60 of 189 · most liked firstI believe it's become incredibly easy to recognize a lazy Indie game nowadays, what with the abundance of Isaac-inspired clones put up for sale every Monday and Thursday on the Steam webstore. This time is no exception to that. In fact, the realization the game will never truly get better probably dawns on you as soon as you first boot it up, greeted by a main menu written in Times New Roman and some weird type of mouse acceleration preventing you from clicking buttons with precision (the menus…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The developer has revoked a batch of keys sold to Humble Bundle, which I was directly affected by. Despite paying for a bundle that included it 4 years ago while having no use for the key, as I already owned the game, I found an opportunity of sending it to a friend, who reported it was "already used". After contacting Steam support directly about the key, I was told "The CD Key for this game has been revoked by the game publisher. This can happen when a batch of keys are stolen, or perhaps…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To the developer of mana spark. Next time, when you say you support co-op, make sure it's real co-op. There's no energy bar for 2nd player and enemy never attacks it and when the 1st player dies, it's the end of the game. 2nd player is not like your mama cleaning up the ♥♥♥♥ that 1st player makes.

Shooting is more about precision and good aiming if you miss you lose your precious hit. Some foes have features or other equipment that block your arrows so keep aiming where they're vulnarable. Torches can be extinguished giving you element of surprise. Save game at campsites - generally mini souls like experience. Gameplay is good but controls are better with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fun and decent, but the fact that the screen shakes violently every time you hit an enemy makes it unplayable for me
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Edit: I ended up LOVING Mana Spark, despite not really vibing with it firsthand! Never would have though that I'd sink more than 20 hours into it, while having a brand new Hades copy at the same time. But here we are and I want to shed some more light into this little roguelike. The main critisisms stated below still hold up, don't get me wrong. But after finishing the game with all characters, despite some movement flaws (that I got used to I guess) I can comfortably say that I really…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm recommending this game simply in hopes that it gets more support and or the team just goes on to make something even better. This is not one of the best rouge likes out there and there’s a lot I don’t like about it but with a bit of polish it could be quite good. The good stuff: The different characters are great and change up the playstyle quite a bit The enemies are varied and learning their patterns is fun The level design is nothing outstanding but does the job Items and upgrades are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish I could like this game more than I do. Unfortunately, even after a post-1.0 content update, it still feels like a game in early access. There's a decent chassis of a game here. The dungeon crawling feel is quite good, and the atmosphere and music are nice, too. Unfortunately, Mana Spark is lacking both polish in gameplay and depth of content. The actual controls feel clunky - there are delays between button inputs and the actual activation of an attack or dodge. This is supposed to be…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unpolished game with unintuitive combat, lazy dungeon design with little to no replayability value. Some upgrades feel pointless since you can only choose one in each category, no builds no char customization (only 1 char special trait) whatsoever. The only saving aspect is the music.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It’s a very generic rogue-like with a basic UI that does not even fit the pixelated style of the game. Its look unfinished and the combat feels very basic to the point I really struggle to keep myself interested enough to play.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is very inconsistent with the transition between text and the overall graphics i wish that this game stuck to the same graphics scheme for the text and graphics that the rest of the game does and its not the best in the ways that people say it is the combat is a little sloppy and the movement is odd.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its fun but frustrating. runs where you dont get good powerups become a long annoying slog. it becomes challenging not due to its difficulty but rather because of the patience it requires to hit every single basic enemy on the map 5-20 times. kind of like nuclear throne if nuclear throne was boring.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't bother. It's as others have said, after just playing some really good roguelites this game has almost zero essence. The graphics and music are nice but it leaves much to be desired. A shame.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Combat is VERY slow and tedious, especially if you get bad powerups, and overall there is just not nearly enough variety to justify the "roguelike" design.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a good roguelike, but lacks content and it gets repetitive very quickly
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this on witch a few years ago and it infuriated the CRAP out of me. I ended up uninstalling and forgot it existed until recently. Turns out its pretty fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Floaty, imprecise controls suck every bit of fun out of this
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The persistent progression is quite limited, and the boss fights are underdeveloped both mechanically and visually. "Mana Spark" is not the worst rogue-lite out there, but I do not recommend it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's ok. There are lots of annoying bugs and poor design decisions. The one that particularly irks me is that they included a 2-player local coop mode (which is not listed on the store page), but made it the crappy "not actually real coop" type like Isaac has, where one player gets to play the game while the other is a minor supporting character. It makes the game stupidly easy, because the supporting character can attack and is invincible, but it's also significantly less fun because only…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →3/10 + its got local co-op - its sad local co-op
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →like wayward souls meats binding of issac, throw in a little risk of rain. not done yet, but just got to the last boss and the only thing I can complain about is its length - wish it were longer. more bosses. more everything. this game is so smooth, it could be my new go to, the new best - if it had more. still very good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a fairly short, but enjoyable roguelike. It offers four playable characters and, in my opinion, a lot of replay-ability. I'd recommend it :D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yea, this ain`t it. Do yourself a favour and play Hades, Risk of Rain 2 or something, anything but this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think the best way to sum this game up would be - a concise and capable roguelike for busy people. You won't be spending hundreds of hours on this game, but honestly that's refreshing. There's randomness and discovery to be had, but in a very tight and capable package. The combat feel in particular is very pleasing and has a heft to it. I, personally, had a delightful time with this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, I just couldn't finish it. The skill level of the last boss is just to high for me. The mechanics are fun. Each character is really unique there's two archer classes, a survivalist character that uses pets, and a warrior which is the hardcore character in my opinion.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worst version of Enter the Gungeon
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Challenging in a good way, but kind of boring. Itemization: never cared what I picked up. The first 3 character classes I played all felt identical. Meh.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not a bad game I just suck at it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple game. Simple pixel graphics. Simple fight. Permadeath. I was shocked!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game gets real old, real fast. There are 4 characters to choose from and they all have 1 attack and 1 active ability. While there are multiple active abilities, you're likely going to settle on your favorite one (you unlock a blacksmith which lets you always select your preferred ability). So pretty much for the entire game, you're going to be using the same attacks over and over again…… this gets old fast. The items that you can find in the game don't do much to change this because most…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to like this game. I'm a fan of roguelites, and I had obviously put it my wishlist for a reason! Here's the first problem, though: I knew this game had some sort of gimmick, but while I was playing, I couldn't figure out what it was. I had to go to the store page to figure it out. The enemies were supposed to be smart! They would work together, forcing me to strategize against them. But... did they? I mean, their shields seemed to eternally be in the way, and they would sort of clump…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →one of my fav games , started playing on switch , had to get it on pc
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played this game on switch years ago. It was mid, but after many years and updates, its good. The balance surprises me, but what isn't well balanced can be jarring. Bossfights get old fast and Hunter feels really difficult once you try the other characters.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game simples e cheio de dinâmica, com mais de 2000 horas ainda busco completar alguns desafios Sinto falta de uma dlc ou uma continuação com novos mapas e inimigos. Super recomendo!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A good game for people are getting into more roguelike but it gets quite repetitive in few hours.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Get Gud. Fun game but tough
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is unfinished and unpolished, don't recommend it. It doesn't fit to standards for the price, maybe try it when it is on sale or in some time. Movement feels wrong, the character keeps running after you release the button, looks ugly (first boss and some other sprites) and discordant with some of the art on the main menu for example; the first character is useless, the stage constantly blocks your projectiles and your character when trying to dash even if it doesn't seem like it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mana Spark is a pretty simplistic rouge-like that has more of a minimalist design direction. The mechanics, while simplistic, feel tight and responsive. The pixel graphics and art are charming while also doing a good job of communicating/telegraphing enemy behavior and attacks. The game isn't terribly long and in my experience is on the easier/more approachable sides of rouge-like games. All that said I found the core game play loop to be a fun experience with some nice variations in approach…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very fun boredom game,
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent game. I would say get it on sale as it is now. A bit sparse in features. Dungeons are repetitive but challenging, monster attacks are varied enough, the relic type power ups are neat and useful but there needs to be more going on. Features that spawn randomly in the dungeons that you can investigate and earn something, gold or runes or a powerup. So far, there are chests, the occasional character to set free and add to the roster, and a sacrifice alter that if you sacrifice life to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →decent dungeon crawl , but some levels are too simliar each different run and it becomes repetitive very fast. unbalance between character , unbalance gadget worth to try on sales for around 1$
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →well, the game isn't that bad, but some levels are too narrow and it becomes repetitive very fast.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/tlLucw-olBw A little rogue-like game which has some unique appeal, and it does seem like the Dev's are still actively working on it. The game might not be as polished as other that are available, but it has that certain "charm" in it, that keep it fun. I don't think you'll see anyone playing 100+ hours on it but it def can give you something different. The playable character each have there own strength and weakness and the runs can become different each time as you find…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is fun for what it is, definitely nothing revolutionary and far from being among the best in its genre, but regardless, fun in my opinion. Its upgrades, enemies, and even characters are far from unique, and for a roguelike, its replayability suffers as result; especially when compared to titans of the genre which can get many dozens or even hundreds of hours from a player. But then again, newer entrants into the genre may find this familiarity, relative simplicity, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →*The classic rogue like game with average story which does not even matter in the end. *The gameplay is kinda slow, and the bosses are lame once you played them 1 or 2 times. *The Buffs from the beginning does not really matter, although some upgrades you might choose are kinda broke. *The gadgets are either way useless AF, either way broken AF. *To be honest there are more reasons not to play this game but I am not going to lie, I had fun. *BTW Full Achievements.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →satisfying game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mana Spark is a terrific little dungeon crawling title with a surprising amount of depth and polish. The game has moderately simplistic enemy attack patterns. However, this is not necessarily a detriment as enemy attack speed, strength, and accuracy make it so that you must play carefully in all encounters lest you meet a fatal blow from that 'basic' foe you thought you'd easily dispatch a moment ago. The pixel art is very basic but charming in its own right. The lighting effects from lit…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A wonderful effort, its retro, its hard, its random, its roguelike (sort of roguelite) and most of all its fun. The game is very fluid and seems (so far) rather balanced. You get to explore floors and floors of dungeons, going from room to room with the clear cut objective of cleaning house. The amount of rooms and layout are randomly generated and at there are some special rooms every so often. The special rooms that come after moving from one general area to another (not sure how this is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not a horrible game, but there just isn't enough game there to keep me interested beyond my four-hour playtime. I enjoy the rouge-like genre, but this doesn't do it. Going back to the beginning and working your way back to the spot where you were killed to advance is exasperating. Not sure why it works with Caveblazers, Spelunky, and Rogue Legacy, but not here. Maybe it's because the options to improve the character really don't change your playstyle that much. Or maybe that the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR: Fun game, but falls short at the long run Great game for its price, it is definitly entertaining, as a concept I think is very cool, and I got adicted to end it, however, it can still do better, there are just a few characters and only 3 bosses, and it gets repetitive in the end, also I think the game forces you to use a specific playstyle.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty short but good fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is definitely a rogue game. Reminds me of Rogue legacy to an extent. You start off as a basic archer. Then upgrade over time. With items etc. The one difference is the characters aren't randomly generated. The Dungeons are however. Unique items make the game keep interesting. Challenging bosses can all eventually be defeated with progression. Just keep going. It is worth the buy.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It sparked my mana, would recommend. Also some partial spoilers and things to mention - Mana Spark is decent for its price and incredible on sale. Why? - it is now long, interesting, and challenging enough to warrant enough gameplay for what you pay - it is fun to exploit the systems of the game (some items interact with the games mechanics in exploitable ways that are fun for a player like myself) - the starting character remaining still for a second when they fire means you have to be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tl;dr: Small indie gem that is a bit rough around the edges but is worth playing if you are into rogue-lites/likes, especially if it is on sale. The good: - Room randomisation and itemisation make it so it's different enough each run so that it doesn't get too boring too quickly. - Enemies are interesting enough and have patterns you need to learn to counter. - There is some variety in the characters you can play. - Has a nice replay feature which allows for gif saving. The not so good: - UI…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Liked it a lot. Feels good to become skilled at it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is really good, while it will take some time to get used to each of the characters weapons and how to use their abilites never mind the sacrifical sections in way to benefit your self. Other then that the only real bad thing I can say about it is that the devs fails to update the page regularly so that one can know that the game right now have local co-op for example (although it would great if one could play online multiplayer with other people)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is cute and difficult. It's easier to play it with keyboard and mouse rather than controller. Sadly there isn't much to the game and it seems to have been abandoned. A shame, because it's a good little game.
