Gear Club Unlimited 2 is a beautiful arcade racing game that reminds me Gran Turismo 1 and Need for Speed Porsche. It's a gem from a bygone era, when racing games were simpler, allowing even younger players to unlock all the achievements. It's the kind of game I used to play with my childhood friends on the console during a long night, that's what it reminds me of, but with modern graphics. Overall, it's a great racing game that doesn't seem to be trying to compete with Forza Horizon or…

Really unfinished. Stutters on a 2070 Super. Half the time, the buttons don't even respond in menus. During a race, the car will randomly just turn completely black. To top it off, you cannot pause in races at all!! I'm sure there are plenty of other problems, but I already gave up after this much in less than 30 minutes!

As a game developer, you just can't win. You go for variety, and people tell you that your game is too weird. Imagine what happens when you don't go for variety, and try your best to compete with twenty other products? You make concessions, and then people tell you that your work just isn't good enough. Imagine what happens when you don't make concessions, and tell everyone to shove off if they don't like your work? And if you're one of the people who are willing to point out this sad…

This game is like being kicked in the nuts repeatedly. A horrible painful experience. It starts with you messing around just to get your gamepad recognised by the game (Something that it should do automatically but doesn't because it's crap!!) The car handling is like something from a cheap car racer from 20 years ago and that makes it, yes you guessed it...CRAP. For some reason everything looks bleached out, there's no real colour. So CRAP!! And the biggest insult is that they insist on…

Pretty good arcade racing game for Switch, less so for PC. This game is full of flaws but not the worst one I ever played. To me it feels like, it was made for people who never touched a racing game in their lives. It's hard to ignore the game was only intended for mobile devices and wasn't supposed to see the light of being ported over to consoles or PCs. Some of the positive things I can say about this game include: good selection of licensed cars, solid soundtrack and quite a bit of track…

If you're looking for a top-quality racing game with a deep story, this isn't the game for you. If you want to chill, have 20 minutes to play, want to complete a few races, feel some real progress, and don't like rubberbanding, this is the game for you, especially if you get it on sale.

I played the first Gear.Club on mobile a long time ago, but only enjoyed it briefly due to the heavy time gates and microtransactions. That said, the game had a solid base in terms of physics, despite some quirky handling. With Gear.Club Unlimited 2, all of the typical mobile game annoyances are gone. Modifications and upgrades to your car are now instant—no more waiting around. The physics feel slightly improved, cars are little easier to control, though not drastically. Visually, the game…

Once you realize this is a port of a Nintendo Switch game, you end up appreciating some of the features it has over other racing games on Steam. I am 99% certain it is the only racing game with licensed cars on PC with a four player split screen mode, one of two games (the other being The Crew 2) that features both Porsche and RUF vehicles, and it comes with a track racing focused expansion where you have to manage fuel and tire wear. Mind you, the game is not amazing by any means, but it…

Basically Forza Horizon 5 but with less budget Originally released on the Nintendo Switch, this is a complete version of the game with all post-launch content included in one Ultimate Edition for PC. The game opens with a simple premise: the racing team is going bankrupt, and you’re replacing the previous driver, aiming to win this big competition. The story doesn’t throw walls of text at you; instead, you’ll occasionally see short speech bubbles where characters briefly explain what’s…

*Only recommended on sale If you are looking for a basic racing game, that feels great on a keyboard, this 100% is for you. While there is a lot of stuff to critique: drifting feeling sticky, the AI treating every race like a time trial, the gamepad controls that feel horrible even though this game was originally designed for consoles, the story being as basic as can be, or the fact that completing this game is really irritating due to the repetitiveness at some point. I think especially…

Could've been a really good racing game, but there's just too much repetition in grinding its 250 singleplayer events. Honestly seems like a higher-budget mobile game created to capitalize on the Nintendo Switch's lack of racing games at the time. The cars themselves are fun to drive though, and most cars handle quite differently from one another. Mastering drifting at high speeds also feels great. But unfortunately most events are way, way too easy, and you'll be ahead of the pack the entire…

Well, then you get Gear.Club 2 Unlimited 2 "Ultimate Edition". Listen, I'm leaving it in my library, because it was laughably cheap and is not THAT bad. I cannot recommend it though, honestly. But the most important point is that I cannot recommend this version over the Switch version. I already have that game on the Nintendo Switch. First of all, it is a PC port of game made for Nintendo Switch and there are some limitations and design decisions that carried over from that console. Generally, it is playable and the game has some cool concepts here and there but when it comes to core gameplay - racing the game is above-average at best. There's a decent variety of cars and all of them are quite well detailed, which is exact opposite to the game's map design which is very bland and repetitive (most likely because of Switch's…

Eh, it's an ok port. Performance is fine on a 2080 super, but the game is pretty bare-bones. The races are long, like really long, which I would normally consider a good thing, but they're so boring. You get to the front of the pack at the start and just stay there. There's almost no rubberbanding, which again I would consider a good thing, but the A.I. aren't capable enough to make the races compelling without it. So you just drive by yourself for 5 minutes at a time, multiple times over, to…

Play if you lack racing games (I guess?) Despite the lack of hours in this game, what throws me off is the car handling, it's god AWFUL (I've played GRID 2, that has the most floaty driving physics but sometimes it FEELS fun), and feels like they tried to replicate Gran Turismo but couldn't, not even GT on the PSP is as bad as this... and I own a PSP. This one scrapes barely into "recommended" territory for me. It's worth a go if you can get it cheap and while the game does plenty of things right, it does others horrifically. GCU2 is a Switch port, so the visuals aren't great, even with the settings maxed out. Honestly, not a deal breaker; just don't go in expecting Forza Horizon. The best way I can describe the game is babies first simcade racer. The game teaches you stuff like the racing line, and expects you to follow it for the best…

This game is simple and fun, it reminds me of old retro Need for Speed games but with good graphics. It's not a AAA racing game though! It has local multiplayer and split screen support too so it's good for gaming on big TVs with family or friends :p Tip: If you find the handling is so bad on some tracks just change the tires or the car.

GCU2UE (just GCU2 from here on) is the "gold edition" of GCU2, a racing game "lite" from Eden Games, a company better known for being a developer of licensed properties, but this is their original IP. It is a racing game, with some odd handling choices, but a huge variety of cars and tracks, plus some random content so there's plenty of events to go around, but lacks the innovative factors or the exoticness that made Forza Horizon or even the Crew 2 or similar games interesting. Includes car customization (although not for all cars), a unique garage upgrade and management system, and nice physics once you get to the fast cars. Keep your expectations in check as this is not a AAA game, but this feels like one of those A or B tier games that was pretty good even though they didn't have a huge budget. Well, nowadays developers seem obsessed with forcing things. There is no true single-player mode, only career and multiplayer. In career mode, you start immediately with the Mini Cooper and are forced to complete three qualifying races before you can even access a dealer to choose from the first four cars. There is no single-player free play, no free track mode, nothing of the sort. Multiplayer is split between split-screen and online, but I didn’t even bother testing it. Graphically, the game…

An initially charming game that falls apart at the seams the more you play it. The bulk of the issues with this game are related to the game's AI which difficulty is tied to the vehicle class. So initially it's very easy and as you go on B and C class both offer a fair challenge. The frustration begins once you've put 10+ hours into the game and start racing D class vehicles to learn how the AI cheats, defies the laws of physics, rubberbands and rams you relentlessly. I like that it keeps things simple when it comes to starting a race. Just pick an event and a car from the menu and the race starts. Just like older racing games. After playing for around an hour, I couldn't stand the AI or the poor handling anymore. The game's graphics are pretty good, at least if you max them out. But I just didn't have the patience for the game's weird AI difficulty anymore. There is no way to change it, only adding assists. Which really doesn't do anything to change things. This game is convergence of everything that should have been QA'ed out before launch.

Most of the excruciating slog of a campaign, was about racing the same tracks on every class And still, to put it to perspective, Gear club´s main competition on the Switch would have been Grid Autosport, an old spin off, that still feels a decade ahead of whatever this got going on. EDEN Soul I did like the arcade direction, clean UI, and old school events map. Not many games can boast an actual customizable garage.…

Seems like a really great game in terms of graphics and overall it looks really good. What really threw me off was the AI being overly agressive, u can't even drive along side them without them trying to push u off the track or just trying to ruin your whole race in every way possible, also the handling felt way off. Coming from someone with 20 years of experience playing everything from arcade to sim racing games this is by far one of the worst games i've ever played handling wise

Tracks: Hairpin, 90 degree turn, hairpin, hairpin, hairpin, 90 degree turn, ad inifinitum. Every roundabout/crossing is exactly the same. No flow, no sophisticated combinations testing your merit. Driving: Switch off all assists (if you don't the game will brake, steer and get on and off the throttle for you) and wonder why your brakes do next to nothing without brake assist. Sometimes it seems as if the car is stationary and the world is moving around it. It's a moblile port Frankenstein of…

Buy this game: - If you are looking for a decent NFS-esk, type of game (with the collection aspect of GT or Forza), which isn’t under the EA’s belt of nonsense (DRM, limited activations, data mining, forced EAplay). It has the right mix of arcadeness, customization, multiple tournaments divide by classes, and pure mindless arcade racing. - If you are reminiscing of the style of old Grand Turismo and Ridge Racer games. There are spotlights that reminds that sweet PS2/PS3 era (specially the…
