If feels like every time I read a review for a 4X space strategy game, I come across the phrase "Spiritual Successor to MOO", referring to the granddaddy of the 4X space genre "Masters of Orion" released way back 1993. This is of course nonsense, you know what the spiritual successor to Masters of Orion was? Masters of Orion II published in 1996, in fact is wasn't just a spiritual successor but an actual, real successor to boot. There have been plenty of amazing space…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Galactic Inheritors. A 4x Space Game. Name: Galactic Inheritors Genre: 4x, Strategy Personal View: All these analogy is making me hungry. Review Let us use food to represent the quality and type of space 4x I have played over the years. Sins of A Solar Empire is like a fast food, I eat it quickly since the game only takes 2-3 hours per match and it doesn't leave a mess on the table with bloated save files and such and quite nicely enough it has a wide variety of plate or maps for me to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a pretty slick game. It is not as Epic as other space games, but it is fun. Turn based. The game is rather simple on some levels and a little complex on others. Moving ships is easy - just select the fleet and right click to your destination. You need to Explore a star system before you can colonize it. Enemy star systems that you conquer you can immediately colonize. To find resources you need to explore a second time, and then activate the resource with an explorer ship which uses…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this on sale and I ignored the negative reviews because I love these types of games. The rubbish ones usualy have redeeming features for genre fans like me. Not this one. This may have been fun in the early 90s but not now. This is soooo basic and not in the awesome sense like the classic Stars! it is basic in that it feels incomplete and or was not thought through. The sound is basic. The mechanics are basic. It is not compelling at all. I left a postive review for Lords of the Black…

They cleaned up the UI a bit and fixed a plethora of bugs and glitches. However, there still just isn't enough here to justify 20 dollars. When I first joined early access with this game, I was expecting something much... more. The 2 things that make this game stand out is the Military Industrial Complex (which is how you build your military ships) and the media-focused Diplomacy system…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the game, but there some serious annoyances. First the good. I love how the exploration ships are used for more than just exploration. That idea alone is brilliant. The thought of purchasing your war ships through private companies and performing research through those companies is a great idea, but I do not feel it was implemented well. Perhaps if each company specialized in something or gave you a patented technology that only they could provide, or some incentive to pick one…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this half on nostalgy of MOO and also because I had the chance to meet Chris at Paradox and enjoy his game designs. I could only devote a few hours of play here (and that's a shame, but looks like the way life is now regarding our passion for games, we need ones with good concepts, easy handling, simple learning curve). Well, I am pleasantly surprised. Sure, it's a slow begining (but like all 4X almost) and the graphical elements have much room for improvement (but if I can tell from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great game for any 4X player. You can feel the developers understand intimately and passionately the genre. The AI is very well made and mounts a formidable challenge. A few 'early access' bugs like background music starts a few minutes in, but nothing to spoil the very enjoyable experience. I would love to see more immersive artwork added.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Galactic Inheritors: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ With all its splendour, the galaxy is full stars, planets with exquisite resources and fives species including my favourite one the “Ribetars “(Amphibian, frogs like species. We are everywhere, cousins!) who will go head to head for galactic supremacy in this 4X space game. At first, you will have to setup a game by choosing which race you will be playing (rebit..rebit..are), what map size which includes small, medium and large. The smallest map will…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is potential here, I want you to keep that in mind, because down the road this game could be interesting. There's a couple of interesting mechanics with the explorer units and exploiting resources, and the diplomacy portion could be interesting in terms of holding off people attacking you. This definitely can change based on what options become available, and I will keep my eye out on this one. But the game is FAR too slow. Missing keyboard shortcuts is brutal, as everything is mouse…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Take to the stars as one of five different races as you try to conquer the galaxy. You will be able to do so through diplomacy, conquest, research, and more. Will you be the last race standing or will you pay the ultimate price and see your race wiped from existence. Galactic Inheritors is a 4X strategy game by Crispon Games and Argonauts Interactive. The races you will get to choose from all have their advantages and disadvantages, but if you learn how to master them you can definitely put…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great start to what can be a fantastic gaming experience. This game will really suit those players looking for a galactic sized strategic workout. Hopefully this project gets enough backing to see it come to completion. Can't wait for more updates!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Galactic Inheritors is exactly what the game summary says it is. So if you like that summary and you do not apply your own ideas of what else it might be, implied or otherwise, then this game will suit you and I recommend the game for you. If you are invisioning great dynasties and story side events to occur similar to CK2 or EU then although that may be the inferal you are most likely to take from the dev shop, it is not what they are drawing on for this game and in that you will be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More reviews @ TheVideogamebacklog.com In the mood for a 4X space sim? CrisPon Games & Argonauts Interactive are putting their hat into the ring with Galactic Inheritors. It’s got multiple races, large maps (if you want them) and tons of things to research and build. Oh, did I mention that there are space frogs? That’s kind of hilarious… and yes I’m playing them now. Seriously though, my only gripe for Galactic Inheritors is found in the research screen. I love all the options you’ve got and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Prepare For Corporate Wars Galactic Inheritors is a 4X Space Strategy game that is more about the space and less about exploration. The player will find a deep and rich story within this game. However, is it the story or the gameplay that dictates what makes a 4X Strategy game successful? positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really playable with all the 4X requirements plus a few extras that add to the depth of this game, so it's more than the norm. There are some small changes I'd like to see, but reading the developers feed, I can see they are on the way. I did want to get in to battle sooner (but needed shios etc) and want spys so I could try to influence the media for other races (against each other) and to know more about what they were doing.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like this game. Lot of very good ideas hidden behind an average graphical dressing. I hope the media system will be developped further
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easily among the worst entries that the genre has ever seen. It doesn't try to bring ANYTHING new to the table, features graphics that are poor even for the "last generation", a research tree that is both short and unimaginative, a combat system that neither requires thought or tactics, and feels rushed to its June released date. The media system, something supposedly unique to GI, is boring and provides no thrill WHATSOEVER to gameplay. A better game can be found in Sword of the Stars 1,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An instant classic 4X game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfinished game unfortunately. The basics are good and it would be a fine space strategy game turn based a bit like master of orion of fame, but there is too much missing features. It also lacks some polish in the interfaces to play the game. Some of them are hard to understand just because they are badly designed. But making a good ui is an art in itself! The game doesn't have any bugs that i noticed. It seems it was fixed pretty much since starting sales. The devs don't seem to support the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →1. Game looks primitive 2. Game looks unfinished 3. Game have bugs 4. Game provides a lot of fun Te last one beats all 3 above. I just hope they will not leave it as it is, but "polish" it a lot more. Also some kind of tutorila teaching game basic would be nice.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was okay, I just didn't like the look and some mechanics. But it's not a bad game, per se. At least not in my opinion. If you like 4x, I say give it a go at least.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Your typical 4X space empire building game, but lacking polish or finesse. I have always been drawn to this genre, however have had a hard time finding good ones. This didn't hit the mark for me. Turns take longer since the every ship move is shown, including the computers. The whole map is shown so you already know where everybody and everything is. The one interesting feature I found is the military ship building. You order them via 3 companies. As the companies build your ships they…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I dont know what to say really, i just dont see what anyone could see in this game. I know looks arent everything, but this is the ugliest space 4x i have come across, the UI is also hidious. There is nothing here that ANY other space 4x has not got, problem is that they all do it all alot better, i just cant see why they bothered with this one. The only semi good thing is the Military Industry Complex and that is it, the exploring is lame, the ships are lame, the gfx are terrible etc. Now i…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Started off well and then....fell flat on its face because it was ABANDONED!!!!!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are so many things I like about Galactic Inheritors. New/revived ideas differentiate this game from the hoardes of other space 4X wannabes. I think the two aspects that stood out the most were the forced used of propaganda to persuade the public before being able to declare war, and outsourcing of warships. The latter needs some work, but the game had enough positives for me to spend almost 18 hours on it. Unfortunately, the devs lazied out on controls, and that's what killed the game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Please! For the love of God Save your money!!! Dont be fooled by what looks like a good idea, it's ruined by looooooooooooong wait times. and dumb Ai. I went into this thinking that the dipllomacy part would be a really fun and nifty part of gameplay. Boy! Was I wrong. It takes 10 turns to do anything diplomacy related and then you really dont get anything from it. No trading no allies just an AI that's going to sit there and wait untill you get bored and declare war on them. Next complaint.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2 out of 5 Stars (I am being generous) Negatives: 1. This game has great potential but fails to live up to it. 2. Much of the game mechanics are cumbersome. The tech tree is predictable and short. 3. The computer AI is not aggressive even though at times while I was playing it clearly had advantages. 4. Some of the special tech advantages are not detailed in any manner and so as the player you will have no idea what you should do. 5. Upgrading manufacturing companies is not at all detailed so…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is possibly the worst 4x I've ever played. And I've played a LOT of them. Very first game I was beaten back to my home system before realizing that debt only hurt research and had no limit, so proceed to run nine shipyards at full capacity for the remainder of the game and conquer the galaxy. Finished with so much debt the game had trouble displaying my money properly. There are no 'subgames' to keep you occupied outside of the primary loop so there is nothing else to it that might…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The low production values, and simplified play makes this a rather charming game for me. It's too bad it has such negative views, but it makes sense that it would in the end. I don't fully know what it is, but the game managed to captivate me for an entire play through. I only wonder if it can do it again. I shall find out soon enough when I tackle hard mode. I'm curious to know what the penalties are that the game places on the player for that difficulty setting.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →bukly and simplisitic maybe worth a dollar
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/nikAn0ERfJ0 The lack of animations, full sound, and limited options in most areas leave this feeling like a shell of the 4X foundations the game is drawing inspiration from.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not Recommended. The game is very shallow, and what is available is bugged, As a vivid 4X player I struggled to win at leats one session. I tried for total domination, and was close to wun despite such facts that in half cases the fleet just decided not to fire or not to shoot. However, because of the bug in media mechanism (which is the only remotely innovative feature) I was not allowed to declare war on one of the races, Then I hed for technical victory. This requires to build 4 buildin.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is very stable and easy to learn and play. Unfortunately it's also very simple. There just isn't much to do in the game. After nearly 2 hours of playing I think I've seen everything the game has to offer. Turn 54 looks just like turn 5. It's just boring. BUT if you are looking for a very casual board game and it's on sale for 80% off it might be worth giving it a try.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to like this, but I can't bring myself to say that I do. The interface is horribly clunky, taking too many clicks to do simple things. For instance, if you have a production queue, you should be able to rearrange the queue instead of deleting items (and clicking confirmation) and then readding. Also, AI heaps a zillion ships everywhere and no way to make borders safe because fleet size is very limited (reminds me of Endless Space), while AI seems able to put its entire fleet on your…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Doesn't feel like a finished game. =( To bad because I love this kind of game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Turnbased Strategy Game. It remind me of Stellaris and Galactic Civilization. Not much more to say. My score Gameplay 6/10 Graphics 5/10 Sounds 6/10 Summary 17/30
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i thought for a while that i downloaded demo of the game... Game have some nice ideas but it looks like it has been abandoned half way.. What a shame.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I rate games by value for money. This game is worth £2 As a 4x veteran, I do like games that try to do something different in the genre, so was intigued by this games 'media manipulation' aspect. Sadly, the game that has been pasted on to that idea isn't very good. It's an extremely light Galactic Civilizations clone, and isn't all that interesting for it. Worth picking up for peanuts, but nothing more.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →im not saying that this game isnt enjoyable it just does not entertain for long. The game lacks excitement and a desire to play more and the actions yoyu take as a player become repetive and meaningless. i would not reccomed this game to anyone looking to invest large ammunts of time
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Has potential but is not worth $20 compared to other competitors
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another bad space strategy and very buggy. Research new technologies from the development tree, build structures and ships on your planets. To own planet you have to colonize it first. Move exploration ships to uncover path to new planets, they can scan for resources available on current planet. Gameplay feels very basic without any complex stuff. 5 races to choose from. Game pace is slow, just skip to another turn most of the time and move ships to adjacent space. Diplomacy sucks, without any…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this was a horrible game. i know its abandoned and not even on sale would i buy it. mine game into a bundle. i was disappointed there really wasn't a lot to it. it felt like it was just slapped together shipped to steam then left alone.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Far to shallow and unpolished. Not worth your time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you wanna enjoy the game YOU MUST watch the tutorials. Good gameplay Awesome Graphics Fitted soundtracks Just that the price is quite high.. so try to get it on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is hard to play, and is very similar to flash games you can get for free.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yes, it took me less than 30 minutes to solve this game problem and delete it. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. CONS : 1 - The visual is horrible. It does look even worse than what you may expect from the screenshots. Animation are almost inexistant. 2 - The HUD is totally dysfunctional. Nothing closes or open alone and you have to navigate to the ''exit button'' at every action you will do. Navigation through all the menus is tricky, long and of course, more ugly than you can ever imagine.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted so much to like this game, but it is just so boring. There is so little to do and what little there is has no description so there is no way to know what effect if any half the stuff has. There is no customization in the game and the diplomacy while a unique idea with much promise just drags the game on without adding anything to the game really.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is by far the most disappointing space game I've played yet. Money better spent buying Empyrium I think
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too simple compare to similar games on the market
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very basic and lacks explanations. There are four expeditions and at least two global resources. What do they do? I don't know. There's no mechanical explanation or even fluff for most of them. Rather annoying.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →hot, hot garbage
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a simple and straight forward 4X, just very basic. There is a solid foundatioon, it just needs more, more description of what research does, what building the things researched does and more ways to actually interact with the othe races. It needs more research branches, maybe one that gives multiple diplomacy tracks, instead of one total. Maybe split out into the three diplomacy types with small bonuses to make them more effective. THe exploration ships were handy and I liked the exploit…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a very standard 4X game, but it does Introduce some cool mechanics in terms of media campaigns. Buy on a sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is unfinished and not supported by the developers.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tags: 4X - Empire Management Additional Tags: Delete Local Contents & Remove from Library TLDR: Generic to a fault. Low budget and clunky. You feel detached from the action. Go retro with Master of Orion. Go modern with Stellaris. As generic as they come - all the menus - races, buildings, sound design, graphical engine and overall GUI navigation are all low budget, uninspired, clunky washed out confusing boring. Gives a very detached feel with no immersion, as far as entertainment value goes…
