unlabelledView post →One game that pleasantly surprised me these past few weeks has been KILL KNIGHT. I keep coming back to it. It's a top-down bullet hell survival game with gothic aesthetics and some of the most responsive and fluid gameplay mechanics that I've ever seen. Really good game, check it out on Steam.

unlabelledView post →Yoooooo, today's free Epic giveaway game (10 of 16) is KILL KNIGHT, which only launched a few weeks ago. It is an EXCEEDINGLY tight and polished twin-stick shooter that kinda feels like a third-person Devil Daggers. Just a pure, intense not-a-roguelike arcade game. All skill, no filler.
unlabelledView post →Well I'll be. PlaySide went and made an actually good game. Great, even. You want reasons to NOT play it? Here, I'll give you two: some weapons seem flat-out better than the others, and the game's quite hard. That's it. There isn't much in the way of story, but there's no need for that here. KILL KNIGHT is a very focused experience, cutting away all the fat and leaving only the best morsels on the table. The aesthetic is tight and even the menus are very visually stimulating, the gameplay is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the aesthetic and the responsive controls, but I can't recommend this game due to its asinine progression system where you are stuck with the worst weapons and upgrades up against quite difficult levels, and the game seemingly asks you to grind hours upon hours to accrue enough currency to buy better gear. This leaves you with a frustrating experience of repeatedly bashing your head against the wall trying to clear a level with dogsh*t gear, not to mention how boring and repetitive it gets…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great concept but the user interface makes no sense. There is an active reload mechanic in this game, when your primary means of dealing damage (your gun) runs out of ammo it will automatically reload where a bar will appear across the screen that will allow you to reload faster by inputting a command. Now there are some very powerful effects you can trigger by getting this perfect reload but the problem is your ammo count is in the very bottom left of the screen, you can see this in the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game, however the over use of the color red gives me a headache. It may also be the addition of other visual distortions on top of it. What ever it was i got a seriously bad migraine after playing this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →believe it or not, this game isnt about killing knights, its about a knight who kills.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you manage to git gud @ this top down, bullet hell... You will demolish every single other game in those genres. This game requires absolute precision & response time. Truly one of the best games in the fusion genre. Additionally it runs great on steam deck as well. Would love to see some more updates &/or DLC at some point. That said the game is PEAK. The variability of playstyle to item /kit choices makes experimenting around with variable meta game configs extremely enjoyable. That said…

unlabelledView post →Kill Knight is my GOTY. store.steampowered.com/app/2694420/... The game is excellent at providing the action game fundamentals (positioning, good enough tool variety, overlapping enemy combinations, mini-routing, resource management) and is extremely condensed with no filler fluffs.
unlabelledView post →Yet another game claiming to be something that encourages "mastery" and "arcade style", yet is critically wounded by modern design choices. Kill Knight locks ALL of its upgrades through arbitrary, obscure challenges that do not even teach you how to play the game, but effectively makes you play the game worse to earn more weapons and armor that, if the game really was "arcade inspired", would already be given to you at the start. It's a lazy, simplistic way to extend the player's time. Rather…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fluid gameplay and cool graphics. However most gear is just bad which greatly limits build variety. The progression system is what people say it is: ♥♥♥♥. Lazy design.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game but i can not suggest it. my fingers tremble when i think about it. I cant stop thinking about playing it at work. I bought it just to have fun game on my steam deck. now i feel like a crack addict looking for his next fix! the only fix....diving further into the abyss.

unlabelledView post →Bogged Down in Its Own Complexity. For what appears to be on the surface a simple twin stick shooter Kill Knight certainly has a lot of button commands and functions that the player has to juggle. Aside, from the learning curve it also makes it a lot more cumbersome to pickup and replay after any extended period away from the title. Some players might like this depth of gameplay complexity but I think it could have gotten away with a few less mechanics. From a technical standpoint the game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kill Knight is an excellent twin stick shooter filled with style, gore, intense music and challenge. While it may feel short to some, the experience is filled with unlockables, different difficulties & ranks you can obtain, culminating in a final challenge mode called "Sever", which is all 5 stages ("layers") in a row, including the final boss. Highly recommended, hope to see more twin sticks like this.

unlabelledView post →Bro Kill Knight is one of the most thrilling & challenging twin stick bullet hell roguelites I've ever played It's perfect for Steam Deck & adjacent owners. The skill ceiling for this game is incredibly satisfying because it heavily relies on you hitting your 3 different kind of active reloads

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →UPDATE: I've finished all the levels on normal difficulty, and Kill Knight definitely grew on me, but I have a few updated points to make now. Really love the gun designs, lots of fun choices and ways to play. However, some of the gear unlock quests are just awful and require playing in a manner that feels very non-organic to the intended gameplay. For instance, one of the armour unlock quests asks that you kill something like 75 enemies in a level by doing damage when dashing through them (a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Eyes On: Die Deep (Playtest Available!) It's calling itself a hack & slash, arcade, souls-like. I don't necessarily get the Souls-like vibe, if anything it's giving a more intimately spaced Kill Knight feel, but i'd really have to play it to see how quick you can die. #indiegame s.team/a/3211560
unlabelledView post →KILLKNIGHT is a super fun twinstick shooter with an amazing depth and soundtrack. Despite only having five levels and a mode which remixes all five into one continuous stage, I got my 86 hours of playtime out of it. Still didn't manage to unlock everything and get all the achievements. My only issue with the game is that sometimes you might softlock yourself by killing enemies too fast, or lose your combo because you killed everything too fast and it didn't spawn in time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An example of a good game. Graphics, music, style, gameplay.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ain't no better feeling when you finally beat this hardcore souls-like shooter. It's like Post-Nut Clarity.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →KILL KNIGHT, developed and published by PlaySide, is a relentless and visually striking twin-stick shooter that channels the spirit of old-school arcade action through the lens of modern precision and intensity. The game throws players into the role of a resurrected warrior cast into a blood-soaked abyss, condemned to slaughter their way through demonic hordes in pursuit of the final, apocalyptic goal—to kill the Last Angel. There is no lengthy exposition, no cinematic introduction, and no…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feels bad giving this game a not recommend because this isn't about the gameplay, it's more of a buyer beware do not recommend. I actually enjoyed the game and wanted to keep playing. Something about this game really hurts my eyes, makes them water if I play for more than 30 minutes at a time. I don't have any diagnosis of epilepsy or anything like that, just something about it really strains my eyes where no other game does, even other fast paced games on my pc. I've switched between this and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yes, I like & recommend the game. It might seem similar to my love for UBERMOSH, but wait. UBERMOSH lives from it's enemy behaviour & AI. Kill Knight lives from it's input complexity. So it needs a bit of getting used to as there is timing, context sensitive triggers and attacks that need prerequisites. And all flows into a beautiful rhythm that is sort of a song that needs to be learned before it gets fun. But when it hits, it's wonderful. I really enjoy being completely sucked in as it…
