It is easily worth a sale price, but I would not pay full price as it is. You would also have to like the SP mode, as that is all there is in this version. The MP is dead, and I can't even get people to friend me on steam to play. There are no bots like the original Forsaken I played on N64, and so the replayability is non-existent. There is no split-screen either, and so…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game originally came out in 1998. In 2021 this game still somehow feels ahead of it's time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buying this game felt like buying a piece of my childhood. Back then, I only had a demo with a single level — and yet it carved itself into my memory as something truly extraordinary. Revisiting it today, it still manages to impress. Some experiences simply stay with you, and this game is one of them.

unlabelledView post →Really a great remaster of a classic ! I first played Forsaken when i was a kid on nintendo 64 but for some reasons i never managed to finish it lol. Time to repair this mistake and play this cool game again in this definitve version. There's a lot of options to tweak and it plays really nicely with high refresh rate support, custom fov options, etc... Forsaken is a good 6DOF game, far from being as good as Descent but still worth a shot. Highly recommended. Thanks Kaiser, Nightdive Studios…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the 1990s style intro with the borg-like voice-over commentator. Reminds me of Total Annihilation intro's voice-over.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately, this is not a port of the venerable Forsaken 64, but a different game with reduced levels, enemies, and what feels like worse AI. Compared to the Nintendo 64 version, this port feels hurried, rushed, and incomplete. Instead of a branching mission structure that promotes trying the same missions until you get them down flat, we have to put up with less tactical levels that have barely hidden "crystals" that once you collect make the mission irrelevant. I'm not sure if this is the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I realized late it was not Local multipler nor had any computer bots or any of the great things that the N64 version had going for it...I then refunded it but bought it again as I had hope that the sound track would make me get over the fact that there was no multiplayer as sone of the origional soundtrack on the n64 you could oick what song played for your game but they didnt have a way to switch it...So again everything that made this game what it was is gone.....sad...ill leave my purchase…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great port of a classic 6DOF FPS. It looks great, controls well and shooting is fun and difficult. If you are a fan of this genre then you know the deal by now - Fly through maze-like levels blowing up hundreds of enemy ships and evil robots and find the exit. When you don't want to deal with anything more complicated than circle strafing hordes of enemies to 90's dance music then this is exactly what you need. Back in the day games like Forsaken and Descent were an evolution on Doom and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Blast from the past <3 =================== I remember playing this gem back in 1998 and how wonderful it was. Nightdive studios did a great job with remastering this game so I can play it on my 4K TV and using Xbox controller, the soundtrack , the motions and everything is really smooth and refreshing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its basically Descent. if you havent played Decent go get it on steam and thank me later. Forsaken Remastered is an excellent game, fairly challenging but not too tough, Nightdive studios has done an amazing job on this one, for a game that ran well on the N64 back in the day but felt weird to play with the n64's trident controller now feels amazing with mouse and keyboard, movement is fast and i never feel like im getting dizzy thanks to the games superb job of auto orientation, Forsaken has…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is so sick! Of course I'm biased because I never played Descent or others but it really is a blast. I love the 6D0F movement which to me is the evolution in FPS after Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament. Lots of characters, stages, extra stages, secrets galore, tough, banging Drum n Bass/Techno/Industrial, extras and whatnot. The only negatives are that Nightdive abandoned the game where it needed patching. I had some crashes and there were issues with the crystals in a few stages.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game owns. I never played the original, so the free-flying FPS gameplay feels fresh to me. The ship has that little bit of momentum that makes movement a joy and artform. It's a fun challenge trying to shoot at the moving enemies and getting behind cover to avoid rocket tank attacks. The level design is very fun! At times the objectives can be a bit arcane (c'mon, bank vault!!!) but overall they hold up quite well. The music is super sick too. In 2025 this game feels fresh and unique.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nobody is playing online (that was the only way to play this back in the day) because the "remaster" is really just the same game from 20years ago setup to run on modern hardware. Don't buy this unless you want to play against weak AI bots that you'll bore of after the first hour of playing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i got thru like 10 mins of the volcano mission, got stuck, quit out, but had a ton of fun just shooting and blowing stuff up within that beginning part. not really sure what the storyline of this game is, some of it makes sense, some of it doesn't. the game isn't bad, i'm just fried and have little-to-no brain capacity to spare to learn anything about this game rn. it's like an 8.7 / 10 or something like that, get it on sale.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun 6DOF shooter from the good ol’ days of the PS1 generation, remastered and polished up by Nightdive for modern computers to work flawlessly. I don’t know if you’ve ever had the misfortune in recent times to purchase a game on Steam designed for Windows 95/98 and try to get it to run on a modern system with Windows 10/11, but usually the games won’t even launch at all without installing some kind of fan-made patch or mod. Honestly, Steam shouldn’t sell those old games without a huge warning…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great DESCENT game alike (you control small space fighter and blast enemies in underground complex), with enough differences that is still unique enjoyable game. And its hard to! ⭐️BETTER GRAPHICS Game graphic are outdated for today standards, but don't worry, there is an TEXTURE UPSCALE MOD, that makes game graphic very sharp and enjoyable to play. Check it out on [url=https://www.moddb.com/mods/4x-ersgan-upscale-of-textures]ModDB page 🧾You can find more info about fixes for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →OMG, this is an amazing game. Flashback from my college days when me and my friends spent HOURS playing this. NOW IT IS BETTER. Plays at 144HZ super smooth. Controls are spot on. I mean the graphics are dated but you will not notice it to much. Super fun to play. Very easy to play but a challenge to master this puppy. I played with a controller, originally; BUT with the mouse and keyboard this game really shines! Posses a definite challenge. If you played this back in the 90's, you will LOVE…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a classic I played on the Nintendo 64. While the updates to this version are much appreciated, it is missing a huge feature: multiplayer bots! The singleplayer of Forsaken is mid at best. But the multiplayer was awesome. I spent countless hours playing splitscreen either with my friends or against the bots. Why they omitted the bots from this version is a total mystery to me. The online multiplayer is dead. Bots would have been fun and let the multiplayer live on in a way.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm still debating whether I prefer this one over Descent. It's a great port, tho. For fans of such classics, it's a must.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No, deathmatch with bots and unlockable drivers like the original. sad!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →F*ckin' fantastic. 90's techno with post apocalyptic flying machines <3 had it on N64 and am glad to have it back in my hot little hands.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best if not the best Descent clones around. Still holds up today with a new look now. 10/10 would die again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Better than Descent series.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i played Forsaken years ago on a Windows XP Machine, with the Classic Disk. I Made it all the way to the end on EASY, I'm not that good to have done it any other way!! I Realized there was a Remastered Version and Got interested in playing again on a Windows 10 Machine. Works and Looks Great!! Very Entertaining!! I enjoy running in all the places the game has to offer!! Thanks to Steam too!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I remember playing Forsaken many moons ago on the playstation and enjoying it. This Remaster has faithfully brought the game onto Steam and the game plays just like it was when first released. The menus, graphics options, sound and gameplay are good so if you want to experience this game again you won't be disappointed. The only criticism I have is that because everything is done very well , the textures are still just the same from years ago which is a shame. To really be considered a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I remember playing the demo of the game that I got from a PC gaming magazine back when it launched, it barely ran on the family computer at the time but I was fascinated by the six-directional gameplay and all the pretty colours. Never got the full game, and I had kind of forgotten about it until I got the remastered version 20-something years later. It plays beautifully with a controller with all current PC filtering, antialiasing, and high resolutions and refresh rates. Brings back the thing…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is a super fun shooter, you are like a space ship and explore these levels, you can can move in basically any direction, six degrees of freedom for the most part, the maps are not confusing despite this and despite the fact this is a 90s shooter, what is confusing is the mission design which made me look up a walkthrough a couple of times also the game has a nasty habit of spawning enemies behind you, however this isnt as frustrating as it sounds because 1) almost every single attack in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn't know this game existed, but I bought it right away because I'm a huge fan of Descent games. I wasn't disappointed, pure 90s awesomeness and Nightdive did a good job remastering it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved this game back on the 64! It's great to play it again!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting from a nostalgia point of view, and for the hilariously bad music--worth it on a deep sale for a few minutes of entertainment. Decent port, but the game and gameplay haven't aged well.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →♥♥♥♥♥♥ maze levels, constantly respawning silent enemies that just teleport into existence right behind you and get in cheap shots. Would rather not play a game where you need guides to tell if the game broke or its just bad design.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just started playing this game seriously and it crashes anytime I change settings. My saves crash upon loading, so progress essentially is lost unless I beat the level to unlock the map. Game is great, but the crashing is the reason for thumbs down. Game needs to be optimized further, and I put the crash log in discussions but no dev has responded. Hope this gets resolved, not purchasing any Nightdive Games until resolved this. I’m not paying for a broken game. Specs should be listed for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →some of my unhinged buddies thought i was playing the roblox forsaken LMAO but fr, this is a descent clone i fw heavy; tells you it wasn't all ♥♥♥♥ from acclaim this, turok, re-volt, and even the first two burnout games :3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game has cheap tricks to piss you off and there's a life system, but it gives you enough lives to survive and there's a save system too. Navigating the mazelike maps is sometimes a bit too much and I think the environment threats can be too mean. The projectile shooting is more hectic than in Descent games, but the constant stream of new enemies out of thin air gets sometimes exhausting. The game looks good in its colored lighting and low poly way. It doesn't try to bore you with a story or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Classic early in FPS genre. I love it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →honestly i kinda like this more than descent
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've never had a problem with motion sickness in FPS games before That said; 3 levels in and I vomited all over my desk 10/10 will keep playing
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I still have the original disc of this game. Sure there is controller support, but the way Forsaken "pulls" you along and self rights you... just go with the flow. The movement of this game is quite unlike anything else. Stay moving, stafing, and enjoying the wicked soundtrack. The more you go with it the more you can feel out the natural path to the levels. If something spawns, you are headed the right way. Nothing spawn for a while? Look for a trigger you missed. Note: the gameplay can be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Forsaken Remastered, developed by Nightdive Studios in collaboration with Probe Entertainment and Iguana Entertainment, is a modern revival of the 1998 cult classic first-person shooter. The remaster brings the original game to contemporary platforms with updated visuals, widescreen support, and smoother performance, while preserving the distinctive gameplay that earned the title its devoted fanbase. Set in a futuristic, post-apocalyptic environment, players pilot advanced hovercrafts through…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great classic next to the Descent series, G-Police, Colony Wars, Freespace and other great games. The remastered version runs perfectly on win10 and win11. The controls work perfect. Great music, fx and graphics. This game is biiiig! You will be in a long time and then there will still be levels to play plus a bunch of bonus levels and funny gimmicks. 100% recommended
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Map Editor with Steam Workshop integration for custom maps when? Pretty please? I require more!... Also fixing some bugs with running the game and staying in lobbies after a round would be cool <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I mean its ight.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I went into this expecting a Descent-like game and instead got something like arcade-shooter Starfox 64 as if inspired by Descent and aiming to becoming a multiplayer battle cult classic. That's not a bad thing since I like all of those games, but I was surprised. For example, rather than finding and keeping weapons over a long campaign, here the ship starts fresh in every level and has to reacquire powerups and weapons as provided. If you die in a level and don't want to load a save, you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A way too buggy remaster of a lovely nostalgia-inducing gem.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're a fan of Descent, you will probably enjoy Forsaken. The remastered graphics look great and the levels are fun to navigate, but the controls can take a little bit getting used to if you haven't played a game like this in a while. Bear in mind, there is no offline multiplayer with bots like there was in N64 version and the online multiplayer seems to be dead for the most part. Overall, if you're mainly looking for a single player experience, Forsaken looks and plays great and I would…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game emulates the feeling of piloting an anti-G vehicle, with 3 dimentions of freedom, in a distopian setting like those you find in anime/movies. I am asking myself why the **** this subgenre didn't get popular.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Those who were born in the 1990s probably came across this title or heard about it. It is a Descent clone, but surely a good one. This remaster respects it perfectly in almost every single way. Level design, audio effects are top notch. Its graphics were considered very good at the time the original game was released.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played this as a child on the N64, Glad to see it on steam, Fun game, hard when I was small but fun to play now grown up
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nah, looking into the politics of this company (Night Dive), I regret my purchase.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is game is wish.com Descent. This is Descent if Temu sold it. This is Descent if you went to fiverr and asked a kid to make a game in a week. This game is what happens when a bunch of script kiddies believe they can make a better 6DoF game, but clearly lack the skills and experience to do it. But they storm forward anyways, god bless their horribly misplaced optimism. It seems for every good game in a genre, there needs to be a bad one. And Forsaken fits that description. For a little…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a lot of fun to experience. Huge, maze-like levels that are fun to explore, plenty of secrets, excelent gameplay and the music in the game is great.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →holy crap, this remaster is amazing... 21 minutes is all the time I have this morning, but it was enough lol
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a great action shooter with full 6DOF movement style. Nightdive have done well to remaster this old game into a working format and the controls are tight which is required as the game is quite challenging (even on lower difficulties). To 100% it you'll certainly need a guide as so many secrets are hidden almost too well, and some levels really get confusing. Although there is a map you can view and pinpoint areas you haven't been to and help navigate which was super helpful when feeling…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nostalgia bait. Runs well. Gameplay loop still holds up. Keyboard and mouse controls work perfectly right out the gate.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You barely have any control of your 'character', or whatever the hell you are, making aiming difficult and dodging fire even harder. A complete mess of a game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →amazing game but my dad forces me to play it with him
