Plus, we get into the behind-the-scenes history of its dev. And Tim shares how he adapted the game into a TV-length experimental video essay/playthrough

unlabelledView post →Oh sweet, the @gamehistoryorg.bsky.social archive tool has the ad we printed for a bunch of exclusive L.A. Noire online content that we never actually got access to. Instead, they just flew me out there to put me in the game.
unlabelledView post →I will never forget when during LA Noire crunch one dev tried (and actually did improve) team morale by baking cakes weekly + more bugs seemed fixed on Cake Days. It got banned because it made people "slack off". Glad she's better off now (must read) - www.rockpapershotgun.com/how-rockstar...
unlabelledView post →I fell asleep sick this afternoon and had a fever dream where I was in an Alan Wake/L.A. Noire style surreal detective game within which I had to investigate whether these people were a Cthulhu-sque cult. I ask the jury to decide how much Cooper owes me.
unlabelledView post →Sunday Morning Setup 🎮☕ I'm in no rush to grind for the last L.A. Noire achievements, unsure which game I'd even play next, but some progress would be nice. Went to the gym this morning because my back needed it. 😅 Cookies are store-bought, but chocolate is chocolate. Enjoy your Sunday, friends!

Quirky, fun & a good time. Next time Sidney name-drops this in Scream, I can finally do the DiCaprio pointing meme! 😂 #100DaysOfHorror #Horror

unlabelledView post →All I want is a Daredevil game that plays like “Arkham City meets L.A. Noire.” I want to kick ass like a super ninja, but I also want to interrogate people and listen for heartbeats in court.

unlabelledView post →Finished work early, decided to start a replay of L.A Noire, a game I've not played since it's release. Can't wait to see the very detailed and totally subtle facial animations again. #blutoid
unlabelledView post →L.A Noire - aged a bit, still looks great, hilarious if you mod the game and enable 60fps (it's 30fps by default), everything goes wonky. Shadows of Doubt - Newer game, voxel design, kinda badly optimised. However, it's amazing from a crime solving standpoint, very, very enjoyable.

I was actually surprised to learn that Rockstar was involved with the first one (as co-producers and publishers)... which actually makes a lot of sense now that I think of it. #WGames

Noire • and the absolute worst versions of the GTA 3D era trilogy

unlabelledView post →Still, at its core, this is a fantastic detective game. In many respects, tentacles aside, Sinking City feels like what L.A. Noire had wanted to be, right down to the stiff mo-cap animation. With the difference, of course, that Sinking City... is much better at dramatizing detective work in play.

unlabelledView post →Roll credits on L.A. Noire #PS3 Game or activity? I'm not really sure. It is an interesting idea that is mostly pretty well executed, but having a very good crime solving loop doesn't make for a super fun game. It's 5-8 hours too long, but once the story threads start to connect it does grip you.

unlabelledView post →In hindsight, I probably should have tried L.A. Noire a decade ago; a PS3 era open world game, where you do detective work in the 1940-ies? Just my niche of games. Then again, there was no talk about it back in the day; open world games were a booming genre, lots of competition around.

unlabelledView post →Had the same thought when I played the LA Noire game. Beyond the shonky truth/lie mechanic from the gifs, it had a pretty unflinching plot where every major character, including yours, had been in the war and it affected them differently.
