You need to give orders to soldiers, clearing one location after another killing aliens. The plot is actually quite interesting, and there are many detailed locations. There's also a wide variety of monsters—some of them are weak, others that will take real effort to kill. The main challenge is managing every soldier in your squad at once, keeping track of everyone, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Future War Tactics: SOF vs Alien Invasion – Turn-Based Strategy Story: The premise sounds promising at first, elite soldiers fighting off an alien invasion but the execution completely falls flat. The writing is painfully weak, with dialogue that feels unnatural and lacking any real military authenticity. There’s no proper terminology, no believable communication style, and it constantly breaks immersion. On top of that, the aliens themselves feel uninspired, especially when they’re just…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Useless...you cannot save at all mid-mission, even if you just want to quit and continue later. Missions are 1-2 hours.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is just too much wrong with this game to ever recommend it. I honestly don't know how it has a "mostly positive" review. 1. To start off with my least 'impactful" issue: The writing is TERRIBLE. Not only are the responses something close to what a 12 year old would say, but none of the "lingo" is correct. It's almost like the developer has never seen any kind of war movie or anything in "action". Instead of saying over and out, it's just "end of communications". There is no code (10-4),…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Has some competent elements, but probably not worth your time. + graphics are good enough + map design appears okay + clean UI + gameplay basics work fine - Some UI elements not translated to English - Dialogue is laughable and translated horribly - Uninteresting enemies (in couple first missions, at least) - Generic characters, no customization - Reload action takes too much AP, nonsensical choice - No saving mid-mission... a deal breaker, honestly. Not so much for save-scumming, but as a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →for the price its worth trying. but it also comes with its negatives. these are all minor things though. worth the time to play. mission 7 crashed mulitple times could do with a checkpoint in missions voice acting is a little strange DO NOT REPLAY A MISSION UNLESS YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE GAME. if you try to replay a mission, say the 2nd mission, and you are currently on mission 7, it resets the campaign to mission 2. so you lose all your progress. but all comes with the price. so i would…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feels like pro-Russia propaganda with brave Russian soldiers the only thing standing between Earth and alien invaders (as opposed to XCOM's international approach). Note that QuadCom Interactive is located in Moscow, so that may explain it. As far as gameplay is concerned: poor English translations, with VO not matching text. Also: some item descriptions only partly translated, with Cyrillic characters still present. QOL issues including no line of site indicator for prospective moves,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cannot recommend this game without a save feature during combat. My combats last 1-2 hours and Steam crashes frequently at my house. I have 7 hours into the game, 3-4 of which are replaying missions that I've had an hour or so into and then lost due to Steam crashes. Price point on this game is fantastic, but I can only play crash-free at work (and that can be stressful, as you can imagine!)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't understand people who compare this to xcom... People, these are indie developers and they don't claim to be AAA. It's quite normal for indie
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's quite frankly, dreadful. Apart from enemies of which which there are many - you are outnumbered and flanked all the time. Your soldiers can move 18 action points. But reloading costs...14 action points. Your soldiers miss their shots a lot. The aliens - hardly ever. Almost each scenario, you have enemies above you with better accuracy. So you always walk into ambushes. The controls are shocking. why you can't use a mouse to move is beyond me. ASWE keys - which half the time prolong the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In it's current state I can't recommend this game. Pros: Xcom inspired game with simple enough controls. Familiar type of system that isnt done too terribly. Cons: A.I. voice over for everything Bad translations AP cost to move items game can be a tad buggy with controls and or delay itself. Balance feels extremely off. By mission 3 expect them to have a decent bit more health and you are getting overran with ease. No saving mid missions which is a massive QoL feature that it needs…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is probably still in the ALFA version, it's very much unfinished, and there are a ton of bugs. I definitely do not recommend it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too yanky and barebones even to my liking. If you can get it for a buck or two then maybe try it but probably not worth much more than that, even if that.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Less than 30 min in, and I'm uninstalling it. It's got the framework of a good game, so I'm not refunding it; I'll check back in half a year to see how it's going. That being said, I cannot suggest it to anyone at this clunky and glitchy point in time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: -Great plot. -Great scenery and well designed graphics. Cons -13 Maps only. Would be better if it had 20. Opinion. This is another unity based game. If you want to spend 5usd its worth it. Finished the game within 8 hours. I think I would enjoy it more if it had more modes or more maps.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is reminiscent of XCOM so i had to try it Starting up Future War Tactics! www.twitch.tv/inerull

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When you launch the game it's all in russian so you may have a problem to find the setting and change the language if you don't know cyryllic. Game itself is extremely basic.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No neutral option, Not a bad game, just feels like it needed more time in the oven. Mostly QOL issues. Smoothing out small issues would go a long way. Game has potential.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Why I lost: 30% - bad tactical choice. 70% - spent all AP on management in backpacks. I like it)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →badly made game. smole bugs hiders this game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it OK just not worth the price. wasn't fun and needs a lot of work. also who ever wrote it needs to use spell check and check over for grammar errors. it cost way to much AP for reload action and it also have to few rounds in the clips. i would not recommend this game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Better Than SSR, But Still Feels Like a Prototype Having played both versions, I’d call this a «director’s cut» rather than a full remake. The core is the same (kill aliens, loot crates, laugh at the plot), but the details matter: GOOD: The new AP system lets you feel the difference. WEIRD: Aliens still use human guns. Did they invade Earth just to raid a Rosoboronexport warehouse? Wishlist for a Patch: Destructible environments (even Phoenix Point got this right). More enemy variety…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finally, you can give the sniper a shotgun! Even with a penalty to accuracy, at least in close combat there is now a chance.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No mid-mission saves means every move feels like Russian roulette with a spreadsheet. I’ve never loved and hated inventory so much at once
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A good new product for fans of turn-based tactics
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Went in expecting "Soviet XCOM" got "XCOM on vodka." 10/10 for chaos.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →...it has so much potential to tell a Russian narrative of X-COM events, very similar to the aforementioned game, but lacking polish in many aspects. Unfortunately, turn-based and military games are few and far between. It disappoints a bit in terms of AI, but with a discount on Steam it's a game that's somewhat fun, although it's far from having the refinement of games like X-COM or Phoenix Point. However, it's a worthwhile product for those who enjoy turn-based games; I only recommend buying…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →AP for inventory is a controversial decision. On the one hand, it forces you to plan your equipment in advance (like in Jagged Alliance 3). On the other hand, in the heat of battle, spending AP on moving a grenade from your backpack to your pocket... That's too much.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Tactician’s Dream (With Nightmare UI) What Works: AP tension: Choosing between reloading or moving a medkit adds real stakes. What Doesn’t: Why no "swap items" button? Dragging ammo between soldiers is AP hell.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's decent, get it on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a hell of a lot of fun. And just hard enough to make you want to play more!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's surprising how bad the implementation is. Everything BUT the combat is pretty abysmal. Let's talk about AP for a moment; For one, you can't tell how many AP moving will use. So, you'll most likely move into position, only to find out you don't have any AP for the enemy right behind you. You only know when you don't have any AP (which I don't even know they call it) is when any of your actions are in red text. Intuitive? No. You sometimes don't even know you don't have anymore action…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No guys, not yet... Game feels absolutely dead, I don't mind you using AI or weird vocabulary, but you simply can't charge people for some sort of game prototype. Good luck for the future
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Future War Tactics: SOF vs Alien Invasion aims to deliver a compact, grounded turn-based strategy experience centered around a small Special Operations Forces team confronting a steadily escalating extraterrestrial threat. QuadCom Interactive frames the conflict in a near-future setting tinged with mystery—reports of disappearances, strange atmospheric readings, and anomalous disturbances across the Ural region provide the ominous backdrop. The narrative setup is promising, creating an early…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ok, so have and had huge hopes for this. i am a huge fan of XCom series and i want this to be all that and more. To that end i did the demo and paid for the game on the 17th. i do wish it had more ability to zoom in, i wish it had research and it had ability to advance tech and all of that. to that end, this is not XCom and it may be unfair to compare it that way. I have had some unrecoverable glitches though. In the mission in the research camp with the glowing sphere in the woodline,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A huge plus are short tasks, you don't need to spend hours tracking down crowds of enemies. Adjust the difficulty "for yourself"
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is 90% ready, but those 10%... I advise the developers to improve the game to perfection. I give it a positive rating in absentia.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you compare it with pumping in the classics, the pumping systems are better thought out
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the "bomb defusal against the clock" level - the tension is off the charts
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It becomes easy, with the advent of plasma weapons the game becomes too easy
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Budget XCOM with Soviet Flair – Rough but Charming As a fan of turn-based tactics, I expected another cheap clone, but Future War Tactics surprised me. The shift from 3 AP to class-based action points fixes the biggest flaw of the original – now your sniper isn’t just a rifleman with extra steps. The English VO is... decent (though the Russian dialogue has more emotion), and the gunplay feels weighty. However, the lack of destructible cover is baffling when aliens can smash walls. Pros: All…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game for $0.99 USD and I'm still returning it. I'm going to be a bit harsh on this game if only because I'm upset at the lost potential this game had. On the surface, mechanically, it's an XCOM (2012) clone that's more of a linear story rather than a base building, earth defense. It does a good job with that and isn't bad. The problem however comes in the form that you get no checkpoints during a mission, and you can't save a mission to pick it back up at a later time. So you're…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not terrible but... God is it ever clunky. It feels as if the game UI and animations are barely out of placeholder state and I have mis-clicked to heal my guys as often as I actually hit my target. It just feels unpolished and uninteresting.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Примитивная база пошаговой тактики. Оружие закреплено за бойцами, второстепенный навык выбирается раз и навсегда, это при условии, что описание работы навыков вообще никакущее.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bring back the atmosphere of UFO! Don't miss out! A MUST HAVE !!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is SO good. No save game is the only real gripe...but even with that you will progress anyway, just means you have to lock yourself away for at least 1 hour per mission. Maybe 6 hours? of my 32 hours game play was AFK (Away From Keyboard on pause) Still a good week of gaming. Loved this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A favorite game with slightly different rules - great!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is like chess, but every pawn is a tank and your queen keeps missing 95% shots—hilariously tragic!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No autosave inside missions - scary, but adrenaline is guaranteed
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The graphics are nice, but the animations are sometimes “wooden”. The explosion wanders, and the character is looking incomprehensibly
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For the price, a worthwhile game. I also had 90 minutes on the demo. The voice acting is robotic, but the tactical combat is good, and the UI is fine. The between-mission gameplay is basic, but solid. The balance on a couple missions is not the best, but for the price, it is well worth it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I found this game to be a decent game that has much future potential to itself. Especially If you also do not mind the somewhat quirky AI generated voice actors and their dialogues, etc. It felt a little rough around the edges with the game controls feeling a bit clunky, and a little glitchy in some aspects of it for the gameplay itself. Yet The balance of the game is modest in most regards as well. Overall. It was a fun experience similar to more known game titles for its turn based strategy…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Much like an XCOM clone. Squad tactics of an alien invasion. Works quite well, but limited in scope. Not bad, worth it on special. CONS: Campaign is short - 18 hours RNG is bad - anything under 80% is a miss - so not worth the ammo - send a grenade instead.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A nice, fun game in the spirit of an arcade variant of the Julian Gallop style turn based tactical strategy games like Xcom and Pheonix Point. I've racked up hundreds of hours in both of those and enjoy the straight forward simplicity Future War brings. It is every bit of the previously mentioned games without the base building aspect which keeps the gameplay flowing. Definitely worth the purchase
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Presently the balance is all wrong. It goes from sensible tactical approach to outrageous enemy power. Really frustrating. It still has potential so I will recommend but it seriously needs balancing fixes or I won't be back.
