I feel like there has to be a way to weaponize this. Have the Pentagon pay the Jagged Alliance guys to make a game with a romance system.

unlabelledView post →Forewarning: this game has been abandoned by the developer, who is no longer in business. I bought it anyway because I thought it would be a decent expansion to Back in Action (BIA). Unfortunately it isn't. For the most part, the engine is the same, gameplay is more or less the same, but there are a few differences. Here's a list of points that I think are worth mentioning: 1. The map is much smaller. In terms of sectors, it's maybe half or less than half of the sectors in BIA. 2. There are…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A videogame design thing I recently appreciated is I. Jagged Alliance 3, which starts with a disclaimer that the game is supposed to be hard and you might mess up your entire playthrough but then gives you the option to make everything easier with a tag saying “not recommended”
unlabelledView post →I honestly love this game but it got abandoned by the developers and there are so many bugs and broken quests/achievements that I can't say I recommend it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After the failure of JA: Flashback, I came back to Crossfire to assure myself that not all JA after JA:2 were bad. And no, they were not. Crossfire (and it's predecessor) are good games. It maybe takes some time to get used to the new system (space stops time to let you plan your actions), but it works very well all in all. + Combat is challenging + a variety of weapons with different ammunition tomake the gun enthusiasts happy + the graphic is quite okay for the time and the genre - the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The screenshot is from Midwinter, a very ambitious 1990 Mike Singleton game for microcomputers and DOS PCs that evolves what he was doing with Lords of Midnight into a strategy-management-RPG-FPS sim. Jagged Alliance crossed with Far Cry.
unlabelledView post →There's also another XCOM/Jagged Alliance tactical game called Warhounds (lol) but it's by a Russian developer and is (apparently) a reskin for Western audiences after the previous release, set in RUSSIA'S CURRENT WAR IN UKRAINE WHERE YOU PLAY THE WAGNER GROUP, found little interest overseas FUCK^2
unlabelledView post →An underrated tactical gem. Tactical mode, added by the developers according to the feedback from gamers, makes all the difference here.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →5/10 I really, really wanted to like this game. Let me start with the good stuff so you can see that this was a worthy effort. When the game started up it felt like JA2. The look and feel, the music, all well done (even though I prefer the music in JA2, but that might be nostalgia). I liked: - The graphics - The Guns - The locations - The Music - The mechanics (mostly, getting to that) - Stability. I did not have one crash No for the bad stuff I disliked: - Artificial experience duration…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you enjoyed "Back in action" you'll enjoy this more. if you thought back in action had afew too many problems, this is basically the same game but with alot of the issues patched. i also reccomend starting with only blood as your squad, he honestly works best alone and if you will level quickly like that, this should give you an easier start if you know how to sneak (The pistol isnt too loud even unsilenced, and you can ambush the enemies. just dont aim for the head, just the torso.) if you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I guess I'm a little goofy myself for looking for a morally clean game where you play bloodthirsty mercenaries, like "the good ones" like Jagged Alliance that were mostly lead by Americans sent into "unstable countries", mostly places evoking countries that the US knocked over in the 80s.

You can check my review on it [URL=http://steamcommunity.com/id/Whiteswart/recommended/57740] HERE, if you are wondering how Back in Action connect with the previous titles, especially with the most praised and decorated Jagged Alliance 2. JA Crossfire is not taking us to Arulco. New country, now somewhere in Africa, but the drill remains the same – you are a leader of a mercs group, and you were hired to win a little…

unlabelledView post →What the hell is Jagged Alliance: Crossfire? Well, it's a turn based action, tactical game, similar to Commandos, Desperados, X-Com Series.... Once more you are in control of a Mercenary Organisation Killers for Hire :D, select your mercs carefully amongst many available to you, some will work well together others dispite each other so pick them accordingly. You mission (Campaign) if you accept it, is to liberate a country (somewhere in the Middle East) from a tyranic Warlord (terrorist,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would not recommend this to anyone that has not played Jagged Alliance 2. Both are being sold in steam for the same regular price and JA2 has much more of everything (gameplay, character depth, item details, replayability, blowing up walls... alot). JA:Crossfire is ok but don't get it unless its around $7 or less.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Almost 130 hours spent on two back-to-back playthroughs says everything you need to know about this brilliant, maddening, flawed gem of a game. There is a trick to enjoying Crossfire. And that is trying very hard not to grumble throughout like some crazed octogenarian that "it isn't Jagged Alliance 2". Judge this game on its own merits. Try hypnosis, try alcohol, try beating yourself about the head, try anything to forget JA2 ever existed. Jagged Alliance 2? Never heard of it. There. The key…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →their new tactics game really does look great, haven't snagged it yet but it's very much a game made by people who obviously loved X-Com and Jagged Alliance 2
unlabelledView post →I loved JA 1 and 2, so i bought JA:BIA. It grew up on me, ok. Not much like JA, but it's an ok game. But what really made me play the game for over 300 hours was not the difficulty. It was the bugs. An awful lot of them. And i don't mean cockroaches in boxes. Crossfire, is an expansion to that. A whole new lot of bugs, but a lot shorter campaign. And i mean a LOT shorter. I finished it in about half a dozen hours, with everyone hired, and every side quest finished. The rest of the play time…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Old and broken, like how you feel after playing it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A lot of this is the increasing costs of game development, though. It was way cheaper to bake in colossal amounts of reactivity in the era when level design was playing with a tileset and you creating a fully voiced Jagged Alliance mercenary meant putting Janet the secretary before a microphone.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really really wanted to like this game. Jagged Alliance 2 is one of my all time favorites. But this game falls short of it's lineage. It's not terrible, but's it's missing some of the personality that made JA2 great.

unlabelledView post →This the absolute worst of the Jagged Alliance games, and I own and have played every single one. It is very buggy, and we're talking game breaking bugs here. It is very short. the final city is only a couple of battles away from the starting city. Basically avoid at all costs...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's too buggy without mods. I was able to finish it after about 5 restarts, but I had to settle for the bad ending due to quest items not showing up.

unlabelledView post →I like that they're trying to argue that Jagged Alliance 2, a game from 1999, should be treated as woke... because it hints that two characters are in a lesbian relationship. Two characters that are absent from the game and only appear in an in-game "wall of fame".
unlabelledView post →In short, don't expect a clone of the classic JA / JA2 games. It is a different game with far better engine. I love it. I also love turn based games and hate RTS so don't be put off; this game is a very good hybrid of JA: BIA Just my gameplay hours for a standalone DLC of JA: BIA would be more than enough for a big big big big big recommendation of this game. Loved the game so much, I am gonna straightaway jump into the JA series continuing from this point.

unlabelledView post →It's possible for a bad video game to still be enjoyable. Jagged Alliance: Back in Action was objectively not a good game. Not *terrible* but not good by any means. It is my seventh most-played Steam game, at roughly around 335 hours.

I'll also be doing a stream, and I need a game to play! So help me choose, please! 1. Jagged Alliance! 2. Master of Orion! 3. Powermonger! 4. Settlers 2!

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Play JABIA Cross Fire if you are a fan of Back in Action. Its a stand alone game not DLC. Just use Killatomate rebalance mod first thing which is still available. If you like JABIA you will like Crossfire. If you hate it then no. I find the graphics quality in Crossfire a little better than Jabia when you max them out.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First thing which get me into Jagged Alliance series when I tried it, and it was Jagged Alliance 2, was voice acting (Steroid - obvious inspiration and mocking of Arnold Schwartzenegger and roid guys, big, strong, stupid, you know), Dr. Q (stereotypical accent and B movie wise Chinese with proverbs), Ivan (stereotypical Russian accent, Communist, Steroid don't like Communists), Meltdown (remember George Constanza's bad date from Seinfeld or Howard's mom from TBBT?), Grizzly, Barry…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game for people who think Jagged Alliance 2 is for filthy casuals.
unlabelledView post →Jagged Alliance: Crossfire is a standalone expansion to Jagged Alliance: Back in Action, which uses the same engine and delivers a more tightly contained mission on a smaller map, but suffers from being abandoned by the devs as it has a fair amount of quality of life issues and buggy quests that with a little more work could have made this game better than marginally ok. It plays fine, but I’d only recommended it to those who really love the JA series or are planning on using 3rd party…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish there were so many more games like this and Back in Action. The real time strategy and the sorta rpg and the tactical map and gameplay like there needs to be more games like this. Wonderful game, recommend JA Back in Action too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have to admit for a stand alone expansion its really good, to be honest the new JA games don't come close to the awesomeness that was JA1 and JA2 but they provide a great tactial combat game for all to enjoy. I personally love this game as I'm very much into games where you can recuit and select equipment yourself for you Mercs. The enemy AI can be a little buggy at times espically when they come rushing you rather than try and flank. but its something I can get over. The game is great.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the things I like to do with my tiny social media reach is to boost games that I think more people should play. This time I'm (again) telling people to go get Jagged Alliance 3. It's a very well done legacy sequel to the second best tactics game ever made.
unlabelledView post →I know Google Search spiraled down the drain a while ago, but the results on a Chromebook are just wild to me. If I took the quotes off 'barks', it gave me AW reviews I wasn't looking for. When I add them, well... (I've also never searched for a Jagged Alliance game in my life)

I'm porting the old Jagged Alliance 2 engine to C#, multi platform, modern PCs, and having fun. I know how to do what I need, I don't yet...
unlabelledView post →Gonna say the same thing I said on the Back in Action review stop comparing it to JA2, it's not It's still a good game, just get the realistic rebalancing mod and you're good to go while I LOVE tactics games, I'm fine with real time tactics as long as it's balanced and pausable this is just that you can set up perfectly, have sniper take a shot at a guy in the distance, and mow them down by the bushelwith an MG while your assault rifle guys take accurate killshots stay away from shotguns…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is essentially a new campaign for JA:BIA. Both games are great and severely underrated. JA:BIA got bad reviews because a lot of old-school Ja fans could not get over the fact that the engine was paused realtime instead of turn based. The tactical engine is, however, very good allthough flawed in some mechanics. The games are easily modded and a ton of fun when you get used to it. Too bad the games and the studio failed because of whiny fans because a true sequel to JA:BIA would have…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I could have looked past so many flaws in this game, even the terrible pathing problems (which are a big deal considering the plan and go combat system ) I really tried to like it, to justify spending actual money on it. No dice, uninstalled. The game forces you into micromanaging every move, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, until you realize they've given you the ABSOLUTE WORST, MOST UNRESPONSIVE USER INTERFACE KNOWN TO MAN. If you tell me a right click will move my merc, I shouldn't have…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun, although the last quest was bugged for me. Ending is unsatisfying sadly - giving you a 3 part fetch quest to complete in 3 game-days was pretty frustrating since it takes a LONG time just to walk around the map.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Jagged Alliance 3 did it right by having the default setting being zero percentages, just the game telling you the things increases and decreasing your chance to hit.
