unlabelledView post →Ne Zha 2 probably the worst movie I have seen in a theater in a decade-plus. Would have walked out after 15 minutes but was invited by friends and didn't want to be rude 🙃
unlabelledView post →Two new records for "Ne Zha 2" today in China: - 2 billion US$ at the box office - 300 million admissions No film has ever achieved this in a single country before.

unlabelledView post →Chinese film “Ne Zha 2” became the highest-grossing animated movie of all time earlier this year, mostly because of its massive popularity in China.
unlabelledView post →Zootopia 2 has now surpassed Inside Out 2 at the box office and has become the highest-grossing American animated film of all time, only being behind Ne Zha 2. I had a feeling this was gonna be a big film, but even I'm amazed how quickly it broke the record in a short time.
unlabelledView post →1 year ago today, ‘NE ZHA 2’ became the highest-grossing animated film of ALL TIME. The film shattered global box office records and cemented itself as one of the biggest non-Hollywood movie successes ever.
unlabelledView post →The rules of what animation can achieve at the box office are being rewritten in front of our eyes. It took just 21 days for 'Ne Zha 2' to become the highest-grossing animated film of all time. It took the previous record holder 'Inside Out 2' 80 days of global release to reach the same amount.
unlabelledView post →For Oscar-winning actor Michelle Yeoh, it is time for Hollywood to focus more on Asian mythological characters like the ones showcased in the Chinese film ‘Ne Zha 2,’ which has become the highest-grossing animated film in history worldwide. #michelleyeoh #nezha2 #animatedfilm #china #mythology
unlabelledView post →‘Ne Zha 2’ is now the #2 trending movie on HBO Max’s Top 10 Movies chart. It is currently the only animated film in the top 10.
unlabelledView post →Watch the trailer for Ne Zha 2 🎥 Featuring a new English-language voice cast led by Michelle Yeoh, the film will be released in theaters nationwide August 22 via A24 and CMC Pictures.
unlabelledView post →When Inside Out 2 broke the record to become the new highest grossing animated film, I did not expect that it would only hold on to its title for about 9 months...let alone be dethroned by a Chinese animated movie. And the craziest part is that Ne Zha 2 is only getting started.
unlabelledView post →Congratulations to Ne Zha 2 for becoming the highest grossing animated film of all time! It has beaten both The Lion King (2019) and Inside Out 2 in the box office.
unlabelledView post →A24 has revealed they've acquired the US rights to release Ne Zha 2 which will be released with a new English dub on August 22. I really liked the first film and I didn't get the chance to see it initially in February, but I'm hyped to finally see it soon! Cannot wait!
unlabelledView post →I finally got to see Ne Zha 2 at last and I can see why this became the highest grossing animated film of all time. It is an insane thrill ride filled with some amazing action, dazzling animation, and an epic scale. It’s a phenomenal sequel and I really loved it.
unlabelledView post →‘Ne Zha 2’ is currently the #3 trending movie on HBO Max’s Top 10 Movies chart.
unlabelledView post →*Ne Zha 2 becomes the 5th highest grossing film of all time* Donald Trump: I took offense to that.
unlabelledView post →It’s official, Zootopia 2 has surpassed Inside Out 2 to become the highest grossing animated film of all time…………..from Hollywood. It’s actually the second (It’s Ne Zha 2 that’s the biggest animated film of all time). But yes, it is the highest grossing AMERICAN animated film ever.
unlabelledView post →I'm all for K-Pop Demon Hunters but it's quite bad that all of the animated picture nominees were Western made films in a year that Ne Zha 2 became the highest grossing animated film of all time (also highest of 2026 overall). Demon Slayer also became the highest grossing Japanese film of all time.
unlabelledView post →It's our picks for the best Chinese movie of 2025! This year, we have two kick-ass animated films at the top of our list, and Ne Zha 2 is, surprisingly, not one of them. We also have 6 honourable mentions to further boost your movie backlog. Come check it out! youtu.be/phV7FnJpD58 Happy Holidays!
unlabelledView post →‘Ne Zha 2’ hits $2 billion milestone. It is now the seventh-highest grossing film in history.
unlabelledView post →It’s actually great that the highest grossing animated film ever is made and produced by a foreign animation studio instead of the usual big mainstream Hollywood studios. The fact Ne Zha 2 will become the first animated film to reach over 2 billion dollars is insane!
unlabelledView post →NE ZHA 2 has surpassed FROZEN to become the 5th-highest grossing animated film of all time. The film's $1.3 billion (and growing) gross is entirely from China, whereas all the other top-grossing animated titles on the list were released globally to far larger audiences.
unlabelledView post →Chinese sensation ‘Ne Zha 2’ overtakes ‘Inside Out 2’ as highest-grossing animated feature of all-time in a single market. The film is on course to become the highest-grossing film in Chinese history.
unlabelledView post →In light of more people finally seeing online animation fans for what they really are, allow me to remind you that they also campaigned for Inside Out 2 to beat the Lion King remake as the highest grossing animated film of all time before Ne Zha 2 outgrossed them both.
unlabelledView post →The Oscars (and why it'll probably suck) A deep dive into Wicked Ne Zha 2, worth being the highest grossing animated movie?
unlabelledView post →Seriously, it hasn't even been a month since Ne Zha 2 was released in theaters (it came out on January 29). I recommend keeping an eye on it because it's now very likely that it will be the first ever animated movie to make over $2 billion at the box office.
unlabelledView post →Ne Zha 2 made more than 2 billion dollars. It's the highest grossing animated film of all time. It's the fifth highest grossing film, IN GENERAL, of all time. What the fuck.
unlabelledView post →Ne Zha 2 update: * $837 million in 9 days * Highest-grossing animated film in a single market (beating Inside Out 2's $653M US gross) * Biggest animation opening of all-time ($434M), beating Moana 2 ($386M). Ne Zha's gross all from one territory; Moana 2 from 49 territories.
unlabelledView post →See also: their borderline xenophobic crashout when Ne Zha 2 became the highest grossing animated movie. I am not going to act like I am better than everyone else, there are still plenty of movies I need to watch and I do like plenty of mainstream movies, but I wish the animation community-

unlabelledView post →Also NE ZHA 2, the actual highest grossing film of the year, is animated. Also LILO AND STITCH, the third highest grossing film, is a remake of an animated movie. Also AVATAR 3, which could theoretically be #1 when all is said and done, just like the last two, is almost entirely animated.
unlabelledView post →The first film is a fart comedy for babies. "Ne Zha 2" starts out the same way—but all of a sudden, it radically transforms into one of the most dazzling, brain-breakingly enormous epics ever made. Catch it big. There's nothing like it. unlabelledView post →Tonight's movie. Ne Zha 2. It's half time rn. I went in expecting a kid's movie but I wasn't expecting on-screen deaths lol. The animation quality and choreography is great, though the subs are really basic with occasional grammar mistakes.
unlabelledView post →Watched Ne Zha 2 with some friends tonight and holy shit this is actually the most incredible animated film I’ve ever seen, ever. The scale, the spectacle, the super creative power use, ugh, it’s amazing. It does directly follow the first one which is nothing in comparison to its sequel
unlabelledView post →Okay, Ne Zha 2 is out on streaming. Now I can show you what I meant by Ne Zha 2 being Dragon Ball Z. When I saw this scene in the movie, I knew exactly what I was in for: a hype action flick made from someone's childhood fantasy.
unlabelledView post →This makes a lot of sense because Dead To Rights is a big studio picture about the Nanjing Massacre that made like 380 million dollars which takes precedent over a prestige movie. Ne Zha 2 or any anime not being on there is WILD though. bsky.app/profile/jjdo...
unlabelledView post →TBH not putting The Legend of Aang in Theaters is a COLOSSAL Fumble Paramount. Things Like Demon Slayer & Chainsaw Man did incredibly well & Avatar The Last Airbender is as popular as EVER. If Ne Zha 2 made a lot of money for its Visuals, Action & Story give this Film a Chance to.
unlabelledView post →I'm just very happy to know that Zootopia knocked out that live-action Lilo & Stitch film that NOBODY asked for. Avatar 3 may knock Zootopia down to #3 when the year ends, since Ne Zha 2 holds the top spot with $2.2 billion (although Avatar could possibly crush it). Still, WOOHOO for Zootopia 2!❤️
unlabelledView post →Ne Zha 2 is already the highest grossing animated film of all time and the fifth highest grossing film of all time -- all without ever even playing in North America!
unlabelledView post →If you are watching Ne Zha, expect OG Dragon Ball. If you are watching Ne Zha 2, expect Dragon Ball Z. That's how I'd describe these movies. Anyway, spoiler for the fight scene from the first film. But I'm sure you can see the influence, in both comedy and action.
unlabelledView post →Ne Zha 2 recently passed Star Wars: The Force Awakens to become the 5th biggest movie of all time with nearly $2.1 Billion.
unlabelledView post →You can tell how America centric Letterboxd is when Ne Zha 2 is about to become the highest grossing animated film of all time and yet the 3rd most popular film this week is Bridget jones 4. A movie you, my followers, didn’t know existed until right now.
unlabelledView post →I've been thinking about Ne Zha 2 for weeks, and I finally understand why people love it so much. It's so rare to see an animated film that feels like it was made by people instead of a company or a corporation. You can tell the director's preference, fantasy, and most importantly, passion.

unlabelledView post →The highest grossing animated film in history, NE ZHA 2, is still playing in the U.S. A Chinese epic, it’s an overwhelming experience and truly an ambitious feat of computer animation that will leave both exhausted and in awe. I reviewed it for @Variety: variety.com/2025/film/re...
unlabelledView post →Maybe a bad time to post this, but: I reckon the most extraordinary story in movies at the moment is one that almost no-one is talking about: Ne Zha 2 has been in cinemas for four weeks, is already the highest grossing animated film of all time, #7 overall, and at this pace will be 1 in a fortnight.
