There was a team working on the game, that quit due to being underpaid. And because of that, it have now been years since the last update. The progression is a mess, lots of bugs and missing QoL. Such a shame, if only the main dev have common sense.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Used to love this game till the dev decided to stop paying his people and gave up on the game because "making multiplayer too hard". Just fled from the internet after that. ♥♥♥♥ you Hopfrog.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Developers did not follow roadmap. It is an abandoned game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This Game is Abandonware, Despite the Road map in the game saying it will have Multiplayer there is none as the Studio Fell apart due to Internal Drama Amongst the Devs and the Creator. Bugs, Lag and Progression imbalance lead to a Experience that that makes one feel like they are Sisyphus as One step of upgrading will will take you ten steps back Due to resource deficit and Painfully slow crafting time and smelting problems, Also makes one apprehensive on clicking upgrades as explained before…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really tried to like Forager, but the way the dev lied to everyone and abandoned this game will forever leave a bad taste.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandonware, lead dev left the project unfinished with no word on steam. If you do buy expect fps stutters, game breaking crashes, and a generally unpolished game. Onto the actual substance of the gameplay itself in it's current state. The main gameplay loop is farming materials to unlock islands and fighting bosses, each one increasing the power and tools available to the player, and the ability to semi automize the production of some resources. The a bit of the mid game is a bit of a slog,…

unlabelledView post →Game is fun. But the dev has abandoned it after false promises, blaming the people that helped him for the mistakes he did and basically removed all credit to those people that helped him develop the game. Additionally he underpaid the devs that helped him while they still did and was generally extremely rude to them too! So don't expect and updates, there will be none

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute and full of satifying sounds and animations. Can't say anything more about the good parts, though. What's so bad about this game? Well, the biggest offender is the lack of optimisation. You'll start noticing it when you get to the mid-to-late game, where you have a lot of structures, in a game about building a lot of structures. The game is also very grindy. I know I signed up for grind the moment I booted a base building game with resources and a skill tree system, but it actually…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While I did get into this game to the point of 100% completion, I cannot recommend others play it to the same extent. Given the state this game was left in when development concluded, there ends up being a lot of little things that make the experience flow rather clunkily. It does manifest very glaringly. When you face issues like: - Not being able to reorganize your hotbar beyond enabling/disabling tools - Items in the inventory swapping over to the next in grid when trying to use them…

It is a cozy crafting-gathering game, with main goal of getting satisfaction from progression, heavily inspired by Forager! Check out out first trailer! #cozygames #indiegame #indiedev #steam #pixelart
unlabelledView post →I'd mostly stay away because of the story BEHIND the game's development, but I got it before learning that unfortunately. That being said - game itself is actually pretty fun and addicting until the end game, where it just falls apart so fast and becomes a grind. There are also still plenty of bugs and development is likely dead forever - if you really wanna try it get it on sale I suppose.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent game ruined by a dev with a huge ego. Such a shame that we will never see multiplayer or the roadmap's content, ever.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game itself would be amazing, but it was abandoned by the dev a long time ago. Still a lot of fun, but it's important to be aware of that before purchasing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good and fun game but unfortunately the dev is evil.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is okay but so tiresome. There was many many years ago some publisher and developer drama and game stop get updates and now game is very outdated and not fun play.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After several years and over 776 hours I have finally 100%ed Forager. I wholeheartedly recommend this game, the rest will be some light reminiscence. I first began playing this game a long time ago, on my Switch (I think). At some point I got it on my tablet and, eventually, a computer. I used to play it a ton and would AFK every night, causing my high playtime, but I never fully finished it. This was due to a lack of dedication. It took me around seven and a half hours once I set to doing it,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While I enjoyed the game, it's a sad tale with the developer and the game is broken, mid-late game has no optimization and even before that the game wont pass 40 fps and usually it stays around 34 for reference my pc can run GTAV RDR2 and Satisfactory at max settings perfectly fine. there's nothing super special about this, while charming the late game content makes the game really difficult to do anything with and had I be any less commited then I am I would have promptly left the game, I have…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was a ready good game when it was first released, however, the road map was abandoned and the dev just went MIA so don't buy this game expecting a finish product. Overall, gameplay was still entertaining to last me a few weeks. BTW, the comics in the game indicating that it was a solo project is not real, don't believe what he stated.

A few hours later I’m collecting rocks, mining everything in sight and somehow still telling myself “I’ll stop after this one upgrade.” Really simple but ridiculously addictive. There’s always something to unlock or upgrade, so it’s very easy to lose track of time. Would recommend if you like games where you can turn your brain off and just grind.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It’s the kind of game you boot up to relax, only to end up busy with one little thing after another. It’s simple, but oddly hard to stop playing.

First of all, the game is REALLY fun, the bouncy and fun pixel art style is really pleasing and the gameplay is (most of the time) thought out and well done. Plus, the music brings the experience to a next level, it just blends right in, its perfect for this game! On the other hand - and I'll address the elephant in the room, soon - some of this whole '56 hours' has just been me sleeping irl and keeping my game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish I could recommend this game because it plays rather nicely but the game has SO MUCH issues. - The most ass humor Ive ever seen. Its like the most Reddit-core humor with snarky ironic remarks. Ive never cringed and hated NPC monologue as much - Crafting circle makes no sense. It loops from metals to bars, gems and bars to fancier bars, bars into components and these components magically turn into bars again???? - Combat is mind numbingly easy as long as you have food hotbar'd - The only…

unlabelledView post →Honestly the game is just okay. I should've read the reviews before buying this game but I saw that discount and just decided to impulse buy it on the spot. The concept is good but it just feels so unfinished. The best way to describe it is that it feels like someone made this for a school project. Which if it was, then its pretty impressive for a school project but as an actual game being sold on steam for $20, it is 100% not worth it. I bought it for $6 and I still feel like that was too…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ended up buying and playing the game "Forager" tonight and it was just what I was looking for as a chill way to launch a 3 day weekend B) I just love Number Go Up games so much LOL
unlabelledView post →Terrible game and NOT worth more than $5. I only played it because I was too bored and tired and wanted something mindless, and had gotten this for free from a bundle. Even with those criteria, the game is terrible. It's an idle clicker in disguise, NOT a survival crafting game: Marketing and Steam tags might trick you into thinking it’s the next Terraria or Stardew Valley, but it’s literally just a disguised incremental/cookie-clicker game. The grind is endlessly shallow: Once the initial…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →love being loaded into a main menu that proudly displays a roadmap that hasn't been touched in 6 years. an interesting game at its core, abandoned in a state that i wouldn't recommend
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is what an incremental game needs to be. Yes it has an "end" where upgrades don't matter as much anymore, so any work is just adding a grenade to a mass driver from space, but that's just it. You can go to rediculous levels and dominate the world you're given. I got to lvl 100 in that dungeon to mark it as completed. 30 hours to complete this fun, incremental, top down "fps", terraria x muck, story, puzzle game. It's worth it as it's satisfying.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a very fun game, but be aware the maker seems to hate his players? Or himself? There is at least one character that's a stand-in for the creator who will appear and ask your character questions that, even if answered correctly, are wrong and result in said creator character abusing you as a player. It's very jarring and off-putting and the only conclusion I was able to reach from it is that the creator really does hate his players on some level. It's all very confusing and strange for such…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Open the game for a quick 30 min session and end it, 8 hours later, at 4 am... worth it. Great game but has a few bugs here and there (eg. the droids get stuck on the fishing traps when they try to harvest them, they do get unstuck when you get a certain distance away from the traps. But its still annoying). Other than that, the game is fantastic. 9/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →cool game realy, but sadly we good lied by dev.. promised coop and never add, dev left game.

unlabelledView post →As much as I'd love to recommend this, I just can't. I've played this game for over 50 hours, and thoroughly enjoyed them. The problem lies within the fact that this is no doubt an abandoned game, just because implementing multiplayer was "too hard" for the developer. The game has potential, and a lot of it, but sadly it will never live up to what it was supposed to be - a fun, multiplayer game that you could play with all of your friends. The game has a modding community, but I haven't…

unlabelledView post →Yeah... would be a great game... but just having 40fps kinda ruins it. PLS DEV FIX. It's a shame really.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is really good I always go back to it every while but wish the creator wasn't an probletmatic jerk.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun and addictive crafting game with a satisfying grind and great progression. Watching your island grow and automating everything feels awesome. I really wish it had multiplayer and more content. Still a great pick if you love chill crafting games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Also, p sure I manifested playing Out and About (an incredibly cute foraging game that I'm already obsessed with) by choosing to wear my Forager cardigan by Knock Thrice for the showcase 💃🏼
unlabelledView post →Haven't watched the big gaming thing, but I've seen the "solo dev game made by 10 people" sentence thrown around, and it's really funny how this seems to be a universal constant. Reminds me of when the Forager guy had planned to do a "how I solo dev'd my game" GDC talk, lol
unlabelledView post →Abandon Ware. Severe issues with lag end game even on high end machines. I found I could reduce lag by emptying my inventory but the fuller my inventory was the more lag I experienced. Also lots of in menu advertising about upcoming updates that never came to pass, least the dev could do is remove all that. Luckily got this game on extreme discount but still wouldn't recommend it, 100% the achievements out of spite.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"idle game that you want to actively keep playing" in the description so is an accurate way to describe it. Feels like a clicker game that happens to have an actual gameplay It is pretty addicting. But is it actually good? I found the beginning to be slow and boring, middle fun, and towards the end slow and grindy. Numbers go up. Brains goes brrr. Theres no story, you just go where you want, and progress at your own rate You purchase islands , get permanent upgrades (more lives, bigger…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Eh, i tried a second playthrough recently, honestly, it's not a very well balanced game. For one, the level scaling is insane later on, like, it takes me over 100k exp to level up, and i'm getting 5-15 xp per mine/kill. You can make scrolls which give tons of experience but then that kinda defeats the whole purpose of level ups? Why should scrolls be almost the exclusive way to level up? xp should scale up as you progress but it doesn't really... The easiest way to get money is to just…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just updated from 2.0.4 to the latest version. i was unaware that linux version was not updating. the game is now unplayable. the change in how you use things in your inventory makes eating or using anything in your inventory to much of a hassle for the game to be playable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want more games like Forager, Coffee Talk, Ultrakill, etc. Things that provide a unique experience. Slay The Spire 2 is an great game but it's nothing groundbreaking. If you like similar games it's just more of the same with some new modes effectively. Every deck builder feels the same to me.
