Yet, unfortunately, it has a few cardinal sins that personally are dealbreakers for me. And because of that, I won’t finish it. Let me also add that I haven’t played the Camelot prequel to this game. At first glance, it looked pretty similar to Expeditions Rome. Which I liked very much. Combat, storytelling, gameplay, in all…

Funny enough, this King Arthur Baking Company recipe is called ‘Molly’s Challah’ (it’s by Molly Yeh), so it felt appropriate. Threw some chocolate chips in there for dem shits and giggles. 🍞 🥚 🍫 🍽️

But playing as these undead ♥♥♥♥♥♥ jokers is seriously lame. Why can't you give us real, alive and cool-looking roman soldiers? Instead you gave us those silly skeletor-meme guys in goofy masks. It looks like there was a contest of who can came up with the most idiotic mask and the winners made it to the team. To add insult to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'd love to be able to recommend this game, but I can't - it's just too short. The turn-based combat is great! The story is engaging to start with and the character levelling and loot are great, but I finished the main campaign in 8 hours! After that there are no more characters to be found, no more levels to be gained and almost all the loot you find is useless because you already have the best loot available. There's lots more content, but it is just an endless parade of repetitive, rather…

Software Planning" didn't make Sonic games. That's like if I had a game company called Camelot but no King Arthur games. Silly #retrogaming #genesis

It's a much lesser game than the original in every aspect. It re-uses levels and assets, except making them worse - for example there was a maze level, that I actually got lost in while playing the original, but in this it's just a corridor, there's literally only 1 way to go. Which brings me to the next point - it's much…

unlabelledView post →I don't understand why was this released as a separate game and not a dlc for the main one. It is quite literally the same thing only less content compared to the Knight's tale, with some new mechanics added, which i like! I grabbed it on sale fairly cheap so it is worth it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →RANKING: AVOID | FLAWED | MAYBE | WORTHWHILE | COMPELLING | UNMISSABLE SYNOPSIS: ASSESSMENT: Legion IX (L9) is a condensed standalone version of Knight's Tale (KT) played from the Roman standpoint. High on style, its an attractive looking title with quality audiovisuals. The campaign is shorter and gameplay a little more simplified. TBT combat is okay, but eventually becomes unbalanced and repetitive. Being able to respec characters on the fly allows the freedom to rapidly trial…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Greg Stafford's King Arthur Pendragon is an Arthurian fantasy role-playing game. Like the tales themselves, the setting is a mish-mash of elements drawn from widely separated eras. If you're looking for historical authenticity, a body of work assembled over centuries by writers

Cocoto Platformer Jumper, Sphinx & The Cursed Mummy, Eggmania: Eggstreme Madness, Carmen Sandiego & The Secret of the Stolen Drums, King Arthur, City Racer, Scaler, and Piglet's Big Game! Many wondrous gems to be found on this one little cube. Happy birthday!
unlabelledView post →It's more King Arthur, what can I say? To be honest, if you liked the first game and want some more stories set in that world, you'll probs get some enjoyment out of this. The below is for people who already played King Arthur: Knight's Tale. If you haven't played that game, you should play that one first. This is essentially a stripped down version of the first game (cheaper too, so doesn't bother me much). - The voice acting budget went out the window on this one, going from Mordred to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really tried to like this game, but I just couldn’t stick with it. "King Arthur: Legion IX" starts with a lot of hype and promise, but it quickly turns repetitive and loses its spark. It’s not a bad game by any means, but it just didn’t manage to keep my interest. If there were a neutral rating on Steam, I would’ve chosen that. Since it’s not an option, I’m leaving a thumbs down—not because the game is terrible, but because there are simply better games out there that offer more value for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Alters dev: "We only used 10k of AI-generated text" Um that is a whole novelette length? Maybe it is a small percentage compared to the total amount of text in the game, but it is a LARGE chunk of text. (Incidentally, it is the length of the bonus novelette I wrote for King Arthur: Knight's Tale)

unlabelledView post →The game is fine for the most part but I would not recommend it because it feels more like an expansion to King Arthur: Knight's Tale rather than an actual game. The morality system is simplified and the ending crisis involves just grind, without any actual dialogue or story like for the rest of the game. I also struggled a lot with 3-4 achievements in getting them unlocked despite doing what i was supposed to do in the game. Simply put their progress is blocked and you can only hope that…

Was a lovely touch the Millwall fans stood up as we clapped him off I have to say it’s was great to see King Arthur in the flesh and his 1 handed save meant we won the game! #askwxm

So far though, having a great time. Even though it's smaller in scope don't get it twisted. This game STILL has a LOT of deep systems, characters and possibilities. You can play on "Normal" or "Roguelite" mode. With Roguelite there's NO saving, just autosaves and every decision is permanent. In "normal" you can scum save til your heart's…

unlabelledView post →Original title 'King Arthur: A Knight's Tale' was somehow appealing. It had it's own different atmosphere and made me play it. As for Legion IX, I would not recommend it. Nothing new, nothing attractive but only old maps and random combat. Story is garbage. Dead roman soldiers risen from death but true to their roman identity and are on pursuit to make a roman settelement.

unlabelledView post →Basically what everyone else with a negative review said I had very high expectations coming to this since I genuinely liked King Arthur: Knight's Tale (which by no means was perfect) and I am very much into Greek/Roman mythology but this one falls flat. Essentially it's just an inferior version to the base game or the game it expands upon since Legion IX was most certainly supposed to be a DLC and not a standalone title. I just found myself struggling to continue playing this after just 4-5…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Basically "King Arthur: Knight's Tale" but with undead romans as the main party. There is the addition of ultimate moves you have to charge over multiple battles, but i didn't use them much - it's just a nice gimmick. And "Lars", who give global negative+positive bonuses. The main difference is that your party is now fixed. You got these 6 heroes and you can use the same tactic for each battle since the party doesn't change (except when one may be absent). This makes the battles a bit boring.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simplified gameplay and bad voice acting are sore points for this follow up to the brillant King Arthur: Knight's Tale. I expectped much bettr from this team.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Weak story, fewer features than the original game, laughably bad narration, etc etc. Get it at a sale if you must.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The weirdest Welsh Arthurian legend is "The Dream of Rhonabwy." A man in a rotting house dreams he meets an insane King Arthur who insults his size, and then Arthur plays a board game with his knight Owain while their vassals (both humans and ravens) slaughter each other. 🎨Alan Lee #MythologyMonday

unlabelledView post →The fact that they are passing off this glorified DLC as a separate game is pretty insulting. I didn't even get 10 hours of playtime out of it before reaching the end credits, not to mention that a lot of the maps and enemies are just straight up reused from the previous game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a fun game with above average combat and a unique thematic flair. However as I near the end of my first campaign on the hardest difficulty one of the 6 companions in my group has just deserted and permanently left without warning, never to return due to 'campaign decisions' that I have made. I actively engaged with the 'morality' system in the game choosing between human and demonic alignment decisions and always made sure to keep the loyalty values high for all of my team members. I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Legion IX is not a bad game, it's simply a pale copy of King Arthur. The game is short, with only one narrative choice, few developments in your city. Very few characters. Buy only in sale.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not sure if this was supposed to be a proper sequel, but it certainly felt more like an expansion to King Arthur: A Knight's Tale than anything else. Whatever it was supposed to be, it didn't hit the mark. Most of the visuals, characters, enemies, and mechanics are recycled from the first game. Other than some Roman costumes for the new heroes and a Roman reskin of the player's base everything looks and plays exactly the same. It definitely sounds worse than before, though, because the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought and played this game only because King Arthur: Knight’s Tale is my favourite TRPG games of all time. I expect this game to be the sequel and extension to the original title. However, story is much shorter and characters building feels much trimmed down to a simpler version in this game. Game content is just not as much as the original. Most importantly, there are even bugs in some areas and the Devs didn’t fix them for a long time. Seems this game has been already abandoned by the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The gameplay is great, but just like the original King Arthur, the difficulty spikes are nightmarish. Work up to play the game on hard, or very hard, then hit the endgame and it is impossible. Be ready, bc if you have a few hundred hours in King Arthur, normal will be too easy, but then the jump to hard or very hard will have a few fights which seem impossible despite just crushing it on normal or hard.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like many other have said, I wish I could give a sideways thumb or something. I was so hyped for this game, and maybe that's my fault, but this just feels like a downgrade overall from the original game. This isn't by any means a terrible turn-based game. However, when compared to the original, King Arthur: A Knight's Tale, Legion IX leaves so much to be desired it's downright saddening. The game itself without comparison is solid. It's a great turn-based game with excellent tactical camera…

unlabelledView post →I didn't finish the game, mind you. The game clearly has only two choices that matter, the voice acting is horrendous for some reason, the story is not there and the characters do not win you over. If for some reason you wanna be an undead roman killing christians and like turn based combat and dont care about anything else buy this game in a sale, otherwise safely skip it,
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really did want to like this game. Knight's Tale had some flaws, but there was a lot more options (in terms of your choice mattering), characters, and a much better story. Legion IX suffers the one same problem as Knight's tale - long, repetitive, meaningless, and unfulfilling endgame, but the main story was at least enjoyable. Legion IX feels like a prequel in terms of game play and story. I would have expected this to be the first take of the Knight's tale series and not the 2nd. I've…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun game until you reach the end of the story. The post-game content is all recycled enemies and environments and you will likely be at max level with gear that won't really get outclassed by whatever drops and it is generally just a slog. Like other reviews have mentioned you can lose a party member permanently based on your decisions essentially leaving you 1 character short the rest of the game. I'd recommend to grab on a sale if you're interested.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →3/10 As much as I loved the first game, this is a huge step in the wrong direction and even regresses some of the strides made in Knight's Tale. Limited companion choices, poor class design, and lack of innovation for the city improvement mechanic soured the experience. I thought I would really enjoy this - undead demonic Romans! Yes, please! Unfortunately, everything felt off and half-baked. As another reviewer said, it ruined my day when I played this and I didn't finish it. I sincerely…
