It is a remake of the 2016 game Layers of Fear and its sequel Layers of Fear 2 (2019), combining stories from the previous games with new content. Candyman has always been one of my favorite horror movies, his voice and sheer presence throughout is incredible. Him being in Layers of Fear 2 was one of the coolest game cameos (along with the easter egg)

Voice acting is a bit of a hit or miss but the game compensates in other ways. If you haven't played the previous games, don't expect too much gameplay, it's essentially a horror walking sim with light puzzle elements and lore item gathering. It's a shame because I was actually enjoying the improvements over the original game. Had similar issues with Bloober's previous game, The Medium, as well unless I disabled FreeSync (didn't help in this case). They just seem really bad at PC ports.
