60 of 128 · most liked firstI've really enjoyed what I've been able to play so far, but the game has crashed 8 times in 30 minutes. Edit: 12 times People keep saying my PC is a potato. 4070ti (on par with / sometimes out performs 5070) + i7 13700k Black Myth Wukong and Arc Raiders (both UE5 games) get over 120+ FPS without frame gen on this system, whereas High on Life 2 gets around that or less with frame gen. This is, objectively and not my opinion, the sign of an unoptimized game with clear performance issues.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crashes like crazy on a high end system 5070 ti/ Ryzen 7 9800X3D/ 32gb DDR5 RAM/ I'm sorry I'm just not supporting games that release in this state. "Oh it's only day 1, they'll fix it in a few weeks" the gaming industry was never like that! Never in my life did I ever remember returning a PS1/PS2 game to the store. When a game was released and alpha/beta tested it was released so that I could play from start to finish with minimal issues. But I can't even get past the first level without…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →campaign is only like 15-20 hours. wait to buy it until they fix the performance stuff, its pretty atrocious even with good specs.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My favorite part about this game so far is downloading 30,000 shaders every time I reboot it after it crashes.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Funny idea, same as part 1. UE5 however is still a pure nightmare to run. Upscale and framegen are mandatory including frequent game crashes. next time I'll check the used engine first. No UE5 anymore. (I'm running a desktop minis forum 7945hx, 64 Gb DDR5 5600, RX9070XT)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very poorly optimized for a $60 product. Was excited to play but refunded because of the poor performance.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game so far but like the previous high on life the release version is pretty poorly optimized seeing significant frame drops and stutters. personally I would wait a few weeks until they sort this games optimization before purchasing 20th Feb Edit: The recent update that's been released by squanch games has significantly improved my frame rates and I've been able to raise my texture quality to high and still have around 140 FPS. Where before the update I was running medium settings and was…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Devs, wake up. A lot of us just payed $60+ for this. 25,000 Shaders everytime you launch the game? legit waiting for a few minutes every time i hop on. The lag spike no matter what graphics settings you have? You guys killed it on the first game. Why release a game that just wasnt fully ready? I'm genuinely disappointed, ill give this another try in a couple of months.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing First Half, Rushed Second Half First Impressions I really enjoyed my time with High on Life, 3 years ago. It was such a unique and great game. No need to repeat myself on that game, I have already mentioned it in my review back in the day. So, I was very excited for High on Life 2 since it was announced last year. I enjoyed my time with it again, even though it was underwhelming at parts. Let me explain. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3668466254 Amazing…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I reviewed High on Life 2, which looks and feels like it got carved down to a sliver of what it was planned to be. Some nice ideas and a better script are held back by softlocks, unimproved gameplay, and the fact it's half a game. Read here: www.thejimquisition.com/post/high-on...

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game, brought back the feel of the first while keeping it fresh.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →God forbid companies release stuff in a playable state. Waited about 5 minutes to actually load into the game then once I saw the low poly models everywhere I waited another 5ish minutes thinking they would just need to load. After they didn't, I then turned my graphics down, which I shouldn't need to do. Then waited another 3ish minutes for it to only start loading in high poly models (wasn't done by the time I quit) Then I walked forwards for a couple of seconds, my weapon instantly showed…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →well, i played 40 mins and gave up hoping the game would stop frame dropping and having so many frame drops and spikes to the point it was unplayable, i tried to push through it thinking oh might need a reset after setting the graphics up and making the changes needed for a pc with 5070RTX/Ryzen 7 9700x/32gb vengance ddr5 specs. i went back into the game and soon as i got there im having to wait again for shaders to be compiled after already going to the main menu, don't really get why they…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Whoever thought of the skateboard idea. Give them the biggest raise ever. In fact give them all money you earn from this game. It's also running smoothish on steam deck!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game has a large number of issues including crashes, bugged bosses, a weird visual bug while using certain weapons, certain npc dialogue missing or not working, severe frame rate drops. This game should NOT have released as soon as it did. Outside of the issues the game is funny and should you push to get through you can find some funny moments. However understand that the final boss has the biggest bug to where you cant complete it. It will not load where you are transported to and wont…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very unoptimized, occasional frame drops even at high FPS The recommended system requirements are ridiculous. expecting people to meet these specs just to run a poorly optimized game smoothly is not reasonable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is fun like the first one, but doom on a pregnancy test runs smoother than this, a drunk driver crashes less. 8/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The performance on release was horrible and unplayable, the performance now is slight better but still not good. I get around 60-100fps, with it being different on each map and area, with DLSS on Quality, no FG! and mid-high graphics settings. You can only play on your screen res on borderless fullscreen which is kinda annoying and playing on fullscreen is not an option for me because if you tab out it completely flips out and it gets worse when you have a 2nd monitor active too. Sometimes…

Nioh 3, Menace, Romeo Is A Dead Man, Crisol, Mewgenics, High On Life 2, Reanimal, Styx 3, The Killing Stone, Paranormasight 2, Star Trek Voyager, Love Eternal, Horsey Game, Ys 10, Demon Tides, Towerborne and Resident Evil 9. negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked the first game, and this one has much better pacing. Probably wait for some patches though. Edit: Haven't run into any issues since the latest update!

unlabelledView post →Even with all the bugs, the game is too short and while the story starts off strong, it ultimately falls flat. There is many avenues Squanch Games could have taken to ensure that this was a strong, rememberable game but instead they released a broken, bug filled game. You play as the Bounty Hunter from the first game, and due to some actions taken, you're an outlaw with a massive bounty. You only fight two other bounty hunters in the game, which is crazy work. So much missed opportunity.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm a big fan of Squanch Games, I loved High on Life and Trover Saves the Universe and I love this game too but... Just not in it's current state. Here's just some of the issues I've encountered: - Skipped Dialogue: I've missed at least 25% of the character dialogue because everyone is constantly interrupting each other, so many people never finish what they were saying when interrupted and it cannot be heard again. - No Autosaves or backups: One autosave is simply not enough. I've…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game could be so much fun. However there are so many things about this that seem not finished. Certain spots to get through don't work unless you reload the game. Bosses are very glitchy. I am currently stuck on a boss whose meter wont go past half way. No mater what I do. I restart and it starts at the same half way mark and stays there. I have tried starting from a different area and it wont load properly still goes straight to the half way mark of that boss. I do not recommend this and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed the experience provided in this sequel to the acclaimed High on Life, but although I didn’t find it as funny as the first game (there were very few moments when I actually laughed at a scene or dialogue), the creativity is still there and this game has several unique and very different moments from the usual. The game losing some of its humor is largely due to the absence of the character Kenny, the funniest and most iconic talking gun (a fan favorite) who accompanies you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Disable geforce now (the over lay) and the game will launch just fine as well as stay up while playing!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game runs poorly. Im not super high end, def more middle ground with an i713400kf, rtx 3080, and 64g of ddr5, I did everything from adjusting my shader cache size to drivers and going through a multitude of settings combos. I could not keep a stable preformence above 720p. I get it, games need time to get updated when bugs are noticed but this wasnt buggy, it was just complete poop wrapped in a plastic bag that was used to smear a canvas so it could be called art.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game runs horrible and needs work, all these devs are so lazy to put in some optimization and don't care about the community. this game shouldn't be a 60$ price tag. its honestly shocking they were okay with this release.

But don't bother unless they patch it, there are far too many graphical glitches that happen and too much crashing. I managed to beat 1 boss until it got too much of screen flickering and game crashing when i'm hit by an an attack. I really hope they drop a patch sooner rather than later.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →High On Life 2 is the direct sequel to High On Life. That slapstick comedy game that mocked you for speedrunning, the knew when you "cheated" (if you've seen the funny videos online) and the extremely vulgar language that get's tossed around a LOT. I couldn't play HOL2 when it first came out as the performance of the game was terrible. Here I am, finally played the game to 100% and I have to admit... I really wish I didn't. I will explain WHY below. So let's get to it! Cons ⚫The first…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game but runs like ♥♥♥♥ and incredibly crash happy, wait until it's better optimised before buying :)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After playing around an hour I can already say that ts is bouta be peak! UPDATE: I have now finished the main game with minimal issues and suprisingly good performance, was also lucky to not encounter any softlocks so thats nice. Overall an extremely fun time and was not dissapointed (except for the crashes, was not a fan of those) If anyone is struggling with their frames feeling a bit jittery, setting Latency Reduction Technologies to "Nvida Reflex" in the video settings solved almost all…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall a much better experience than the first game but I would personally wait for this to be patched before playing/buying. The skateboarding makes combat feel fluid and fun whereas in the first one, it kinda felt stale. It feels a little crappy that they replaced Kenny with Trevor however (I'm aware of the reasoning that Kenny isn't in this. JR is a POS), they could have added a brand new gun that was completely different to use. Trevor has the same abilities except dual wield later on.…

unlabelledView post →Absolutely terrible the sound doesn't work it's extremely glitchy and crashes all the time and you have to have the settings on the lowest setting to even remotely play the game. I do not recommend purchasing this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can say, with some confidence, that High On Life 2 is the best game I've ever played in which the actual, no screwing around John Waters voices an alien who runs a Spirit Halloween in space. www.avclub.com/high-on-life...

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just finished the game, enjoyed it a lot, honestly made my jaw drop a few times at certain points. However, if you don't have a relatively good PC and/or are annoyed by crashes, I'd hold off for now. There were a handful of lag spikes and random unexplained crashes, but from what I could tell the game auto-saves very frequently, so I lost almost no progress at all. The game also has to build shaders every time you open the game for some reason, but it doesn't take as long as the first boot. In…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hotfix 2 on 2/19 has broken my game. It is no longer playable, with major lag, framerate drops, and pausing the menu or playing for longer than a minute causes my game to crash. Even on the lowest graphics settings these occur. Before hotfix 2 on 2/19 I was going to leave a positive review of the game as my 16 hours I had 0 crashes and maybe 2 instances of a noticeable drop in framerate. I am using gaming laptop and had my in game graphics settings a 50-50 mix between medium and high, idk the…

unlabelledView post →My boyfriend pre-ordered this game for me for Valentines Day, knowing I absolutely loved the first game and was absolutely stoked for this one to release. Cost $59.99 USD plus tax. The very least expected was that it would run properly. I never had any problems with crashing from day 1. I had a bug here and there but nothing game breaking. I usually run games on lower settings just to avoid a hassle with FPS and stuttering on most newer games, despite whether I could run higher or not. These…

I've seen people with 5090s and 9800x3D's say they have issues with this game. I can assure you my hardware is below that. Maybe specific issues with certain types of hardware or people don't know how to use a PC I guess. Either way the game has been very enjoyable. It aligns with my sense of humor, gameplay is fun, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to recommend this game so badly because I loved the first game and was really looking forward to the sequel but holy **** not in its current state. It is pretty much a slightly expanded version of the first game (which is fantastic) and when the game worked it was very fun! But the glaring issues in performance and game-halting bugs is outrageous. First performance: I have a relatively higher end PC (4090, i9, 64gb ram) and the game runs around 150fps downscaled to 2k on my…
