Industry Giant 2
Developer Fancy Bytes, Reactor
Industry Giant II (German: Der Industriegigant II) is a business simulation game for Windows. It is the sequel to Industry Giant. Despite a wide range of aspects Industry Giant II is not a complete business simulation game, as many management aspects such as finance, sourcing or HR are hardly present. The 'free game' option allows the player not to worry about turning a profit. From Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0)

I have spent about 2-3 hours searching the web for solutions, but I could find no one that works. There is a Nvidia Modd that say it could make Industry Giant II work, but I was not so lucky. Buy at your own risk. Nvidia owners beware!

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game really sucks, even for being from the 90s. Even back then I would have considered this the worst game ever made, and I usually love this kind of game. Theres 5 or 6 buildings total and you just make them make different things. Then connect warehouses by trains. It seems like this is where the idea for transportation games might have come from. Anyway, then the stuff sales in stores. You have to put warehouses close enough to factories or stores. If you play with competition, sales…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Industriegigant 2 is the best industry strategy game. The game was made in Ebensee (Salzkammergut, Austria) by JoWood back in 1999-2002.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of my favourite games of all time. I've played through it on four separate occasions, and I'm sure there will be a fifth. As of April 2022, the version you are getting on Steam is the upgraded Gold edition with all the additional content. The "hard" campaign is a challenge, particularly "Northern Sund" and "Christmas Bay". If you like old school management sim games which are not a walkover, then this is highly recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this game for the third time (2 times on discs, standard and golden edition). I had a hope that this one would be a fixed version... But no, there are still graphical glitches: ingame texts glitches frequently that it cannot be read; textures glitch a lot; no LoD, so when zoomed out it's slows down. A game crashes when you try to add repair station. Cannot load a multiplayer LAN game - this is extremely sad. Generally great project but written just to work, slighty polished for Steam…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Old time fan of this game, played on CRT monitors. Essentially supply/ demand and supply chain game with lots of twists. There are various targeted campaigns and free form games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it can get you gripped for hours and with a new IG4 coming it is worth getting use to it

Big Thank You To Steam For Having The Game In Your Library
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful and awesome. I played much more before it was on steam and them re-bought it because I lost the original copy. :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely great one, the scenarios in particular are truly well designed, each is a unique challenge. Ive played 500 hours and am not close to stopping. Buy this now if you are even remotely interested, you'll love it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good old game, a little basic by today's standard but was pretty great for the time. If you got some time to kill and like a good game for basic industry sim this is a great deal for the price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Timeless Classic Industry Giant 2 holds a special place in my heart as one of the most captivating economic simulation games I've ever played. I've sunk countless hours into it, both off and on Steam, and each moment has been a rewarding journey of strategic decision-making and business management. What makes Industry Giant 2 stand out is its ability to immerse players in the intricacies of building and running a thriving industrial empire. From the excitement of constructing your first…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still the best biz/logistics management game. I hope a modern game will be made with similar depth. I can't find a replacement after 2 decades later.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best game in it's genre EVER!!!!! 6 campaigns - a lot of fun, loads of free maps. Works fine on Win10-64
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my favourites. Has stood the test of time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An out of date game which lacks of Quality of Life features and uninteresting train system, not industrial system as the title advised. There is no keyboard shortcut and the game itself is already micro-management intensive. The background sound drives me crazy and is prone to cause heart-attack due to the over-tuned volume of car horn (as loud as a car is running behind you) or a sawmill cutting sound (x3 bigger than UI sound). The transport vehicles are like joke, they claim to run 70 mph yet…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its not only the best industry game.....it's also the only industry game. Close seconds go to, Railroad Empire, Planet coaster, Factorio...but in essence, this type of "choose which market you want to be in" is unique. More of this please. It's a genre that needs expanding. Recommending not only for posterity, but also in hopes of other devs making newer revamped versions of this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/99Tk62jbirQ The core formulas are still as strong as ever, but the decade+ old interface drags the experience down. Turn a profit from handling the supply and production chains of dozens of products many with multiple intermediate steps makes quickly turns this into a puzzle game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am probably going to get this one. While I really enjoy complex transport management games (Transport Fever 2, Industry Giant 2, Voxel Tycoon), there are times when I want a pick and play transport management experience (I typically spend 30-40 minutes on planning after map generation in Transport Fever 2).
unlabelledView post →Hi I am a gamer who played this game when it came out on CD What I would like to request is Korean language support I don't know if I remember correctly, but there was Korean language support, but I think it's gone now Even though 20 years have passed, it is still one of my favorite games I want to play this game again, but it's sad that it doesn't support Korean Of course, I think maintenance costs will be difficult because the Korean market for simulation games is small If maintenance cost…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lean 6 Σ: the game. A good close system supply chain simulator. Has a pretty decent supply/demand simulation but very limited external markets system. Has an engaging campaign and sandbox / free play mode, but for the latter you need to know what you're doing. If you're planning a career in supply chain management, production and sales management (avoiding overproduction and maximizing supply) then it's a must have. Supply / demand simulation is a good start for a more intuitive…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unless you are playing this game with rose tinted glasses I do not recommend this game. It has its good and bad parts, but there are just better games than IG2. I got about 30 hours of playtime by playing through the 3 dlc campaigns, which I feel like is a good amount of time for the price point. The achievements do require 100 hours of playtime though which is unfortunate.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The fact that this game is so ancient yet I keep coming back for it every now and then should tell you enough to invest your 5-10 bucks!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No more updates and a poor migration to windows 10. (it is/was great game!)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really easy economic game from my childhood. It might appear complex at the beginning, but once you get into it, you'll see that it's quite easy going. Plus you can learn about history of certain products from in-game encyclopedia, so there's also educational factor to it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Maybe I didn't give it enough time, but it seems that I have seen most of the game's mechanics. The core gameplay (as in, where you make decisions that influence things) is mostly about clunky logistics (unrealistic and inconvenient 'load this item in this slot and go to that place, where you should have 2 of this item and one of that and then drop off the rest there'), lots of warehouses that you struggle to build within range of simulatenously a few of your factories and a shop or two, mostly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Welcome to placing trains in a thrilling exciting ECONOMICAL fashion. Place a train from your storage, to.... ANOTHER STORAGE!! watch as the item gets driven in a adrenaline pumping 25km/h and then... RETURN! Place more trains!! Add more storages!!! Feel the madness of trains and storages! Customize your trains with various content, such as GOLD! or TRICYCLES! or if youre really really mad: BREAD! Do this all in win95 graphics rebranded as RETRO as you see a 4 pixel bird flap by for no…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Steam should have a nuetral catigory. That's what I'd rate it, because for some, it's a good game, but for others like me it isn't. If you like micro-managing business & industry, you'll probably like it. But if you want a good transport game, it isn't. In this game you build a store, then a warehouse, then a farm factory, then resourse mines, then mills, then factories, then warehouses again. The only reason to build transport is to go from warehouse to warehouse. Then you track & change…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Could not play the game. It would only load to 1/4 of my screeen. I have a 24 in 4k monitor. I switched the size in options to every single size option, and the biggest it got was top left 1/4. Save you money and get a good game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Straight to the point: PROS: -Easy to learn -Working multiplayer (to some degree, about wich in cons) -You can create your own doughnut empire! -Nostalgia! I played this game when I was, like, 10 or something -You can create your own Starbucks -You have to manage everything: raw materials, production, transportation, prices and many more CONS: -UI is a bit rusty (well, it's a 15 years old game, what did you expect?) -Some bugs -I have a really hard time trying to load a multiplayer game, but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Industry Giant 2 is a deep, systems-driven economic strategy title developed by Fancy Bytes and Reactor and published by Toplitz Productions that caters squarely to players who enjoy meticulous planning, long-term optimization, and watching complex economies unfold over decades. Rather than focusing on fast-paced objectives or flashy presentation, the game is built around the slow, deliberate construction of an industrial empire, starting in the early 20th century and expanding through…

There are various modes of transportation and set up production for a vast array of products depending on your chosen playstyle. It could be industries related to food, cars and more. Back in the day it was an excellent and highly engaging game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thanks to the developers for a happy childhood, this game was the second one on my netbook in 2010 and it gave me a lot of unforgettable experiences, I definitely spent several hundred hours in it and really love every mission in this game. With love, your user)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2 euro for a classic, I never could play this game, constant freezes and crashes...finally its IG2 time, after 20 years of waiting.. (i've set compatibility mode to win95 on the .exe file in the install map). Question: If you can make a game about being an industry giant, how do you go bankrupt?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple graphics, deep economics.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice game, a bit old right now, but worth it. I hope for a remake!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Classic from my childhood. Still relaxing and challenging at the same time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a classic. I am playing this games for years and still it is best in his level. Several new versions are tried to built up. None of them have the soul of this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has been vastly improved since it was just a computer disc based game by JoWood. I used to keep an old computer around just to be able to play it glitch free. Its a business simulation game that deals with the collection of raw product, creation of product from raw and manufactured goods, and transportation of goods via rail, truck, train. Fun game if you like these kinds of games, one track sound track gets old fast.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Both tutorial and game are broken. The 1st tutorial talked about zoom, overview, that the weather is good, and that was it. You're left staring at the map. My play time: 1st tutorial - You're supposed to be able to set down a farm, except the game doesn't let you place anything anywhere. Skipped. 2nd tutorial - I was able to place a mine, but couldn't place the storage area again anywhere. Everywhere I tried it was too far away even if it was right next door. Skipped. 3rd tutorial - Didn't…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At its core, this is a pretty decent game. It could have been really good if they had bothered to finish it. In its current state, it plays like an early beta. The base game concept is great, but everything around it is not: * No keybind settings * Settings don't work or changing them makes the game crash (sound) * Settings reset when you start a new mission * Speed controls exist, but you have to Google to find out where they are as there is no UI * Controlling vehicle routes is very tedious…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoy this game. This seems to be the grandfather of Rise of Industry, which I also like. This one focuses a bit more on transportation than RoI though. Learning curve is a bit steep (definitely need to play the tutorials) but once you get the hang of it you're good to go. Only issue I have had is the occasional deadlock with trains- sucks to have to delete an expensive train or three to untangle the traffic, but that's the fix.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having only recently purchased Industry Giant II on Steam (I originally bought the title back when PC games were still sold in boxes), I am astounded at how well the title has held up. Sure, the graphics are a little dated, and the UI needs some improvement, but the core of the game is still unbelievably solid. If you have a little patience for handling the flaws of older games, I highly recommend Industry Giant II. Let's hope that the rumors of a third title are well-founded, as it would be…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →best game ever thanks for fixing it for newer winOS thanks steam for providing support for linux
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It might be old but it's still damn good and can really hold it's own alongside some of the newer games of the same ilk. Worth the outlay even at the stated price but even more so when it's on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well i had big hopes originally for this game, i wanted it for a while and when i saw it recently on discount, i just had to purcahse it. But sadly as good as this game looks, it just isnt compatible with modern graphic cards and monitors. negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is my favorite tycoon game of all-time. Don't let the age scare you. This game is tremendous. Shame of the folks that brought out Industry Giant 4, hot garbage compared to the predecessor.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Industry Giant 2 isn’t exactly brand-new anymore, but it’s still an entertaining and engaging economic simulation. You can definitely feel its age, since the gameplay and quality-of-life features aren’t really state of the art, but it’s still fun to play through the campaigns. Achievements Required time: 20-30 Hours (for the campaigns) Difficulty (in my opinion): 5/10 DLCs required for 100%?: No As for the achievements, the game is actually pretty straightforward: you just need to complete…
