Murdered: Soul Suspect is exactly that kind of "hidden gem." It’s a game that didn't necessarily set the world on fire at launch, but for those who actually sit down and finish it, it leaves a lasting impression that few "AAA" blockbusters manage to…

unlabelledView post →You are a detective who is turned into a ghost and must hunt down your killer, a cool concept. The game itself is small in scale and will not go out of its way to be anymore than it presents. The gameplay does not change much from start to finish, you will face the same enemies throughout the entire journey and will not be surprised all that often. Overall this is not a great game, but it is a good game. And I think that is a good thing with tons of horrible games being charged at high price,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Murdered: Soul Suspect is one of those games you don’t expect much from at first, and then you suddenly realize you’ve finished it in a couple of evenings without even noticing. The atmosphere does all the work here: rainy Salem, empty streets, silence, and that constant feeling of being stuck between life and death. The story pulls you in not with action, but with small details ghost conversations, fragments of other people’s memories, moments where you just stop and look around. The gameplay…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Murdered Soul Suspect is a true example of a peak noir detective story blended with supernatural elements. The game is nearly perfect, and each chapter keeps the investigation fresh and interesting. What makes it so special is its detective gameplay, where you gather clues and solve mysteries while navigating the world as a ghost. Being able to phase through walls adds a unique twist, and having to avoid hostile entities keeps the tension high throughout the experience The ghost mechanics are…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A game that I've known and thought for years and eventually today I finished it. There's just something very cool about the story, the context, the way you interact with the world. It's nothing crazy, it's not complex or ambitious and the narrative is pretty straight-forward; but if you like crime and occultism then hell yeah, you'll enjoy it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A short detective story where you play as a dead cop trying to solve your own murder as a ghost. The Salem setting and atmosphere are great and the story is the main focus. Gameplay is simple and sometimes repetitive with light stealth and guided clues. It feels more like an interactive story than an actual game. P.S.: I liked the idea of the collectibles at first but there are just too many of them. After a while it started to feel repetitive, like they are just there to fill space. 🎚️…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This one is an underrated gem and I've had this game for some years but played it for the first time only now. I'm a big fan of detective games and Murdered Soul Suspect doesn't disappoint at all when it comes to the gameplay experience. While there are moments that might feel boring, such as listening to side characters' stories, the game still deserves a chance.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is your typical gumshoe detective murder mystery with the twist that the detective is the murder victim. Your character is murdered in the first scene and then you spend the rest of the game solving the crime. Along the way you run into other ghosts as well as demons. You may also possess small animals and use their ability to crawl through small spaces to gain yourself access special locations. All in all, a fun time. Not very difficult but a decent story.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really liked this game, It had actual history on the Salem trials and I like a game that throws in some learning to it. No real action or crazy stuff honestly really chill and a enjoyable story! 7/10 made me want to learn.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game deserves more attention This game was honestly a really good experience from start to finish. The idea behind the story is what got me hooked. You're trying to figure out what happened to your own character, and I liked how the mystery slowly comes together without giving everything away. The gameplay was also fun. Being a ghost never felt like just a gimmick. Walking through walls, reading people's minds (and playing Budget Stray using cats) made exploring interesting. I also liked…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Murdered: Soul Suspect feels like the worlds slowest ghost tour, except you’re the ghost and somehow still bored. The investigations basically solve themselves, the demons are just jumpscare speed bumps and Salem looks like it was rendered by someone who got a stern warning about exceeding the beige quota. The premise deserved way better than this limp, half awake execution. By the end I wasn’t solving a mystery so much as waiting for the credits like they were my Uber home. Wouldn’t recommend…

I had such a great time playing this game, yes the graphic is outdated in 2026, but I'm not in it for the graphic, I'm in it for a good time and enjoyability of gaming. The control isn't smooth sailing but I didn't have troubles with playing it on my controller. I'm so sad to find that the dev team…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fantastic game, I really enjoyed the experience. The game has a unique atmosphere, supernatural detective-style story, with plenty of exploration and an engaging story. I would have liked sequel.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall a really good game with the story as the main driver :). I would give it a solid 7.5/10 Closest to L.A Noire I have found (9.5/10) Grahpic holds up after all these years and it's working ok. A lot to take if you want the achievement and there's no map but the story makes it worth it. Well written. There's some bugs with menus (checking old clues get the game stuck) but can restart usually and you're back to last checkpoint, which saves rather often. If you take an item and game stuck,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The resolution of the investigation and the entire game is a walkthrough in one direction; if you forgot something in one of the story places, you cannot go back, so explore as much as possible if you aim at validating all the achievements. While the story is interesting, the gameplay mechanics were horrible for me. Neither mouse/keyboard nor controllers make sense, and we cannot customize it to our preferred uses... The demons are very punctual, horrible to go around or kill, and do not add…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →solid 6/10 rate for 6 hours. it was mid story plot none of the side characters is interesting, but luckily the main character Ronan is such a bad ass. with that and the cool unique ghost gameplay i can boost it to 6.5/10 rating. the ending is so anti-climatic, the red herring is too obvious and i almost wanna say Joy is insufferable but the main villain is more annoying and also the whole plot. ofc if it's on big sale, it's an okaay experience to play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The idea behind this sounded way more interesting than the actual experience ended up being. Playing as a murdered detective solving his own death while interacting with the living world as a ghost is genuinely a cool concept and the supernatural noir atmosphere gives the game a unique identity at first. Unfortunately, after the opening hours, the gameplay quickly becomes repetitive and honestly pretty boring. Most of the game feels less like detective work and more like slowly walking around…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Definitely a fun little game. The concept is intriguing and the story unfolds in a well-paced and interesting way. It's not the greatest game, and your abilities as a ghost are limited, but the game took me only eight hours to finish and it was enjoyable the entire time. Pick this game up on sale and have a few hours of fun with it. I played it over a decade ago in 2015, but still remember it as a charming game.

Went into Murdered: Soul Suspect – looked at a herd of pillories in their natural habitat and spent a whole evening running around the entire map looking for the last Abigail's graffiti. Which one? Pillories.

unlabelledView post →There's a half decent game in here somewhere, but overall the game is just very slow. The demon sections feel like they were added strictly to pad playtime and are generally just a mild annoyance. The powers...exist. Teleport is good and it's used enough to justify existing, whereas I used Remove one time in the entire game and it was immediately after it was introduced. Markers for what's interactable could be a little more visible and the range at which you see demons could be farther (though…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Obviously starting to feel a bit dated and it feels like a Console port as the controls make no sense what's so ever. Overall a great story, strong characters and atmosphere. Well worth a play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A supernatural investigative thriller, with a unique story point- solving one's own murder. The story is the part where the game absolutely shines. Overall, if you are fond of investigation or supernatural games, this is worth a try.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After playing this game for a bit, I thought it would be one of those games I’d never finish. The game looks and plays dated. The NPCs are static and boring. Despite being a ghost, there is not much you can do besides reading the NPCs' minds, which is uninspired. You cannot spook anyone; you can turn on devices, but the normal NPCs do not react to this unless the story requires it. There are, for example, three people playing cards, bragging that the same person always wins, and you can do…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →one of the most underrated game, i have played so far. story was so gripping having twist & turns, since it was a slow burning game. but you might be feel that was so many collectibles in game. overall experience that was a must try game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good story and side missions but enemy DEMONS are very stupid and UNBEATABLE they kill me almost allways I dont know probably bug in my game ... without this Demons and a litlle bit heavier puzzles this game will be perfect ... refunded ...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game till i got fed up with killing demons, why it has to be soo hard to get rid of them? The story seemed nice but the demons thing was a real turn off, i uninstalled the game out of frustration.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The final game made by a company that closed its doors not even a month after release. And it shows. It is a janky and unfinished mess, hastily shoved out of the door. A shame.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good graphics, compelling story, plot twists. takes time to travel but that's alight
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More of a 6/10 and a neutral review There's potential here that wasn't fully realized. The demon vanquishing mechanic wasn't fully utilized and ended up being more annoying than engaging. The game is more of a visual novel that can be watched in one sitting. The investigation aspect is more of a cursory hunt for objects that pop up with an interact icon. I did overall enjoy the story. The ending felt like the weakest part of it. It's also unfortunate that the auto save completely locks you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An oldschool, compact experience, little hidden gem. It have a couple of nice, unique mechanics, an interesting detective story, and simple forgiving gameplay. I was surprised by how much I ended up enjoying it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great concept and story, but the gameplay is poorly executed. Once you finish the game, there’s no way to go back and collect missed collectibles, which is very frustrating.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was told back in the day that this game was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Good thing I make my own judgements. The game is brilliant. Great story with a great twist. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story is not amazingly groundbreaking, the controls and FOV are suboptimal to say the least, that said, it's a thoroughly enjoyable game, very interesting to be playing a ghost and the interactions you get as one. Bought it for super cheap, i wouldn't have paid the full price but on a steam sale it is definitely worth it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I remembered how hyped I was to play this game when I was a kid, and how sad I was to see how poorly optimized it was, and I even bought my first video card N Gforce 530 just for this game, but I also remember how sad I was to learn, that this game has such a poor optimization, where it literally freezes and I can't do anything about it, so I moved on. After a while of 12 years, I wanted to re-feel the same moments I had when I was a child and to see what was hyped about in my brain, just to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Straightforward and limited by the technology of it's time... yet I found myself invested in this supernatural detective from beginning to the end. Worth a buy on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Murdered: Soul Suspect is a solid supernatural detective game. It offers a story-driven experience with an interesting concept and setting. What I didn't like much: 1) Lack of a proper map, which makes it easy to get lost at times. 2) Weak interaction with NPCs. You can only influence them if they are directly tied to a quest. 3) Solving the crimes is fairly easy, as mistakes are not really punished. Yes, the game has its flaws, but for 2014 they are quite forgivable. It would be great to see…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Murdered: Soul Suspect has an intriguing premise and a strong supernatural noir atmosphere, but shallow investigations, clunky stealth and repetition hold it back. It’s memorable for its idea and mood, though it never fully lives up to its potential
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played this only once when it first came out and decided to try it again. Honestly not recommend this one unless its the 90% discount I bought it for. Only good thing is the story. Gameplay sucks, especially parts with the demos. Collecting stuff is boring honestly. So many things scattered throughout. And no way of going back to areas after finishing the game. Play it only for the story!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was the hidden gem I needed to satisfy my urge for more detective games! The characters are wonderful - especially Ronan, gah damn. The story twisted and fun. Maybe the running from A to B to C to A is a little stretchy sometimes. But overall a very solid, entertaining experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the story is great and i absolutely love the atmosphere. the game is $20 so if you don't mind paying $3.33 cents per hour of story you'll be getting (~6) i'd otherwise get it on sale
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controls stop working frequently, causing me to ALT-TAB to shut it down, as ALT+F4 doesn't work.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game feels like playing a movie/tv show. The gameplay is pretty abysmal but I was really interested in the story so that didn't really detract from anything in my experience. Wait for it to go on sale this game is not worth $20
