(Note that, as is usual for me, most of my playtime was done in offline mode.) First off, let me address this: "The unique word puzzle which combines the skill of Sudoku with the knowledge of Scrabble®. " This game plays NOTHING like Scrabble, and actually plays out as a combination…

It also pops a window in front of the level right after you complete it so you can't even see the weird words you just managed to form. If you are a native english speaker or words like jibe, sty and ebb are part of your english vocabulary then you may enjoy it. I'll probably finish it but it's not fun like crossworld puzzles. More like scrabble but there's only one correct solution.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love word games, but Lexica is mediocre at best. Firstly, the UI is clunky. You cannot play full screen, and using a mouse is incredibly frustrating, as the game was clearly designed for a touch screen on a mobile phone. Even compared to mobile word games, Lexica feels super bland. There's nothing witty or ingenious about the game, no mechanic that makes it special. You simply slide letters to try to make words. Puzzles don't even have a word theme, which should be a *minimum*! This game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ignore any attempt to suggest this is some sort of Sudoku thing with letters - it's just a 'fill in the crossword without knowing the clues" game and it's fine as far as that goes. If you like the idea - you'll like the game, basically. If it has a problem, it's that a lot of the solutions require guesswork - there's only so much you can do with logic before you have to try something - and there's no 'Undo' (just a total reset) which can make that slightly frustrating. Another gripe is you…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is quite confusing what this game tried to be or who thought this would be a fun game to play. With the absence of any form of elimination mechanics like in sudoku or hints about answers on the board like in crossword puzzles, Lexica is simply a dumb, trial and error game that is disguised as a puzzle game. Even without going into its buggy controls, the game is just so mundane to play due to one major problem that stems from its deepest roots: the core gameplay. There is nothing fun about…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lexica is a word-game, where you have to find words with letters outside the board that can go vertically or horizontally. You have no definition. So in other words, Lexica is mainly aiming to an English native speaker audience. People that are fluent in the language but not a native one will have some difficulties, even in Easy, to think like that. Indeed, you have to be used to see th at the end of a word to maybe find a word. Anyway, the game has a sober interface and no soundtrack if I…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →an incredibly lazy mobile port of an incredibly badly made game sold for an incredible price (5 bucks is crazy). there's no full screen option, can't turn off the timer, can't replay levels, and so on. if somebody released the same thing done better and sold cheaper, it'd be great.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the concept, but it makes me feel stupid. Usually I'm great with word games, but even on easy I'm stumped early on. Maybe I'm just old now, I don't know. But big thumbs down for me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A scrabble like game with 288 levels to solve. If you are not a native English speaker it might be quite hard as at least for me there were quite a few words in there I never heard of before in it. Works without any issues on Linux with Proton (4.11-13), but the game itself does have some issues with the controls randomly breaking otherwise.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lexica was fun for me up until Medium Pack 5, where my understanding of the English language slowed me down, though it is not my native language. I tried to fend off guides for as long as possible, checking a solution for a single word here and there, but also checking words in an online dictionary, up until I couldn't progress without a guide and without feeling frustrated. It became a chore due to my own limitations, not by a fault of the game, cos it's the same game from the first to the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lexica is a good diversion. With its three levels of complexity it offers a good number of challenges to everybody, and it's actually a good way to play with the English language for non-native speakers! The Steam achievements can offer you the additional bit of motivation should you get bored of the puzzles (at the end, it's the same type of game over and over again). Recommended!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Scrabble at its finest. Need I say more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game Information "Lexica" is a Word game. The game was developed by d3t and published by Merge Games. The Game Review Game Visuals I want to mention that the visuals in the game are well done. The visuals can be adjusted in the game's option menu. Game Audio I want to mention that audio for the game is well done. Even though the audio is somewhat simplistic and repetitive. The audio can be adjusted in the game's option menu as well. Gameplay There are three different difficulty game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a bad little game - it does what it sets out to do. I didn't run into any problems with it but unless i'm droppin' a deuce or havin' a smoke break i'm unlikely to play it much lol.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is not a bad game but it isn't one that I can recommend. + Lots of puzzles to solve. + This game is probably good for expanding your vocabulary. - No clue system in place. - Basically impossible for people without a large vocabulary or for people with English as a second language. - Lots of guesswork. - Intersecting identical letters so basically, even if you got the word right, there is a good chance that you stuffed up the letters for the intersecting word.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple c_nc_pt; serviceable c_ntr_ls; often ch_ll_ng_ng; sometimes fr_str_t_ng; mostly s_t_sfy_ng.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game. Hard levels. You can earn achievements.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lexica is a very challenging puzzle/word game that makes you think. It's a lot of fun and a great time killer. I'd recommend getting it on sale or in a bundle.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is possibly driving me mad or maybe just improving my vocabulary and stretching my mental fitness. I know, I know, it is just slotting letters into a grid but you find yourself immersed in permutations till you find some that fit together. My advice is dont worry about the time it takes to do a grid just bask in the glow when you finally get it. Then you realise you are still on easy....
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a fun word game, very much like a crossword puzzle. Except, instead of clues, you have letters that you know go in each row and column, and you need to determine which to put where to make complete words throughout the puzzle. This can be much harder than it sounds. The game does lack a critical element, replayability, which hurts it quite a bit. That is, once you progress past a level by beating it, you can't replay it. Once you beat the game, it's essentially a digital brick, because…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good game but you need to be very good at english language to play this, I had trouble even in easy pack 1 and had to ask for help to finish it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game, but be warned that not all the words it uses are what I would call real worlds. Informal contractions, such as ARTY for ARTILLERY, are used intermittently. Still, if you like word puzzles, not bad.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is fairly easy except for some puzzles in the hard sets, which may present some challenge if English is your second language.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lexica, is nothing special. Just a simple puzzle game. You start out with easy puzzle and it gets harder as you go. Pick it up when it is on sale, don't pay full price. Not worth it. 7/10. A decent word game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What genre? For a quick pickup game I enjoy Lexica. A turn-based roguelike like CDDA or UnReal World can also be fun since you can pick it up where you left off at any time.
unlabelledView post →An exciting and challenging puzzle game with a simple concept. Kind of a combination of crosswords & 'Scrabble'. I've encountered no bugs. The only control is your mouse, which you use to slide letters around. There are 3 difficulty levels. Each difficulty level has 8 packs of 12 puzzles, so that's 96 puzzles per difficulty level, and 288 puzzles total. You start with an empty crossword grid. There are letters around all edges of the board. The letters on the left & right edges slide…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I recently played a game, Wordland that reminded me of this one and then I saw that I never gave this one a review. Both Lexica and Wordland are variations on word jumbles, but Lexica is a bit harder. In it you have letters on the outside of the board that can be slid into place on the main board. You have to slide them so that all the blanks are filled with real dictionary words. It's fun if you like the sorts of games in newspapers. I like that it opens in a tiny window and is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lexica is one of those word games where it kinda stands out to me with its combination of making a crossword puzzle, but yet give you the letters for each word for the puzzles to be laid out to as if it were a Sudoku puzzle. The game itself has 96 levels in each of the three difficulties ranging from Easy, Medium, and Hard. The game itself is easy complete for myself to 100% this it took me 6 hours to finish from start to finish, from what i've seen from others can be done around in that time…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lexica is as it says on the box, a puzzle hybrid of sudoku and crosswords. On a technical basis, the game has been sloppily ported from mobile, and displays only in a portrait window. There's no support for full screen, which is a minimum standard for any PC game. These kinds of word puzzle games are plentiful and readily available for free on the web, so there's no reason why anybody should pay for one on Steam. Impossible to recommend paying for something you can get at a higher quality…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've never been so motivated to 100% a game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A mind bending word game that's for sure! Move the tiles in the direction they allow to form words which sounds simple but can end up being hair pulling. I definitely recommend it for those that like to stretch their brain and feel the pain. XD
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have to say I hate Sudoku and those new paper cross word puzzles, but I love word searches, scrabble, words with friends, solving enigmas, etc... When I came across this game during the Steam 2017 Summer sale for 99 cents, I figured what the heck I'll give it a try and honestly I can say this is a really good puzzle game. The game has a tutorial which can help you get started, it features different puzzle levels starting from Easy and going all the way up to Hard, each level contains a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked this game. I like word games in general, and this one was different enough to catch my interest and I could play at my own pace when I had a few minutes here and there, no rush or anything like that. The easy levels are fairly easy but not too easy, and the hard levels are sure to challenge even the most seasoned verbalist. My only complaint is that once you finish the game that's it. no option to replay it at a later time or anything like that. But for $3 it is definitely still worth…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crosswords? Yeah, I like that. Sudoku? That's nice, I can spend hours doing some. Scrabble? Damn yeah, that's one of my favorite tabletop game! This? ... Huh... Where to start. It's like Crosswords, without hints. It's like Sudoku, without numbers and hints. It's like Scrabble, without someone to play with. It's like the three of them; without fun. There's a really big difficulty spike right in the first set of levels. I'm trying really hard to like this game, I just can't. It's a whole…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like this game! It stimulates my brain and I enjoy the crazy "aha!" moments when I finally figure out which word fits where. One thing I REALLY don't like about this game is that it includes words that I don't feel should be in the vocabulary of an above-average American. "Swami" and "Plaice" are examples. These are examples of ethnic words or specific plants or types of animals you wouldn't know unless you're a scientist, or a marine geek. I would prefer complicated words, rather than…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →would be nice to have hints for some for the harder levels, crossword style
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoy guessing the words. There are a bunch of letters given to you and you have to arrange the letters in a given number of possible spaces into words. The right words will make sense with the rest of the words in the puzzle. There are certain strategies you can use to make it easier to guess the right word. For example, put the letters in first that can only fit into one space. If you don't like spelling or if you are not into games like Scrabble or crosswords, then this is not the game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hard. So hard. Satisfy your lexical hunger through the consumption of more easily digested material, such as a ten pound thesaurus or the Encyclopædia Britannica. Play this game and risk frying your synapses. I did, and now I talk funny. Let my pain be your gain.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A simple word search game without any clues. You have to assemble words from letters on four sides of a cross-word-like grid. On the medium and hard packs there's frequently no obvious place to start, and some of the words are a bit more obscure. Guessing a long word often unlocks the rest of the puzzle and choosing where to start is an important part of the strategy you need to complete a level without too much effort.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While it's one of the best word games on Steam, many users, including myself, experienced a bug that completely wipes your save. So, if you care about progression, this is unacceptable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A casual, enjoyable word puzzle game. Provides a great challenge across its nearly 300 levels. You are given the option between difficulties easy, medium, hard, each with increasingly difficult words respectively. TL;DR, An enjoyable and lengthy puzzle game. Rate: 8/10

Lexica is one of those games; a casual game you can open and play a puzzle or two before closing it again. According to Steam, thus far, I have played 17.5 hours, and have completed the easy and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ah, I assumed you meant PC. I don't fuck with consoles, so I'm afraid I can't help you there. But Lexica is a phone-based word game I enjoy (though I play it on PC with BlueStacks).

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like logic puzzles over puzzles that require mostly trial and error. Picross is one of my favorite kinds because there's always a logical way to proceed. This is nothing like that. Achievements are not worth it even with all the answers.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice touch on a word-puzzle. You get free spaces to slide 1 to 4 different letters on, combining them to words. I don't think, it is really original, but O have never seen this spin on word puzzles. It's a bit like a mixture of Picross, Sudoku and the numbered crosswords (the one without questions, but all letters have a value). It is a nice game, but it would much better fit on moblie for a Dollar. It lacks every normal PC option like resolution and fullsrceen. It doesn't need it, but it is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun word game, not much to it. Worth the price, and can be challenging.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An excellent game, at first, but then you start getting hit with obscure British words and it gets quite difficult. It's based on an English newspaper puzzle and they throw in Brit slang, Scotish and Irish words. The real killer is when you solve too many puzzles, your saved game vanishes. I had made it to the hard level and my saved game disappeared. I found a number of players online who stated their saved game was deleted when they got into the hardest level, too. Of course, there are the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are looking for a good word based puzzler that will give you a challenge look no further. Lexica is deceptively simple. The easy packs lull you into a confidence trance. "You've got this" it says to you. "You're a genius, you know all the words." Then you bump up to medium difficulty. The words are longer, more complex, there are more possibities per line. But you get into a rythm. You start picking up on patterns and the way words are formed. You gain confidence. Finally you move…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For not-natively English speaker, I think this game can be extremely hard to play due to vocabulary of one's. But this is a puzzle and it's supposed to be challengeling. Mechanics, graphics and concept is great. So, that's a definitely thumbs up.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(Key received from the fine guys at Failmid. You guys are alright!) Unfortunately, this was not a hit for me. Lexica is another word puzzle game that pretty much makes my head spin as I have to scramble and unscramble letter arrangements to find words...once again. Ugh!!! Names are words, some typo words are words, and occassionally, you'll drag a letter and it'll get stuck. Dragging a letter sometimes doesn't work in a game all about dragging letters. Let's not forget to mention that…
