unlabelledView post →Anton Yelchin is such a fucking STAR in HEARTS IN ATLANTIS, his very first film. That’s never gonna not be sad. #filmsky
unlabelledView post →My year of Book Covers Stephen King's Hearts in Atlantis Ted Brautigan's story. Much like Father Callahan's story. All things serve the Beam. *The movie should've been called Low Men in Yellow Coats, being that it's the title of the story adapted.

unlabelledView post →I feel like the main reason that THINNER is dismissed as minor King has to do with the quality of the movie, not the quality of the book. Same goes for NEEDFUL THINGS and HEARTS IN ATLANTIS. Both are easily two of Stephen King's better novels, but they get overlooked because the films were "eh".
unlabelledView post →If the movie is IT-level quality I’m happy, if it’s Hearts In Atlantis-level, I’m disgusted
unlabelledView post →If you've seen the movie Hearts in Atlantis, it's Anthony Hopkins's house in that movie (the blue one with the big front porch). I need to sell a lot more books so I can afford homes that match my taste -- not mansions, but old and well-maintained.

Through Patreon support TODAY, you can get our latest offering, on 2001's incredibly uneven Hearts in Atlantis film adaptation: www.patreon.com/posts/just-k...
unlabelledView post →Film #342: Hearts in Atlantis It's okay. It's mainly 60's nostalgia schmaltz with Anthony Hopkins doing the barest "Mystical old man" role. It never feels like the film has any stakes outside of, "Your youth will one day be behind you." #2026Films
unlabelledView post →Yes, you do! Did you relish every page of Night Shift? One of the best collections of stories! I'm almost done the Hearts In Atlantis book & I'm going to watch the Anthony Hopkins movie based on one of those stories, next. Remember to try the Library if you can't find much at the 2nd hand store.
unlabelledView post →There is discussion about replacing Ted in the Dark Tower with Dick as the facilitator and Abra being the powerful telepath, Ted is owned by whichever movie house made Hearts in Atlantis apparently, but I love Dick so much I don't mind
unlabelledView post →I am immune to that movie, so thanks for being sentimental on my behalf. Meanwhile, I bawled the other day while watching “Hearts In Atlantis”.
unlabelledView post →I had heard 11 22 63 was good, but I didn't expect it to be as emotional as it was. And Hearts in Atlantis really came out of nowhere, as the film adaptation looked pretty bad. And I can definitely see that about Vietnam.
unlabelledView post →Yes, Hearts in Atlantis is really good. Apparently the film is a total mistake, adapting a different story from the same collection. I've read a couple of Koontz novels and they seem primarily to be wank
unlabelledView post →The movie, Hearts in Atlantis was also based on Stephen King’s writing, and was beautiful. I haven’t seen the movie currently being discussed yet, but I saw that many years ago and was stunned by its beauty and that it had been written by Stephen.

unlabelledView post →At his best, he can absolutely ruin you with how good his writing is. I read Hearts In Atlantis as we were invading Iraq, and the story (oddly not the one the film with that title was based on) set me on fire & burned me down. Forever informed how I look at peace & war, death & guilt & privilege.
unlabelledView post →Yes! Especially in Hearts in Atlantis. One of my favorite book to movie adaptations . I felt like he should have been Nick in Nick and Norah.
unlabelledView post →I gotta rant about what a weird adaptation Hearts In Atlantis (2001) was. Based on the book by Stephen King, which was an anthology tied together by core characters. The movie only covers one story , plus a sliver of epilogue. It did a great job of those parts but without having read this book &
unlabelledView post →I am waiting for someone to film the actual "Hearts In Atlantis" from that book, because the movie is actually adapted from "Low Men in Yellow Coats", the opening story in *that* book.

unlabelledView post →I’m currently on The Talisman, like a quarter way I’ve read The Shining, Carrie, Holly, Salem’s lot, Pet Sematary, Skeleton Crew, Misery, Gerald’s Game, The Regulators, Hearts in Atlantis, Cell (hate the movie but the book is so good!!), Under the Dome What about you? I’m so excited
unlabelledView post →Hearts In Atlantis. I’ve watched more movie adaptations of his books than read them.
unlabelledView post →Definitely Stephen King's Hearts in Atlantis. The movie was less than half the book, but the book was really two books plus a short story, so...
unlabelledView post →The (movie) Hearts in Atlantis (Prime)(UK) £4.99 (Drama) (iMDB) 6.6 Cast: Anthony Hopkins, Anton Yelchin, Hope Davis, Mika Boorem, David Morse, Alan Tudyk
unlabelledView post →Remember that Stphen King movie "Hearts in Atlantis" remember how they used the lost dog posters to hunt the people they were looking for. That Ring commercial reminded me of that movie. It had a very creepy dystopian vibe.
unlabelledView post →After that, I lived in Virginia Beach, VA, from summer 1982 to fall 1984. Less has been filmed in Virginia Beach (mainly TV), though apparently one film partly shot there was HEARTS IN ATLANTIS.
unlabelledView post →Oh yeah the bit was watching an hour of Stephen King movie trailers. From Carrie all the way to Hearts in Atlantis we watched every trailer for every movie released before Dreamcatcher. It was actually hella fun to see them all back to back and how movies changed and trailers changed over time.

unlabelledView post →By the time I graduated high school, I'd read through King's entire(at the time) fictional bibliography*, so while I was already sold, I'm even more "sold-er" now. LOL *I'm dating myself by saying the current book at the time was 1999's Hearts In Atlantis(great story, movie was bleh).
unlabelledView post →Time for a movie....Hearts in Atlantis....Based on a Stephen King novel...stars Anthony Hopkins and the late actor. Anton Yelchin, which was his debut film, the music soundtrack is amazing too, anywho, got some red wine and some munchies....time to chill from chillin'...lol😂
unlabelledView post →The first time I saw The Green Mile in the theater I cried from the moment John Coffey appeared on-screen pretty much through the rest of THREE HOUR film. I don't know that this'll be that bad, but we might reach Hearts In Atlantis levels.
unlabelledView post →I just watched the film "Hearts in Atlantis" and loved it so much I plan to watch it again. Thank you for writing such a wonderful and interesting story. Never predictable, always worthwhile waiting to see what comes next. You continue to surprise me in the best way.
unlabelledView post →There are a few extremely tedious ones in there… but there’s also some great ones that I still think about! I loved “Project Hail Mary,” “Hearts in Atlantis,” and “Horror Movie” the most. I might need to reread PHM, that was the one I read the fastest because I couldn’t put it down.
unlabelledView post →The 'Hearts in Atlantis' movie poster but it says Hearts of Romaine and Anthony Hopkins is holding a bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch
unlabelledView post →Tired: @ replies remembering movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit Wired: me in your @ replies remembering novel Hearts in Atlantis
unlabelledView post →Hearts in Atlantis (2001) Adaption: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Movie:⭐️⭐️⭐️ Necessity has them jettisoning the Dark Tower stuff of the story and what’s left is a bland, colorless adaptation. Sure the main plot points are there & it’s nicely shot but it’s missing the quirkyness as well as the heart.
unlabelledView post →This is certainly a case of less is more from Sir Anthony Hopkins. His considered performance as "Ted" lends much to this otherwise rather simple story of a widow (Hope Davis) and her young son "Bobby" (Anton Yeltsin). He befriends the young boy - much to the suspicion of the rather selfish, but loving, mother - and soon they are sharing confidences and the odd secret power as their bond gradually cements. It looks at the story from the older man's perspective as he reminisces about his own…
