Little Shop of Horrors
Seymour Krelborn is a nerdy orphan working at Mushnik's, a flower shop in urban Skid Row. He harbors a crush on fellow co-worker, Audrey Fulquard, and is berated by Mr. Mushnik daily. One day, Seymour finds a very mysterious unidentified plant which he calls Audrey II. The plant seems to have a craving for blood and soon begins to sing for its supper. From TMDB

The cast is great, the songs are iconic, and the creature effects for Audrey II are amazing ❤️ #100DaysOfHorror #Horror #FilmSky

unlabelledView post →I think Little Shop of Horrors is perfect, but every so often I think about the deleted ending where they turned to the camera and said, "this film is a satire of American consumerism, and you people are all jerks."

My SO and I are always looking for good movies, shows, etc. to fill the month of October. We like things that are atmospheric, cerebral, or just fun. But a lot of the standard recommendations are your typical slasher movies and the like, disgusting body horror, kids movies that we have no interest in, and things that are just plain miserable. --- Here's some…

Then I played the opening of Little Shop, and I smiled a mile wide and got happy tears. Still the tops. 🎥

Sharktopus, released in 2010, is a movie I’ve been wanting to watch for years. I just never found the time to slot it into my viewing schedule—until now. And it delivered. But why was I so excited about this particular B-movie? Because Sharktopus is the last great franchise from legendary producer Roger Corman. Now, I’m…
unlabelledView post →In Little Shop of Horrors, the full-size Audrey II moved so cumbersomely that they had to speed up the film to make it look convincing, so anytime a human actor is on screen with it they were doing everything at half speed, including mouthing their lines (which were fully dubbed in afterward)

To IMDB reviewers and casual film fans, he’s one of the worst director-producers of all time. But zoom out, and he might be the most important filmmaker who ever lived. His “bad” movies launched Coppola, Scorsese, Cameron, and Demme. He gave us Little Shop of Horrors, Death Race 2000, and Chopping Mall. And he proved something Hollywood…

unlabelledView post →It's hard to overstate how amazing 1986's Little Shop of Horrors was, especially how Rick Moranis moved and sang at half speed for some scenes so that the film could be sped up later to make the puppeteering of Audrey II look smoother on screen. The man performed a musical in slow motion.

It's not an exceptional mug—at least it didn't start that way. It was just a cheap mug from IKEA, cream-coloured. Out of habit, I drank from it without giving it much thought. One day, I dropped it—butterfingers. I was in the kitchen and lost focus. It hit the floor. The handle came off, and the rim chipped. I sanded the edges to make it easier to carry. I…
