positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short version: Pros: + Fantastic gameplay + Stylish visuals + Cool soundtrack + Short but sweet Cons: - A few annoying areas near the end "Long" version: Mr. Shifty is a 2.5D top-down action brawler that has you play as the titular Mr. Shifty on his quest to steal a plutonium core from the hands of the evil Chairman Stone. You must use your teleportation powers and hand-to-hand combat skills against his army of lackeys in order to achieve your goals. It was developed by Team…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At first it started out very promising with the high-speed fights and slowmo bullet dodging but as the game came to an end it grew increasingly more PAINFUL to finish.. The final three stages in particular have been so lazily filled with tons of enemies, disappearing walls whose particle effects cover said enemies and their line of fire and explosive barrels sprinkled wherever just to have you die a few more times. The final "boss fight" (if you can even call it that) is INCREDIBLY…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tony from Hotline Miami had a kid with Anti-Mage from DOTA 2, and you play as them in this top-down beat em' up. It's ok. Some of the enemy A.I. is easy to cheese and make them funnel towards a door so you can dispatch them one at a time. There are a couple of cool weapons like the shield or the lightning that make fighting mobs feel nice. But there were a few times where my game crashed due to explosions although I have a 4070TI, I play at 4k res full screen so the game might not be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hotline Miami, but you're an x-men with the power of teleportation. Loved the game, even if it has some annoying areas near the end. The graphics, gameplay and soundtrack are great. I still wish there was Creed - One Last Breath playing at the credits, but we can't have it all, can we? Mr. Shifty Shellshock is a really good game, 8/10, buy now!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a bad game, but it flaws make it a non enjoyable experience for me. I found the game too easy to play normally, but not polished enough to make a no death run worth it (if there wasn't achievements I probably would have dropped it in 20mins). The more I play the more deaths feel like poor or unfair design than tests of skill, which once again its not that hard but the levels are kind of long and have a bunch of unskippable dialogue so the pacing of the game is a constant stop and go.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As 51 year old gamer, I really struggle to find a game that just grabs me. This game did. It is just pure fun, without tedium or difficult to master mechanics (not that those are bad things). If you just want to chill, and experience a highly enjoyable gameplay loop, this is it. My highest praise for this gem.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No walls can hold me. Story: You play as Mr. Shifty. A hired protector whose main job is to put a stop to really bad people from talking over the world. Your new assignment is to assault a skyscraper belonging to an enigmatic rich guy named Chairman Stone. He finds himself in possession of something called Mega Plutonium and of course he's up to no good, so you have to stop him. The story itself is a pretty generic tale of good guy has to stop a bad guy. There's nothing really of depth here…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good at the beginning. (*very* good at the beginning.) (and the middle.) far too f*cking frustrating on the last (few?) stage(s?) for me to recommend. i did just come off of rage-quitting it, so take this with a grain of salt.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun enough you want to pick it up occasionally after you beat it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game starts with a great mechanical schtick and then just nails it for level after level. Highly satisfying.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buy only at discount, the game is super fun but sadly, very short, runs for hardly 4 hrs, no new game plus or other modes to play with. Such a wasted potential
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The queen of 7/10 games, the game does exactly what you saw and expect from it, definitely recommend it for a fun 4 hours
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mr. Shifty is an amazing game. The shifting mechanic promotes strategic gameplay instead of brute force. The metal pole kills anything in one hit.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you enjoy playing videogames then you should know this is one of the greats. It's a sort of Hotline Miami but with a teleport mechanism, and puzzles. The story isn't that great but the action is very satisfying. I already said it's one of the greats, so you either believe me or don't.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a damn fun beat 'em up. I wasn't too sure at first because it starts off a bit slow but later on there's so many bad guys to beat and each level offers up new hazards to deal with so it becomes more like a puzzle where you have to think on your feet to survive. Punching dudes the ♥♥♥♥ out and using the enemies own weapons against them is so fun and satisfying to do. I'm not a huge fan of the art style, i think it would have been much cooler with pixel art like in Hotline Miami but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first part of the game is very fun, very matter of fact and very focused. The latter part? Very much less so. It's hard to recommend with this fact with this in mind, but I truly wish the best for the devs. The game has such potential, but it probably didn't need to be as long as it is.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reminds me of Mr Shifty, great game.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As of today, Aquaria (2007) is the 342th best game of all time according to me, directly below Never Stop Sneakin' and directly above Mr Shifty. It is part of Tier 15. There are 25 tiers and 574 games in the list #PixelRankings
unlabelledView post →It was good (even for 2 hours), but the game needs optimization. I've been constantly hearing how my controller was connecting and disconnecting at the same time. I don't know why this is happening, but it is what it is. Also, crashes at the end and some stutters, when enemies pop up. 10 punches out of 10

unlabelledView post →Way better than Hotline Miami IMO The game looked interesting. Yet, while playing, at first it seemed bland and easy. After a little while, I thought I'd seen it all. Was I ever wrong. Very soon, it got better... and better. Stage after stage the developers threw genuinely new and interesting challenges my way, interspersed with easier parts. Difficulty isn't artificial in this game. I enjoyed this game WAY more than I expected.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A hotline-miami esque top down punch-em-up where you can teleport short distances. The story is fairly basic, but the gameplay is meaty and enjoyable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →we need more games like this! worked great on steam deck btw
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This might be one of my simplest reviews, but then, this is a simple game. Mr. Shifty is a fun, tight, twin-stick brawler about an absolutely forgettable main character working for an absolutely forgettable mission-control lady to steal an absolutely forgettable macguffin from an absolutely forgettable villain. However, the story doesn't really matter, because the actual hook of the game is its moment-to-moment gameplay. In essence, Mr. Shifty is "Hotline Miami but you're Nightcrawler from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Act 1 is fun all the way through. But after that the game just keeps alternating between "huh that was neat" and insane levels of annoyance? I feel it mostly comes down to how the game just keeps throwing dozen and dozen and dozen of enemies at you. It gets even worse when it happens in waves and you have to re-do the whole thing because some rando threw one grenade you couldn't react to in time. I feel this was done to give the combat more of a "umph" because otherwise going 1 to 1 with an…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A gem of a game. Very fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the puzzle is quite amusing in this game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →basically like pg-13 hotline miami where you can teleport, it's a fun time! it's a unique spin on the twin stick shooter genre with a fairly corny spy thriller plot but the good kind of corny. combat feels tight and satisfying, it's really fun just being able to teleport around and clear a whole room with punches. although i can't recommend it at full price considering how short it is (can easily be beaten in under two hours if you're good at these type of games), if it's on sale under $10…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't let this game fool you. At first, it is very fun! You will enjoy it and have a great time. But then you get later into the game and the checkpoints become so scattered that you can't have fun because of how stressed you get. The game also has a very interesting mechanic: slo-mo. It is fun to use and play with but you know what? If you are in a jam and need it because a bunch of guys with swords are coming after you, you can't use it! Because it only activates when a bullet almost hits…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have never hated a boss more than Chairman Stone... Even though this game has no great story, it convinced me more than any story-rich game I've ever played that the boss should be hated and dead. Yes, I wanted him to be dead so much. So in that sense, it's doubtful whether it has an amazing story. Maybe it has! Apparently, we have to redefine our standards as to what is a great story. I almost broke the joystick in anger. The fact that you die in a single mistake, that it is difficult to…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun lil top down "shoot em up" or better punch em up with the addition of u being able to blink around (teleport 2m from where u are) to evade bullets and get closer to punch enemies :D Not short nor 2 long Only thing missing is an "endless" mode where u go trough randomly generated rooms/floors and try to make it as far as possible :D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →im fastest f*ckboi
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely fun. Graphics are good and combat feels good. What sets it apart from other topdown action games is that it also has some puzzle elements where you have to think fast and figure out how to get out of trouble on the fly.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Streaming tonight at 7PM CDT (about 3 hrs from now)! Playing a game I forgot I bought and that I've never played, Mr. Shifty! It, uh, looks a little Hotline Miami, so it's probably going to annihilate me. Watch live at www.twitch.tv/lunariandelia
unlabelledView post →Fun! Zipping around like Nightcrawler is a power fantasy worth a go. Good design and humor, and it leaves you wanting more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buggy mess of a game that crashes constantly and lets you control your character about half of the time, when any inputs are actually registered. I can't finish the game, it has exhausted all of my desire to continue, even though I'm at the last level. I don't want to replay it from the start one more time in the hopes that it might not crash on me this time. It is a shame though, because if this game actually worked it would have been quite fun. It baffles me that it is even legal to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Vários problemas de travamento e crash, o que faz com que perca o progresso. Alguns bugs causam inimigos invisíveis, o que também não é muito divertido.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great fun for a very simple and short action game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →awesome fast paced top down game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very nice game indeed ! I like the mechanics the fast responses , and the checkpoint system, highly recommended if you like rapid movement top down fighting.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had so much fun with this game. I played it shortly after playing Hotline Miami for the first time, and I preferred Mr. Shifty, although they're both excellent games. Hotline has the better soundtrack, but the gameplay in Shifty is tighter and more varied, with less unfair situations like getting shot by someone offscreen in Hotline.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun Hotline Miami like. Not as fun and certainly not as stylish as Hotline Miami, but good frenzied action that kept me entertained for quite a few hours. Now, if you plan on playing this on Steamdeck (like I did): beware. I had multiple crashes, and since this game only saves between chapters, but not between stages, this can become frustrating. It made me give up near the end of the game after I had almost cleared a challenging chapter. No Steam cloud support either, so finishing on my PC…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a small map, trial and error kind of game. It's NOT like Hotline Miami where you go in stealth and then random interesting things happen and you've to quickly adapt to the situation. It misses this freedom. Quite the opposite, the situations are mostly solved in same ways because the level design is too simple and it's somewhat predetermined how to solve every individual situation. Then you trial and error until you get it right. Also very irritating to me: YOU CAN'T PICK UP THE…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rating: [ ] Recommended at full price Recommended at a discount [ ] Recommended but only at a discount [ ] Not Recommended Duration: about 4 hours, maybe twice that if you go for 100& completion, which involves replaying levels without dying and doing speedruns Best features: + The combat, simple but effective and each hit feels impactful, you feel very powerful but it manages to remain tense due to your character dying in one single hit. + The teleport…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I originally played this at a local kind of internet cafe I would frequent, anyways I really liked it and then promptly forgot about it. It's been 3 years since I last was at that internet cafe, the place is now closed, and a few months ago I was trying to go to sleep when I remembered this game. I immediately started trying to figure out what it was called because I had forgotten it, either way found it and have been enjoying it, not too far in but still loving it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Once you figure out how to stop dying all the time, this game becomes extremely fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The core mechanics of this game were a ton of fun, but the 100% was kind of miserable. I experienced several crashes in late game levels and progress does not save mid stage. On my first playthrough of the final stage, I literally reached the last room before the ending and the game crashed. Fully undid all progress I'd made on the level. Now for the 100%: some of the stages were just miserable to get a deathless run on (im looking at you stage 7). Not because they were too hard or too long but…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great short game for steamdeck
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →one of the most fun games ever made
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun game. Like X-men's Nightcrawler.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been looking for something with that Hotline Miami energy for ages and this hits it hard Fast, dynamic, explosive, every fight feels like a rush. Teleporting through walls to punch a guy then phasing out before the bullets catch you never gets old Only downside is it's over too quick, wanted more once I got in the groove. Still, for the price it's a steal Recommend it without hesitation
