DO NOT PURCHASE THIS: There is a developer/moderator (Derek, The Derektor) that has been banning people left and right simply because they gave constructive criticism about the game on Discord. They will completely revoke your access to the entire game (even offline modes), just for voicing an opinion they disagree with. Really fun game, sad to see that bad development decisions by a power-tripping manchild have ruined it's potential.

❌ NOT RECOMMENDED — 720+ hours, and this is how it ends I have over 720 hours in HumanitZ. I didn't spend that much time in a game I hated. I genuinely enjoyed it and invested a huge amount of time into it. Unfortunately, my experience with Dera (Derek), particularly the way he handled my case and the moderation surrounding it, has completely changed my opinion of the game and its developers. About a month ago, I was permanently banned from the HumanitZ Steam Community Hub for "Harassment of…

Banning people from community or online access is acceptable if the party at fault makes the mistake. But banning them entirely from the product itself like offline access, without REFUNDS is unacceptable, even though they pay for the product. This is against Steam's policy and violation of consumer rights. This is not justice, but power tripping from inflated ego. In addition, there are prominent issues with hackers that are not being addressed, bugs, and progress not saving that are not…

Unfortunently when emotionally unstable Developers play their own game on official servers (Dera to be exact) (Official Us East 001 PvP) they will ban you if you upset there feelings. In 20+ years i have never once in my life been banned from a game. This would be a first. asked why i could not connect to any server on their official discord. and the developer Dm'd me claiming he permanently banned me from all servers for hate speech..... telling someone to stop complaining / nagging after…

I will start by saying that the game is fun, but I will explain below the reasons why I cannot recommend it at this point. What works: The core of the game (items, cars, repairing the cars, guns, tools, buildings), the gunplay, the atmosphere, the graphics and the main quest. These are well done. The base is solid, but the game needs a lot of improvements to be good. What's not good: The Looting System: - the gameplay loop has a big issue. It's like this: you go out scavange for 30…

TL;DR: A highly customizable solo-friendly survival game with great atmosphere, meaningful tension, and a strong gameplay loop. Some jank, bugs, and lack of variety hold it back, but the devs are responsive and the foundation is excellent. 8/10 — easy to sink hundreds of hours into. Those of you who like detail: Before anything else, I want to say that the devs genuinely listen to community feedback and are extremely responsive, which honestly deserves recognition. I really hope the…

There’s a compelling concept at the heart of this game - a survival experience that should pit you against zombies, hunger, and a harsh world. Unfortunately, that potential is consistently undermined by a layer of technical and design frustrations that make it difficult to recommend in its current state. The primary struggle isn't with the game's intended challenges, but with its clunky mechanics. It feels like the developers were limited by their tools, experience, or both, leading to a…

Still feels like early access. You play the game for half an hour and have a handfull of "just why?" situations. -Why is it so difficult to hit zombie who are crawling? You have to crouch sometimes even in order to be able to hit them. -Why does a single zombie runs towards from across the street, while you are sneaking and know excactly where you are? (no line of sight, no noise) -Why do you have to use a submenu to drop an item. Why can't I put it in the vacinity slot? -Why can't you tilt…

Another game making people pay to be playtesters. This used to be a job that game development studios would pay decent money for people to do. Now YOU pay the game devs to test their garbage product that will never get finished and eventually die before ever having a solid playerbase. Wake up people, if you stop buying into this ♥♥♥♥ they might actually be forced to make decent games again.

I can't recommend this game for solo players, maybe multiplayer is good, but not single player. Honestly I'd give the game 7 out of 10, for people who want a multiplayer Dayz like experience this could be great but for me, who was looking for more of a Project Zomboid vibe, this just doesn't hit. This game looks good and runs well and the whole idea behind it, ( zombies, survival, open world, looting) sounded exactly like what I wanted. I have over 7500 hrs in PZ over 2 accounts. Let me start by saying this game COULD be a PZ killer, but it needs some love. 1st off, let me say that, in order to get the TRUE experience this game was meant to implement, do yourself a HUGE favor and install 2 mods: "Better Car Camera" and "Better Camera Control". (still works in update 1.02) The Devs never implemented this and it is insane to me and the reason I uninstalled the demo. Come on people...WHAT are you doing?!!!! The default camera…

TLDR: Game is buggy, wait till it's not. Devs prioritize servers over solo gameplay. I love this game, the only reason I'd recommend not buying it now, is because of the bugs. The bugs don't happen all the time, but when they do they can render your save file useless. I know some players in the community don't like quests, but I do. I recently started a new world cause I died in a perma-death one (60+ days). The quest I'm having trouble with is known to be buggy, "Missing For Fuel" but through…

I started the game with positive outlook at first. The game feels like someone looked at Project Zomboid and thought “what if we did this in 3D, but worse?” The isometric camera is a mistake. Rotating the camera feels awkward, movement never fully clicks, and the cursor behavior is straight up bad. Instead of a proper free cursor like in Zomboid, you get this weird up-and-down constrained mess that constantly reminds you you’re fighting the controls. The UI does not help either. It is…

The game has the potential to be extremely good, but right now is ruined by a single half-baked mechanic that can literally spell the end of a playthrough in a matter of seconds with no way for the player to prevent the character's death. The horde spawning mechanic can randomly kick in at specific time intervals during the day or night cycle in the game, causing up to tens of zombies to suddenly spawn all around the player and immediately converge on the player character himself. There is…

Right from the start it gives me vibes similar to Project Zomboid, which is a good thing. The concept and atmosphere are there, and you can see the potential. The state of this game is pretty bad. Starting spawns are not well done. Lag. Crashes. There is a ridiculous amount of jank in the game. Aiming is odd. Whenever it auto saves, the game locks up for a few seconds. I have yet to discover a clean way of getting rid of unused backpacks. It's cool being able to destroy a shelf or table, but I can't destroy everything on the shelf or table, so some things are just hanging in mid air. Too slow, too clunky, not for me I guess. A different execution of this concept would, but this just doesn't feel right. Beheading a zombie with an axe. Feels appropriate. But exactly the same happens when you hit one with a club. And the controls are frustrating at best. Don't take my word for it though. Try the game. Within 2 hours you know 100% how it plays and there is always the option to refund it.

And, they're now more focused on PVP stuffs and banning people on official servers instead of fixing/improving their own game? Nah bro, this sucks.

Interesting setup, good concept and nice atmosphere, but bad execution in many places. The game is very much in unfinished state. Plenty of smaller bugs and multiple and repeatable game-breaking bugs that will end your run. Broken mechanics, some unfinished locations, game lags and poor optimization, even in solo offline. Horrible combat with a lot of stuttering, omnidirectional sounds, unexplained mechanics, poor tutorial. The list go on. The dev studio publicly declared their roadmap that is…

The game seems to really struggle with what it is trying to be. It seems like a mix of Dayz, Project Zomboid and Days Gone. It tries to do what a lot of other games do but does it poorly. There isn't much of a story in the game and most of the quests seem to be a fetch and deliver type of quest. Additionally, the balancing and placement of items doesn't really make much sense and cars decay way too fast for logic. Tried to play this, my god it has not aged well. I know this is an indie game, but the bugs, the awful controls, the tedious inventory/keybind management, the performance.. the list just goes on. I would have recommended this if it was still in EA, but it's now a 1.0 release and its in a bad state, this is not an acceptable state for fully released product. Hopefully they will at the very least get all the very obvious bugs fixed. (which should have been done before 1.0)

Writing a review because people are completely mental. Yes, it has issues. Yes, it's also fun. When I played Zomboid years ago, which at that point had more development time than HumanitZ, it was buggier than this. If you like Zomboid, but you wish it was a little less finicky, with a more action oriented style and more realistic graphics, this is for you. P.S. The first time raiders visited my base and I had to run out the door with a shotgun and in my underwear, that was awesome.

I have qualms with moving the crosshair, but I understand Why it is that way. I would only desire 1 main thing... a choice to angle the camera at 10-15...I also understand that comes with other issues, like going full TPS. The game is really fun. I am having a great time with it. One suggestion: I am a Gen X survivor from Michigan. When I was a kid the electricity was often out because of storms or my mom not paying the bill. We had a well with an electric pump, not water from a city. No electricity meant no water too. HumanitZ is the video game equivalent of being given a to-do list while your house is on fire. A very, very detailed to-do list. The goal is simple: don't die. The execution is you, from a god's-eye view, desperately trying to remember if you left a can of beans in that one house while six zombies politely shuffle towards you to eat your face. So where to start. Humanitz has potential but it has serious problems which are stopping it in it's tracks. The biggest issues I have with the game in it's current state are these; - It's more of a sandbox game with seemingly added quests, but does not really have a story or player campaign. Although this is personal preference, having one thing in a game doesn't necesarily exlude the other. This is a very addicting game. It's good for about 100 hours, beyond that there is still a lot of playtime and things to be discovered if you want to push past that. For the price I paid, it was well worth the value. Once you get the hang of the game, if you're feeling unchallenged I would recommend trying Nightmare mode. I am a big fan of DayZ. There are some things that can't be done within DayZ because of engine limitations, development issues, etc that ARE in this game that…

This game deserves so much better than "mostly positive". If you are a fan of the zombie survival genre and would enjoy a more realistic looking/3D Project Zomboid, that is a little more forgiving, this game might be for you. (Granted, if you like unforgiving, you can definitely make it so with settings) Some say the camera is horrible, but I rarely have any problems with it. Yes viewing distance is limited, but that seems intentional/realistic. And you can actually extend it by standing on…

Save after hours of gameplay was lost. I was on the latest public version and also loaded version 1.02 (latest version I could set manually) to see if the save would load up on that but it would not load up where I left off and loaded a fresh spawn. No mods were used. I created a ticket on discords in hopes that get this save back as I love the game but Devs concluded that there was nothing that could be done and closed the ticket. It is a shame as I really liked the game but this was the…

HumanitZ 1.0: A solid concept that still feels like Early Access The concept of HumanitZ is fine, and while the controls take some getting used to, the game has a lot of potential for anyone looking for a 3D alternative to Project Zomboid. However, calling this version "1.0" feels premature as there are still many elements that make the game feel unfinished and unpolished. The most glaring issue is the lack of interaction with the existing world; for example, you cannot sleep in beds found…

Game says it's 1.0 but does not feel feature complete nor play well at all. Feels like a web browser game that was meant to be played in school during class is the best way to describe how janky and unpolished it feels. Do not recommend.

Excellent survival game with great graphics. Details like footsteps in the snow and (snow)storms make it very immersive. You can befriend and use animals like dogs and, in true Rick Grimes style, a horse. Cars must first be repaired before you can drive them and you can armour them too. Scavenging is great to do and the Zombies (or Zeeks as they are called ingame) can be very dangerous, especially in hordes. They are realistically distracted by corpses or if your horse should be too close.…

It finally annoyed me enough. There are some good things about this game, there are some not good things about this game and then there are some really....really annoying things about this game. The fact that the moment you have a base with more then 2 boxes and there's no 'swap over and stack like items button' makes emptying your car a 20minute tedious task. Couple that with the fact if I want to harvest seeds from something I planted I have to sit here and physically eat these potatoes one…

Tried and refunded it in early acess about a year ago thought I'd give it a go again, same issue as last time. Horrible controls, can't even pretend to get invested when my character controls like a tank game from N64. Should have gone with either full third-person or full isometric, this odd mix feels super awkward. Can't say much about the rest of the game but maybe I'll comeback and force myself to accept the controls once they add recruitable NPC's to the game.

My wife, our friend and myself all bought this game. I've only put in 14.5 hours but I've really been enjoying this game. It does have it's issues but that's to be expected of an early access game. First I'd like to talk about the pros. Pros: - I enjoy how the zombies feel like actual zombies. Going for the head makes a difference, you have to deal with them crawling should their legs "break" and the are also different types of zombies which keeps things fresh. - I've just had an in-game day…

My partner and I discovered HZ a couple of weeks ago after a brief stint with PZ. While PZ certainly offers deeper mechanics, I found the lack of graphical fidelity made it harder for me to stay immersed. HZ, on the other hand, captures many of the core mechanics that make PZ great but pairs them with visuals that truly bring the experience to life. I’m really glad we picked it up during Early Access, especially with Version 1.0 set to launch before the end of the year. The HZ Discord is…

A friend told me to get this game and going in I didn't really have any expectations. I ended up being instantly hooked and I can't stop playing! I tried Zomboid years ago and didn't care for it but I absolutely love this game. It's a lot less tedious but still has a lot of depth to it and can be quite challenging even just in PVE. I would absolutely recommend anyone to give it a try.
