39 of 39 · most liked firstOk so i love Slay the Spire but I love Golden Swirl more. The game is tough because its something completely new. The pacing is amazing and the pause feature is awesome. You can save in between dungeons which is huge in this genre imo. You have a base where you can upgrade a skill tree and also swap out weapons and armor that you have unlocked. Also the characters and art are sick. Its great at least try the demo.

The game is also really good btw.

Had a very satisfying first run coming from the demo and can already anticipate I'll do plenty more given there's other endings and characters, besides unlockables. No technical issues or bugs so far. If it bears mention at all, insane production values for this kind of game too. Easily rivals Oblivion Override and Lords of Ravage when it comes to presentation. Only kept 1 movement card then got all the fancy items. Then the rest of the game is just...linear/plain/ and no surprises.

You work your way through dungeons one room at a time. in between each room you have the opportunity to take part in different events, as well as choose your next room. Combat is in real-time, but you can pause to give yourself some breathing room and strategize. You can only move and act with cards that you draw during battle (Think Slay The Spire). The majority of the voice acting is very well done.

But once you get used to the gameplay, it runs smoothly and start to explore many combo. And it run surprisingly well in Steam Deck/Controller. In steam deck the text is small but still readable. As a new publisher and designer, there is not much you can ask for you. Definitely worth for Rougelike Deck builder lover!
