60 of 97 · most liked firstGame would be great if endless mode didn't punish for being efficient. Enemy HP scales with your damage done? Enemy damage done scales with your armor? What's the bloody point of upgrading your deck then? Am I supposed to intentionally play bad for 100 rounds and only upgrade 1 piece after every battle to not be out scaled just to make it further? No thanks. Why the hell make a game punish your player? "Endless is tough to balance" - Well, it shouldn't be balanced. It should be a constantly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well I certainly played it enough that me giving it a thumbs down is a bit disingenuous, but it's always the things you like that disappoint you the most, you know? I'll give it a thumbs up, but I'm not really happy about it. I just don't think downing on a well-made indie game has any merit if it managed to entertain me for this long. The creator is doing a decent job of creating new content and keeping the ball rolling, and I don't mind that there's basically only one mode (endless, cause…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game is fun, but regardless how "lucky" you are, you will never out-level the mobs to farm some more gold, they ALWAYS scale with each of your deck upgrade
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a good little deckbuilding / roguelite game and its worth the price
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lucky Hunter by 159 Studio is an outstanding deck-building auto battler rogue-like game. In this game, pieces are automatically placed on the battlefield, and matching three of them levels them up for the next round, making you stronger to face the final boss. You have the freedom to choose your path on each procedurally generated hunting map. Choose wisely, as each node can lead to a battle, various shops, cool enchantments, events, and more. Beat the game to unlock endless mode. Settings:…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You don't play the game; you just pick cards and watch it play itself.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun, very cheap, bag builder. Cute graphics, and runs well even on a tater. A bit slow at first, but once you unlock a few sets, it really takes off. Runs take about an hour, so that's a plus as well.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I finally decided it was time to put myself through the task of getting 2 hours into this slop. Hopefully this review serves as a warning to people who saw videos and thought this game was going to be enjoyable. First issue is the meta progression system. After every run, you gain enhancements that will make subsequent runs different, if you've played roguelikes before, this should not be news to you. What SHOULD come as a surprise to you is how atrocious this system is in this game. It…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feels like you're watching, not playing. Very little strategy. Boring pretty quickly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really hate that you have to unlock more content or choose pure power upgrades with the meta progression, the initial content is awfully restrictive, you basically get 3 pieces to play with so you have to grind to get more content before it becomes fun. (I've unlocked 3 more packs of around 4-5 pieces in 1 hour) But overall, its cheap, its fun after grinding some unlocks, its not too long of a grind at least. I hope there's increased variety of actual choices and strategy in the future, it's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is absolutely criminal how hard it goes. This is the ♥♥♥♥. Insanely good. But infusions are kinda meh, pretty giga meh as a mechanic. Pretty fast as a player you better start skipping turns instead of adding new items into your deck. It is worth its money, but needs just a little bit of a push to be a titan. Also, scaling based on current stats of the player sometimes feels ass
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's a good amount of game here packed at a reasonable price. It's a deckbuilder roguelite with the interesting premise of having a grid you randomly place your pieces on. As you fill your deck - and thus, the board - what you're doing in battle increases. Empty spaces provide no benefit, so picking any card to fill the space is a plus. As you get MORE cards than there are spaces, though, which pieces end up on the board and which ones stay in your deck become important. With the number…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When I started it it was kinda okayish and a decent timekiller on the side. Two days later and I'm absolutely addicted and can just grind it for hours at a time. Great game. Extremely addicting when you have a good endless run going
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An enjoyable, addictive game. There is a reasonable amount of strategy - although nothing too complex (well it does get complex, but decisions are still quite easy). The games go on a little long. First try I beat normal mode. Second try I beat the first 'round' of endless. Third try I have to call a stop to my run after beating stage 200. The reason is that fights are now taking 15 minutes to finish due to my computer slowing down too much. My damage is up to quintillions (not sure why…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played the demo a load of times. The full game is massively expanded. The bonuses and units are really varied and all have massively different effects on how you play the game. So much replay ability. I'm going to end up sinking a lot of time in this game. Totally recommended, especially at the very low price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Deserves more attention. Compelling & hard to put down, but has some balance issues which become glaringly obvious in Endless mode. Grinding to talent completion will take quite awhile; each run takes 20-30m. The English translations are also not-so-great. That said, it's well worth the money. I've gotten 15hrs out of it so far, and expect to get to 20 at least. Mod or Steam Workshop support would add a ton of replay value.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I picked this up after seeing a playthrough from Tom Francis (the developer of Heat Signature, Gunpoint, and Tactical Breach Wizards). I think it's fair to say he enjoyed it more than I did but it's pretty fun, as far as it goes. The systems are fun to puzzle out, and doing a run is pretty quick and breezy. The downside is there's not a lot of meat on these bones, and the progression mechanics are pretty thin. But hey, it's cheap. It's times like this I wish I could leave a neutral review.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For five bucks? Sure. It's Luck Be A Landlord with a match-3 merging mechanic that makes building your "deck" feel pretty darn good. A nice variety in the different deck archetypes, and the mixing of them leads to some fun combos. Pretty much done with it after ~7 hours (unlocked all the different decks, won with most of them) and I'm happy with the purchase :)

unlabelledView post →very little strat. just pick a card and watch random stuff
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You select a card every 6 seconds and watch the game play. Choosing card isn't fun, the artifacts are not interresting. "Building a unique deck", doesn't feel unique, unlocking new units is boring.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"A Fun, Chaotic Roguelike Marred by Awful Music." Lucky Hunter is a unique blend of an autobattler and card game that immediately caught my attention due to its distinctive mechanics. Despite being a relatively simple game, it offers engaging and chaotic battles that make each run exciting. The mix of different mechanics keeps things fresh, and for the low price, it's hard to argue against the value it provides. One of the strongest aspects of Lucky Hunter is how fast-paced and engaging the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well worth the price, fun to unlock everything and play with the combos though it's replay value isn't the highest. I think there's a lot of potential to expand on this format.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Solid roguelike deckbuilder
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great game please let us choose our starting relic
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its a great game, there are a lot of builds that you can go for a while with and its great fun when you use different starting sets to build new and weird sets.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some from Lucky to be a landlord, something from Slay the Spire, something from Balatro (but only good stuff), something from that roguelike with dices... And it's really good mixed! A lot of different styles to play
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fantastic game when you consider the price (~$8 CAD). Assuming you enjoy deckbuilder/slot roguelikes. Fair warning though - If you're a completionist and want to 100% this game there's a particular achievement that's truly obnoxious.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm surprised by how good this little game is. It combines roguelike, deckbuilding, auto battler gameplay in a fun way and has a lot of upgrades/unlocks to keep you motivated for a long time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very cute deckbuilder that has a good amount of depth with the sorts of builds that you can do. I have only scratched the surface, but I can't really see this being a game that people grind like Slay the Spire or Stacklands. However, it's well worth the $6 price tag. Definitely a very refreshing gaming experience. I hope to eventually unlock everything and see how far I can go in Endless Mode.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enjoyed it so far! Fun chill game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a regular reviewer but thought i would for once. TL:DR: Do recommend, It's pretty good value. Cranked the demo something chronic. It was pretty damn moreish. I bought the game and was surprised to see that there's a tonne of extra stuff on top of a different game mode and I see a bunch of extra hours being put it in. Yeah, it's a grind but it had my attention the whole time and it was enjoyable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lucky Hunter, developed by 159 Studio and published by indienova, is a roguelike deck-building experience that merges auto-battler mechanics with strategic route planning and procedural progression. Rather than placing emphasis on real-time player input during combat, the game challenges you to construct an effective lineup of pieces, manage synergies, and navigate branching maps that determine the rhythm and difficulty of each run. The result is a tightly designed loop built around…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is like a weird lovechild between Slay the Spire and Cookie Clicker. It's charmingly clunky, a bit confusingly translated, but all in all, very satisfying the more runs you play. If you like trying indie titles, the games I mentioned, and keep in mind that it is niche/clunky, you will probably enjoy it. It's cheap, cute, good, but far from polished. I think if it was better translated or the stats/mechanics explained more clearly, I would recommend it whole heartedly. A small update…

unlabelledView post →Nicely executed roguelike, with a nice progression feeling, that has plenty of interesting strategic dynamics: the deckbuilding aspect of the game is novel and really grows on you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had a lot of fun with this one! The game leans closer to the cozy size than challenging, it is not particularly hard to put together a deck that can beat the game (or get above stage 150 in endless mode, which is the achievement). The enjoyment comes out of unlocking new decks, and seeing new unique ways of merging advanced units. They also have a small discord where they frequently answer questions.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →LIke another commenter said, it feels a bit disingenuous giving this a thumbs down because I actually do enjoy it but I'm going ahead with it anyway. Honestly I expected a fully translated game and if I had known that some pieces have no English translation whatsoever, I would not have purchased this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super simplistic gameplay, but highly addictive all the same. Pick a card, it gets randomly placed on the board every turn along with all the other cards in your deck. Rely on statistical luck to combine your pieces and attack/defend against enemies.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Addictive, Can use a more robust progression system.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it a nice little passe time
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →banging little number out of nowhere. simple little tactical clicker that is deceptively very clever - what starts as a few obvious clicks quickly turns into some serious decision making. there are skills to master if you want to get good, and balancing space against options to turn rng in your favor whilst keeping the health bar in the positive is a very fun problem to have. really good stuff.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super fun little dopamine machine. A little rough around the edges but I imagine those aspects will improve with time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely fantastic game. Huge amount of content, amazing build diversity. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's good and it's fun, but it's a tad too easy. The combos are all too obvious if you've played anything like Slay the Spire, and the meta progression feels waaay too strong.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yea, it's definitely good with tons of replayability. It's like Endgame of Devil but better.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Once I had found the demo, i was hooked. With the full released, I can see myself logging in some unexpected hours into this game. The hidden combos are a run addition and all the different themes are so much fun and keeps making it challenging every play though. I really love this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is great! Really fun to just chill with or min/max if you're in the mood. Pretty much unlocked everything on the Demo and when I installed it had kept my progress and added loads more to unlock which is a classy move on the Dev's part. All in all just a fun, rapid and addictive game. Well worth a few quid.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is just whatever and stupidly difficult for no reason, there no real strategy you can really have until you have unlock a lot of the meta progression. Its jut incredibly grindy and not interesting
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun little game, lots of build variety
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun to play and enjoyable, easy build although at the end also easily dead in sec, the unlimit mode enemy is too fast raise up state and easy kill us at the end.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game. Similar to other Roguelike "Slot"-builders, but with some twists. It's not terribly complex or deep, but for the price it was enjoyable and relaxing. I beat the game's normal mode in about 2 hours after several unlocks, but I'm also very good at these games AND I had a very lucky run, including a VERY lucky 1st attempt on the final boss. It was cool, though, to get amazing synergies with "cards" and artifacts and just feel so powerful. Also, artifacts can be upgraded, which I felt…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought it and played nearly 5h in a row. The idea is quite simple but it's very addictive, love it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →$6 dopamine simulator, with a demo, try it, buy it, love it. its so worth the price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great Game very good for turning off my brain and just playing
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game simply isn't fun at all. I bought it because it's on sale but it would have been nice to have a mac demo available (pc only...?) so that I didn't have to waste my time or the developer's getting a refund. The tool tips don't always make any sense, either I'm not understanding what the ability was supposed to do or it just doesn't work, but since this game isn't well made we'll never know. Good luck READING the tool tips, as the red and blue font on light grey is almost unreadable.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(A lot of time was just the game running in the background; stopped after unlocking all factions, but only unlocked a few of the other roguelite bonuses). One of the beautiful things about having a game where you mix-and-match various factions is seeing the way the different factions' cards and mechanics work together. Somewhere in Lucky Hunter's design, this was almost entirely lost; most factions are extremely parasitic (with effects that only benefit themselves or specifically rely on other…
