I really liked this game for the first two houses. Now the pop up "help tips" have made this game UNPLAYABLE. YOU DON'T HAVE TO TELL ME WHAT TO DO 700 TIMES! I GIVE UP! I CAN'T SHAVE THE F****** TREES IF YOU WON'T STOP TELLING ME HOW TO SHAVE THE F****** TREES! Edit: Okay, I'm dumb and didn't realize I was bumping the info bubble. I also didn't realize that's how that worked! Back to LOVING this game! (face in hand emoji here)

When selecting a map, the game keeps opening a link which opens your browser and directs you to their new game... Really a scummy move... I understand you want to promote your new game, but let me play this one in peace....

towards the end of the 3rd house the game gives up on ACTUALLY teaching you building techniques or how to build a house. You stop fashioning parts and all you do is click on something. Like it didnt teach me how to make a door or a window or how to attach them, I just held down the mouse while the game did it for me. I didnt get to use screw drivers, chisels or hammers or anything. I feel like the developers had adhd and got tired of coding the right way to do things. The rest of the game is…

Game has a ton of bugs. Normally I'd dismiss these as "quirky" but it gets extremely annoying when you bump into a nearby table for the 200th time on the log cabin level and it STILL makes a pop-up showing the tutorial. Look at the table sideways? Pops up the tutorial. Not paying attention when moving logs around and you brush it with your hip? Pops up the tutorial. Every. Single. Time. THAT annoyance coupled with things not working right (accidentally picking up a ladder you're trying to…

It's pretty... mediocre, bad even, play the demo, that's exactly what you will be doing, gathering materials in a very restrictive local zone, and point and click to put them in place, it has something similar to a skill tree that makes it seem like there might be more to it, but it's actually completely linear upgrades that you get that make the game faster. It MIGHT have some minimal educational value, if you are interesting in construction, it might give you an extremely basic idea of how…

As some other reviews are stating (or sometimes comparing), no, House Builder is definitely not like House Flipper, but in my opinion that’s actually not a bad thing. Just the opposite, I actually especially like the gameplay of “do this first, then do that etc”. It’s straightforward, but in a certain way rewarding, seeing the many different types of houses slowly grow (and there are really loads of them, ranging from igloo, tree house, huts, ancient buildings to modern variations or even one…

Honestly for a game that asks 20 bucks and locks a lot of content behind DLC I'd expect more. But then I remember this is a playway game. As much as I love games like this, and I do enjoy stuff like this. I can't endorse it. It's clunky, unstable, keeps crashing. I have to reset levels because things fly out of bounds (container house level) and there is no option to get core items like that reset. I decided to look if there was an option to get core items the game wants you to use back by…

To start off, I do enjoy this game well enough. HOWEVER, I would not recommend others to buy this game. I'll explain: It's a decent way to pass the time, and allows me to think of personal story ideas while I play it. But it is VERY janky and filled with bugs. I'll elaborate more with a list of pros and cons: Pros: ----- • Decent way to pass the time • Has simple enough controls • Blueprints give a good bit of leeway when arranging materials • The skill upgrades are something nice to help…

I can't give any review on the gameplay or content since I have no idea what it includes and can't actually load the game to see it. I make it to 89% before the game freezes and crashes. The devs have known about this for years and haven't actually done anything to fix the issue (aside from having you email them) judging on their pinned discussion posts. There's also a laundry list of other bugs and issues players seem to have based on the discussions, but instead of fixing them the devs have…

Game play is fine, but what is with the 600% volume on the concrete mixer? There is no real point to the game. You build a house, sell the house then you can buy the lot for the original price and build a house again. Seriously though that concrete mixer is so loud that it made me quit the game.

There are some relatively minor bugs and sometimes the building process doesn't make a lot of sense (e.g. clipping parts, floating stuff, etc.). But the houses look really beatiful.

edit: i just learned that theyre working on house builder 2 (edit: i accidentally typed flipper instead of builder). do not buy it when it comes out, their first game barely even works. original review: for a game as deeply busted as this one is, it's an alright time for its current sale price of 10 dollars if you want a couple hours of brain-off, and especially if you don't feel like being creative. i feel like it should be even cheaper, but as a major depressive, this was what i needed…

Its an ok game. If you just wanna waste some time, its very fun to play, but dont expect a high quality house building simulator. Altho you do learn some stuff about how different houses are build. If u expect detail like in, as example, house flipper you will be dissapointed, but if u like games like powerwash simulator or games with that vibe then this is enough. Personally i brought this game while it was in sale, and having played it now i wouldnt buy it on full price

The detailed, satisfying house-building and bizarrely specific skill tree gave me some genuinely enjoyable moments. However, getting to them meant fighting the game’s bugs, bad performance, clunky movement, forced progression, and especially its broken control scheme. I still had fun for quite a few hours, but I can’t recommend it in its current state. +++ The house building aspect is actually pretty detailed. In both a good and bad way. I feel bad saying I can't recommend so early into the game play, but I wasn't even able to finish the tutorial house, the mud house. First off, the standard key bindings are unintuitive. But that can be changed. Fine. There is at one point when building the frame of the house that it tells you to cut down small palm trees for palm logs. The physics on these trees are absolutely bizarre. While they stay still when chopping them down, it is once you try to cut the felled tree into logs…

underwhelming. 17 hours don't seem long, but I have built several houses in game including the very problematic European masonry house. Instruction, help, and documentation are ambiguous and sometimes hard to follow or understand; game items names aren't consistent leading to confusion, and just lots of clicking with close to no freedom in creation. Not to mention the pop-up help thingy that really gets in the way, or the weird bugs espc if you change keybinds. After a while it gets very…

A very fun sim game about building houses. I played it on PSN a few years back and remember feeling like the game ended WAY to soon but I'm happy to say that they have added tons of levels-not even counting the DLCs. Its a little janky as most sims are but that just adds to the charm of games like these. If you ever wanted to FLING boards at a wall and watch it somehow create a house or make mud bricks to build a house this is the one

House Builder is a very straightforward cozy game- it has less mechanics than house flipper but definitely has its own charms. The achievements are very straightforward and easy to obtain (thanks to Clarise007 for their guide on the hidden collectables). As an added bonus, they do not require any DLC purchase whatsoever. The gameplay can feel a tad repetitive and I think some levels drag on a bit longer than they should, but at the same time its intended to be more of a relaxing sim than a…

Developed by FreeMind S.A. and published by PlayWay S.A. alongside FreeMind S.A., the game places you in the role of a lone builder traveling across the world and through different eras, tasked with constructing a wide variety of buildings using region-specific techniques and materials. However you can buy items in the shop so if you lose something you can get a new one. If you like power wash simulator or anything similar to that you will like this too. No cloud saves for a game like this, are you serious? This hurts all players, as every player will lose their save file. We shouldnt need a manual backup of the files ourselves to not lose progress.... this is bonkers. Months after I last played I returned and all the levels I'd done were undone. This game is going into my Library's BROKEN folder.

This is a very enjoyable game, but not all DLCs are worth buying, to be honest. Just be happy with the base game, then maybe buy a couple of the DLCs that actually look enjoyable. Again, the base game is very enjoyable and DLCs aren't necessary. Every time I think I should boot the game up and do the houses I haven't done yet, I don't because I don't want to deal with all the bugs.
