negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The idea behind FlatOut 4: Total Insanity is the same as its predecessors: a mix of full-speed races and mini-games where you have to perform spectacular stunts with your driver. The design sounds simple and it actually is. It is therefore the interpretation of those simple aspects that made the original FlatOut a fun game. Watch a snippet of gameplay here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJdX7zcBnpk Gamers who have already played one of the earlier parts know what to expect from this series:…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They actually TOOK OUT steering wheel compatibility. It's insane, but Flatout 1 and 2 have more modern features than any of the other releases. Glad I got this game for like a dollar.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →FlatOut 1-2 > 3-4
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, it's a slight improvement since Flatout 3 for sure, but the gameplay feels so dull. I don't know why, but the physics are not so good anymore. For example, you can see the damage, but you don't feel the damage. You ram into someone, but you don't feel the ram and vice versa. This should be a demolition race, but it's mostly driving a car in hollow areas with random cars next to you. The satisfaction when you driving a car and all of a sudden you see Frank Malcov randomly stucked at a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let's get it straight - this game is at least 1-2 quality levels lower than FlatOut2 - even when everything works. Visually, it looks like most PS4 games. Some textures were handdrawn in (probably) substance painter, while others are photo-based materials. So nature environments (trees, rocks, and ground) look much closer to 'realism', while cars and other props around the track look very comic-booky. It's pretty common in eight generations' games and imo pretty generic. Not much to complain…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Seeing the reviews you would be forgiven for thinking this will not be a fun ride but I'm happy to say this definitely is. Flatout 4 does have similarities to Flatout Ultimate Carnage (such a great arcade racer) and while this isn't F.U.C. 2017 it still retains enough of the Flatout flavour many arcade racers, including myself, enjoy. Career mode, stunts, quick race and multiplayer are all here. Career mode has 3 different competition levels and classes of vehicles to unlock. Racing earns…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've spent my whole life playing racing games, and somehow, this comes out as arguably the worst, even worse than the likes of Super Street or TD Solar Crown -Who the hell approved the base designs? every single character is a default store asset reprinted with their "defining characteristic" as the only difference -The Car vs Car combat, something a game themed around that should be good with, feels like a feather vs bowling ball situation, even the punchbug feels weighty when you try to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I know people weren't so hot on the original game but FlatOut 4's official VR version feels incredible to play, even in early access. Need to get better footage capture next time but an hour just flew by store.steampowered.com/app/3844750/...
unlabelledView post →FlatOut 4: Total Insanity is a fun arcade racing game packed with chaos and destruction. Despite its mixed reviews, I genuinely had a great time playing it with friends. The racing can be a bit tricky at times, but the over-the-top crashes and mini-games keep it entertaining. It may not be the best in the series, but it’s still a solid and enjoyable experience. 7/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It would have been an OK game if it weren't for the atrocious physics. There is no weight to cars, they feel like toys and any bump on the ground can send them flying as if the game ran at half gravity or something. They also essentially rehashes the old formula without adding anything new. It's not as horrible as Flatout 3 for sure but it feels like a cheap mobile game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not nearly as good as FlatOut Ultimate Carnage still deliver some enjoyable moments with your grandpa. Driving feels a bit sloppy and sometimes it's hard to control vehicle in different conditions so prepare for spinning like crazy. Physics a bit awkard as sometimes you just drive through pebbles without much affecting your car, just to being launched into the air like a carton box the next moment. There's definitely something wrong with the physics and you will see that a lot while playing so…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its fine way better than the third game but nowhere as good as the first second and ultimate carnige
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very frustrating makes me want to play the old games instead and that's not a good thing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Believe 60 mins of your gameplay can give you more fun than completion of all recently relased Need for Speeds combined with all their season passes. No pinky-winky music, only rock-n-roll and metal what is awesome! No weetsy-meetsy skins and colours, only a pure harsh metalic paints for cars. Nothing seems to be undestructible Tires flying everywhere, road is buring pale Destruction like with frostbite's games Join the derby in the pit mate Only costs few bucks on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Christmas sale!…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What is wrong with the physics in this game? Totally unlike the previous Flatout games. Small bumps send you flying. I just gave this game a second chance to see if maybe it grows on me this time. Nope. Failed to grow on me at all. The physics is the ultimate deal breaker.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mechanically, it's barely passable, play Flatout 2 or UC instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WHAT DID THEY DO TO MY GOATED SERIES ????
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not horrible, although if you want to play a flatout game just play 1 or 2 and avoid 3 at ALL costs
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to like this game, it's a great franchise. But I can't. The game play is just aggravating. It is WAY too easy to spin our or flip over from even the smallest bump and the more you upgrade your car, the easier it is to go out of control. It looks like you can make some adjustments in the settings I tried without much luck. There are some levels where you can't even see where you are going. It is either too dark or there are too many things flying around on the screen to make any…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well its a racing game alright, its just not FlatOut. Instead of dynamic crash physics, somewhat realistic driving and competative ai we got cars that emulate what it feels like driving bumber carts on ice and butter with ai sharing a combined 0,2 braincells. I am only giving it a possitive review because of how funny the physics are.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible multiplayer, it just doesn't work - I paid 4 other people to fake being my friends and at least 1 person always had issues, like being completely unable to move - or they didn't even load into the game. Only race and derby modes are available in multiplayer, the most fun gamemodes are local coop only. Literally impossible to play in multiplayer and the controls are too outdated to even try singleplayer mode.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely awful game. Terrible driving mechanics (car feels like it's on ice 24/7) The AI are so overly aggressive with no way to turn it down and hitting them is like hitting a 10 foot brick wall with a blowup toy, whereas them hitting you is like getting hit by a freight train. Regret buying it. Worst game they've ever released. Oh not to mention the career mode is so horrible when it comes to giving you money that it's not even worth it. Do not buy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This feels like a very bad FlatOut 2 clone.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So you want to play another FlatOut? Do you remember how to play it from FO/FO2/FOUC? Good. Now forget everything, you won't need it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →still better than Flatout 3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well... well.... well......... Flatout 4 Total Insanity.... no matter how it look at it, this is a good game. However, do not compare it with Flatout 2... no no no..... this game is fun as a flatout game and yes, you will have some stupid moments in this game.... but it still missed the smoothness of flatout 2. The physics are nothing to write home about but overall, it is good. Recommended. P.S. - It is miles better than the atrocious Flatout 3 and yes, the physics and crash model of this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think the sentence that would describe the acquisition of this 'game' best is that you didn't buy a game, you got yourself a day job. Somehow a game that's supposed to offer dumb hight speed derby fun gives you the exact opposite. The devs of this thing must have a doctorate in removal of fun. The tracks are treacherous and unforgiving, the cars are boring. Fun is punished, you have to drive cleanly and precisely to win anything, no insanity allowed. If not, you will be sabotaged in…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After playing FlatOut 2: Ultimate Carnage with a friend on party mode, we wanted to search for something similar on Steam that might be more modern. We saw this and took a chance; a mistake that we at least went half on. If you are looking for something like UC or FlatOut 2, this is not it. Physics and party mode are horrible, save your money.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →what the hell have they done to Flatout....my introduction was 2, that i loved to play with an awesome soundtrack, then I played Ultimate Carnage, of which was an improvement on 2 with more drivers and vehicles but the soundtrack wasn't as good, then installed 3, started then quit straight away, now 4: while it seems decent with graphics and the mechanics, yet weird the way the cars bounce around, but while playing I came across weapons or something, WTF, trying to race the track and all sorts…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mixed review for this game. Much better sequel than the abortion that came before it. But for every positive is a little negative. Graphics are good but pop in is noticeable and anti aliasing is either poor or doesn't work. Physics are a bit janky they work fine when in heavier vehicles but in anything else a small piece of debris can send you barrel rolling 50 foot in the air. Which is also annoying because to fill the nitro meter you need to destroy parts of the scenery so you are going to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a disappointment. Instead of letting the FlatOut name die after a miserable third entry, they just had to try one more time. The game itself isn't miserable, I suppose. The graphics are on par for 2017, which is good. But the major issue comes with the gameplay. The cars perform like a strange combination of FlatOut 3 and Wreckfest, which isn't a great combination. The maps are alright, but it isn't good enough to warrant a fourth entry to the FlatOut franchise. It's clear that the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The most boring Flatout yet. But it's also not made by Bugbear, so that explains a lot.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite bad, terrible physics bad car and character designs. OST is allright. Not the same devs as 1,2 and Ultimate Carnage so hard torch to carry. Beats Flatout 3 though.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →5.5/10 A bit mediocre, but still somehow enjoyable game, despite it's serious flaws. Without these flaws, I would probably rate it 7/10. But devs never fixed these flaws. Worse than FlatOut 1, 2, Ultimate Carnage as well as it's clones; Wreckfest and Trail Out, but better than terrible FlatOut 3. Additional info: this game was NOT made by original creators of FlatOut 1/2/UC/Wreckfest. Pros: + Core features of the previous FlatOut titles are still there (racing, stunts, deatmatch,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Car goes brrr. 📝 Main Pros and Cons: 🟩 Pros: + Graphics hold up surprisingly well + Variety of tracks and game modes + Soundtrack is filled with rock and metal, if that’s your thing 🟥 Cons: - Subpar, floaty physics - 3 lap races feel too long early on - Cars feel like weightless and bounce around like no tomorrow - AI is crazy aggressive and unreasonably fast, with no options to reduce their difficulty Chaos Ensured Flatout 4 (F4) holds up well considering its age, visually at…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun racing game with good graphics. Physics can be a bit silly sometimes though. Does it deserve the flatout name? I'd say no, it feels too different from the original games developed by Bugbear. It's still a fun racing game nonetheless.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not quite FlatOut 2, but not nearly as bad as the reception indicates. FlatOut 4 tries to replicate the second installment in many ways, such as the car classes, high speeds, absurdly powerful nitro, and interesting terrain elevation. In these aspects it's quite successful. The car physics also feel generally nice, loose, and arcadey, much like the game that inspired it. The issue here is that it doesn't quite reach the highs that FlatOut 2 is known for, and coupled with some new issues such…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →FlatOut 4 tries to revive the chaos of the old games but ends up feeling unfinished. Bad physics, repetitive tracks, weak career mode, collisions that lack impact, and adisappointing soundtrack. Is it a fun game? In my opinion, kind of. But in its current state, I can’t recommend it, mainly due to poor handling and overall lack of polish.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The negative reviews of this game are a psyop by Big Steam to trick you into thinking this game is bad Yes, this game is not as good as its predecessor, FlatOut 2, However, from the little time I've spent playing this game, I have enjoyed it a near equal amount. CONTROLS - I'm a casual racing game player who likes playing more arcade-like racing experiences, so I'm not the most experienced person to be talking about how a racing game handles. From what little I know though, this game controls…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is awful, and has nothing to do with the original games beyond its name and a half assed attempt to feign the gameplay and physics. The handling feels overly slippery and most cars will randomly flip over for no reason, and the collisions feel like blocks of butters sliding against each other rather than the originals more noticeable crunchier impacts. The damage models look comically bad, and dont seem to be impacted by locational damage. The graphics are insanely blurry and almost…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The second worst FlatOut game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game its ass
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Coming to the FlatOut series fresh, without bias or nostalgia, never even having heard of it until a couple days ago, I believe 4 is the best one. It's basically the same formula as the excellent 2/Ultimate Carnage (same game but one was PS2 version and other Xbox 360), but just bigger and better. More chaotic, more mayhem. You do all sorts of flips and your car gets smashed, with destruction of vehicles and environment like no other racing series! You can even lose races just by blowing up.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do not recomend this game. Feels really cheap when you play it. OST dosent match prevoius enteries. After 6 minutes i just turned it off. Cars look bad, drives bad compared to 2 and 1. 3/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't waste your time, after the first two games in the series, this one is complete rubbish. I tried to give it a chance, but it's all in vain. It's getting worse as soon as you move higher than derby league. Physics and handling are the worst I've ever seen in racing games. Maybe in derby it's just not that obvious. Cars can jump several meters in the air just because of the smallest obstacle on the road, sometimes even invisible. Brakes don't exist. Damage physics is not even close to what…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game almost had it, almost!! Love the crazy random locations for tracks, reminds me a lot of driving through random neighborhoods and cities like in flatou 2 and UC. Wacky out of place vehicles? Sure, why not? But the only thing hiding this back for me is the physics. It is way to easy to spin out on absolutely anything and everything. Like your car is filled with helium and the weight of your car is just barely keeping your wheels on the ground. And of course the AI has no problem dealing…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had a blast! Easy to pickup and start playing. Good soundtrack. Runs well on deck. Only downside is the physics. You're gonna get flung in the air from unexpected things. Sometimes its not even a thing at all, you'll just get flung in the air for no reason. Good times.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Better than 3, far from reaching 2 or ultimate carnage. At least this one is playable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The mechanics are absolutely awful, the car randomly flies off of the track, and it often fails to steer or brake. Also, there is not that much diversity in the tracks you're racing on. Too bad, the graphics are quite nice though.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's all fun and dandy untill you realize cars juso into the air on their own with seemingly no geometry to cause the thing. Thoroughly enjoyed what I could bear across repetitive tracks and challenges.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Game dont work online anymore, so there is NO MULTIPLYER, NO LAN and NOT "Many Players". Dont buy the game ! Worse than Flatout1 , which is much better,
