Ask yourselves what these players actually want. People shouldn’t have to mod the things you fail to identify as demands and then provide them to the public as a kind of unpaid community service. Was it really that hard for TaleWorlds to do what the Persistent Kingdoms/Empires teams have done? Also, people have been asking for a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The concept is great and I can enjoy playing the game most of the time. But I can not recommend as it is not even near a finished product. The game is slightly better now than what it was 6 years ago when the early access started, but sadly has not gotten the development attention it would so desperately need and deserve.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've put a lot of time into this game. Mostly with mods, and at it's core, I genuinely love this game. But having this since early access, it's hard not to feel disappointed with the overall direction and lack of meaningful progress. Over the years, I feel that Bannerlord hans't received many quality of life improvements. Modders have done more to expand, improve, and innovate the game than any patch delivered. Now we're getting a new DLC. But it still doesn't feel like a significant step up…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have enjoyed this game for the most part but every time I play it I feel that so much is missing. They did some really great things like the scale and detail of the cities but there is so little dialogue and quests the game feels so shallow. I really wish they would add more depth to the singleplayer aspects of this game because they left so much potential there and I don't understand why they created all this to leave it so hollowed out.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would like to like this game. I really would. But the fact of the matter is that (for me, anyway) it really fricking sucks. And you may also come to that conclusion, for you see, there's a ton of basic features that for whatever reason, the devs didn't add. Which means, you'll have to mod the game. (I'm sorry, I'm going to vent) You want your AI allies to actually be useful in a war? mods. You want to actually make money from your workshops and caravans? mods. Would you like to be able to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After all these years it is still a buggy pile of trash, after all the hours put in from launch I have never completed it since late game is tiresome repetetive slog with incompetant friendly AI and no way to control them. When war sails came out I knew it was going to be aweful since they still haven't completed the first game in regards to all the bugs and limited control and diplomacy features, Of course I use mods for such things but still the underwhelming "polish" of the "completed" game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is incredible and disappointing at the same time. the core of the game is amazing, large scale battles with an enjoyable combat system that's easy to learn and difficult to master. But, the game isn't very good at explaining things, and a lot of things feel very barebones. the dialogue is little-to-none and for being a game with kingdoms and factions, the diplomacy is laughable. However, i still love this game, and have found myself playing this non-stop, so i would definitely…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As much as I liked this game and it's predecessors I have to give it a negative review. Simply put: it's soulless. It has some core concepts and RPG "level up" mechanics where you train skills, grow your army, and obtain your own land, but that's pretty much where it ends. The game becomes grindy very quick, and certain playstyles still haven't been implemented. Starting your own kingdom is basically a death sentence and you cannot recruit lord to defect with you out of a kingdom like in…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bannerlord does a lot of small things extremely well, and I think those small things are a huge reason why I keep coming back. The game starts quickly. There's plenty of action when you want it, but you can also avoid combat and play in completely different ways. The graphics are more than good enough, the animations are great, and most importantly, the game usually doesn't waste your time. There aren't endless cutscenes interrupting everything. Talking to NPCs is quick. In castles and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It pains me to give a negative review It pains me to give a negative review to Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. While I love the game and will keep playing it, there are many reasons why someone like me would NOT recommend it. My background with Mount & Blade Before I start talking about the game itself, let me tell you a bit about myself. I’m a huge fan of the Mount & Blade series. It was my first serious game back in 2008 - we had a demo version of the original Mount & Blade on a CD. The demo…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →IF you are looking for one of the ultimate sandbox experiences in games, look no further. And then curse everything about it in the same breath. The moment you depart from vanilla experience to mods, your options practically explode on what you can do. But mods, notoriously, are difficult to follow a game when it's actively progressing with content, and that is what's been happening here since forever with varying degrees of success. The base game is, frankly, a masterpiece and disgrace at the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No joke, this is probably the most begrudging thumbs up review I'll ever have to leave. When you have a game with so many unfulfilled promises, so much missing content, so many shallow and half-baked mechanics, and so many major regressions from the prior game (Warband - which, mind you, is literally a SIXTEEN YEAR OLD GAME), it's quite hard to not be salty. But, ugh, credit where credit is due. To this day I haven't been able to find any other game with the sheer scale of battles or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game. But developers do nothing with it. Updates are very poor. They don't listen to community.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game ,I really do, but its been 4 years and still feels unfinished, at this point it's feeling bare bones still ,mods covering most of the problem but every minor update they are not working anymore, a lot of previous functions from warband missing, diplomacy is still a mess that doesnt make any sense, I dont know how you can follow a great recipe (warband) and make a bad result (bannerlord), do better TaleWorlds DO BETTER please.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As someone with more than a thousand hours on this game I can't say I haven't gotten some fun out of this. However, this is a dead and abandoned game. What I thought was an incomplete game waiting to be finished turned out to be, instead, just an incomplete game. For me, the death was the War Sails DLC, which I did not buy. This is when I realized more battle was coming, and poor battle at that, instead of strengthening the core gameplay loop, the campaign, the diplomacy, the endgame, the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game, it has so much potential, but honestly, the base game is so bare bones that you rely on mods to flesh it out to a playable and enjoyable point. The problem comes in with the instability of the game itself that means you spend days on modding the game and figuring out what works with what. That frustration is multiplied a million fold because the incompetence of the developers forces constant useless updates onto the community that breaks all the modders hard work. Every…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord has incredible potential, which makes its current state even more frustrating. The core gameplay is genuinely enjoyable — building your party, progressing with companions, and roleplaying different paths gives the game a lot of depth. When it works, it’s a fantastic sandbox experience. However, TaleWorlds continues to fall short where it matters most. Quality-of-life improvements are minimal, and the game still struggles with stability years after release. Instead…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dude. I was like CLANG! and man... he was like SWOOSH... and i was like CLINK!.. and he was like ARGGGGGGH! and i was like HAHAHAHA YOU FOOL! So, all in all, it is a pretty good game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →6/10 The best mediocre game I've ever played. Lacking features, mind boggling AI, unintuitive concepts. Feels like a 15 year old game with a fresh coat of paint. Still, I can't stop wanting to lead a cavalry charge into an enemy shield wall or leading 30 of my best men into a skirmish with bandits. It plays like a game from my childhood and looks like how I'd fondly remember it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the game, but good (banner)lord, it's looks ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful. 80% of the women look like Golum wearing a wig made from a dog's tail, and when I line up my men in formation I feel like I'm about to teach a special ed class.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The devs hate themselves, you((especially if you are a modder), me and their game. No real meaningful updates in *checks notes* ever. You can have fun in this game but then after a while you realize basic QOL features are not implemented UNLESS you use a mod. So you decide to do that and use a mod. If it is compatible with the current version of the game GREAT! But wait until next month when the devs push a patch for some BS feature or system that no one has complained about ever. Now your…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Where bannerlord has improved over warband is the battle sizes, animations, and map. Im just disappointed in the lack of depth, diplomacy, and kingdom control. I also wish there were more quests, random encounters, and roguery gameplay.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't get me wrong, I love this game just as much as I loved Warband 15 years ago. But I hate you, TaleWorlds. Oh, I hate you. I hate how you know that your game can only stand on its own because the community has taken their time to make it into something enjoyable, and instead of growing towards that direction you keep your own route towards the abyss. Let the lads BUILD.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Every lord in this game got goofy ahh decision making. We are losing the war badly. Cool. Let’s siege a random castle 900 miles away with no food. Enemy nobles escape prison like it’s a part time job. Khuzaits moving around the map like they got creative mode enabled. I genuinely started tweaking whenever some random lord with 11 troops raided my village, ran away for 3 days, then came back and did it again. Still somehow one of the most addicting games I’ve played. Recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I currently, at time of writing, have 200+ hours on Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord. This puts me right in the 'infant saying their first word' category of experience level playing this game. You start as no one. You are nobody. A single human with a pittance of gold and a 'the worlds your oyster' attitude. Again, you are nobody. If you manage to survive getting ganked by bandits, hunger, or any of the 1000+ hostilities in this game, you may just have enough merry men to get your clan level up…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →entirely unfinished mess. doesnt work, got too easy on the campaign side, but in a terrible way. most systems are just skeletons of what was promised. (economy, factions, diplomacy, dynasties)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a grand strategy fan, I love games like Total War and Crusader Kings. M&B2 Bannerlords is something unique... It's a deep sandbox where you can live out your medieval fantasies any way you want. Want to be a merchant smith that just buys up any and everything? You can. Want to be a Mongol Khan that leads a horde of horse archers through the steppes? You can. Want to take your longship and murder and pillage along the coastline? You can. Or be an Arabic badass that makes Saladin look like a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If this game had better AI, Diplomacy system and some drama in relations it would have been the greatest game ever made. emphasis on better AI. Did I mention better AI?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's an alright medieval sandbox game. Just a bit rough around the edges with a lot of room for improvement or missing things to expand upon or address.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is a good game But we need a PVE multiplayer co-op mode, not a half-finished DLC!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Vanilla is missing so much basic features that it's almost unreasonable to play the game without mods, but mods make your game crash every 10-20 minutes particularly during saving. Its almost like the devs resent you for not playing the game their way. Every time I get the urge to play this game, i remember that it has a 50/50 chance to crash every time i save and i end up playing something else. If not for that I would have 1000 hours in this game. Hopefully the devs will care one day, or at…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is basically Feudalism II but in 3D, which is exactly what I have always wanted. Highly recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only buy with discount or refund in mind. game can be fun and totally frustrating at times. which to me makes the price i have to pay for this game way to high. It just feels like it lacks that level of love and care you see in other games that would make it a polished experience. Just the fact that ai still struggels to get on ladders and towers even when this game is "out of early access" is super frustrating to me. makes me believe the studio behind this game doesn't really care.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Warning: This game is an addictive timesink. You will loose days. It has flaws, but it is extremely fun. Bannerlord is a unique game; you can only truly hate it if you love it. It gives you the medieval rags-to-riches fantasy that culminates in sitting upon a throne, wistfully remembering the days of each hard-earned denar. It has a lively modding scene, a fun weapon crafting system, indepth and reactive trade mechanics, and a robust meme community. When you get Bannerlord, you're not…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to start by saying this is actually a thumbs down review. For the first good while, Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is excellent. It pulls you in quickly and makes you fall in love with what’s here. Large armies clashing on the battlefield is something very few games offer, and the mix of strategy with third-person RPG combat is genuinely awesome. For a time, it works. The game is fun. The smithing, running a kingdom, enemy variety, perk/skill choice, and directional combat provides a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just leaving a negative review because of the new dlc Releasing this game as a beta and later selling the more fleshed out features as overpriced dlc represents the state of gaming pretty much
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Digital meth. I love this game, even though I generally play the game purely vanilla. There really isnt any other game out there that is like this one. War Sails made me love this game even more. Naval battles are fun and intense, I thought i would get bored of them but the chaos of fighting on rough seas in close quarters while on boats is extremely satisfying.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is one of those games where you sit down to play for an hour and suddenly it’s 3 AM. What makes Bannerlord special is how natural everything feels once you’re in it. You start small, struggling with weak recruits and basic gear, slowly learning how battles work and how the world reacts to you. Over time, without the game ever forcing you, you go from fighting looters to leading full armies and taking castles. That progression feels earned, not scripted. Combat is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is a great game and is widely considered to be in a league of it's own primarly because of the ability to be able to both control and fight beside your army(which has been heavily improved if you compare Bannerlord to it's predecessors), the obvious one being the better graphics, the increased number of troops on screen which was very limited in the older titles and much more. But despite of all these great improvements, I still wouldn't recommend the game. So WHY…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After 6 years this game still feel unfinished, you just need a multitude of mods to play it. When you install all the mods it often crashes or when they release a new update the mods just become obsolete and the game crashes again...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I couldn't stomach giving Bannerlord a negative rating... But for how long this game is in development it shows shocking lack of depth and meaningful progression. The combat simulation itself is excellent, taking pretty much everything Warband got right and refining it for better feel and balance. How good battles can feel make the game worth it pretty much single-handedly. The strategy layer though... Just boggles my mind with how shallow pretty much all systems are. Without mods there's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bannerlord gives me mixed feelings. It's a fun game, but it still feels like it's lacking content, and War Sails was a bit underwhelming. Without mods, the game starts feeling empty, repetitive and boring after a few hours, and some mechanics, especially the AI logic and diplomacy system, could definitely use more attention from the devs. The game has a lot of potential, but it's still far from reaching the level of its predecessor. I would still recommend giving it a try. The modding…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is an abusive relationship and you need mods to make the game good. somehow still giving it a positive rating. stockholm syndrome.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is great, get it for sandbox mode and set off with your band of merry men, QoL mods are a must, skip the DLC for now - the devs have a game to fix first
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enormous fumble from the devs. Singleplayer is shallow but can be fine for a time. Melee is a downgrade from the previous title. Devs released a paid DLC when the game is still unfinished. Multiplayer is dead while the previous title's community is still breathing purely on community servers 14 years after release, an option which was not available in this game for years. The added DLC made modded multiplayer servers unplayable once more.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this game to conquer Calradia. Ended up selling pottery for 6 hours. 10/10, would get captured by looters again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Execute everyone. Doesn't matter if you lose relations if there is no one left to have a relation with. 10/10 would recommend!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I grew up playing Warband, it was one of my favourite childhood games. So when TaleWorlds announced Bannerlord, I was excited. It went into Early Access in 2020, clearly unfinished and missing large amounts of content, but many of us bought it anyway to support the developers. Five years later, the situation hasn’t really changed. Bannerlord received almost no meaningful updates. The full release is essentially Warband with a new engine and improved graphics, but very little actual…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great game, very fun. would be better if you could play co-op with a friend
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord This game feels like the medieval version of cocaine or some kind of addictive drug. Even though many of its systems are old, clunky, and sometimes downright weird, the game has its own unique charm that keeps pulling you back in. It does an amazing job of keeping players engaged and entertained for hours. The gameplay loop can be very repetitive, but once you fall into that loop, it's surprisingly hard to get out. ✩✩✩✩ ½
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am so bad at this game. I can not deny that it is a masterpiece though. Seeing castles and towns turn green is among the most rewarding feelings in gaming to me. If you buy it, don't give up after 20 hours! Do the things that seem hard. They will pay off
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →How the ♥♥♥♥ did you manage to make something this bad? Can someone explain why 80% of the mechanics from the first game were NOT carried over into the second one? What the ♥♥♥♥ am I supposed to do in this pathetic piece of ♥♥♥♥? The entire game is just: recruit troops → endlessly grind them on weak enemies until high tier → siege a settlement. That’s it. There is nothing else in this game. Lords are useless, lifeless mannequins. The whole world is a dead decoration built solely for endless…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you need a mod just to set which units you want to deploy first, or to decide how many warlords you can have, and they put out a PAID DLC for a MECHANIC that should’ve been in the base game — not an expansion — and on top of that it’s still full of crashes and bugs, then they barely work on the game; it’s basically a cash-grab.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If there was a "only good with mods" option I'd pick that, but there isn't and I can't in good conscience recommend anyone spend money on the vanilla game without that qualifier. Excluding the War Sails DLC, the game has barely made any strides since 2020. It's somewhat more stable, but otherwise still feels like an early access game. There are glaring voids where diplomacy, family, troop outfitting, smithing, and just general depth and breadth of various features should be. Conquest is the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great game, but my retarded son keeps getting captured by the big munchug and making me bankrupt, should add the option to disown your offsprings.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is M&B, be real - there is no competition if you want that kind of game. Magnificent optimization, 1000 units battles, sandbox, directional combat. After years of updates and mods it is insanely good. Great overhaul mods SINGLE PLAYER: Old Realms, Eagle Rising, Shokuho, Empires of Europe 1100. Must have mod for SP: Frontlines (add it to Old Realms) Great Mutiplayer mods: Persistent Bannerlord, Warlords, community events like BR <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Is Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord a bad game? I wouldn't say so hence it has 87% positive reviews. But I simply cannot give it a positive review because of how lazy and corrupt the developers are. It has been 5 years since the game came out early access and many of the same issues, and lack of content remains. But why is that? Well the developers are based in Turkey, a country that subsidizes game development in hopes of inspiring more people to develop games and thus diversifying the Turkish…
