positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is unfinished, barely has any content, and is abandonware. A few years ago, Keen Software House announced they were done working on it and handed development over to a group of community members, who have seemingly abandoned it as well. On the day of writing this, 1/27/2025, the most recent update was in december of 2024, before that was june of 2022, both were minuscule patches and their steam "patch notes" are identical, akin to "fixed a few inventory and server bugs and improved…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →**GAME ABANDONED BY DEVS (KEEN) since MARCH 2020** First, anyone who recommends this game is a clown. The game was in early access purgatory for 5 years well before Keen merged the Medieval Engineers team and the Space Engineers teams together, abandoned Medieval Engineers for 10 months after the merger, then in March 2020 said and I quote: "We re-evaluated the Medieval Engineers project and, looking at the numbers, we have decided to end development on this title and release the game out of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I genuinely thought this game was freeware at this point, the fact they still have the gal to ask people to pay for this is horrific and ensures that I will never buy another Keen Software game as long as I live. Anyone involved in upper management for this title should feel ashamed
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandoned by devs and unable to be kept working by community
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandonware. It needs to be marked as such by Valve or Keen.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandoned years ago and dumped on the community to maintain and update for free.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can still pay for this? This needs to be flagged as abandonware.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worth the buy if you are a fan of Space Engineers. Great physics based sandbox with one of a kind mechanics. Keen Software originally started this game beside space engineers, they had a vision for both games and kept to that vision. After some time however, the player base of Medieval Engineers just couldn't keep up with space engineers. So, Keen Software, instead of firing the Medieval Engineers team and ABANDONING the game, they combined the two teams together to work collectively on both…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandonware that frankly, should be made free. Had so much potential.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfinished and left for dead. It's a pity because it had so much potential.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Although this review is Recommended, I only recommend it for specific reasons. To save a little time for people looking for certain things, I will put the not recommended reasons first before going more in depth for why to buy it. Reasons to not buy: - Game has been abandoned by the original developers, you will not see any new official updates unless they decide to try again (Unlikely as Space Engineers is their focus, they had a different team working on this) - There isn't much to the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Imagine if someone made a tech demo for their other game and sold it at the price of a full game. Oh wait, that's what this is. Such genuine disrespect for the consumer makes me never want to buy from them again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Before you look at the red thumbs down and go away, let me talk for a second. This is a really cool, really fun game. But have you ever seen the meme of the mother and the two children in the pool? Well, this is the drowning child. Keen started building a masterpiece, then promptly strung it up on the gallows and smacked the horse supporting it. The community is carrying this game like Arnold Schwarzenegger carried Mr. Bean in that one clip. Perhaps one day, Keen will come back and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a scam.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't buy, abandoned. Game had such character and potential. Keen did make the source code public and there is a community branch/build of the game with updates and mod support and there are a few community servers; but not really worth it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandoned but still charging money for “community development”???
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandonware. Had so much potential, but is half baked and abandoned by the devs to focus on Space Engineers.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →one word: abandonware
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game (and its developer) broke my heart repeatedly over the years, largely due to persistent bugs, unstable physics, and abandoned expectations around its development. What makes Medieval Engineers special is its component-wise construction. Unlike most sandbox builders that abstract or streamline structural systems, this one asks you to engage with individual elements and their interactions. That creates a level of precision and emergent failure that’s too rare. Unfortunately, those…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is the reason I'm not buying SE2 until it's confirmed to run perfectly. This game. I will never forgive you, KSH.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Medieval Engineers is one of the most underrated physics‑building sandboxes on Steam. Even unfinished, it nails things most games don’t even attempt — real structural integrity, siege mechanics, terrain shaping, and that classic Keen engineering feel. Playing it today still makes me think about how incredible a fully realized sequel could be. A Medieval Engineers 2 with expanded physics, better stability, deeper building tools, and more polished systems would be something truly special. This…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandoned by devs to work on Space Engineers, buy that instead of this... I really wanted to like this game but it could barely be called that.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was quickly abandoned by the devs, far before it was finished. It had huge potential, and showed further evolution of Keen's engine. Unfortunately, there's even less content here than Space Engineers survival. I would only recommend if you want to support KSH's development of future titles or if you're looking to "complete" your KSH collection.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandonware, staff allocated for Space Engineers.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is good but Devs have abandoned it and the server configuration DOES NOT WORK. Impossible to play with friends or by yourself with Console privileges.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →That this disgrase of a game is still avaliable for purchase is disgusting... i bought this game around the day it was released with trust that the devs i had watched make a game i loved prosper with updates i'd never imagine. just to see the release of a game they promised would be set to the same standard as their established franchise. i could never recomend this half assed ♥♥♥♥ show of a demo to anyone. spend your money elsewhere.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game has been abandoned and never worked very well in the first place.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game was pretty great, until the developers abandoned it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved Space Engineers and bought this after seeing tech videos on YouTube showing the physics of collapsing buildings. Unfortunately I didn't realise this was the full game - effectively just a tech demo for things they went on to add in Space Engineers. Once you've built a castle and then demolished it, you've basically had the full experience.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I Wanted this game to work so bad.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has allot of potential. Unfortunately the game devs have decided to focus only on Space Engineers. Medieval Engineers could have been so much more than the state it was left in. Pros: + HUGE map + Lots of buildable terrain + Lots of mods that can be used to make the game even more fun + Enjoyable playstyle Cons: - World contains almost no npcs - Performance issues when exploring - Lack of progression quests - Almost no animals - Lack of food resources (the spawn rate is way too low)…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game was abandoned in 2020 and has tons of bugs like not being able to rotate blocks in some derections
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →cashgrab abandonware
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →abandoned. Avoid this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Devs made this game to test out planet interactions for their space game and abandoned it It has a mod that adds more stuff nut there isn't much to do in the game anyway unless you are really into building castles and then hurling rocks at them with a trebuchet
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR: Abandonware!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →dont buy it.. may be the same creators as space engineers but they gave up on this game... there literally is no gameplay... just building.. and struggling to build... if i remember correctly the food system was broken.. so if you wanted to actually do food survival you cant even do that... this is basically just a catapult simulator.. that nobody wants to play..
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is dead; the developers have abandoned it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tbh I forgot I even had this game. Abandoned by the devs (expected), ALMOST abandoned by the community (still hanging on by a thread), price was actually lowered in hopes of getting new people (failed obviously)... Yeah this game ain't worth it man. There will be no more updates, so I suggest going elsewhere. The game itself though is still decent so I'll give it that, but that's all I can say about it. If you stay parked on the Community Edition beta, you'll have better luck, but ehhh...good…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They had something awesome started and just abandoned it. I want my damn money back
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very sad, but it's very bad. It's quite fun until you try doing actual engineering and the netcode breaks your contraption. Besides bad engineering, everything else is half-baked, too. And nothing will ever be fixed or improved, as the game is abandoned. Do not expect a good time here.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No game has ever been abandoned as hard as this game was abandoned
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I dont like devs who abandoned game i have paid for wont buy any other games from you
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bring back medieval engineers
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →How can this game crash so often? Have Keen given up on it? The last update is a year old! And why must I use a blueprint to add Workshop assets? I expected progress on this game over the years; I'm very disappointed. Guess I'll go back to Minecraft...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →♥♥♥♥ these devs for abandoning a really fun game with a ton of potential because they would rather go milk cash from space nerds
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This videogame has very little content and has been abandoned by the developers. Not recommended.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →should be free 2 play
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →abandonware, used to make money for space engineers. incomplete, buggy, dont support keen software house anymore
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dead game bro don’t even think about buying it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Everything Keen makes is abandoned after people stop buying their mods turned DLC.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is cool and I like it, but the devs officially discontinued it. They handed the source code off to some community members. Updates are not to be expected. Whatever you are looking for, you'll probably find it elsewhere.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Devs abandoned the game and gave the keys to fix it to the community, it had a lot of potential that was completely unrealized, such a shame, Wicked Wizard did a great video on it just a couple days ago that reminded me of my immense disappointment with the developers.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's abondonware. Started great but never finished. Could have been great, but it isn't.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At least its $10 now. I was unfortunate enough to have bought it at its full price when it first released in 2015 for $20. Buy when it goes on sale for $5 if you're seriously interested in this abandoned title. Otherwise steer clear of this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is just dead please save your money.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was a cool tech demo sold as a game and abandoned. It was never anything more
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandoned game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Old Game - Space Engineers Devs have officially called it a day with it. I tried it once a year but just cant play it for more than 8 minutes. It feels empty, still searching for a survival crafting game that is "right"
