In a somewhat typical visual novel from the get go, you play as Yasunari who is trapped in a school with your childhood friend Ayana, buddy Itsuki, and lower classman Sumika. An unknown silver haired female student seems to be connected, with the mysterious supernatural trapping and creeping memories that are best left forgotten in the past. If you can tell, it’s left feeling rather lukewarm. I never found out why the school is called Miniature Garden (the theme song is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Miniature Garden is a thriller horror visual novel everything you'd expect from a visual novel and just a little more too. Players find themselves as Yasunari, a student at the school Miniature Garden. While preparing for the school's Miniature festival with his childhood friend Ayana they discuss a few weird things that have happened before around the time of the festival. You're quite sure there's nothing to support these rumors and tales of horrid accidents, but could you be wrong? You'll…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game was engaging, but as you learn more of the plotline you realize it's TRASH. Update Jan 2, 2022: I was just reading through my previous reviews and saw this one, wondering why I reviewed a game I had never played. Then I looked at my achievements and found that I actually completed it 100%. It's been less than 3 years since I played this VN, yet I don't remember a single thing about it. That's not a good sign.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Target Audience: Mystery fans who are willing to overlook character flaws for their mystery Summary: This is a case where I'd love to give a thumb to the side on: as the game does have a very particular sub-audience that it can work for: Mystery gamers. In particular though, mystery gamers who focus on the main “plot” without the characters: more of the mystery behind everything going on. See, when the characters in Miniature Garden get involved, that's where things start to go awry for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Miniature Garden is a visual novel with horror and mystery elements to it. The player assumes control of the main character named Yasunari Igusa who, along with his friends, tries to figure out why they’re trapped in their school on their own. The game establishes very quickly that something has gone wrong as the students partake in this adventure to escape and also figure why they’re there. There are seven endings to obtain in this game, each one fleshing out the full picture of what is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This review is by no means a "hard no," because the game isn't terrible by any stretch of the imagination. That said, Miniature Garden suffers from two fatal flaws that make it a bad value. 1. Pricing vs. Length: The pricing for Miniature Garden is completely off from what it should be. I've completed every ending and spent a decent amout of time in the CG gallery and other parts of the game, and as of now I have under 7 hours logged in the game. Others may be slower to do the same, but make…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just finished this visual novel and overall it's not bad, the story characters and artstyle are all pretty good, the music is a little lacking though. I would say that it's a good visual to play if you are new to visual novels as it is relatively short and not too expensive to buy but to someone who is more experienced with visual novels it will probably come off as a bit lacking. So overall I don't think it is bad but I also think there are better mystery visual novels on steam such as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great digital novel with the autoplay option you can just sit back with some snacks and drinks and enjoy what happens you do have to make choices a few times, these choices will alter the story so there are different ways this story can end https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_KzYGc854Q
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wish I could recommend this VN, but the quality artwork and intriguing setup just do not get the payoff they deserve by the end of the story. {+} Scenario: Not exactly novel, and definitely gave me Corpse Party vibes early on, but there was obvious effort put into the atmosphere and the set-up for the mystery. It's just disappointing the rest of the game couldn't carry it through. {+} Art Design: Characters aren't anything you haven't seen before, but they're expressive and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Do you have a memory that you wish you could kill?" Miniature Garden is a very short horror/mystery visual novel. Honestly, I can't recommend it at full price due to its length, so if you've been interested, consider picking it up on sale. Miniature Garden - a fitting name for the private school set deep in the woods. Every three years it holds Miniature Festival, which brings a lot of rumours about the Seven Mysteries, students going missing and winding up being dead the morning after the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This VN brings up so many ideas, and then never uses it. After reading all the routes, you just wonder "What was the point of all of this?"... It has a very nice soundtrack and really good art. I will give it that.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reading the decription of this game, you might think it was a Mystery/Horror Visual Novel in the same vein as Corpse Party, for example. But for the most part, it's not. It's a Visual Novel about a bunch of kids strolling around in an empty, not at all scary school and having very occasional freakouts. The atmosphere is very relaxed for most of the story and no one seems to actually be in danger at all until things get very close to the endings. This is also reflected in the art. The CGs seem…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a solid VN with great art and music. I read all 7 endings. The story was good, and it had some intense moments.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Miniature Garden is a horror mystery VN, which is a genre I always jump at the chance to play. While it starts out interesting, and the bad endings build the suspense and mystery further, the actual story of the main routes is fairly lacking. The game isn't that long, coming in at about 6 hours if you read at a fast pace, and the mystery doesn't end up feeling as complex, or exciting to unravel as it should. There's also the issue where the game seems to want to have it both ways, is the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I recommend getting this VN on sale. The story is highly engaging and the choices are limited. I mean we have seven endings and it's easy to get them. Just pair some choices together and boom, there you have it, an ending. Anyway, the more I replayed this game to get other endings, the more I realized the story could've been more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Higurashi for dummies.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would not recomend this. It is my second VN. It is a six hour vn. So many plot holes, or at least lack of informtion before the end. No reason to reply other routes if so many plot holes. Find a better title.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall mediocre experience. You should spend your time playing actually good games, and this isn't. It doesn't shine anywhere. Get your kicks from something else. This tries to be a horror story but it's too dull. It doesn't quite hit the jackpot. Besides, they sneak in some LOOD jokes that feel very immersion-breaking. At any rate, it doesn't last much, that should give you a hint of its depth...

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A decent VN with simple choices and interesting story These types of VNs sometimes give me the feeling of fitting like a glove - very much the reason I got into VNs in the first place I think! VNs and games like them often have quirky and ridiculous titles, but this one isn't as bad. 'Miniature Garden' is a nickname for a school that serves as the setting for this VN: some kids fall victim to the 'Seven Mysteries' of the school Festival, or whatever it is called, and depending on your…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm a bit torn whether or not to recommend this visual novel. However, I do think I'm leaning more towards recommending it. That is, if it's on sale (I bought it on 50% off for roughly 8€) and you don't really have any other game you'd wanna spend the money on. It's definitely nothing you NEED to read but it also isn't the worst. First off, the art is very nice and looks somewhat nostalgic. What really bothered me was the slight but constant sexualization in the images. It wasn't that bad but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great Story Very Mindblowing I Enjoy 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Score: a slightly dazed 7 out of 10 Miniature Garden has seven different endings, good character design, dialogue, and voice acting. The problem is the story. At first it is mysterious and interesting, but at the end (assuming you got one of the good endings) it just kind of sputters to a stop, concluding with either a vague non-explanation or a cliché explanation. Almost as though the writers didn't know if they wanted to make a horror story, a sci-fi, or a 4th wall breaking mystery.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Minature Garden is...weird. It's extremely short. Art is a little interesting because of its "sharpness" (in contrast to something like Steins;Gate where there's almost a blurring or maybe airbrush effect). Music is nice, but nothing special. UX is okay, nothing great like Maitetsu and nothing terrible like Himawari. It does force a low resolution when you put it in fullscreen mode (which makes switching windows a pain). As the store page says, the setup is that a student is destined to die,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's super cool. Very mysterious. Nice japanese voice acting, if you like it. Pretty good translation to english. I like the art also, but the mysterious nature of the game is what gets me the most.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a horror VN. that's all you needed to know. And just like all horror movies and anything horror, the ride is worthwhile while it lasted. Now ask yourself if that's worth the purchase. Really, that's all you need to know.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i have my criticisms, a lot of plots went nowhere (rip a certain girl), and there are better vns but i enjoyed this. i had my moments of fun, and i almost peed when someone lied to me and said it was a horror vn so i was hyping up my own anticipation, but it's a fun thing to play if you have a coupon from steam badges
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Miniature Garden is a mystery-focused visual novel developed by Muzintou and published internationally by Fruitbat Factory. The game unfolds within a secluded academy known as the “Miniature Garden,” a school surrounded by eerie rumors and unsettling legends that have circulated among students for years. The story begins during preparations for a peculiar school festival that occurs only once every three years, an event rumored to be tied to a series of mysterious deaths. When several students…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →peak, but 5 out of the 7 endings makes 0 sense, I recommend doing rio's route at the end since it will connect the dots.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought I can bear to "listen Japanese while read English", but no, it is so stupid. English sub + English voice = totally fine Japanese sub + Japanese voice = Ofcoz no problem But mixing them is destroying my mind. It feels so helpless when this is forced to be the only option and when Steam is supposed to be a convenient place to play games around the world.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought it was pretty decent until Rio's route, it feels rushed after that and there's too much unnecessary details that barely make any sense added in purely for shock value. There's too many plot holes too but overlooking all that it's worth a shot to buy during a discount.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i would say its worth a shot during sale the art is absolutely gorgeous and the overall storyline is not bad. Tho i wish some endings were a bit longer
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was torn about recommending a game like this, but have realised I have no choice not to There is something almost uniquely baffling about how poor this game is that is should be studied by all lest we repeat its mistakes The premise, soundtrack, and art are excellent, clearing showing the amount of time and talent that went into this trashfire The characters vary but are generally good, if not well-developed enough The atmosphere is let down by the lack of present danger throughout most of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →✔️ Tested on Steam Deck, it works fine (09/03/2023). Touchscreen for navigating the menu, 'A' or 'R2' button for advancing text. This visual novel feels like a fragment of a bigger story. The plot is all around the place, in some routes the player doesn't even get enough information to figure out what's happening and it feels like everything is rushed to the point of being ridiculous. Some of the scenes that are supposed to be all dramatic and sad become kinda meme. It's a pity because I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is so good i want to suck ayana's knockers
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Booooooring. The setup is boring, the story is boring, the characters are boring, the art is generic as hell and the soundtrack probably comes from a free music library.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pretty enjoyable play soundtrack were realy nice played 3/7 ending and i had a good time, later i will try the rest
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To be honest, I'm glad that I bought this, the story itself is OK but not too good. Out of the 7 endings- No, 3 endings (As 4 of them are bad ends) I think only Rio's and Ayana's that make sense. I still don't see what's the point of having Sumika there. *Spoiler Alert, Proceed with caution* . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . It's a mystery, alright. But what's a supernatural being doing there? Cut out supernatural being and it would've been a better story.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honstly, it is not that frightening. And this is the best VNgame I have ever seen.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →yeah it was okay 9.5/10 took 7 hrs to get a single ending, maybe i won't be so slow next time
