60 of 195 · most liked firstI guess I didn't watch enough gameplay videos before buying but I also forgot that steam reviewers are liars and make non-sensical comparisons The game is not like "where's waldo" except maybe in the art style. I was under the impression that this was like a more interactive version of "where's waldo" where you can click and interactive with lots of things on a large hand drawn scene. Sounded awesome in my mind. but it's not like Where's Waldo. It's a 2d walking sim. You directly control a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a wonderfully creative game. Feels like a spiritual successor to 'Where's Wally'/(Where's Waldo) book series with how intricate and vivid the details of each of the levels are. Turns out this game is based on its own book series by Hiro Kamigaki and I'm sad to discover that only one of the books is currently available within my local library services. I personally found the 'maze' aspect of Labyrinth City to be very simplified and a little bit linear. Sometimes the paths were deceptive…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, this is quite a nice game, you search your way through a series of rather long labyrinths. The art-style is nice and the gameplay quite entertaining, but easy and shallow. For me the fun lay in running around a maze until I found all the special stuff hidden in it - up to the point where they introduced blockers at certain stages in the maze, which wont let you go back - you can pass only once. And at this moment the game became instantly boring for me. Playing the same rather long…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had so much fun playing this game - every map of the Labyrinth City is unique, cute, colorful, and rich. This is not a typical hidden object game, you are not expected to find anything hidden. The people you look for are waving, so just follow the path as they lead you to the goal, and enjoy wandering around the city, see how interesting the people along the road. Labyrinth City has lots of replay values as there are many to see and to click, you tend to miss something in the first…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I understand that the charm of the design of this game is alluring, but the gameplay is dreadful. From poorly behaved isometric navigation to calling random wandering a maze game, I just think this exercise in tedium had a lot of potential and disappointing execution. Achievement hunters will find aspects of the experience maddening. Casual and hardcore gamers alike will find many choices in the *gameplay* to be onerous. Again, the design is lovely, but this is meant to be a game with…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Note: If allowed, this would've been a middle thumb rather than a thumbs down but here we go. I think the main point I'd like to hammer home with this review is not so much that the game was bad in and of itself, but rather you should ease your expectations with this game. I expected this game to be similar to "Where's my Wally" where the objective was to look for a well-hidden character or series of characters within an overcrowded landscape filled with characters and to a degree I did get…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Who doesn't wish their maze books to be interactive? Well, this video game will make your dream come true: it is an adaptation of a children's book of mazes called Pierre the Maze Detective: The Search for the Stolen Maze Stone. There are 10 levels, each one consists of a giant maze which is beautifully illustrated and full of interactables (à la Hidden Folks, which, by the way, is also a great family-friendly hidden object game). For each level, your goal, naturally, is to navigate through…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think the artwork is really good, everything looks hand-drawn and super detailed, almost like a moving storybook where every page is packed with little surprises. The visuals are so dense and full of life that I sometimes had to slow down just to take everything in properly. Finding the hidden objects is actually a bit harder than other similar games I’ve played, which made me question my eyesight a few times because things blend so naturally into the environment. There are also so many…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Labyrinth City: Pierre the Maze Detective caught my attention because its art reminded me of the Where’s Wally (also known as Where’s Waldo in North America) series of puzzle books that I grew up reading. Little did I know at the time that the game was based on Pierre the Maze Detective: The Search for the Stolen Maze Stone, the first puzzle book of a series by Hiro Kamigaki and his illustration team at IC4DESIGN. Franco-Belgian bandes dessinées and ligne claire art style were obvious…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like the where's waldo-type of illustrations, with a ton of people doing silly things, this is a fantastic game. I've only cleared the first maze, but it put a huge smile on my face from start to finish. The illustrations are already so detailed and fun, but I'm genuinely amazed by how well integrated all the animation is! Chaotic in the best way, I love it. Definitely taking the longest route in any maze.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Playtime: 8.2 hrs Simple puzzle game with nice graphics. Can be a little bit time consuming to find certain stuffs throughout the levels. Overall quite fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A really fun and chill puzzle game in the vein of Where's Waldo and Hidden Folks, but with the twist that you are guided through a maze with plenty of deviations to go look for the collectibles. The graphics are amazing hand drawn backgrounds and characters, and a lot fun little animations. It's also chock full of pop-culture references, and some are quite well hidden, so it's always fun to discover a new one on subsequent playthroughs (you do want all the collectibles, right?!) The music is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played on a Steam Deck. Plays perfectly! This is a great fun game to play together with my 4 year old daughter. You have to track down Mr X and along the way encounter all kinds of craziness. The game isn't difficult, but it is perfect to play with a child. Recommended!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Labyrinth City: Pierre the Maze Detective takes you on a journey where you chase Mr. X through several levels in order to get back what he stole. While following hints of other people you get to discover huge maps filled with life. I enjoyed the atmosphere that came with each individual map. Also, the voice of Carmen was very cheerful and entertaining whenever she had a sequence. I can recommend it to everyone that enjoys a casual hunt for hidden objects.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Refunded, so my review will be negative. And that's because the game is good, and that's why the review is positive, but it's not what I was looking for, having heard other people talk about it. Dark Souls is not the same as Soul-like games, and although players of the former are likely to like some of the latter, this is not necessarily the case. This is often the case for me with Hotline Miami-like games. But let's get back to my point. People say it's a Wally/Waldo-like, but for me it is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is the digitalization of the book 'Pierre the Maze Detective: The Search for the Stolen Maze Stone' of IC4DESIGN team spearheaded by Hirofumi Kamigaki in 2015. The visuals are stunning, they are not cheaply done. You often see visual distinctions between static and moving parts in these type of games because of the lowres source image not properly redone, but that is not the case in this game. every art looks crispy and not a single one of it stands out. And the way it structured is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I quickly realized that this was probably based on a series of picture books with maze puzzles for small children. Google confirmed that my suspicion was correct. How I managed to figure this out was for two reasons: 1. The presentation is decidedly appropriate for all ages. 2. It truly is illustrations of mazes that you walk around in. Despite the graphics being charming I cannot recommend it. For anyone old enough to be looking for a challenge this does not deliver. The books have a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I rarely review games, but this one deserves one. The gameplay is dead simple, plays well with M+K or controller. You essentially just move around and click or tap A/X when a prompt shows up. The fun part is exploring. Walking around these adorable hand drawn worlds and getting lost in all the details. There is so much for your eyes to consume, so many hilarious little moments that come from nothing but visual storytelling. The music is also great! Makes exploring the mazes really calming.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was difficult to play with just the keyboard, but once I got a controller, it was so much fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My boys absolutely loved this adaptation from the books. It takes you on a clever journey, with a story of mystery perfectly targeted at young children. Highly recommend for lovers of the book or for kids looking to have a lighthearted adventure.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So many references! Absolutely charming!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a great casual game full of little jokes and secrets to find. I haven't found it difficult, though a spot or two have been a little tricky. Great for unwinding.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A cute game for kids. The art captures the essence of an I Spy book, which is surely what the book it's based on looks like. As an adult, it's good for mindless gaming when you want chill vibes
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple cozy maze game with a hint of hidden objects. Great for kids, but nothing extra. If you want all the achievements without a guide, prepare yourself for some pixel hunting and light puzzles.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a cute game, not much of a maze but there are tons of little details in the art - it does a great job making you want to explore every path, even if it doesn't lead anywhere. It was a little annoying to completely restart a level a second time to find a missing collectible, especially because being unable to skip dialogue is a big pet peeve of mine (fortunately, you can skip the cutscenes at the end of each level). Still, it's a really great game and I recommend it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wheres Waldo + the maze on a kids menu at Olive Garden. You should be here for the visual spectacle not game play. It's an animated Wheres Waldo with the lightest of gameplay on top. For the developer: please make one of these for all the things: StarWars, Space, Lord of the Rings, etc.... and you'll probably get my money. This is one of those games you hope to find one day in your unplayed Steam backlog. Made my day.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR; This game is fun and special and unique. I suggest it completely. What works: +incredible attention to detail +humor is excellent +difficult without being grueling/still fun though frustrating +consistent mechanics that grow with you over time +gorgeous art style +achievements are not too hard to acquire if you are ready to talk to everyone and take every path. I'm super dilligent about this, so it seemed easy to me. It was fun to be talking to yet another person and OOP! got an…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a joyful experience! Fun, charming and relaxing!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a truly wonderful game. There are so many details to every maze that keep it from being boring, and there are so many easter eggs and things to achieve outside of the collectibles in each level, which also enhances the quality of the gameplay. Truly a stellar game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute mazelike game, with very vibrant drawings, perfect for chilling on the couch with a Deck
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is an absolute fun time. There is plot is basic here but it takes you back to your childhood of "Where's Waldo/Wally" books and having fun with mazes. So much nostalgia! The characters in the game are fun and quirky and it's always interesting to see what will happen when you interact with various elements within the game. Although things never get too complicated, there will be times where you will have to plan your route carefully or you could miss out on a collectible...if that's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Din't know about this book series before.Great game for relaxation. Reccomend if you like art and mazes :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is just... Awesome. I'm only on the 4th level, taking my time, but I had to stop and write this review. It's visuals are charming, the voice acting and animation is on point, and the music and sound effects are beautiful. My one major reservation going in was the possibility of getting eyestrain (thinking it was some kind of "Where's Wally/Waldo" type find-the-hidden-object game), but its mechanics avert this and it's all just so wonderfully done. I can't recommend Labyrinth City…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great little game, I really enjoyed it. Gameplay consists of working your way through various mazes with light puzzle elements. Along the way, there are things to find (Where's Wally style) by interacting with different objects/people throughout the maps. A relaxing, cute experience. Recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It had a metal gear, assassin's creed and spirited away reference. big funny
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a charming game! Basically you just walk everywhere you can to master the labyrinths. But the graphic detail is amazing and there are many spots you can interact for small animations. I had a relaxing time and let myself get lost in all those details. Easy game, it can also be played by/with little children as the storytelling suggests. All in all if you like mazes and those detail books this game is for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little maze game that reignited my inner maze loving child 10 out of 10 would chase Mr. X again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if this game was a steak i would not want it. it's really well done.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →★★★★★★★★☆☆ 8/10 Past a certain point, the whole maze thing and the story feels meaningless and prolonged “just because”, but the beautiful artwork and unique cheerful mood are enough to keep you in the game. Which also means for certain people, those aren’t enough to stick till the end. That explains the 24.5% clear ratio at the time of this review. +) Beautiful and mesmerizing artwork. +) Uniquely cheerful mood. +) Background music is very apt with the game. +) One can definitely feel how…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For this game being about Labyrinths the levels are quite linear with few side paths that mostly contain optional collectibles. Your character is rather small and disappears behind object with no transparency effect to keep track of your character, worse is when you go through a door and are teleported it becomes hard at times to find where you ended up. The Games controls can be iffy in places the character sometimes walks on a very specific small path with intersections/ladders and sometimes…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So simple, yet so beautiful. This game is like a warm hug. Perfect for turning your brain off after a long day.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a pretty fun game with interesting mechanics. I lost a nearly complete save a couple of years ago because there was no cloud save feature, which is a massive no-no... Other than that, Pierre needs to learn to just squeeze through when there are people blocking the road smh
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed playing this game and it was a childhood daydream made reality. It strikes a happy medium in that it can engage both children and adults. There are a lot of pop culture, and references to other video games that would go over the head of a child but caught by the adult player. The game invites the player to explore by encouraging them to interact with their surroundings, yielding a fun cinematic or collectible. The levels provide enough material, that if a collectible is missed,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay hands down best game of this type I've ever played. The movie/TV show/historical/general life references were amazing. The artwork is beyond amazing. The story line is actually interesting and definitely makes you want to get all the achievements. The puzzles themselves were difficult enough to not become frustrating but also not too easy and boring. Please please please make more of these cause I'd buy the ♥♥♥♥ outta them ♥ 100% deserved those awards too

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have a full review and some gameplay here: https://mrdavepizza.com/labyrinth-city-pierre-the-maze-detective-review/ This game was very interesting for me. While, truthfully, I don't know that I've heard much of Pierre the Maze Detective before this, it does seem to be based on a rather delightful book. It's kind of like an interactive Where's Waldo, except all the Waldos are unique original characters. This goes beyond your mere hidden object game--this is art. The way so many things are…
