Hard to recommend this game in its current state. This game could have been an interesting little diversion in the genre, but it is plagued with many small issues that add up to a poor experience. : Some items here got fixed, good job devs! Fixed items are marked. The Good: + The core gameplay is pretty solid, no bugs here. + The combat mechanics have enough complexity to be interesting. + Vampires are pretty cool I guess. The Bad: - The AI is awful and extremely predictable. Due to the…

After playing for >100 hours, completing the campaign, and finishing +16 sandbox with all factions, i can say that this game is, for the better parts : - Stable/Playable (I encountered no game crash, nor errors, with the "worst" bug being solved by simply surrendering the fighting in which i was stuck.) (Played on an Acer Nitro N50-600, I5-8400 CPU 2.8GHz, NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB, 8G RAM) - Enjoyable (Some part of the campaign may be more difficult than others but taken on the right angle, they…

RESUME A "we have to launch this game now to earn a profit" turn-based strategy game in a fantasy-vampire setting with lots and lots of wasted potential. I was very conflicted to recommend or not recommend this game since there is fun to be had. However the quality of the software is bad and just reeks of bad game design, incompetent software development (probably very, very agile). (My recommendation is to study Barbara Mintos "The Pyramid Principle") POSITIVE + It's a turn-based strategy…

Review by [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/34633003-Gaming-Masterpieces/lists/] Gaming Masterpieces - The greatest games of all time on Steam. Is this game a masterpiece? No, it is a streamlined 4x strategy game with an underdeveloped enemy AI, which hurts in a single player game. Expand your kingdom conquering neigbouring provinces. Defeat your enemies in turn-based battles. Use cards for special effects. Not too complicated, but all the core aspects are working fine, the lore…

Unfortunately cannot recommend. The game isnt bad but mediocre. The early game is pretty interesting but mid-game and end-game is tedious and boring: 1. You start with a vamp hero that improves abilities over the first 5 or so levels but after that nothing. Your heroes get stronger but no new abilities or improving of abilities. 2. The RNG for hero generation is quite bad. Example: You play the Moroia who cannot regen mana. When you recruit a new vamp hero it will give you heroes where half…

A.I. cheats too much for this game to be fun. It'll spawn full sized armies out of the blue with high level lords, decimating your lords instantly. Also, this game needs a difficulty slider. I could probably write an entire book on what's wrong with this game, but I'm not going to.

Overall I enjoyed this game, but can't recommend it since the Devs abandoned the game shortly after it was released. It appears we will not get any new content or patches to fix bugs or other balancing issues. Too bad really, the game had potential to be a good HOMM style game.

I forced myself to complete the campaign and tried to play at least one sandbox game. - There's some personal preferences like the voice acting and the UI, but if a game is good at its core that should not be a big deal. - The strategic gameplay starts out slow, but things will get better. As soon as you get a strong blood-economy rolling and use you clan experience to make some actions free, generate new action points or other benefits, you can get a lot done. Don't forget to be creative…

I want to like the game. But why does the game have to be so unfairly difficult? Why is there no difficulty settings? The developers do not understand that most people are not masochists and actually want to enjoy playing a game. All the game's faults can be overlooked if the game was playable. This game is like going to a party looking to have fun but instead getting jumped and beaten half to death.

I was really looking forward to this game, the concept of playing different vampire factions in tactical battles, building up your forces, collecting resources and so on, sounded really cool. But then I found out the gameplay is really repetitive and AI cheats like crazy. I have to grind for multiple turns, saving blood to build up at least decent army and AI spawns units every turn without any restrictions. That is not fun at all and makes game too difficult to complete, I had to restart…

I am surprised by all the negative reviews. I love this game. I played it previously in a beta as well. This game has two main parts combat and management. The combat is very detailed, each unit has some special abilities and you have to figure how to combine them in the best way. On top of that you can use cards for mana. Also you can get different perks in each fight by either dealing damage or healing... The management parts differs depending on what clan you play as. For example I play as…

It's a fun game and can reward strategic placements on maps where you can bottleneck but the campaign missions starting from mission 3 can be REALLY punishing to the point that you can get in for about 3 hours and then fall at the end. If it had difficulty options then for the less hardcore who want to see how the story ends. I did manage to actually finish the whole story but it ends in such a downer and the final fight is just as bad as Dracul mission 3. It feels like you're against an…

Buuuuuuuuuuuut... -CRASHES FREQUENTLY (Crashed 4 times in the 2 hour span I played it, and it's the only game crash at all out of the 50+ games I have) -CAN'T SELECT UNITS (They are auto selected and in predetermined orders with "initiative" which could hypothetically be fun if the battlefield was not tiny, cramped and full of…

the game is alright, the main campaign act 3 dragul is extremely difficult and you need to have near perfect game play to do it, the enemy continually attacks every 2 or 3 turns after you get first keep, it is almost impossible to actually do the mission, you start with a negative deficit of blood per turn and have only so many turns to get it out of deficit on top of continua non stop attacks, if you do not manage your resources perfectly in the first 5 or 6 turns you might as well restart the…

I have been a turn based gamer for 40 years and this is an interesting game, with decent graphics and turn based combat. The cards you use to pick different abilities and the like is a cool feature. Overly simplistic. Total War Light. Basic Kalypso Media fare, honestly. Basic UI and poorly executed UI, uninspired factions, bland (and long) campaign missions. I bought it because I wanted a vampire themed game...should've just watched Blade, I suppose. If you want a time sink, it's ok to get on sale (which I did, thankfully), but if this brand of game is something you're interested in, there are plenty of other titles that will scratch this kind of itch.

3/10 I didn't have the highest hopes going into this one but, I love the genre and I have a soft spot for turn based tactical games even though they're often not so tactical... like this one. The AI is glaringly simple minded and the only tactical option you have(aside from certain hero/troop/item special abilities) is to force the enemy into a bottleneck and grind them down. You still just mostly need to have more powerful troops, that's it. All of that wouldn't be so bad if the empire…

its an okay game, would be great but this game needs a difficulty slider. It is beatable, but the way its currently balanced you have to play exactly the right way, and the way the developer wants you to play the game. There is no wiggle room to try out different styles of gameplay.

KAMGUSTA'S MINI REVIEW It's not bad. It's not good, either. It's a simple strategy game with Vampires and cards added in just because "they are cool". Enemy AI is mediocre, so you may win also outnumbered battles. You can't attack and then move. You can't move your archers and then fire. Units level up only 2 times. UI is a little messy. There are only 5 maps, with streamlined paths. All together, everything still works... somehow. Best played with mouse and keyboard Recommended buy price: 5$…

Seriously... I dont know how someone could create this game and ♥♥♥♥ it up this badly. They obviously like game like Warcraft (1-3) and other games like DoS. The big problem is they decided that there is only one right way to play the game (on hard mode). I saws a developer comment earlier and he said something like, "Scenarios might have to be played more than once to beat them. This will make the game more enjoyable for everyone." My play time is low because most of it was early access. They did not fix the problems from the beta and all the hard campaigns rely on timers to make them hard because the generally what you do is build a squad of your factions end game units. in the second campagin you have a card that you can save up a couple of copies of in order to nuke the last boss down to 10% health before you start the fight. The idea is good but there is no balance to speak of.

Overview Vampires seem to be an even bigger hit in recent months than they usually are. Maybe it’s the smell of Bloodlines 2 in the air, or maybe we’re just shifting our focus from zombies for a bit. Either way, like zombies, vampires can be great if done well but, like many genres, an utter disaster if done poorly. I, for one, am happy to see the recent explosion in blood-sucking titles especially when they’re adding something new that we haven’t seen before. Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars…

Currently I have played through the Dracul Campaign Act I & Act II and have spent some hours on Act III. So far I am very pleased. I love vampire universes and Diablo style graphics, which I think this game has a hint of, so the visuals are right up my alley. Also, even on ultra settings, the game is 100% fluent, which I suspect is in part due to a lower polycount on models than you may see in other games, but for this game and the experience I have with it, it is the right choice. At the time of writing this review, the overall score for Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars sits at "Mixed". I'd like to throw my review in the mix and say that I really disagree with this. The game is perfectly playable and there is nothing wrong with it that a few good patches can't fix. Most notably the UI could be a bit more clear and informative. The TL;DR is this: Even if the game wasn't about vampires, the game mechanics are unique and interesting enough that it would be an instant…

has been done better before (look no further than Age of Wonders for example) The only interesting thing Immortal Realms brings to the table is the vampire theme and that doesn't last for long... The whole game feels lifeless (pun not intended) and the camera controls also leave much to be desired. You need to understand why I like this game. I love vampire universes and Diablo style graphics, which I think this game has a hint of, so the visuals are right up my alley. It is because it is enjoyable to play. It is because it has great ambience and good graphical design. It has a decent enough story, as such things go; it is not great, but I found it engaging. This game is good. Not great but good. The core gameplay loop is repetitive but solid, and easily pulled me in for hours. The Art style is great as well. So if you play this game just on the skirmish maps or in multiplayer, you'll have a fun, if shallow experience. Now for my criticisms, which only really apply if you played and cared about the campaigns, which I assume everyone does since they serve as a good introduction to the different factions and their style while in-game. I'd give it a go at a discounted price. What it does well: - Atmosphere - Art style - Melding of genres - Unique factions - Good mechanics What it needs to lean into more: - Content and play modes, replayability depreciates quickly. - Game balance and AI - Writing, a simple plot can be just fun as long as the story keeps rolling along. The bad: - Difficulty is less a curve and more like wild spikes and crashes, it's just all over the place. - Randomization can bring a brand new game to an…

Absolutely *killer* grid-based, turn-based combat in this one with some twists and good AI that make it a pure joy to take part in! Hard to exactly judge things off the first Campaign, which doesn't have all the features activated as you play it, but still gives a very promising preview of what's to come with the game's included other 3 Campaigns (which gradually raise up the difficulty and add new features in each one, presumably.) If only this game wasn't abandoned. I'm removing it now after so long, but this game had a lot of potential. Hasn't been touched in years though, so don't waste your time. It's fun at first but the mid to end-game gameplay loop gets really stale. Maybe good for a few hours of fun.

Immortal Realms kinda reminds me of those fringe early 2000's RTS games that were kinda great but kinda janky but also usually possessed some real charm to them. There was something that made you recommend them to others but most people you knew had never heard of them, games like Battle Realms, War of the Ring or Empire Earth. Immortal Empires reminds me of them with its clumsy in engine cut scenes, its hammy but not out of place voice acting and a campaign that has heart but not a lot of…

Ok, first of all is not a bad game, I finished it and wasn't that hard... actually, is quite easy to win, you just get 4 healers and 5 archers and at the start of a battle you put all of the units on one corner of the map forming a square, placing the weakest units behind the strongest and that's it, you start attacking the ones that come closer and heal the ones who got hurt... and with the moroia clan the second tier of archers are actually healers as well, so that's that, no way to lose…

Although i really like round based strategy games and despite the bad reviews, i bought the game on sale to support that small development team. The concept is great and i had fun, BUT the game constantly crashes every few minutes. Just sad.

It’s beautiful. Not beautiful in the sense of photorealistic high-end graphics, but beautiful in the far rarer sense of good and evocative design that gives all four factions (the fourth being the unplayable humans) a unique theme and fits them well into the four different realms. The map buildings update to reflect who controls them and which upgrades they have unlocked. There is no need to open new windows to see what upgrades any building has. All units are displayed within their army in the…

NEED DIFFICULTY SETTINGS!!!! I love the challenge of the game but Dracul act 4 is ridiculous. Armies with tier 3 units all over the map and I have a crappy army from the start and the blood income is terrible. Again the game is alot of fun and challenging but there are some areas and bugs that make you want to stop playing it.
