My wife got me to watch every episode of this on Acorn. After hearing about this showrunner, for a game I counted how many non-white actors appeared on Midsomer Murders for the 1997-2011 seasons… It was less than 5, with 3 appearing in 1 episode as high school extras
I've been rewatching Midsomer Murders from the start. Its extremely noticeable when Brian True May was replaced 4 saying he wanted to keep the shows Englishness by keeping the cast white. From 2011 very multi ethnic cast suddenly appear living in English villages
