First time playing Nemesis. It's uhhh not going well.
unlabelledView post →The game follows the rules of the board game strictly, and allows no customization. If you want to pick a specific character, well, you can't. They have a "feature request" thread up on the steam forums, that has been up for a couple of years, but... If you go through the updates since that time, you'll see that the devs have very much moved on from this game. Another gripe is that there is no hot seat mode. This is a digital adaptation of a board game, hot seat is very necessary for a game…

unlabelledView post →Its ok but not greatfull. You can not play solo with multiple characters which would balance the game to the intended difficulty and multiplayer with randoms are also not possible because there is no server to join. You can not play with Nemesis 1 or Aftermath characters, with different species from Nemesis 1, his addons or Nemesis: Lockdown addons. You also can not play with the second board side. This game is more developed as Nemesis: Distress but still bareboned compared to the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The amount of bugs and crashing effectively ruins your fun.... It's more than a year and seems the problem isn't addressed at all Don't play unless you're prepared for unfinished games full of bugs and constant crashing. Game uninstalled, sadly can't refund anymore but i warn everybody else: DON'T WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's just so confused. As a classic Nemesis player looking to find a way into Lockdown, it was a major letdown, especially being a huge fan of the visually similar aesthetic to XCOM at a glance. It tries so hard to be faithful to the board game by referring to things by using the same iconography and naming conventions, but at the same time avoids offering the transparency provided by the original board game. In places where clarity is paramount in the original game, this adaptation intends to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm really gay for Nemesis from the hit game Hades 2
unlabelledView post →I want to recommend this game but can't until InterStudio do either of the following: 1. Fix the bugs that break games. (I.E. crashes, freezing, logic issues like when the active player cannot take actions, etc). 2. Add a way to recover games such as game saving for when the above issues happen. We've played 6 games so far, 3 of them had game breaking bugs in them meaning we had to restart. These were a mixture of issues that affected different players each time so it is not local to one…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game play is fun and I enjoyed the game the only reason I don't recommend is because I haven't been able to finish a single game!!!! Every time I played whether me or my friend hosted it would crash halfway through or near the end. I cant enjoy a game that I cant even finish a round in. Sadly until that problem get fixed i really cant recommend it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't play this game due to servers disconnecting randomly. Please fix so this can be played.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Way too many game-breaking bugs, most of them aren't being patched for more than a year, despite multiple reports. Developers don't seem to care, which is a shame — this game has a lot of potential. Update: This game relies on third party servers, so expect it to be completely shut down sooner or later.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No ''trade'' basic action between players, for real? In coop board game? Devs were not able to code basic action from original board game? Cards and UI design is a mess in terms of convenience for the player
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thank you for choosing AWS servers. Please be informed: You may randomly get booted from your 2 hour game :) Peer to Peer is overhyped. AWS all the way!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty much unplayable in multiplayer. The server backend randomly closes sessions and theres no way to save or reload your session. Just hours gone. Devs refuse to fix the constant session closures by their terrible AWS implementation AND putting the blame on AWS. (they only rented the cheapest, most unreliable AWS instances..) On top, they are spitting in the face of the customers by having added an achievement when your game gets randomly closed. Wow, thanks. How about using a…
