unlabelledView post →Quick shout-out for Lunark! Disappointed in the disappointing Flashback remake and awful Flashback 2? This game is basically what should have gotten the time in the spotlight.
unlabelledView post →Lunark was released yesterday! ✨ I played it all evening long non stop. I loved it 🤩 The worthy heir of Flashback, Prince of Persia and Another World. Thanks to the developer @johanvinet 😀❤️ #Lunark #CinematicPlatformer #Flashback #PrinceOfPersia #AnotherWorld

unlabelledView post →Hello there! My name is Johan, your average “multidisciplinary creative person”. I just ended a 4+ years journey by releasing my indie game LUNARK. I’m pretty close to figure out what is coming next. Stick with me if - like me - you’d like to know what that is! ☺️
unlabelledView post →And since we're at it, my first chil... game 🌙LUNARK is also a few bucks on #Steam! 🖤Steam: store.steampowered.com/app/1050370/...
unlabelledView post →Game 5/26: LUNARK A delightful old skool cinematic platformer (by @johanvinet.com) that is both a heartfelt loveletter AND a proper spiritual sequel to "Flashback", rotoscoped cutscenes included. The game does A LOT with its mechanics, but still feels breezy and fun! It is also VERY colourful 😉
unlabelledView post →If you have a fondness for the cinematic platformers of the past, you owe it to yourself to check out LUNARK! A great game that you can beat in a couple of sittings!
unlabelledView post →These are some of my #Gamedev bucket list games: 🏎️Racing Game: I worked on Formula One 2016 Mobile but I'd love my own arcade racing game! 🏃♂️Platformer Adventure: Flashback inspired (like Lunark) or just a simple fun game. 🪐Sci-Fi city builder for mobile: The game I want to play but doesn't exist!
unlabelledView post →My “games I should play and movies I should watch” list is so long I’m finally playing a game I enjoyed following the development of on… pre-X Twitter. 😅 Anyway, finally working through Lunark and it’s as fun and as beautiful as I had hoped. Very Prince of Persia/Another World inspired gameplay.
unlabelledView post →This week on the podcast reviewed the Sci-Fi adventure game LUNARK. It is a great time, Thank you @johanvinet.com and Canari games for a review code. They also made the game Castaway which I have reviewed (Thank you for that code) open.spotify.com/episode/6io6... open.spotify.com/episode/1xe5...

unlabelledView post →@radicaldefect.bsky.social Hey! Not sure if you saw this yet since I don't believe the dev is on Bluesky but this game was announced yesterday by the same dev who created Lunark and it looks especially right up your alley. 😃

Canari Games is a Canadian studio, currently working on #LUNARK, a colorful 2D cinematic platformer, published by @wayforward & COMING SOON™ on Switch, PS4/PS5, Xbox systems, PC/Mac. 💾 Physical versions by @LimitedRunGames. 💜Demo/Follow/Wishlist: http://bit.ly/LunarkSteam #introduction #gamedev #LUNARKtheGame
unlabelledView post →@dannyodwyer.bsky.social just listening to your love for OG Prince of Persia. It was the only game I had for years on my Dads janky janky old B&W work laptop. Have you ever heard of or tried Lunark? It’s a love letter to those old rotoscoped 2D platformers.
unlabelledView post →Man, Lunark reminds me of the original all right. And another game, I played on the Amiga with the force shield and laser. Outer Limits? 1990ish?
unlabelledView post →Beside some mechanics I didn't like (like not being able to save my game) I enjoyed my time with Lunark. I'd buy the vinyl record if I'd the money to do so. Making my keyboard rumble when petting kitties was a nice touch (no I am a PC played, I don't play with a lowly gamepad 🤥)
unlabelledView post →@Varyag I've got a number of #PlatformerGames collected in http://sylvainhb.blogspot.com/search/label/SurSwitch ... I'd especially recommend #Marsupilami (DKC-like), #TinyThor (tough, but beautiful) and #EagleIsland and #Lunark by CanariGames, of course ;-)
unlabelledView post →Absolutely adore Flashback! Many happy memories of playing it on the Megadrive. Have you played Lunark? Another rotoscoped game which seems to be inspired by Flashback and Another World.
unlabelledView post →Lunark is a great homage to Flashback, really loved the game👍 I had a question about Lunark : is the name of the planet a reference to the (much less colorful) Albarine valley in France ?
unlabelledView post →Lunark was around 40k on release but those ended up being « bad wishlists ». Too old, lots of backers in there… the game was nowhere to be found on the trending parts of Steam on release day.
unlabelledView post →Learnt on twitter this morning: - #lunark on #nintendoswitch is on sale - SuperStars Saga, the Mario game I first played on my #NintendoDS is 20 years old today - there's an ad every 5th tweet. The soonest I can get out of that trap, the best.
unlabelledView post →If you played Flashback and liked it, you MUST grab LUNARK. And I'm not only saying this because I backed this incredible game on Kickstarter, but because I'm a proud backer of it, Johan did a superb fantastic fenomenal work here <3 YOU SHOULD PLAY THIS GAME!
unlabelledView post →I don't know how many other folks have played it, but I really have been enjoying Lunark on my Steam Deck lately. So many Outer of this World/Another World vibes. Highly recommended. #Lunark https://store.steampowered.com/app/1050370/LUNARK/

unlabelledView post →I'm weak, and backed another game on Kickstarter: #LUNARK. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/canarigames/lunark Endorsement from Jordan Mechner, inspired by such games as Prince of Persia, Flashback and Another World, with beautiful retro-style pixel art, and a soundtrack that's promising to be similarly great.
unlabelledView post →Lunark is a beautiful flashback/out of this world like narrative platforming game All Shantae games are fun retro platforming goodness Switch force is great platform puzzling fun And River City Girls Zero is a re-titled fun SNES kunio-kun series co-op beat’em-up game.
unlabelledView post →@johanvinet.com I found an amusing bug in Lunark during the penitentiary level. (I tried to grab the ledge just before the elevator arrived) I won't let that stop me enjoying the game though! Look at him go!
unlabelledView post →LUNARK ($4.99, 207 reviews) - Okay fair, it's slightly above 200 reviews, but I gotta elevate a modern day Flashback. Rotoscoped animations, deliberate motion commitment, shooting and puzzling, everything you'd expect and want from a modern take on a Delphine game.
unlabelledView post →Lunark (2023) sitting between Another World and Flashback in terms of gameplay and complexity,Lunark is a breezy entertaining cinematic platformer.Filled with frequent quick beautiful cutscenes, you play as a young man framed for a crime whilst solving an ancient mystery. Well worth its 4-5 hours.
unlabelledView post →I recently rolled credits on Lunark, and man, it’s a great game. Very much designed in the style of Flashback but I think it’s way more playable. It’s on sale right now and I highly suggest you pick it up.
unlabelledView post →That Steam link has a typo. Lunark is a great game, got it on Switch.
unlabelledView post →Lunark The first game i ever Kickstarted
unlabelledView post →It’s honestly the best game I’ve played in the “cinematic platformer” style. His other game Cast Away is good too, but Lunark shouldn’t be missed.
unlabelledView post →#game #lunark #oldschool I just saw this 2023 game that is inspired on "Out of this World". This game, and "Flashback" were unbelievably magical to me in the 90s. https://youtu.be/mU1fn-uJULI?si=n26ZHJCrhgXIxzgq
unlabelledView post →I got Lunark from the Kickstarter (on Xbox, and it's a damn great game). But I meant "Castaway" which sounds like a fun thing to play. 😊

unlabelledView post →July 2023, #lunark final boss ... https://x.com/pypebros/status/1680889696644403200. One comment from my bro ("you got it on Switch, after all"). One comment from indie-twitch-streamer (https://pursuingpixels.carrd.co/) that he's got to try this one. It's one of the game I participated for the fundraising and enjoyed following the development with @johanvinet posting action videos and rotoscoping on regular basis ^_^
unlabelledView post →guessing that one reason we don't see more of these is that the expense/effort increases linearly with game length. what negative steam reviews there are for LUNARK all mention having to restart from the beginning of a chapter so that's in the tradition
unlabelledView post →It's an indie sci-fi platform game from France called Lunark, that I got from Steam. I loved it. It's along the lines of Prince of Persia.
unlabelledView post →Oh, I beat Lunark, a throwback platform game that's bullshit, but I'll give it a pass. Mileage may vary: backloggd.com/u/Daav/revie...
unlabelledView post →Pretty happy with the first few levels of #Lunark on the #SteamDeck. Definitely better controls than the Flashback remake I tried on Switch.

unlabelledView post →@[email protected] I've not had much time to play for a good while & when I have I've mostly been playing familiar titles. I eventually managed to get on with #NoMansSky completing a permadeath run to get my final achievements earlier in the year. I still dip in to #GenerationZero although each update takes it further from the game I used to lose myself in. I launched #Lunark, #PlanetOfLana, #Somerville and #TheLastCaseOfBenedictFox but despite liking all of them, I haven't had time to go…

unlabelledView post →Flashback's one of my all-time fave games, so it's no great surprise that I'm enjoying #Lunark, which is definitely an homage to Flashback, the main character has pretty much the same moves and even the same clothes. It doesn't feel like a rip-off though, the setting feels quite different. https://youtu.be/mU1fn-uJULI
unlabelledView post →I did it! I finished #Lunark! I almost never finish games. Loved it, highly recommended. #SwitchCorps
unlabelledView post →So enjoying @johanvinet's new game #Lunark on #NintendoSwitch. I can't recall being this hooked on a game since... maybe #Gris or #GolfStory or #Firewatch? Anyway, I don't finish many games, and I'm really close to completing this one. ★★★★★
