60 of 122 · most liked firstThis game is clearly a massive step down in terms of difficulty compared to the original. One of my favourite parts of LP1 was being walled on a difficult stage for a bit & finally overcoming it. There were many stages that were a challenge to get 3 stars on. I think this happened maybe ONCE while trying to get 3 stars on every stage in this game. This might be a positive to those who found the original too difficult, but I was hoping for more challenge, not less. The ying-yang variant of each…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →every level felt the same, every world the enemies are the same but have new hats, the music felt less energetic than the original. i think they lost sight of why people enjoyed the first one, and that's that it LOOKS like a cute game but its actually pretty hard. this was shockingly easy compared to the original.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's different, but i quickly got used to it. very much enjoyed my time with this game and would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the first (or any in the series), although it is noticeably easier to complete. time attack movement is different - this time you have to strafe to aim for the top times. climbing terrain is very easy, similar to how it was in Super Lovely Planet. i think it is a great sequel.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty good follow up to Lovely Planet 1. There were a few problems at launch but the dev has got those issues fixed now. It is easier but its still just as fun. My only complaint is that there isn't as much baddie variety. Homing baddies, random bullets, and blue baddies have been replaced with a love angel that quickly homes onto you and tries to smooch you. While the new baddie is a great replacement for random bullets, it still feels a bit lacking without homing baddies. I think they may…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The sequel to Lovely Planet and the 4th release set in the Lovely Planet universe. In this cute family-friendly shooter, you will be challenging your parkour skills across a floating world where one missed jump can mean disaster. You will need to defeat the mean red enemies while avoiding shooting the friendlies who are also present on the map. You will need to reach the goal for each level in a set amount of time. There are environmental challenges at play that change in their dynamics through…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuIwVJRbcnc A colourful and minimalist looking FPS game, which is the sequel to Lovely Planet. It's fun to speed through the levels and world to reach the end while dodging and shooting those angry red blocks. There is a lot of levels and and gameplay to jutsify the cost. Each level you can earn three stars, for completing the level, finishing within a certain time and getting 100% shooting accuracy. So you can come back to the levels you haven't all the starts…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Exactly what I wanted PITCH Lovely Planet 2 is a cutesy but difficult FPS platformer with an emphasis on speedrunning and accuracy. There are 4 Lovely Planet games, and I've enjoyed every single one of them. So when I heard my favorite of the series, Lovely Planet, got a sequel, I was super excited and had to pick it up day 1. LEVELS You go through about 5 worlds throughout 100 levels. Each level is pretty short and can be beaten in less than a minute. Environments are pretty samey for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the sudden spike in difficulty is so harsh and rediciolous that it kills any kind of joy. the level of frustation is waaayyy greater than the satisfaction of finishing a level.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Is is another Lovely Planet game, yes. First things first, casual playthrough isn't as great, levels are a lot more simple and easy. Several levels are locked as hidden levels which you have to find and shoot a darker civ and wait a few seconds before you can access them. For speedrunning, lets start with the physics, strafing (running diagonally i.e. W+A) lets you run substantially faster. Some people like it as it makes for a 'higher skill-cap' game but really its just a huge pain in the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After playing lovely planet 1 this game brings me similar feelings to the first one but one of the key differences is that it is a ton faster but still really fun to play!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →just as bad as the 1st one
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lovely Planet 2 is a great game, but may not appeal to you as much as the original did. My favorite aspect of these games has been the soundtrack, and while this track is still excellent, it relies a bit too heavily on the first game. I also enjoyed the difficulty of the first game but found it to be a bit too twitchy at parts. Well I feel the sequel over-corrects, and is now far too easy throughout the game. There are a few aspects that are simply solid improvements though. The most obvious…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game feels like a step back from Lovely Planet in almost every way. very few new graphic assets, no new environments, fewer visual details overall level-to-level music is all new and sounds okay, but the first's was better The gameplay does feel more polished. Enemies appear where you expect them to and levels generally flow well. Though, there isn't as much variety. Game is easier overall, even in the "hard mode," which as far as I can tell just adds maybe 2 or 4 enemies/apples to every…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I agree that the first 5 worlds felt too easy, especially after finishing the last levels of the first one, but they were still fun. World 6, Abyss, is crazy though. I assume it was added later, bc the other reviews don't mention it. Not a huge fan of the Strafe Walking so far, but it's fine. Kind of changes the pace a lot. Only problem I have so far is that once you've set a time, you can afaik no longer see what time you'll need for the third star.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is perfect for practicing aim and generally just having a good time. Stick some music on, pick a level and start shooting. Dont let the pastel playground-type vibe fool you, this game is difficult. Many of the levels require very quick reactions and even better aim. Oh and there is no reticle. You just have to get a feel for where the gun shoots. You'll find yourself progressively getting better and better and breezing through levels that you wouldn't believe are even possible when…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is... fine. The fact that I can complete the entire game, all secrets, hard mode & all, in under 7 hours, which is half the time it took me to get through the original game once, even excluding secrets, is... well, disappointing, this is a much, much easier game even if it technically has more content. The game still plays fine enough - everything moves a bit faster, technically, and I believe hard mode ups the speed of the game even further, but at the same time there's not much that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't usually recommend playing a sequel first, however Lovely Planet 2 is an exception. This game effectively nails down the mechanics of the original, allowing it to feel super smooth & fun. Especially for a Precision Fps, I legitimately have fun playing this! Unlike the original, you can playthrough the entire Main Level-Set without being forced to do anything super Top-Level. The mechanics always feel intuitive and consistent. The game is fair and when I fail, I know for sure it's my…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →yeah its good, but its kinda dumb making all chapters real easy, and the last one very difficult
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lovely Planet 2 is ironically not the 2nd game in the series but the 4th one, this time going back to its original format of gameplay hence why this is lovely planet 2! The gameplay is much better than lovely planet 1 on almost every front, its the usual format: shoot all baddies, don't shoot buddies and get to the end asap, there's a star for base clear, one for a time trial and one for 100% accuracy, i still have my gripes with 100% accuracy requirement but the level design this time around…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this during April for the namesake. I enjoyed this FPS speedrun game a lot because the easier levels felt amazing to ace on the first try, and conversely the more difficult stages were so satisfying to memorize and finally get that three star on.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game should be considered a drug.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the most competitive game for speed running there is
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the base game's a hell of a lot easier than Lovely Planet 1 was, Mountains for example falls over without much effort even on hard mode. Abyss more than makes up for this oversight by cranking the difficulty up to 11. Levels like 6-15, 6-21, 6-22, and all the Hidden levels will push you to your limit. Acing each level felt immensely satisfying, it was like finally breaking down a brick wall only to find another one ready to be broken. there's no better feeling than finally Acing the last level…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lovely Planet 2 is an enjoyable aim training arcade-like experience, kind of in the vein of light-gun games except with a mouse and keyboard, with a minimalistic vibrant aesthetic which is accompanied by a soundtrack which perfectly matches the game’s visual design. Reaching the credits is pretty simple the first time around, mainly due to the game’s easy starting difficulty and the fast-paced addictive nature of the gameplay. It is easy to end up in a flow state and just play level after…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Surprisingly judged this one before I should have. Progressively gets more fun and challenging in an addicting way. Also graphics 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Too Easy, Too Easy!", this reviewer cried. Till he reached World 6, and the difficulty spiked. Hard Mode unlocked too: every level's now tougher, more hectic, more fun - if you like to suffer. There's more stars to gain and secrets galore, this game gets from me: an excellent score!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you want a game to rage at, this is it. The good kind of rage though, where you're raging at yourself for being so trash at the game, instead of the bad rage where you rage at the game itself.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"It's like if LocoRoco was a shooter." After 100%-ing the five worlds, I can confirm that this game is nice. It's pretty easy, save a few secret levels, the expanding red balls, and the entire fog section, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Now to play the Zen levels! Or the the 6th new world! Edit: WHO MADE THE SIXTH WORLD AND WHY IS IT SO HARD
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I haven't had the chance to play the first Lovely Planet game but after going through 3 zones, I'd say I'm super interested to check it out myself now! :) From what I've seen, Lovely Planet 2: April Skies has all the charm, the aesthetics and the super fast-paced, FPS gameplay of the original game. This game isn't too difficult for the average midcore gamer (at least the first 3 zones; have had to repeat several levels multiple times), though I'm guessing the levels might be a bit too easy for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →didn't play the first game, but damn it has some quick gameplay. love it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great sequel, sadly it's a bit easier than the first game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay let me say something first, I absolutely adore the first Lovely Planet, it's one of my favorite games ever. Now, I see some people giving Lovely Planet a negative review because it's easier than the first one. Don't get me wrong the game IS easier, but I just cleared all the normal stage and legacy stages. I still had a blast. Calum is still killing it with the OST and the game is as lovely as it can get. I finished all the levels but it doesn't mean that it's over, there is a "hard mode"…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thoroughly enjoyed it like the first one. Overall, it feels and looks a lot more polished. The secrets were fun to find. The first time through the levels is definitely significantly easier than the first game, but you can go through them again on a harder difficulty after having finished the game first. As a returning player, I wished I could've skipped to the harder levels, but I thought this was a much better ramping up of difficulty, so it makes sense for new players.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i really hate to do this, but i think i have to leave a negative review. I love lovely planet a whole lot so I was very excited for a sequel, but unfortunately it seems like everything about april skies is worse than the first game. now to be clear this is not really a bad game, but its not great either, especially when directly comparing to LP1. worse physics, controls, customization/menus, music (i love boen but this ost wasnt hitting me the same way LP1's did), sound design, and most…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →had a lot of issues on launch that are now fixed. fun game, though it's much easier than the first. the decision to release the game without a functioning keybinding menu is very questionable, but at least it's being added. the cfg file (Steam\steamapps\common\Lovely Planet 2\AprilSkies_Data\cfg) is at least very easy to edit in notepad.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yet another Lovely Planet. If you like speedruning type games, or quake, you'll like this series.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's possible to refund the game once you beaten it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely fun game, in my opinion nailed everything the first game did and continued to make improvements. The tracking bullets are way more manageable and shots are way more forgiving with the larger bullet hitbox, but it doesn't take the difficulty of the game away (especially considering hard mode abyss is fantastically more difficult than any of LP1), just makes it feel like you are in slightly more control. While I was playing a new update got pushed out and there were some small bugs,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't think I'm this game's intended audience. It immediately throws you in to shoot red blocks... that's it. And that's okay! just not for me. (:
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →♥♥♥♥. This. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Game. Seriously. ♥♥♥♥.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No "Meh" option on steam, so I'll say no. This game looks really good, the visuals are nice, the soundtrack is good. However, don't let the visuals deceive you. Lovely Planet 2 is extremely unforgiving. The gameplay is horrible. There is no crosshair, and the projectiles move extremely slowly. The main gimmick in the game is the apples. Once you hear the sound, there will be an apple falling from the ground. You have no idea where it is most of the time, so you frantically look around. You see…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i was a fan of the first lovely planet game. it was quirky and cute, with a good soundtrack. but this game is just... not fun. it is constantly railing you over and over again with dumb ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. the cherry bombs, the entirety of the swamp level, and the fact that you pretty much have to play any given level 5-10 times over and over to get three stars. honestly, stick to the first one, and hope that (if there is a third game) the next effort has better level design.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A trial-and-error score-based FPS that tests your twitch skills but happens to be wrapped in a cute hometown Japanese childlike aesthetic is still enthralling in a sequel. Each world comes with new ideas and challenges enough that when you're doing really well, you're in the zone of dodging bullet-fast evil faces, zipping between the angel faces mid-air without ever touching the ground, shooting the apple, and landing on just the right spot to then knock out a few angry faces and hurtling past…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just as lovely as the first game, but not nearly as difficult. I'd say this sequel improves on almost everything from the original. Movement and shooting is a lot faster and feels more responsive - playing through the original now feels like you're playing in slow motion. The levels are also shorter, which I personally like because it makes the difficult ones feel less exhausting. They've made restarting levels when you die a lot quicker. And the music is still great. That being said, it's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good game, much like the original just a little too easy
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I absolutely loved Lovely Planet, and Lovely Planet Arcade was an alright game in the end but this sequel to the original has its heart in all the right places! It has the same feel as the original Lovely Planet and a new movement mechanic and even more hidden stuff! If you want more of the original games spirit then you're not going to be disappointed by Lovely Planet 2: April Skies - It's an adorable romp of quick little time trial levels that reward expertise, accuracy, and speed over all.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR Very good Speedrun FPS game. Easier/smoother skill curve. Faster paced than the original but overall has easier level design. Music and sound effects are great. Competing on the leaderboards require running diagonally for a speed boost which can be awkward but adds another layer of skill. Length depends on how much you want to replay levels for better times. Without that, expect anywhere from 2-8 hours. Highly recommended. Video coming soon hopefully. Not to bring attention to myself.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an awesome video game with fast paced gameplay. You're a guy with a lightning fast spear who has to erase all red cubes in the level and find the finish line to complete the stage. The game is easy to get into, but difficult to master with increasing difficulty over the levels. Later in the game it's all about fast reflexes and some trial and error until you get it right. The further you progress, the more mechanics game developers throw at you. It's a very nice and replayable indie…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best speed-running 3D platformers out there. Period. If you enjoy this genre, you can't go wrong with this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is so easy it can be fully 3 starred in less than 10% of the time it takes in the first game. The enemy and level designs are so shallow and basic that it makes me think the first game was a complete fluke. It honestly feels more like a demo than a sequel.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lovely Planet 2: April Skies is a first-person shooter platformer developed by quicktequila and published by tinyBuild that combines bright, cheerful visuals with incredibly fast and demanding gameplay built around precision, movement, and speedrunning. At first glance, the game looks almost playful and harmless, filled with pastel-colored environments, floating structures, and simplistic enemy designs that resemble toys rather than threats. However, beneath its relaxing appearance lies a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lowkey W Game, first one wasnt as easy. No better feeling than finishing a level.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What you see is what you get. It's just fun :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think this is a really good upgrade from the original game, which is kind of like if you made a Super Meat Boy style fps game. You still have the the fun basic FPS gameplay about precision, reaction time and essentially speedrunning small platformer fps levels. If you just play the base levels to credits it basically feels like an easier version of the first game with some new gimmicks (which were generally more fun than those in the first game) used for later worlds. In that sense it feels…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just here for cards
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very short. Maybe a couple hours if not going for secrets or 100%. Last world is unplayably hard. Secrets are more tedious than rewarding. Secrets should've just been included in the levels rather than found.
