unlabelledView post →The great power of modern reimaginings of famous vampire media, like Interview with the Vampire (AMC) or the new Nosferatu movie, lies in how they faithfully keep to the OG themes but highlight them differently, shifting the spotlight to a different angle. It makes them into excellent tributes.

unlabelledView post →If you haven't watched INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE because you've read the book, seen the movie, you already know the story—that's exactly the point of the show. It's about how stories are retold, about memory and the process of adaptation and how stories shift and change. And it's just so good.

unlabelledView post →Books to film 📚=🎞️ Interview with the Vampire (1976) by Anne Rice was filmed (1994) by Neil Jordan. Mostly faithful, the film diverges with individual characters with their age/background story. The homoeroticism of the book is changed into an intellectual/fraternal exchange. ⚰️🩸🧛♂️ #filmsky #booksky
unlabelledView post →So director Neil Jordan did an AMA on Reddit tonite & said he’s considering a director’s cut of “Interview with the Vampire.” I genuinely never thought WB would pony up the $$ for extra footage. They missed the 30th anniversary of the film last year for a 4K, but 2026 is the 50th of the novel…🤔 hmm

unlabelledView post →just finished "Interview with the Vampire" and now I must rewatch the film, because who in the world read this and thought "ah yes, Brad Pitt as Louis de Pointe du Lac" (I remember Tom Cruise being a great Lestat)
unlabelledView post →Seeing the still from Talk Radio, an incredible film, makes me so glad Eric Bogosian is still out there doing best-in-career work as the faded journalist in Interview with the Vampire. Takes the "guy who was narrated to" role and makes him as fascinating and cold as the vampires.

unlabelledView post →My favorite category to come out of the MTV Movie Awards has always been the Best Breakthrough Performance. Here is Kirsten Dunst winning for INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE (1994).
unlabelledView post →I still love the 90s Interview with the Vampire. Lovely film. But it was the 90s, and we all had to tiptoe around gay stuff. Love that the new show was like, "Nope. We're starting with teeth gnashing gay makeouts and shit! You're welcome!"

unlabelledView post →Today's #TVShow recommendation is "Interview with the Vampire". This show is so different from the movie, and it's SO GOOD. And it's an interesting mix of sequel and reboot (with the framing story set in the present being a 're-do' of the interview from the movie). Check it out!

unlabelledView post →Interview With the Vampire (1994). The bestseller adaptation the studio wanted is in Pitt's flaccid performance. The sexy and dangerous horror film Neil Jordan wanted to make is in Cruise's performance. And Dunst waltzes away with the entire thing on her tiny feet.

unlabelledView post →If I'm not mistaken, this is the opening to Interview with the Vampire, which was turned into a movie with Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. The name Lestat was also used in the film Queen of the Damned for the main vampire protagonist IIRC.

unlabelledView post →Sinners was mesmerizing. I haven't seen a film like that ever. It created a universe that was reminiscent of Anne Rice's Interview With the Vampire novel. It transported me to another time and space, yet still here on earth. Brilliant film.

Inspired by Anne Rice’s ‘The Vampire Chronicles,’ it captured the atmosphere of the novels while the ‘Interview With The Vampire’ film adaptation languished in pre-production.

Like my memory was that Cruise was really bad as Lestat but actually he rules? Him and Dunst, what performances. I think I might have just been a hater when I previously watched it 📽️ #horrorsky

unlabelledView post →Queen of the Damned- If you can believe it, I watched this *before* Interview with the Vampire. Few contrasts have ever been as stark. A true mess of a movie. Baffling pacing, straight-washed to death with two romantic leads with the least amount of chemistry every on film, and still Aliyah shines.
