60 of 70 · most liked firstWhile this is the definitive version of Koihime Enbu, the overall package for $20 isn't a bad deal. As a game for a whole, it's well made. If you just play this game casually (beginner-mid level play), it's not bad. High level play is a different story. Here are my thoughts. Pros: - Nice graphics style with colorful characters (lots of waifus) - Music is really awesome made by the legendary SSH (look him up if you haven't heard of him) - Price is reasonable for what you get - Solid controls…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Pretty well-made anime fighting game! ヽ(=´▽`=)ノ" Intro Koihime Enbu RyoRaiRai. It's an arcade fighting game that features fast-paced combat, easy controls, anime visuals, and various playable characters based on the Koihime series. This project has been continuing as the media franchise such as game, animation, comic manga, drama cd, novel, ost, and so on. Especially, this Koihime series has won several awards at the Moe Game Awards. Recently, the beta update for new characters and stages…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This one is a hard thumbs-down to give, because this is not a bad game (in fact, it's a good one). My main argument against this one is, being a sequel to the original, all you're really getting that's new is one playable character and maybe a minor gameplay tweak or two. So you can pay $5 for a good bargain-bin-priced fighting game or pay $20 for the same game with one additional playable character. While I like the game so far and on its own merits it's good, the fact that it's a sequel that…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In short, this game is fantastic and a great way to keep a fighting game simple without making it stupid. This latest update makes the game look *much* better, adds some things and rebalances characters. A great buy if you already own the game, but this game is a great buy regardless of whether you've played it before or not. Simple fighting system, no airdashes (unlike other anime), and the assist just adds an extra special move to sort of "customize" your main character. The game is based…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the game people who have never played Samurai Shodown think Samurai Shodown is. The pure honest footsies that people who have never played Super Turbo think Super Turbo is. Underneath the flashy hougeki you will find the most fundamentally sound fighting game ever made with a diverse cast of characters where any pick you make is pretty good. I love this game with all my heart, I've traveled thousands of miles to play it, and I will do it again in a heartbeat. If you've ever felt like…

Mash or master combos, while using the Hougeki system to maximize damage. Fantasy martial arts style fighting loosely based on the popular Romance of the Three Kingdoms story/characters. There are also several anime series with the Koihime Musou name that may or may not…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Koihime Enbu is an interesting fighting game. As some others have mentioned it resembles Samurai Showdown. The majority of the characters are from a game called Koihime Musou, which... is not on Steam... for GOOD reason. While there is some strategy to that game, there is a bit too much of a... harem creation going on to apply... Some of the other characters might be in the spinoffs of that game, but... I have only seen the base Koihime Musou. Anyway, combat is relatively straightforward,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is both a good entry into fighting games and a great way to stay in shape if you're like me and waiting until UNIST comes out. Decent graphics, nice soundtrack, cute girls (I guess) super solid gameplay and all the single and multiplayer content you could ask for, all for not even half the price of AAA titles with similar (or worse) production value. A solid 8/10 from me. This is the kind attitude from fighting game developers we need to see more of and definitely worth supporting.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game started in Japanese, and I had to hunt for the setting to change it to English. I wouldn't have it any other way. 10/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a lot of fun. good anime fighter thats a nice change of pace, from the usual air dasher, crazy combo madness.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's better at being street fighter than street fighter, with waifus. Sold.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buy only on a deal... Problem of this game, there is no playerbase to play online without having to use discord groups to do so ... That said, this is a very competent and easy to learn fighter. Probably great for newcommers who are still willing to use motion inputs. It's over fine, lacking in the single player department but fun enough to play with friends ...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've always overlooked this game, seeing it as "just another trash anime fighting game", but it's surprisingly well made! It feels responsive and smooth, visuals are decent and the music is pretty damn good. It's more footsies, so there's no crazy mechanics or anything, outside of Hougeki (which can lead to some crazy combos, just look up on Youtube). They have teased Rollback like a year ago, so I truly hope the game will get it soon!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DISCLAIMER: I bought the game 50% off ($9.99 down from $19.99) during the 2020 Steam Summer Sale. TL;DR: Buy on sale. $20 is okay, but YMMV. Pretty straightforward 2D fighter, much in the same vein as Samurai Shodown in that each character has a very limited number of special inputs (mostly from 22A, 236A, 214A, 623A, or 632146A), a Level 3 Super, and a Level 4 Super. Training mode is pretty nice and has some basic combo prompts for you to follow. Actually, if I had to compare it to a game,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →there is nothing safe in this game, there are only combos on fatal counters, getting antiaired is death, and you walk back and forth and press 2B or 5B. this is the greatest fighting game i have ever played
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Literally the most underated fighting game ever made, it's simple af giving almost every character in the game same inputs but still holds huge ammounts of depth in its gameplay. Think of this game as the Samurai Shodown of anime fighters with a lot of high risk high reward moves. Almost every single attack in the game being minus on block causes the player to think strategically and not just throw out moves like an idiot.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The funnest fighter I've ever played, and who doesn't love a shining beacon of constant fan-service in an era where Japan's cultural sophistication is threatened by hoards of angry, gai-jin, prismatic-maned harpies and their domesticated man-servants? (Count the number of times you winced at that sentence.) But I digress... very fun game, likable characters, and an active community in the West where tournaments with legit prizes are held. Very cool, Degica.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's pretty bland, the gameplay is really stiff and there are basically no combos. There are character that has more range than others which in this game makes them basically OP. There aren't many players either, which is another issue I have. Too bad I played for more than 2 hours, otherwise I would request a refund.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best 2D fighting game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best fighter no one plays
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want devs to start making fighting game with real weapons again, instead of fist fight.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have no idea how to pronounce any of the characters names or even the title of the game. I finished the arcade mode with each character, and still don’t know a single thing about the plot. Also, the online is completely dead. That being said, I really enjoyed this game, the characters are all baddies and the arcade mode is a good challenge. If I had to pick a main, I’d probably go with Gakushin Bunken, she seemed the most bad ass.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like samurai shodown, but in Three Kingdoms China... And all the generals are anime girls... yeah, there's also that. The gameplay is really solid though. much better than a handful of the latest high profile FGs.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yeah, ignore the loli stuff, it's a good fighting game. Pretty newbie friendly, half circle specials and ultimates. Easy combos but fun enough that newbies can use them with a small practice.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A more detailed review can be seen here https://youtu.be/JsaofIY6oes
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Being a fighting game with a cast of only anime girls can make people pass up on this game quickly, but this is actually one of the best fighting games ever made. Despite the anime character design this game plays nothing like the traditional air dashing super rush down focused anime fighters people are used to seeing. The game is a very grounded game with a heavy focus on good fundamentals like spacing, anti airing, blocking, and overall thoughtful play rather than doing insane rushdown into…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →similar to samsho but with comparatively pretty low damage on normal hits. hougeki counter hits (usually from 6m, 3m, 6h, and 3h which are big buttons or overheads usually) will lead to huge combos, so even when you get your hit off you still have a chance to drop if you aren't aware/confident. i think it ends up making the game a little more forgiving than samsho.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →20. Koihime Enbu RyoRaiRai This fighting game is actually one of the best but artstyle + characters seems to filter out majority of players when trying to get them to at least try this game. I really love different kind of characters as they are really unique and mechanics of this game
unlabelledView post →Good looking game with a great soundtrack and simple yet intuitive gameplay. Each character only have 3 special motions and you get to pick one Assist. There are no double jumps and no airdashes, so it's more grounded and fundemental based. Though you can still do crazy combos if you land a big counter hit. That's enough for me to recommend this game, but even though it's currently delayed netcode, the developers have teased at rollback potentially coming soon!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Better than DNF. Simple, fun, exciting. One of the Best Fighting Games ever made.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →- no tutorial - increasing difficulty level - if you chose "normal' then after few fights it will increase to "monster".

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game on sale with a lot of other fighters, just trying new stuff for cheap. First glance is just another stupid anime style game, then when playing I see it's only girls to make it worse. Well, the gameplay is surprisingly good and so is the music. I'm not going to continue to play since I hate the annoying female anime voices. Plus as a full grown man, it just feels weird playing this. For what it is, it's done very well, it's just not for me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Koihime Enbu RyoRaiRai! for the little time that I've put into it, the game ROCKS. it's entirely made up of women who are wearing very little clothes and doing the most insane shit you've ever seen in a fighting game. it's tough to find matches, but god I think i would love to learn it for real

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its the romance of three kingdoms but instead of Dong Zhuo, Cao Cao, Xiahou Dun Xiahou Yuan, Dian Wei, Xu Chu, Sun Jian, Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei; you got boobie lady, boobie lady, boobie lady, boobie lady boobie lady and boobie lady
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ITS PEAK!!!!!!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game, might have trouble finding people to play it with, but there is a discord server (https://discord.gg/2DGzfVSa4G) you can ping for games in. While I haven't played any other characters since I picked it up, Sonshoukou's combo trials are decently challenging, so it could be worth trying the game if you want to challenge yourself a little. ALSO THE OST ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SLAPS. Even if you don't plan to play the game I highly recommend listening to some of the character themes on youtube.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is way better than it has any right to be. pick it up for a laugh with friends
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I haven't played this game in a long time on the PS3. I want to say the game closest to this (sorta) is Koihime Enbu RyoRaiRai but I still prefer Aquapazza. I still think this game should've been released on PS4 the same year the PS3 version came out. Cool to see it on Steam, hopefully consoles.
unlabelledView post →Best modern fighting game. Too bad online is kinda dead, but maybe when v4 drops that will change..... I hope....
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably my favorite poverty fighter. It feels great to play and the soundtrack is fantastic. A real treat if you're all about footsies, neutral, and fundamentals. And it still gets developer support!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty solid game. Music is insanely good though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →who ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ plays this game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incredibly fun fighting game, my favourite of the 2d genre, with cute characters including a loli with a giant axe. Unfortunately the online is pretty much dead, you have to just play AI or else join the discord. But I seriously can't recommend the game on its game play alone, very fun and satisfying to play even at a casual level.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Godlike game. Very neutral based, fundamentals based. It also has interesting and fun combo mechanics. Be careful you need the V3 DLC to play online with other people. Delay-based, but it does work with players from the same region, with good connections at least. Small player-base. The Visual Novel from which these characters are from hasn't been translated yet, but the book that inspired the VN, "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" is a well known classic of Chinese literature. Both are…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →crackhead name, my thoughts on this one are the as on the first version, generic anime titty fighter not bad, just no impression.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's my duty to check are these ladies wearing panty properly. By the way It's a old school fighting game without double jump or aero dash, mostly like street fighter 4 or samurai spirits. But you can do long combos after crash counter.
