When in handheld 800p is the highest resolution listed but looks much lower. Much text is illegible on screen. They need to turn off auto detect screen resolution of the game and allow us to force 4k and let the deck subsample it down. If you play on a docked 4k - then unplug the deck- the game continues to play SHARP and full resolution for the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dear Microsoft, Please port over Geometry Wars 2 to PC so I can stop playing the FREE version on an emulator or better yet make Geometry Wars 4. Thank you for your attention
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The real reason Microsoft has struggled so much after they acquired Activision is their angering of the gaming gods by not immediately putting a developer onto bringing back Geometry Wars.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A frantic and fun romp through various levels of psychedelic enemies and designs. I had a lot of fun with this game and highly recommend it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wish they would make this game into a sequel with true roguelike gameplay, and enemies that don't spawn on top of you (instakilling you in the process). Give the player some breathing room inbetween waves, option to choose buffs, heal ship health, etc. At the moment, this isn't a very relaxing game to play when pretty much all the game modes turn into frantic twitch-based gaming, where you die in 1 shot. There needs to be a longer "flow" game mode with more methodical strategies.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is gas, hands down no contest. but when i found out that the entire single player campaign of geometry wars 3 isn't available to be played through in co-op mode, instead having only but a mere handful of levels available for co-op, i felt an emotion that doesn't exist.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm on the fence and would have given it a Neutral review if I could. The game is great when it works as it is supposed to. However, it has had many technical issues from the start and they haven't been resolved to this day. PROS: + This game offers a number of game modes, levels and builds (drones & supers). I have recorded my gameplay for the 9 of the first 10 levels (all 3 Stars): https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1XKwp43TrrJY_zq3JdZvhCFpGCK0uhC8 + Soundtrack is nice. CONS: -…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Legit one of the most underappreciated and heavy dopamine hitting games of all time, I've been on this train since the original game in the garage of Project Gotham Racing 2 on XBOX. Geo Wars 3 is as close to a perfect arcade game as you could possibly get without flaws. It checks all the boxes, perfect classic game modes, refined modes with experimental gameplay, and 3 dimensional levels, some better executed than others. Music is entrancing, multiplayer is incredible if you can manage to get…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was never good at math. I hated numbers, shapes, and equations. I always struggled with homework, tests, and quizzes. I felt like math was a foreign language that I could never understand. But everything changed when I discovered Geometry wars. Such a simple, fun and addictive game. I played it for hours. I didn't realize it at first, but Geometry wars was actually teaching me math. It was helping me improve my spatial awareness, my reaction time, and my problem-solving skills. Soon, I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I spent so many nights playing this on Xbox. I am still in love with it! Fantastic arcade Titan!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game. I wish GW2 was available though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great music and fun to play. Old school arcade gameplay, yet modernized with awesome graphics. What's there not to love. Totally recommend this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is probably the most addictive title I've ever played. It is very strongly recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So addicting. I've been here since the first Geometry wars on XBLA. Love this series. So many games have imitated this style of dual stick shooter and just aint as good. They did it right. Would like to see more future releases. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is easily the best twin stick shooter out there. It's a shame they stopped updating the series. Hopefully someone picks this series up and makes more
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome game. All of the game modes from 1 and 2 are available in the classic mode, and the adventure mode adds some excellent complexity to the formula. Highly recommended, great time killer, beautiful visuals, and it works PERFECTLY on the Steam Deck.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A certifiable classic! I sure would like to get another one of these, but then, I can't really think of anything they could add. This one pretty much does it all!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Late 2023: holds up very well, technically and artistically at 4K. Plays well with a controller. Highly recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommended, with caveats. The performance in Full Screen is absolutely awful, more on this below - set the game to borderless window and its far better. Imo it's not as good as GW1 or 2 , but is still a top twin stick shooter, with a great soundtrack. The move to new visuals are the Achilles heel imo, the random FPS drops can kill , which is annoying - but the worst aspects for me are the glowing 3d play area visuals which can strobe and actually camouflage enemy spawns which can be so…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely phenomenal game, with Sektori as a spiritual successor (but not in the same league as GW3).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've always loved Geometry Wars, this one brought 3D into the mix, which was pretty good! Just wish the co-op mode had the classic modes and wasn't limited to 10 premade levels... Geometry Wars 2 on steam would be nice, but alas...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the game, wish online and leaderboards would work on Linux, like Steam OS.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too difficult. Its probably great if you've been playing for years but the first couple levels are nearly impossible for noobs. its a huge turn off and I'll probably just shelf this game for a while because of it. Why not have difficulty levels???
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely fantastic game, easy to start, hard to master. You’ll be hooked for hours trying to 3 star every level! Also works great on Steam Deck!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →become triangle
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this games compatibility with steam deck has ruined me you should do the same
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i went from the old reboot to the new one, and going back and forth between the two games... theres a few key mechanics that force you to put yourself in danger and then enemies insta spawn on you, the graphics also become very muddled, with enemies exploding into shards that look like enemies instead of just sparks... its just a bit of a frustrating mess. i understand wanting to improve and iterate but this is a step backwards, despite the appealing graphics.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A shmup that is more about level variety then ship variety. Complete dozens of challenges while your retinas are skewered by flashing lights until an enemy spawns on top of you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you have the kind of AuDHD where you only feel alive in the face of overwhelming urgency OR if you have an ear for really cool sound design OR if you just like looking at pretty colors while you manipulate your dopamine receptors into a false sense of accomplishment OR if you're straight up unemployed - get this game! I love this game like no other game I've played. First played ~2013 and it's always exactly as engaging as it was the last time I played it, genuinely never gets old. Its…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pacifism greatest game mode to ever exist in any video game genre ever
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this game. A brilliantly engineered exploration of fun surfaces while you rapid fire away at and avoiding colliding with various autonomous polyhedral solids. Exactly the kind of thing to wind down and let your mind settle. 2D top down view, very much that classic, simple, retro-style concept with stunning 21st century engine and optics. There is endless replay value with different ways to succeed depending on your style of play, and there are a number of different game modes on top of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm astonished the twin-stick-shooter hasn't come out with anything that can top this in over 10 years. So much to do, so many different ideas, so many colours. My favourite part has to be the enemy variety, each one makes you react differently, but don't bog down gameplay, mostly everything dies in one hit. Top it off with fantastic visuals and a decent soundtrack, and you're in for a good time. Also, if you have any misgivings about the first sentence of this review, please send me…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An arcade-style shoot 'em up with almost flawless gameplay. You can't hate this game. 9.5 / 10 + Gameplay is perfect. Simple controls allow anyone to play and you will always be met with a satisfying challenge. + There is a large variety of enemies all with their own distinct behaviors that keep you on your toes. + A variety of modes to play through, including a campaign, endless, and elite modes. Lots of things to do. + Music's great. = It's hard. = Enemies can spawn on top of you. It's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →JUST ONE MORE TIME! I was first introduced to Geometry Wars over 15 years ago on Xbox and found it on Steam a few years later. Geometry Wars was one of my first purchases on steam and still an amazing purchase. If you're deciding on this or the Retro Evolved, this game is worth the extra few bucks. There is so much more to do in this game. Plus all the original content from Retro Evolved.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Perfect arcade game, best played in short sessions (on the steam deck for me). I usually find that when I come back the next day I blaze through whatever level was tripping me up. My favorite are the 3D shape levels but the flat ones give me Robotron 2084 flashbacks so I like them too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is just amazing all around. I have literally no complaints about it. If you're unsure of whether you like twin-stick shooters, this is one of the best made. Brings in new players well. I have much more time on the PS4 version, and I am now just 2 achievements away from the Platinum.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still after more than a decade-there's nothing like it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is made for autistic spergs
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buen juego para apagar el cerebro y romper cuadraditos de colores. Y a veces te enganchas y podes buscar el high score. Divertido pa pasar el rato
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fantastic cooperative arcade-style game, looks great and sounds fantastic in 2025. Pretty much the pinnacle modern twin-stick shooter.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A complete new take on the earlier versions. It is possible to get multipliers as high as 10,000 or more. Each level is different. Such a variety and a real desire to max out everything. Then you want to keep going. Additionally there are extra full modes. It really is the complete package. Been playing this for years and I doubt there will be a Geo 4. I mean how could the devs possibly improve on this. A lot of artistic and original thought went into this game. Oh, and if you die, which you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Totally unique & bizzare game full of fantastic colours and shapes and sounds. Extremily addictive.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not as good as geometry wars 2, but steam doesn't have that game, so thhhissss is the next best thing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →what the hell is going on
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best bullet hell
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A cool game for the Steam Deck. What I would have liked is an option to turn off that annoying voice.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A literally perfect game, incredible audiovisual design and responsive, satisfying gameplay. Remarkably easy to achieve a flow state playing this game. Play Proton Version on Linux since leaderboards don't work with the Native Linux version AND apparently saves do not transfer between versions - wasted a bit of progress because of this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game itself is perfectly fine, but the weird amount of glaring, constant technical stutters is so distracting and frustrating. With the game being as old as it is, I doubt they'll ever be fixed. Might be better off with the console version.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10/10, played this for probably a few hundred hours on the xbox 360
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is awesome and runs so well on the Steam Deck. GW:3 offers new challenges and the game is so easy to pick up and play. It feels extra rewarding when you finally get a new high score or get past a level in adventure mode. If you played the previous 2 or you're looking to scratch the itch for more SkyForce then get this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a pure gamer's game, just you vs shapes
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing dual stick shooter, I was a big fan of the first one, this one more than lives up to it and evolves the game mechanics greatly. A great step forward for the franchise. If you're into dual stick shooters it's a must have.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like bullet hell, high score type of games very recomended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I play this while listening to boring phone conversations, where i intermittently respond a confirmation tone. I'm safe as long as they don't ask me to repeat what I heard
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm coming for you... Just Steve!!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Should be called "Overstimulation Evolved," because there is far too much happening here and it's impossible to keep track of. I've died more to random enemies spawning on top of me than anything else because it's so hard to see the glowing neon lights indicating where enemies are about to appear in a sea of other glowing neon lights. The 3D object playing fields are fun in theory, until you get hit by 15 enemies all flying at your face at mach speed that you didn't see because they were on the…
