60 of 176 · most liked firstI've never played a game that is more disrespectful of my time than Force of Nature. Don't let my playtime fool you; most of it was spent with the game running as I worked. Further, I have a crippling addiction to this kind of game. It is the epitome of a checklist simulator; you are doing tedious, grindy tasks, solely to check a box so that you can move on. Every single element of the game is tedious. Crafting, combat, progression. A small part of the fun is grinding through an area so that…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is optimized for grind. There is a quest, where you have to touch seven statues. They are spread around two to three maps as far apart as possible. You have to *guess* the sequence in which you touch them, or they all go out. There is no way of figuring it out beforehand. The entire game is made with this concept in mind. You spend hours in base crafting, you spend hours in known areas killing more mobs that you've killed hundreds of times before. Combat is: click on one enemy, your…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So many positive reviews and yet only 3.2% of players got final story achievement. Why so? Maybe that's because this game is so boring that almost no one have enough perserverence to beat it? Maybe that's because there is almost no lore and almost no story? Maybe that's because the combat is slow and sluggish, skills are mostly uselless and the magic cost/profit ratio is way too bad? Or maybe the praised crafting system has too many steps and levels, and involves so many processes/resources for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a good game. I get all my games on sale and $7.99 was a steal. It is cheaper than a McDonald's burger here in California and won't give you a heart attack :D Some people don't like the view and resource gathering. I enjoyed it. It can be repetitive and a bit lonely at times. Perhaps they could add more NPCs next time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I modded it to reduce the mega-grindy resource requirements, and the game was finally in a perfect place and I had a lot of fun. If it weren't for that correction, there's no way I would have kept this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Because of games like this I'm not a fan of steam's binary rating system. I don't want to give this game a thumbs down because I want to encourage indie devs but on the other hand I don't want to give the game a thumbs up because of the sheer number of nitpicks it has going against it. With that being said, Force of Nature 2 is a 3rd person, survival RPG in which you alternate between base building, crafting, farming, feeding animals and hoard killing combat. Most of the systems are rather…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Even more tedious of a grind than normal heavy grindy games. ): It's normally my favorite part of survival games but... this is just too much. Trust me and everyone commenting about the GRIND.. It's actually quite INSANE to stand and wait for two hours and craft an armor for an hour pushing to the boss and another two hours of standing, really fun! not. ): please give the players an option to move forward faster with a multiplier option or something for the love of God! If you're watching a…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While great improvements have been made over the original game in many ways, it still fails in several fundamental areas, the main one being fun. It basically boils down to this: it does not work as an open world survival crafting game, nor does it work as an RPG combat game. It tries to find a middle ground, but does not succeed. The game has been polished up, and been made far less annoying and obnoxious to play when compared to the original, but problems still remain. If you want to expand…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If any game deserved a "Meh" rating, it's this one. It's not a BAD game. But it's not a good game, either. It gets very grindy at points, a lot of the environments overstay their welcome, but it runs well and it isn't ugly. I'm de-rec'ing this game mostly because of that. But also the ending, which was a bit of a surprise and a lot annoying. (Your character, as it turns out, is an idiot...)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sequel to the acclaimed grinding game - Force of Nature. This time much more streamlined and accessible but it has its downsides. + Game is streamlined in good ways - there are ghosts to help you with the grind, its far easier to navigate and know what to do, maps are more linear, crafting is easier and there are some quality of life improvements. + Core gameplay has been enhanced by new features - a magic system, skill tree with active skills, boss fights, more varied enemies and other…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Me and my friend played 47 hours. We just got to the map where the snow biome boss and saved for the night. The next morning we tried to join up like normal and it said our save file was corrupted. We tried to see if loading an older save file would work but none could be found in the save folder. Just due to all those hours being gone just like that, I cannot leave a positive review.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ehhh... a "craft from storage" feature is sorely missing in this game. A game with this much crafting and so many items absolutely MUST have that feature, whether it's available right at the start or unlocked as an upgrade in the mid-to-late game. I don't mind grinding for resources, but running around my base searching for ten different items just to craft a single thing is way too tedious for me. In fact, that's the only reason I stopped playing. I won't leave a negative review, though,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was quite eager to place this with my girlfriend as coop. After being in for over 50 hours it is just a horrid dredge. First major negative is that only 1 person gets to use magic, and 1/2 the tree is dedicated to magic. There is only 1 copy of the magic sphere and it has a static mana pool no mater who uses it. So essentially only 1 user gets any benefits, such as ambient light in dark places. Second Major negative is that you need to craft specific gear to be able to get into…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Starts out decently fun. The find->craft->light combat loop works pretty well. However once the 3rd 'zone' opens up the tedium really starts to establish itself. The absolute worst being the 'lava zone' near the end, which has the most infuriating enemies that would necessitate a character from Diablo, vs this one where you have extremely basic skills with long cooldowns. Also, if you have a game with barebones combat you really don't need boss fights. They're mainly just exercises in…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are 2 reasons I personally do not enjoy this game First one is the combat, its awfully simple, you click the enemy and your character auto attacks while the enemy auto attacks you, you get a handful of abilities throughout the game you can use but they last for a few seconds and have 20 second cooldown, so combat feels very slow and quite boring. You mainly just watch, its not very active. In my 20 hours in the game I have not seen any healing pots or bandages etc, so the only way to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommended only if you look for more of an easy journey and a lot of farming than any challenge. I will let you decide if following are pros or cons for you. The highlights: - Combat is very basic and really gives no room for being skilled or not, just spam food and facetank everything. - Crafting/building takes A LOT of your time. We usually took like hour or two to clear new area we just progressed and then spent hours processing what we farmed into buildinngs/items. - Most of crafting…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I read a bunch of reviews, and here is what I think in my first 13 hours of play. Some top issues: * It is true the game is "grindy", but mostly because of the time it takes to do anything. Scavenging resources, construction, crafting etc. * the game is sort of basic so far, and not all in a bad way. But, maps could have been designed better, but instead take a mostly linear route that all traversible parts are on the same level while hills and mountains are inaccessible, leading to a flat…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →played the first game and loved it. Playing this game its nothing but like 5 times the grind for no reason. I've played the hours in this game and just got flat tired of the unnecessary grinding.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I did have fun and for $15 it's a price point. However The game is too grind heavy. I like to grind things but the amount of things to grind and progress mixed with sitting around laterally watching my screen waiting for something to craft just killed it for me. If it didn't have the waiting and so much grinding it would be good but can't recommend because its just draining.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR: I would not recommend this game or attempting to spend any time on it when there are games with the same/similar mechanics but far more fun than this boring Game (Example, Core Keeper). I played this game so you wouldn't have to. It's as if its a survival RPG but uses immense crafting to extend its abysmal plot line and simulate progression. If you enjoy craft grinding then this is game for you. Combat is poor. Having to right click rather than swing at a direction makes you have click…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →V Rising + Valheim + Palia Literally so addicting, I played for 11 hours straight on my first sitting. Also the reason I felt the need to leave a review is because of just how well the music is done. I will ruin the magic for you if you read the way it works: Not the music itself (which is incredible) but the system that makes music kick in. It's the same system as old minecraft's music where music doesn't always play but when it randomly kicks in and plays, it feels so good. But I noticed…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would recommend the game but with a lot of reservations, The game is improved from the Force of Nature 1 in many ways but it still requires a huge amount of grinding. The ideas for crafting various implements is good but the demand on resources means having to go out regularly only to fetch stuff. Also having to grow food for your farm animals and waiting for them to produce is long and discouraging. Then you get to the story which is interesting for sure. The maps are varied and have…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great for it's price point, a much more casual crafty experience than most games in this genre. Playing solo can get a bit tedious until you start unlocking extra Ghosts. Very much like V-rising, once you get the hang of it, it's fairly simple. Highly enjoyable co-op but could definitely use some customization sliders for world generation. A couple fun little puzzles so far and lots of mob bashing, teleporting makes the whole system fairly efficient.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Much better than the first game due to the progression leveling. This is a very, very grindy game and nice to play when you just want to relax and mindlessly kill and craft things or do some multitasking. I spent more time crafting things than fighting/exploring, which I prefer anyway. Some of the boss fights get a little tricky if you aren't prepared but not impossible to defeat.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Highly recommended especially for co-op

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool game! It's a grinding game in which you forage and gather materials from pretty much anything as you can destroy most of the stuff. By collecting materials to build crafting stations and discover recipes, you fight enemies and progress the story. The progression is kinda slow, but rewarding as at some point you can automate some of the crafting. The combat is dull. Hit and run strategy works half of the time with melee weapons as the mob range vary from one attack to the next. Stamina…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thank you to the developer A.Y.std and Publisher Crytivo for providing a fun game for me to escape, craft and explore. My Steam rating: Very positive One of the few things you can’t find among the hundreds if not thousands of survival games on steam is a finished game(We are finally starting to see some 1.0 releases). Well, good news we have one and better news it’s pretty good. Force of Nature 2 Ghost keeper is exactly what I look for in the genre: It’s complete, solid exploration,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun game to play when you just want to zone out on. took me a little time to see you can have many ghost work for you. also if i knew i could respawn a zone of monsters it would of made my life a bit easier at the start. if you like crafting and survival game you will like this one. only thing that would make it better if they had some DLC to add on more game play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game isnt bad. I just hate the combat on Force of Nature 1 and 2. They are both just food spammers. Combat all comes down to spamming food items to heal you while fighting. Keep lots and lots of food.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Force of Nature 2: Ghost Keeper, developed by A.Y.std and published by Crytivo, is an ambitious and methodical blend of survival, sandbox, crafting, RPG, and light action elements. Building on the foundation of its predecessor, this sequel takes a more refined and expansive approach, inviting players into a procedurally generated world steeped in ancient magic and mysterious forces. Set in a fantastical realm torn apart by the shattering of a powerful artifact known as the Force of Nature, the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NOT FUN We bought this during the sale thank god so we got two for the price of one. I wanted a new game to play with my spouse. First Character creation YAWN TRYING TO FIGURE OUT COOP took half an hour to figure what sequence to push buttons to make it work' game play is very tedious and boring combat is unbalanced just massive swarms of things attacking and dying rather fast so its not interesting just dumb crafting very dumb oh and you have to hold the space bar or turn on labels and when…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game for me and my wife, after discovering the first one in my library. Best purchase I've made on steam. It was easy to get the hang of it for her, and I giggled like a kid when she ran around chasing animals shouting "I'm gon' get you!" with a club. Thank you. We had a blast and we'll have a lot more like this!

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I admit that I haven't played this game for very long, but I just don't have a desire to play it further. My big issue is how much of a grind this is. I wouldn't mind the grind if it had some other interesting features, but I'm just not impressed with the environment or the combat. Combat in this game is basically automated. You click on a target and your character bashes them until they are dead. You can get better weapons and improve your combat skills, but there's not much you can do in…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →been playing this game with my girlfriend, was fun at first but the grind got insane real fast. When I say insane I mean very insane. Two hours of crafting just to get a simple leather armor. The game will always find a way to block your progress by asking you to get a specific item and to get the item you need another item and to get that you need... Sad to say that this is one of the rare game I will never finish.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoy the 1st map of this game, but by the time I got to map #2 (Desert Canyon/Valleys) it's become such a boring slog of a chore it's unreal. It's top-down ala Diablo in terms of camera & controls, but the character you play is so painfully basic and slow and weak, it really drags the game pace to a painful crawl. Imagine packs of 5-10 mobs coming at you and you have the following abilities: 1. Reduce damage taken for 3-4 sec on a 20+ sec CD 2. Next attack is a crit (1.5 damage…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game feels very barebones to me, at least from what I got from these few hours I've played. The combat is clicking to auto attack targets, the storage boxes don't allow crafting using their contents, and having stamina which runs out and stops you from attacking is just annoying. The first zone where I am has a lot of re-spawning goblins, foxes, boars and a few lone wolves as the aggressive mobs, and it's a bit 'meh'. especially the way they'll swarm and follow if you move through their…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would say the game is okay, I don't like how slow the stamina comes back and it is needed for both gathering and fighting so you sit and waste time or eat a lot of apples hoping to be able to do gather or fight more. I also do not like the look from above I would rather be able to scan the area in front of me. The crafting aspect is very involved and on some things too involved, needing embers to make coal and then needing the coal and more embers to make bars is a lot, add in the time it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I feel like this game is for pensioners with low expectations. It's just... not fun. The first one wasn't great either, but they totally misplaced their efforts on this sequel and turned it into a dull inventory management sandbox builder, rather than a proper survival game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Aside for mind numbingly boring combat- It's just another grindy crafting simulator. Can't recommend it. Go play Tribes of Midgard instead, it does everything this does, but better.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is fine at first but then it turns into a grindfest that is just plain miserable and most of the things in the game makes no sense in the slightest no matter how you look at it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gathering and crafting, just like a million other games. There is very little in the way of story progression. Too much running around and not enough things to keep the game interesting. Oh yeah, craft 10000000 rope, then, craft twice as much, you'll need it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lots of crafting and building. You can build your home any way you like, I have rebuilt my house several times because I like to lay out floor plans. Fighting to monsters is fairly easy to, which is great for me. There is a lot to do when it comes to crafting and building so it is more fun to play with someone. I really enjoy the story line as well. If you have ever played to original FoN that has practically no story, this game is very story rich and explains a lot. I'm really enjoying play,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I did play the first game, and the change is vast here. I would say "Take a look at my review of the first game, and then change all the cons to pros", but I think you will not do that. So to cut it short, if you have played the first game and kind of liked it, or maybe just a little bit, then this game might, and I would even say it will turn your opinion around. If you have not played the game, then it's a treat, a neat, chill out game, where you can build, battle and explore, it's fun, but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great if you like very grindy games and you're in the mood for a second monitor type game. Certainly a vast improvement over the first game. Enjoyed: - Building and creating your base is satisfying - Bosses were the one good thing about combat since each one had varied mechanics Disliked: - Combat is monotonous with every biome having more or less the same type of enemy - Range, Melee and Fast - More on the combat, the game is really easy even with "Stronger Enemies" game mode, just don't let…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game kicks off with the classic survival mechanics—chopping, mining, and whacking your way through the early hours. At first, the toonsy style had me thinking I’d give it 10 minutes tops. But then, as a blizzard snowed me in, I decided to push forward. By the time I hit level 3, things started to shift. The world opened up, the gameplay began to make more sense, and the survival grind started to feel purposeful. Suddenly, the day-to-day tasks had meaning, and I found myself invested in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An excellent time sinker A game about crafting the next thing and exploring. One of those games where you start with nothing and keep improving until you can do everything and kill everyone without even thinking. None of the systems of this game are particularly deep but all of them are fun or at least serviceable . Combat e probably the most barebones, so if your are looking for an ARPG this is not it. The only caveat i would mentio is that this game drags. Some of the maps have…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is fun, but in its current state it is way too grindy. I was excited to play, but after a few hours of doing the same thing over and over, and visiting the same places over and over, i got so bored. Which sucks because the beginning is pretty fun. The game itself looks nice too, the environments are nice to look at, if a little boring for a fantasy world. I won't be too harsh though since I think its a solo dev, or at least a small team. Overall I'd give it a 6/10 , it's a cool…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is neither crafting nor survival. I am big fan of those genres. its very slow and incredibly grindy. Guide is almost absent, as if someone was working on tutorial and dropped at some point. the worst part about this very "crafting" game is that you are only able to start builing your house after 13 h of grind. and even then it feels as a tiresome chore, as there is no automation for most mundae tasks such as getting water for plants.... there are no quests as you explore,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A survival game with godly grinding. Easily one of my favorite survival/crafting/base building games. Combat could be better but the sheer progression of your character and the world you build up to is absolutely addicting. When I and others mention GRINDING oh trust us we ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mean it, there isn't a milisecond in this game where you should be standing still doing nothing. Took about 60 hours to pass fully.
