As someone who has been a fan of Mighty Switch Force since the start, I am frankly disappointed in this game. When compared to MSF1/2, Mighty Switch Force Academy barely brings anything new to the table. MSF2 introduced the new gimmick of Patty being a firefighter (and all the bells and whistles of using water instead of a stun gun), and yet here we are again with generic MSF1 police Patty. Granted, the game does offer new gimmicks by way of "fall off the screen and reappear at the top", but…

I have been in the mood to play WayForward games lately. I've long since caught up on Shantae, but I want to play the other stuff, too. Xtreme Sports and Mighty Switch Force Academy were both a ton of fun. Is there a chance any of you might have recommendations from their back catalog?

There are a lot of things wrong with this game, and it's to be expected seeing as it is still not totally developed. But there are a lot of things that really angered me, that I hope can be fixed in the final version. First off, the controls. Please let us use the control stick we move with to select items during the pause menu. And please please PLEEEEEASE allow us to customize the Switch Force buttons. I'm so used to using the Right Trigger as a means of using this function, but the fact that…

A neat attempt to revitalize the foundation you've already made. Though it's at most a tech demo, the old arcade style in through one side out the opposite made for some interesting takes on old mechanics. One of the levels even introduced mechanics not seen in any previous game, from collecting more than 5 prisoners, to teleporters, to carrying momentum through teleports. It shows me that they still have new ideas to keep the game fresh. The last 5 levels were from Mighty Switch Force 1, and I…

A beautifully crafted single-player puzzle game by the folks at Wayforward behind games like Shantae, Double Dragon Neon, Contra 4, and Ducktales Remastered! With Jake Kaufman on the music once again your ears will be blessed by bouncy beats as you partake in some passionate puzzles! Good price tag (even at launch) and fun gameplay that'll have you switching up your noggin' as you try and solve them.

Edit: if you've never played one of these games before Buy the collection! It gives you all the games and is better value for money A mighty attempt at keeping the series fresh, suffering from a lack of pc optimisation and testing. The 360 pad support is there, but everything else looks like it needs more work done with it. In a game about puzzles fused with speedrunning you're thinking 4 player would be an amazing idea! But then you remember it's incredibly easy to troll each other, which…

DO NOT BUY Firstly, this is an AWESOME game, but if you're interested in it, you should pickup [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/832320/Mighty_Switch_Force_Collection/]Mighty Switch Force! Collection instead, as it comes with every game in the series (minus the mobile spin-off game "[url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/375310/Mighty_Switch_Force_Hose_It_Down/]Mighty Switch Force!: Hose It Down!" which can be purchased individually on Steam), including this one. As much as I adore WayForward and everything they make, this game really isn't very good. The game is a unique idea, 4 player Mighty Switch Force, but absolutely nothing was done to make that work well other than zooming out the screen, which has its own problems. I have absolutely no idea how anyone is able to play this game with four players, everyone playing must be in perfect sync with each other, or there's no way the level's getting done. The game feels cheap too, which feels very odd for…

Probably a good game on its own, but having played both MSF 1 and 2, I can't help but compare it to those two games, both of which are far superior. Just get MSF HD instead.

HUGE Mighty switch force! fan here! when i got this game...the game didn't boot up correctly, had to figure out thanks to a certain person on steam, wayforward really needs to update this game and fix it so people never get this issue again, that's the only problem with this game, what i do love are: the music (even though its the same music from mighty switch force! 1 and 2, there is one new song though in this game lol), graphics dont matter in gaming..but i do like the graphics anyways,…

A really meh WayForward game After years of having this on Steam, I finally gave it a go and 100% it solo. So I have no idea what the game is like multiplayer, from what I've read it doesn't sound much better. It's ironic how it's made in GameMaker Studio. The whole game feels like a poorly done fangame, complete with mostly reused assets.. I love vaporwave so the level backgrounds are decent for what they are, just a real downgrade from the actual art in 1 and 2. The price for this game is…

I'd recommend it on sale for the general populace, it's a little too short for a $10 (it's about 3-5 hours based on how well you do), but if you're a MSF fan I'd say it's a somewhat OK price as-is, maybe pushing the upper limit. The game revolves around "flipping" objects into the level on demand, some of which you have to platform on and even time them as you launch yourself/enemies over spike pits with cannons where a single missed switch will cost you a heart/retry. Co-op is a nightmare,…

MSF Academy really does feel like the other Switch Force games. It's very fun and can make you use your brain, but there are a few things that I feel need to be added or changed. -The levels are fun and can be done very easily, but that's almost a problem. I'm sure there are more levels on the way, but right now, everything was very simple. Maybe some more challenging levels could be added or the design of some of other ones can be changed around a bit, just for a bit more of a challege. -There…

Had potential but they never really did much with this game. During early access they promised to take user feedback and add more levels but that didn't quite happen. [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/832320/Mighty_Switch_Force_Collection/] Mighty Switch Force! Collection on Steam includes this game, plus the first two (and the first game's HD remaster) for only $20, and is a significantly better package than buying this standalone.

Currently the game is broken, upon play of the title and reaching to the robot which would clear the stage after picking up the convicts, the robot doesn't fly but instead stays put with a empty ♥♥♥♥ pit where cadet Wagon would ironically be. Thumbs down until this bug is fixed.

You literally can't launch the game anymore and any support for how to fix these issues is met with a 404 error. Go figure.

Super buggy. My character got stuck on some blocks a few times and I had to reset a stage. Also, whenever I tried to alt+tab out of the game, my screen would get all crazy and seizure out. Play Mighty Switch force 1+2 instead.

➕ Great soundtrack ➕ Arcade style ➕ Whole view of level improves puzzle solving ➖ Poor controller support ➖ Local multiplayer that no one wanted I love this game, but I was really annoyed with trying to get the last few achievements that required 4 controllers. I figured out a way to emulate them with VJoy and x360ce, so I got over it.

So good. Not able to try the multiplayer (online would have been nice), but as an avid fan of the first two Mighty Switch Force games I can say this is a great single player campaign worthy of the title of MSF 3. The wrapping around screen adds a layer of depth that freshens the format just like the fire hose did in 2. Top notch level design that we've come to expect from Wayforward, along with another KILLER soundtrack.

I like very much Mighty Switch Force! games and i like the idea for multiplayer levels, but for a multiplayer we need to play online with friends or solo with an AI (artificial intelligence), but the game is very good for me. If the game will be an multiplayer option IA or online for make the game better the game need: 1) Multiplayer deathmatch. 2) Coop for defeat big bosses just like the end of Mighty Switch Force! Hyper Drive Edition. 3) Work together on puzzles. 4) Customize the keyboard…

If you liked the outer gaming in the Mighty Switch Force! series then if this is on sale for a good price you should pick it up. You and friends could have fun together also. The biggest downside is it is very short only 26 levels but there are timed objectives and leader boads to strive for the best run.

Please refer to my MSF: HD review for a review on this game IP http://steamcommunity.com/id/garketmardener/recommended/366970/ On a technical level this game is OK and all, but i was a bit disappointed. Mostly because it involves no new OST and the jokes got out of hand. Mechanics are still cool. Game's a bit glitchy and runs slower than the other one on Steam, but yeah, still OK. For those who don't have the patience to go to my other review; it's just a simple but fun platformer puzzle…

If you played any of the Mighty Switch Force games, then you should know what you're getting into. The only difference is that the game offers local (sorry online multiplayer fans) multiplayer. It's also same screen multiplayer, as I can tell from the screenshots. I can't say how multiplayer works, because of, you know, life, but playing it by myself, it's not that bad. It has the same great gameplay, and it still has a few puzzles in there. I would've like the ability to remap buttons on…

Apart from some graphical muck ups, mainly the background, this is a solid game so far, and I like the emphasis on multiplayer, but doesn't detract the one player with no friends. It's fun by yourself and fun with friends.

Let me preface by saying that although my playtime was limited with my home account, I can assure you all I've played a great deal of the game with my fiance, as well as on my own with a friend's account. Now, to the review. Mighty Switch Force Academy proves to be one of the most promising titles delivered by wayforward, and with it's development promises (including the community-shaped patches and changes), it may, upon 1.0 release, become something bigger and better than both MSF and MSF 2…

I haven't had a chance to try the multiplayer and was able to pass the currently included 13 stages in about 45 minutes, but I really enjoy what is here and can't wait to see what is to come. Having a single screen for a Mighty Switch Force game is a fantastic idea and works wonderfully.
