I judge my battlemech games by their gauss rifle satisfaction levels. This game is a very high A to near S level of satisfaction. The right level of glow, speed, penetration, impact and oomph. It punches through tons of metal like hulk punches through a wall. It's like ball slapping kinds of goodness, the kind that makes you go "yes, more please" as it foooms through the hull of some poor soul who sees his lower left leg evaporate into nothing because of an extremely high speed chunk of…

If you watched the store page video that's what you get. It's a competent twin-stick vehicle shooter. There is nothing special or revolutionary here but there really doesn't need to be. Sometimes all something needs to be is a good example of its genre without any frills, and Mech Havoc is that.

I loved the demo and the early access is very promising. There is not a massive amount here currently, but the basics are fun and work well. The main areas I see for improvement/feature wishlist are: 1. Build variety. The lack of health regen, stealth or unique traits on frames means that there isn't really a reason to pick anything other than the heaviest mech with the biggest guns. Id love to see some sort of unique ability or trait for each frame, eg activate a shield, teleport/jump a short…

Dude, awesome little game. Love the feel, good combat, lots of ways to play. All the weapons feel useful and mods let you add stompy robots of all kinds. Wishlist would be a Map editor, Mission maker or even a campaign you can then throw on the workshop and of course I'd LOVE Multiplayer. Co-op with 1-4 or even a pvp mode would be amazing. I know it's a lot of work but that kind of stuff turns a solid experience into a long life product.

MOAR!!! P.S. If you having problems with escort missions, try Wojtech with 2xSWARM-RS self guiding missiles and petard mortar (it can shoot over obstacles). Also all types of support drones are very useful.

I'm a fan of mech games, so I am supporting the dev. However, this is a very early access title with very limited content. I just started a fresh game and finished all of the missions in 2 1/2 hours. Do not purchase this game expecting a full game right now. This is more like a demo at the moment.

I bounced off the demo a long time ago, but having finally jumped into the full Early Access game it's a much richer and more entertaining game than the early stages suggest, once you've moved a little further into the tech tree and been granted access to less linear maps which really undersell the game's potential. It becomes genuinely exciting and challenging once large numbers of tough enemies are being inserted from multiple directions into complex urban spaces deeper into the game. While…

Game is fun, although short lived currently. Beat every mission available in 3 hours. Weapon and chassis needs balancing as I feel like some aren't worth considering. Enemy design is nice and all feel different enough. They also force some weapon variety on you, because otherwise you get overwhelmed. Hope the will be new content soon.

I'm reviewing this as it stands in Early Access (update 0.2.3.0), which I normally avoid. Mech Havoc's bones are good enough for me to have faith that this will turn out as a great title. MH is graphically simple, but not bad looking. More important: the gameplay is solid. You choose your mission, then pick a vehicle--walking mecha, trucks (technicals), tracks (tanks), or hovercraft--and load it up with guns, rockets, or energy weapons, tack on a few support calls such as air strikes and…

Been having fun with it so far. I like how strong impacting weapons will knock the targets around keeping them from hitting you with their big guns, individual components being able to get damaged/destroyed on the larger enemies is nice too. I did end up changing my mouse 1 to 1+2 and mouse 2 to 3+4 to be able to fire all weapons without switching weapon sets. ammo is unlimited, so it's easy enough to have a set that reloads fast with a larger one to hammer groups or large enemy types. Being…

Has a lot of potential, definitely looking forward to new updates and the higher tiers. My only real gripes are that the scenes can feel a bit dead at times, could be livened up with foliage/critters ect to give more life to the maps. and second being that we're a one man army, which is fine in its own right but it feels like the player is the only mech on our side, maybe there could be some characters piloting allied mechs/tanks ect or even some missions where we have a base and need to…

We're just at the beginning of something great with this one! Played a few missions and unlocked several new tech nodes. Weapons feel great, destructible buildings, location damage on enemies and your own vehicles... this game is surprisingly polished for an early access. Of course balance will get smoothed out over the EA period, but I already like what's here. Would be great to be able to unlock partner mechs or supporting vehicles in the tech tree eventually to aid you as support options.

-FIRST 3 MISSIONS REVIEW- Tech Tree is a little rough to read at first but this isnt a huge issue! There seems to be a large variety of mechanically different weapons, ive only used a few different weapons and vehicles but they all play differently. Very promising and id say its worth the price!

I don't remember picking this game up but man am I glad I did! It is a rock solid top down vehicular combat game. The controls and functionality are very similar to Brigador, tank controls with individual reticles for the independent weapon systems. Weapons are pretty cool so far, especially when you fire off the gauss cannon for the first time! Do yourself a favor and go play this, it deserves your time.

(edit:YOU CAN REBIND CONTROLS TO FIRE ALL WEAPONS AT ONCE I JUST NOTICED AFTER 11 HOUR!) great game i think i beat all the missions after like 5-6 hours now after 10 its still kinda fun maybe 1-2 more hour before i finish the tech tree vehicles have weapon slots that can fit certain types and sizes but there are still small weapons in tier 3 so early vehicles can still be used late game plus modual that give buffs and debuffs can be super strong with the early vehicals

MechHavoc has the foundation for a great game. I like it, but can't recommend it in it's current iteration. The developers design choices have left me a bit irked; so I'd recommend to wait and see. The design choices that irk me: Quantity over quality missions: There are 30+ missions; but there's no sense of campaign progression. The mission flavortext in the menu is generic; there's very little enemy variety; the objectives are the same. There's no mission pre or post-briefing like with Ace…

Such simple, good fun! The tech tree thus far is pretty well laid out, and the options for what you can pilot are decently diverse. I can't wait for more maps, more mechs, and more mayhem! Honestly, this is a superbly thought out and well-developed game. It's worth the money now, and I trust it will be worth more in time! Idea for the devs: I would love to see an "endless" mode that procedurally gets harder and heavier, counting score until you die. This sort of game would be PERFECT for a…

Reached the end of the content so far. It was a blast! Makes it really feel like Battletech in how the weapons are layed out and the cooldowns. Obviously an inspiration and Mech Havoc nails the feel. I am excited to play again once it reaches full release, I know it will be worth it.

Got it to try it. Couldn't put it down lol. Love the upgrade tech tree especially how each weapon is still valid no matter the difficulty. I strongly recommend trying out different vehicles and weapons just for the fun. This is a fun one to play missions over and over if you want just to try new things out. And there is a tuk tuk and a Toyota pickup.... came for the mechs, went right back to toyota.

The only negative I can say is that there isn't more of this game yet. Best mech game I've played in a very long time, and That's... it honestly. Great weapons, fun mechs, missions don't suck (An escort mission where the escort has a ton of Hp *and* a good weapon? the madness!) and even better, it's not all mechs. You can mob on into combat on a three wheeled tuk tuk with a gun strapped on top, or a technical with swarm missile racks and outrun your enemies while raining down death.…

Where's this game been all my life? I used to wonder: "why can't somebody make MechWarrior as a top-down shooter" and this is the only genuine attempt I've seen. And despite being a very rare and unique example of that idea, this still pulls it off very well. Sure it's early access and the interface needs some work, but it's at a much better state than most work-in-progress titles, and the gameplay is exactly the vibe you'd expect from an old mech combat sim. Would be great to see new…

I don't have it in me to write a giant review for a game that's still in very early access. I'll say that as it is right now, MechHavoc is like one of those games you'd find back in the day on a flash game website that permanently changes your neural pathways. This is like a Bubble Tanks. Pick it up, it's pretty cheap and runs on basically anything. I enjoy firing the big cannon.

Got this game this game for free and I gotta say it was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ steal. Weapons and gameplay feel FANTASTIC, and I hope the lack of limited ammo/heat mechanics stick around. I will say, I feel like the art quality is misplaced. While you're in a mission youre usually so zoomed out from your mech/tank etc that you don't care what the sprites look like, but when youre in the menus everything is just simple 2 tone pixel art. Would like to see more love placed the out of mission art.…

Single Mech blows stuff up. Great default controller layout. Throwback industrial binky blonky music. Good sound effects. Guns have different sounds when they go click on reload. Graphic boom booms are satisfying. It's got a bunch of balancing issues that need to be sorted out but that's what early access is for. Game is still fun as is.

I thought this game would be a fairly standard top-down shooter, checking the boxes for the "vehicle action" subgenre. It is doing exactly that - you drive around, you shoot things, you do objectives. But it's honestly a very complete-feeling game that hits extremely well on the theme. Not too stressful, not too dark in the writing, lots of little toys to play with in the "garage", great set of options for QOL and personal taste. Highly recommended as a coffee-break-style game for anyone, but…

This game was a blast. It reminds me of the SNES game Mechwarrior 3050. It runs super smooth, no weirdness, controls are good. The menu is pretty bare bones, but not in a bad way. I would prefer more content being added then the menus messed with. Well worth the 10 bucks (less on sale). Took me about 7 hours to complete what's currently in the game. Very excited to see what gets added in the future.

Visuals and audio are super high quality, and, when you put them alongside the "weight" of the gameplay, it makes for a SUPER satisfying experience. Kudos to the dev. The price point is also right on the money imo. This is one to watch as development continues.

This game genuinely has no business being this good. After being on a mech kick thanks to a recent TTRPG campaign, was looking for something to scratch that itch. And honestly? It feels a lot like a mix of an old game called Future Cop L.A.P.D. meets Battletech / Mechwarrior. It's rough, but it has very good bones. Good game. It feels like a one or two dev team's labor of love. The vehicles can play very differently, the mechs are capable but not overpowered. Variety of choices in how to build your chosen vehicle/mech. Admittedly balance isn't perfect yet, but it's still quite a ways away from release. Still good enough to play and have fun with, and I'm glad to be here for the long haul. Every patch is going to be something good and more time and fun playing.

Mech is too slow, movement binding should not match screen orientation, it should match the mech orientation. ie. Forward should match the direction the mech is facing in. This makes aiming and movement confusing especially in the wheeled vehicles. Wheeled vehicles have no breaks or ability to make a sharp turns so you are going forward and backing up often which isnt natural. The controls need more depth as do the missions. strafing and dashing abilities to be able to dodge would help as…

This already feels and plays like a fully completed game. Can't wait to see more. One suggestion I have is that I'd like for the ballistic weapons to feel a little punchier. I'd like to see the barrels recoil a little more, I'd like to see improved hit effects, and I'd like the autocannons to have punchier, deeper sounds. I'd also really like to see ballistic rounds able to ricochet and throw sparks on glancing hits.

Fantastic sound and game design! There have been many comparisons to Brigador, and gameplay-wise, it is like a thinner flash-game version of that title. Main critique at this point is that there is just not that much here yet, and I expect to be able to commit war-crimes in mechy-stompy games (there is a distinct lack of war-crimes in this). Needs more missions, more mechs, more weapons, and of course, WAR CRIMES. Support this dev, we need more mechy-stompy games! Definitely worth a tenner.…
