In addition to welcome yet ultimately expected things like temples and aqueducts we have 4 population classes with their own needs and quirks - patricians, equites, plebes and, notably, slaves - with the latter being more of a commodity. We have two campaigns that let us meet notable figures of Roman history and work for them…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →City and real estate developers should play this game to understand you need to feed people and make them happy before you just start building a bunch of things nobody wants
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Subjectively speaking: I play this game because I played it when I was a kid. I powered through the elaborate ways of city builders and I got to learn how it works through sheer arrogance and persistence. I enjoy it, but it isn't the best thing out there. Objectively speaking: A city builder with a combat system that is there because romans aren't romans without the military part I guess? The main focus of the game is how the demographics affects the state of the city you're creating out of a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kinda basic but not a bad little city builder sim. Has a campaign mode and a bit of light combat.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The serial keys stopped working for me and many other people as far back as May 2021, effectively locking us out of the game. It looks like they took their serial key validation server offline. Scumbag practices by Kalypso Media!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a bad game, until you've experienced the random burning down of your outpost... which is the reason I give it a thumbs down. In this game, you are given an outpost from which you start building everything. I spent hours building everything from citizen housing, to entertainment, goods and even a forum. Everyone was happy. My approval rating was outstanding. I was making money and gearing up to attack the enemy. The by random chance, my outpost starts on fire. I've played a lot of Rome…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not versatile as Stronghold, not detailed as Anno, definitely not fun as Tropico, feels inferior to Pharaoh. The devs managed to mix so many things together but all of them feels half-baked at best. Overall the game is mediocre and not worth your time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All Rome nerds need to play it. Great experience!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The fact that an 11 year old game supports 3440x1440 at 120hz without any issues at all, while maintaining the UI in its place is worthy of a positive review on its own.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the whole idea of game focuses on constructing a town with fairly enough contents and don't forget pass through tutorial first, it's quite easy to be learnt (takes just 30 minutes). by the way, military unites are deployed just for clearing trade routes from local residents ( mainly barbarians) therefore don't expect a large scale battle. the only glitch that evidently has been spotted by many players , the game crashes after a few minutes when your city gets too vast (at a point where a few…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the setting, models and idea of the game but it's incredibly clunky, the UI is dated, and the game doesn't give you much in the way of reasoning for things going wrong. It's one of those games that becomes tedious if you overlook one tiny detail, which would be fine if it allowed you to go your own way, experiment and find ways to overcome the challenge but it doesn't.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do you love the Roman empire? Do you love building cities and manage them but on a simple level? Do you love to bring the glory and might of Rome on those filthy barbarians every morning? Then why are you still reading this? GO PLAY GRAND AGE ROME ! Highly recommended!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incredibly beautiful and underrated game. I'm really impressed with the graphics. They hold up even today. You can make very aesthetic cities through thought provoking strategical gameplay. Great soundtrack.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to like this game since I like Rome 2 but the building in the game was boring for me.The small radius of buildings was a big thumbs down. I love the concept I just would remove the radius thing or make it way larger at least. I would love to see a new upgraded version of this game though.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just... one... more... building. <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is not working with Windows 11, neither in compatibility modes. Downloaded the missing DLL files (which i will never use for anything i suppose), tried everything for an hour now. This is shouldn't be sold here anymore.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For an almost fifteen year old game, I think it holds up remarkably well. The level of detail on buildings and people is pretty impressive and holds up well when zoomed in. The progression tree works well and feels worthwhile. My only complaint really, apart from one weird crash when commanding a siege unit to attack, is the the military side of things feels a bit shallow, mainly due to limited control of units apart from attack commands and one unique skill for each unit type. That said this…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Seems to work fine on modern systems (Windows 11) and even supports ultra-wide (3440x1440). Multiplayer servers are down however, so you can't create an account to play even LAN or DirectIP. Great game a decade ago, would love a sequel.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Maybe time for a new release: Grand Ages - Ancient Greece.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome in 2021. Running it on Windows 10 using Aorus RTX 3090 Xtreme had some random lag because fps drops. Issues with fps dropping can be resolved by finding Rome.exe and setting compatibility mode to Windows XP (Service Pack 3)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rudimentary and basic economy/RTS game. I only tried the free mode (as that's the only way I play economy games), and it is extremely easy, you build a city without much hassle in no time. I can't recommend it to anyone, even those who wouldn't mind an average builder - this one is just very bad.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's very similar to the ANNO saga, but with better ideas. - Building cities and its resource chains, which without proper supervision can lead to the collapse of all your cities. - The ability to have multiple cities and specialize them in capturing one or more resources. - The battles and city destruction are nice additions, but not its strong suit. - The campaigns are very entertaining and follow the history of Rome. I recommend it and hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Underwhelming, could have been the best but falls short. The new Anno Pax Romana looks promising. If you need a rome themed city builder check out Caesar 3 with Augustus mod
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's a good city builder for ancient Rome, the best that I have played so far. Game however crashes if the city gets too big
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Caught between being a City Builder and an RTS, but carves out an adequate middle ground for itself A charming experience that I thoroughly enjoy
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dodgy controls and zoom problems. This is not a Caesar game tho they try to be! The Caesar game is much better laid out with much better pan and zoom control.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game for people who enjoy building with challenges. Some may find the balance of entertainment/religion/food requirements a little trying, but it is what makes each location interesting and more unusual. I enjoy making my people happy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Whilst the graphics may have dated somewhat, if the game play is there and the genre is liked, then in a game like this graphics can (and should be) overlooked!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →How do you make a city builder 3 years after Caesar IV and NOT have the option to build while zoomed out? How do you make a city builder in general that doesn't have good camera options? Not recommended for clunky controls, worse visuals than Caesar IV, and the inability to zoom out. Impossible to see city layout as I'm building. Not fun at all, and not worth $10. Go play Caesar IV instead if you're looking for a relaxing city building experience.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my first Games, one of my best Games
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Who doesn't love a good Roman City Builder
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I absolutely love this game, still one of the best Roman themed city builders available on the market to this day!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A classic city builder I can just enjoy when I want to relax and craft a city.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Grand Ages: Rome is a city builder with RTS-elements. You have to provide your population with food, religion and entertainment. Scarcity will increase crime rate, lead to upsprings and your population will leave your city or start burning down your buildings. If your city is well managed, you can build up your military and invade other settlements or defend your own city from them. It´s very good, was fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked it, it was cool, if you like city builders, its good. Steam is WOKE, don't support Steam, their monopoly on video games hurts you the consumer...................... Buy from other keysellers..................................
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Challeging at times and fun to play. A lil bit like caesar III which I miss updated versions on VERY much.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →City building without the stress, just enough challenge to be fun without frustration!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game dynamics in Imperium Romanum / Glory of the Roman Empire series are completely different. I could not understand why the materials cannot be stocked... Building ranges are also decreased... Every good thing is excluded in this version. Good to add researching, but production-consumption balance is very bad. You will need 20-30 woodcutters until you build something good, ridiculous.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a game where you will consider every strategic aspect of maintaining a city while trying to dominate the terrain.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You know, this is a pretty solid Rome-based city builder. Graphically decent for a game of its age, and with some solid city building elements. I would say this game is worth it in the under 20 dollar range, and for those who enjoyed the caesar line of games. I enjoyed this Caesar 3 type game for around 16 hours before finding the missions tedious. Word of warning, the way commodities are measured is based on the balance of goods. I.e, goods do not accumulate based on time. This is somewhat…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game for players that enjoy planning and building cities. Challenging game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →best 3rd person game better than eltropico
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a great city management/RTS game. Lots of stages, different ways to play it, and different achievements. Only downsides I have found is that the saved games are saved locally and not to Steam, and some of the multiplayer maps are bugged. Other than that this game is phenomenal. For a game from 2009 this is still worth playing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like strategic city builders with some fighting based in the Roman times then this game is great for you. It is similar to the Caesar series in that regard. The resource management isn't about stocking things in a warehouse or granary but a free flow of what you have. Having the different skill trees is a very good idea and it allows to the player to receive bonus's for their play style. The last thing I like about the game is the graphics are nice without being over bearing on the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am not a fan of this I think that CIV CITY Rome is much much better.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was originally going to be Imperium Romanum 2 but, it became this from what I have read. This is basically a simplified version of the original with much faster game play. I can't even say the graphics are better. Basically Imperium Romanum for people with short attention spans. Some ok UI improvements but, that's about it. The graphics are pretty much the same too. Buildings build and resources are gathered pretty much instantly. No resources are actually moved or carried. Stuff is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very complex game with many variables and possibilities but is very rewarding and enjoyable. You pick your family, the estates you own, and these alone can change many things. All your building materials like stone and bricks can be bought or provided by your estates. In the end, it's all up to you and your playing style. Like buying and selling? Then join the trade-based family. Your decisions define so much in this game and will continue to define your playing experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played this as hardcopy in my childhood, now decided to get it on steam imo a very underrated RTS game combining Total war aspects with great city building would recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I recommend this game for the price, but it does have its drawbacks. Grand Ages Rome is a city building, resource management, and real-time strategy hybrid. It does the first two things very well and can provide hours of entertainment in building a city and managing an economy. The warfare in this game is subpar, however. The variety of units is nice, but the path finding, controls, and camera are all really bad, making warfare a frustrating experience that feels more like a chore than anything…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game system wants serial number but i can't get the serial number ,,how can i get it can any one say me please ?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Majestic streets, bustling markets, each day feels like a festival of ancient jokes. Bright graphics, a plot that keeps me on edge until I can’t stop laughing!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I mean, it's not a new game, but it will play on anything, the graphics still hold up, at least for the buildings, and it's still fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played this when I was 12 it was goated. played it 10 years later, its still goated. the music is so good you can goon to it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Big time good time. no negatives and all positives. be the chad roman you desire to be, deus vult
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun city-builder. Military leaves a bit to be desired, but there are a lot of other titles that cover that base.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →THIS GAME IS LIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While the battle interface is clunky and you can't really use formations, it's a nice building sim that reminds me of CivCity Rome. At this distance, I can't remember which was first... All-in-all, a fine way to waste some hours.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game become unplayable on my system giving strange errors when launching. Was a bit buggy\glitchy back when I bought it so RIP.
