The book in the movie sounds HELLA derivative; clever if metatextual. Weak point: Andy Serkis CAN'T act. #FilmSky Verdict: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
unlabelledView post →I loved the Inkheart trilogy by Cornelia Funke as a kid but I feel like it’s kind of obscure. There was a film adaptation of the first book starring Brendan Fraser but I don’t think many people saw it.
unlabelledView post →It’s also the day Inkheart came out 🫢 this movie(book) fr ties everything in from Rapunzel to Wizard of Oz to Arabian Nights to Cinderella to finding an author’s OG manuscript. If a character is read off the page wrong they come out of the book with ink on their face and other imperfections
unlabelledView post →I loved this book but I don’t think I’ve seen this since it came out so can’t remember it but the cast is outstanding #filmsky 📽️ Trying to watch more fun fantasy movies but it’s hard to find, would appreciate any recs of this type. Inkheart

unlabelledView post →I will never shut up abt Inkheart trilogy by Cornelia Funk. It's been 15 years since I read it, but I read it twice, movie based on the first book has Brendan Fraser & Paul Bettany in it, & the world in these books is so beautifully written it's been living in my head rent-free this entire time

unlabelledView post →Thanks to listener requests, @brennacgray.bsky.social and @joelipsett.bsky.social dig into Cornelia Funke's INKHEART and its 2008 film adaptation starring Brendan Fraser. It's...not what we expected. In addition to less driving, Joe wanted more fantasy, while Brenna wanted more famous characters.

unlabelledView post →"Bad aptations of books Lilly read in middle school" movie night is done! Stormbreaker wasn't great, but better than I expected. Inkheart was *almost* there, but I think tried to do too much. And Artemis Fowl sucked in more ways than I thought possible.

unlabelledView post →Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children is actually such a good movie — I can’t believe I didn’t watch it sooner. It’s a bit dated and kind of reminds me of Inkheart. Definitely a must-watch.
unlabelledView post →I volunteer if you ever wanna talk about the InkHeart movie.
unlabelledView post →Also Inkheart, by Cornelia Funke. Has a film adaptation no less
unlabelledView post →The most relatable movie villain isn't who you think. Unless you think it's that guy from Inkheart(?) who comes to the real/our world and is like, "Duct tape! I LOVE duct tape!" Because it's totally him.
unlabelledView post →Happy Thursday! Celebrate with a brand new episode on the 2008 film Inkheart! open.spotify.com/episode/5qyN...
unlabelledView post →Someone tell somebody that we need shows based on these book series: -Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children -Inkheart -The Saga of Darren Shan There has been a movie of each of them already but they were all awful. So much potential 🙌
unlabelledView post →Probably Inkheart (can't quite make it work) or the Lost City of D which is just such a fun movie 😂
unlabelledView post →You won't regret it. I discovered Cornelia through the Brendan Fraser movie Inkheart and read the Inkheart series as an adult. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
unlabelledView post →Inkheart was a forgettable film even for fans of Brendan Fraser, but for two things: 1) Andy Serkis as a villain without a stupid voice 2) it’s my first official screen credit 😊 www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UvK...
unlabelledView post →Got reminded yesterday that Inkheart is a film that exists, and while I know it wasn't the best thing ever made I do remember it giving me warm & fuzzy feelings It has a stellar cast, as well, hot damn
unlabelledView post →Somewhere between. The protagonist of the movie InkHeart and Murder She Wrote
unlabelledView post →It's all The Mummy this and The Mummy that (understandably). But Inkheart is such a slept on Brendan Fraser film

unlabelledView post →Yeah like remember Inkheart? Very different from the book I’d read before seeing the movie and yet I loved it!

unlabelledView post →Haven’t read the books, but the Inkheart movie is one of my favorite movies. I love stories about meta-stories, where characters in the story interact with stories within their story. Yes, I love Last Action Hero, why do you ask?
unlabelledView post →Ooo the Mothman one sounds like a great pick!! Also, love the book collection; I see Inkheart!! That was such a great read and film!! 📚🤩
unlabelledView post →Have you seen him in Inkheart? Its surprisingly lesser known movie but one of my favorites, I was a big fan of Funke's original trilogy, and I wanted to make a movie on it (when I was a kid I wanted to be a film writer/director). Huh, I thought it was a common interpretation that Stan was about

unlabelledView post →My favorite book series from when I was a kid is Inkheart. This man done bought me the movie and said he’s looking for the book set for Valentines Day 🥺 my inner child is screaming
unlabelledView post →5 - Inkheart Ah yes, my first contact with an adaptation of a book that I loved and said 'man this movie sucks'. Please read the trilogy instead also, I may be one of the few people in the planet that liked the endgame pair lol
unlabelledView post →An early work out, then rested and made a chicken dinner, and now a movie, called Inkheart, I think.
unlabelledView post →Inkheart was a pretty fun book, and it made a pretty fun movie. One thing I’ll forever be grateful for is the “Shirtless Dustfinger Juggles Fire” scene. My teenage self just about needed to fetch the smelling salts, goodness me. (Paul Bettany is so HANDSOME in this one omg.)
unlabelledView post →Inkheart was childhood and I love the film too. Yes, The colour of revenge came out last year and takes place 5 years later.
unlabelledView post →I almost put Inkheart up today ... This was childhood I also adore the film 🥹
unlabelledView post →Not seeing any love for Inkheart but I still love that movie.

unlabelledView post →Inkheart was a very mid movie in general but I often think about Jim Broadbent's character who wrote the in-universe book and is a sad lonely old man and at the end of the movie gets sent to live forever in the book he wrote and man that is the realest shit ever
unlabelledView post →Randomly remembered catching a hallmark movie about a girl being isekai'd into a Jane Austen novel and she is played by the girl from the movie version of Inkheart which is about book characters being reverse-isekai'd into the real world and man what a weird instance of typecasting
unlabelledView post →Watching a film called Inkheart. It's just the right amount of silly, serious and fantasy that I love. 4/5 stars
unlabelledView post →There's a book trilogy called the Inkheart collection (first one was made into a movie) and I can't stop giggling because the third one is called Inkdeath and it reminds me to much of twink death
unlabelledView post →I hear they are! I've read the books multiple times, but I never got around to watching the complete movie series. Easily one of my favorite book series next to Inkheart.
unlabelledView post →365 Days of Films Day 360 Inkheart 2008 Just like every good 80's child I am a Brendan Fraser fan and while this movie may not have extremely high ratings it is a heck of a lot of fun and worth and watch and a rewatch every few years. #filmsky #movies #moviesky
unlabelledView post →It should not be difficult for me to decide I don't like a book that much and put it down... But it is so hard! I started the Inkheart series (mostly because Brendan Fraser stars in the movie) and it is good, but it just isn't grabbing me. I think this series will be a DNF. #booksky

unlabelledView post →I love the Inkheart series so much and the movie makes me irrationally angry. it's ONLY redeeming quality is Brenden Fraser and NOTHING else
unlabelledView post →The Hangover was a smashing success but in retrospect one must ask "why?" I had a soft spot for Coraline, but not anymore. At least I can reminisce on Inkheart as feel good movie. Zombieland was cute. District 9 was awesome and unexpected but at the same time it became overrated quickly.

unlabelledView post →Ok so there's this movie/book called Inkheart where people have the ability to make whatever or whoever is in books real. My question is what happens when you find out you have this ability while agreeing to read a Bible passage at your local church?
unlabelledView post →| 3 | Inkheart • book • While the movie was a horrible miss, this childhood book series is one of the few that I'll forever hold dear. If someone made a proper TV series for it like LOTR, I'd be the first to watch! #aboutme
unlabelledView post →It seems that the common thread between most of my favourite childhood books is terrible film adaptations: Eragon, Inkheart, Cirque du Freak, Artemis Fowl. Not surprising that the one to buck that trend was When Marnie Was There, thanks to Studio Ghibli
