negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Play Online" is false. Most (if all) games are done by bots. And for further proof, game continued when I cut the Internet.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't buy for online PvP. Even after clicking online it's bots. Only buy if you have friends to play with. Does work online with friends tho. But not with random people.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some of the AI will somehow know exactly how your ship is positioned even when you're playing on Medium difficulty. Like it as a quick little distracting game, but there's no way to earn new characters or playing fields in game, you just have to pay money. No free woman character either. It's not the end of the world, but I'm not happy with character upgrades being $3 and new boards starting at $2.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the online ai knows where your battleships are and decides when to "hit" them. don't buy this heap of garbage, worst 12$ i ever spent.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You sunk my battleship.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its a bit hit and miss.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I expected the board game. I got explosions. Hasbro’s BATTLESHIP takes a very calm tabletop game and turns it into a loud action movie. Instead of politely saying “you sunk my battleship,” you’re calling in airstrikes and blowing holes in the ocean. The strategy is light, the missions are straightforward, and most of the fun comes from watching ships explode in increasingly dramatic ways. It’s not deep, but it knows exactly what it is. If you want a simple, mindless action game with a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Why did I buy and play Battleships? There are four reasons: a mate tempted me to, I have guilty pleasures from PC versions of family board games, It was a dollar-fiddy (plus the same again for the DLC) and 'cos I like like writing funny reviews of board games conversions in some sort of interview format. Today we shall use Jeopardy. Q: An idiotic, insensible purchase when you are rocking a 4080GTX and RAM up the Swanee? A: What is Battleships? YES correct answer and you stay in control.Next…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's enjoyable with a small level of critical thinking skill being useful and the length of a game is great for a quick break of ten minutes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easy to play. Good quick game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short review of 'full' game + DLC, purchased on sale for ~$4 (USD): I expected a bare-bones, yet functional & cute, reproduction of the board game. That is definitely here as "classic mode". Well done. But there's a whole new mode called "Commanders" that adds special abilities (bombs, etc), differently shaped ships (tetrominos, etc). It turns it into a more exciting game. Almost a combination of Battleship, Minesweeper, and... well something original, I suppose. I'm very surprised by the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the best games ever created. I'm only 1 year older than when the original board game was developed by Hasbro back in the day! It never gets old, and even most of the new computer games today just can't recreate the fun this game never ceases to provides. Nice job, Hasbro!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great fun! I love this game a lot. It has plain ol' Battleship, but what really makes the game is the commander mode -- you can select a commander and use their special abilities to strategically uncover tiles with earned points (and sometimes even leave some tiles strategically covered until later on -- getting a hit gives your opponent points to spend on skills, themselves). Each commander also has differently shaped ships. I also love that you are pretty much guaranteed to find a match…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I dont know if I'm playing online vs bots or not, but one thing this game should do is have timers for moves. I was playing against what I assumed to be a human, and after a round or two they just stopped playing. I was stuck on Enemy's turn for 20 minutes before I forfeited. Online play should have turn timers! So either this guy had super patience and was waiting for me to forfeit, or the bot got bugged and forgot it was their turn. Single player vs AI had no problems, even if the bots…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hard AI is cheating so only playing online makes sense.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good? Oh yeah. Worth $13? Nope. The $2 I paid feels pretty alright. I'd say $4.99, $9.99 AT MOST
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It took me just under 40 hours to get all the achievements. I can imagine if anyone wanted to speedrun all the achievements, under 30 hours is very possible. Alot of patience is needed. The strategy for this game is very simple: hunt and target opponents battleships before he finds yours.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty much a dead game. Opponent leaves as soon as matchmaking ends. The online mode is completely broken. Don't buy if you don't have friends to play with.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is Battleship. I really don't have more to say about the gameplay. It has a new mode, Commander mode, where you play with a character who has unique traits. The issue is, the Commander mode is limited to three characters, the rest are locked behind a paywall. It sort of feels like that part is just a demo for a DLC as a result.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →you can only play 3 people if you want more it cost more
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i mean this game is worth every penny when its on sale
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think it would be more fun if it had classic mode with just rectangular ships. But as is also good if you have all dlcs
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →KAMGUSTA's MINI REVIEW It's Battleship, based on the very famous board game. The original involves little skill: you just pick a space, the other player checks if he has a ship on it, and if so, he marks it and tell you. The first to guess all the spaces where there is a ship, wins. Game includes the "classic" version plus a "modern" one, with various skills you can use to help hit the ships, differently shaped ships and a new game board. The graphics are nice and easy to read. Everything is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's battleship. My friend and I will often play 3 matches and the winner of 2 picks what other game we play. Very much filler fun, simple and pleasing. The commander mode is pretty cool and new compared to traditional battleship rules/set-up.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought it on a sale to play with my GF when we just want something really relaxed. It has two modes; Classic and Commander. Classic is what you expect from the board game. Commander gives you some abilities (bombs, mines. airstrikes etc) and odd shaped maps. It's well enough made for a simple game like this. I have no complaints. Multiplayer works fine but you can't join via friend list, need to invite via the ingame menu. Full price is perhaps a bit steep I'd say (12 euro). Get it on a sale…

unlabelledView post →If you grew up with the classic Battleship game as a kid, stirring early trust issues between siblings or friends, then you'll love the Hasbro's BATTLESHIP video game. No trust issues included, loads of fun, and new game mechanics that actually would be fun in the physical game had them in it. This is for sure a fun game playing solo but with friends or online matches are where it's at. Also, as a positive caveat: I had a weird achievement glitch, in which I reached out to the support team and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty sure this is better than World of Warships.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →my ♥♥♥♥♥ boats keep getting bombed
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For some reason this game can't seem to get internet connection so do not recommend
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's always nice when developers make tabletop games into video games. So, when I saw this childhood classic on Steam, I did the appropriate thing and added it to my wishlist to cook. It went on sale, and I gifted my brother a copy since he's sometimes out of town because of college. We had a blast, and I encouraged my friends to play, but apparently paying $5 for a battleship game is too much compared to the 3 $100 games they buy every year (not including microtransactions). The online…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Classic rules are not here. The new mechanic to this game is once you hit you opponents ship or opponent hit yours, you can continue to fire until you miss. This allows the player to obliterate the opponent before they can sink yours. Makes winning impossible or super easy depending on which side your on. no incentive to play after 10 or so games of this BS.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Would be decent if not for the pay-to-win DLC. Just another example of greedy, idiot devs that care more about profit than game balance.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Meh. Expensive for what it is. There's better options out there.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The great old game which we played on our notebooks during boring classes
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Play with a friend will not work at all. Not worth wasting your time
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Certainly not just a house rule, I've met it everywhere. And, as it seems from further down the thread, it seems to be the difference because large parts of the world rely on Hasbro's Battleship as the rule source, while the other seems to play by older rules (by the time Hasbro/Milton Bradley released the game, it was already almost a century old). Others from Spain and Germany also seem to know that rule, but it was not in the official *Hasbro* version of the game. This is what appears to…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They ain't skinking my battleship, no sir! *cue in Thunderstruck AC/DC
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful, slick and polished rendition of the classic Battleship board game we all grew up with. Game works flawlessly on windows but on PopOS 24.04 I am unable to play online. Would love to see that fixed or to find a workaround.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is the worst. Playing on medium difficulty against the computer and you either get A: laughably bad shots where you feel sorry for it or B: the computer is seeing through the oracle and gets every shot it takes. 3/10 - terrible game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted Battleship for $3 and that's what I got. No complaints. It's the classic guessing/basic critical thinking game, and a modern version that adds special abilities. It's a fun diversion and worth it on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More fun than the board game IMO
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Hasbro's Battleship" is a fun and easy-to-play classic. The games are fast, strategic, and suitable for all ages, perfect for challenges with family or friends.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good pastime to take your mind off things.... ;)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring even for Battleship, there are better game of this genre, even on Steam. Cannot recommend. No wistles, no points of interest, I expected something better & deeper.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly? One of my favorite games to play. The commanders are a fun twist on the classic, and the CPUs have some good variety of difficulty when playing single player. Online is smooth without any issues, too. Cannot get enough of this game, and I find myself working on earning the achievements. I wish there were more DLCs for it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →alot of $ left on the table with this one. its good but could of been great.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →8. Hasbro's Battleship this was game night for a friend's birthday and it was surprisingly a blast. the commander skills are a neat twist that speeds up play in an interesting way. it's like $2 right now and is honestly worth checking out
