I replayed it because nostalgia. But I highly recommend it to anyone who likes arcadey racing games and a taste for smashing other peoples property. Was good.

unlabelledView post →Overall: 7.5/10 Story: Just like the first game, this one doesn't have a narrative/story. However, rather than the campaign being divided into three quality rankings (that of course being Bronze, Silver, and Gold Leagues), the career mode here is instead sorted into car classes: Derby, Race, and Street. I personally prefer this over the first game because not only does it give the gameplay more variety thanks to the different types of vehicles, but also progressing from beat-up junkyard…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →FlatOut 2 - remains one of the best arcade racing games of its time. Its energetic soundtrack, realistic destruction, and pure excitement make it a true classic. It's perfect for a few relaxing evenings of play
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best wrecking and racing game for all the experienced racists.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Imma be honest here it's a miracle that I found this game on steam here, why? because I had this game on CD back then and that CD is corrupted now. But this game right here will be my best childhood game ever that I used to wreck every lobbies. Got me emotional over here 😅 But I will start all over again and I don't regret a bit. Anyway if you found this gem then don't hesitate to click on buy button, it's just priceless Thanks for reading 💕
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great arcade racer, not just pure nostalgia (Review after 100%, took me 20 hours. No gamebreaking bugs or crashes were encountered) Almost 20 years ago I played this game on release and brought it up with my friends. Quickly it was a go-to at our LAN parties. Hours of fun were spent racing against and crashing into each other. After all this time I wanted to remember those long weekends and experience the game again. The driving model Racing is kept pretty casual. The driving model is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely fun gameplay, legendary physics and goated soundtrack, one of my favorite games since 2009.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thank you for reviving the Legand dairy game ! My son and used to play...now hes an aldult and i told him
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The pure juice from the 2000s, just legit arcade racing pure fun, and now with steam achievements! The game has received all the updates to run on modern systems, and it looks so good that the visuals are very close to the excellent Flatout Ultimate Carnage. Play NOW!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My favorite racing game of all time. The destruction, physics, soundtrack, and funny ragdolls never gets old.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I recommend FlatOut 2. While not an expert on racing games, I rediscovered a great appreciation for the genre in the last 1 year or so. I remember playing racing games on PS2 and some of my favs were Midnight Club 3, NFS Most Wanted and Burnout 3. To be honest, I never heard of FlatOut back then. The problem is: none of my fav racing games from that era are still on sale nowadays, and while everyone knows where to get their abandonwares, it's quite convenient to buy and play a game directly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hands down the greatest car game in history, next to NFS MW black edition.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still holds up great. Throwback to days long gone when I was playing FlatOut 2 with my childhood friend - total carnage, Megadeth blasting from speakers, yelling something about setting goverment buildings on fire. I still have his CD at my place :D Very few games can conjure feelings and memories this pleasant in me, FO2 is one of them.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow, never would I imagine that this game gets achievements and trading cards. Was a joy to play when I was a kid and is still fun 15 years later as a relaxing wreckfest after work. xD
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I recommend it. Played for 3 hours, now I want to smash the table just like I was smashed in the derby. Developers, remove Frank Malkov, the crazy idiot smashes everyone at a speed of 240 km/h
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Flatout 1 - 6/10 Flatout 2 - 10/10 Flatout UC - 8/10 Flatout 3 - 0/10 Flatout 4 - 4/10 If you want the best Flatout experience, i'll recommend you to stick with Flatout 2 which is simply a masterpiece in demolition race.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I actually love the Flatout series but I'm going to give this a low rating for one very specific and important reason: Splitscreen multiplayer. Why the developers did such a fantastic job of updating the game for modern hardware and then went OUT OF THEIR WAY to rip out the ability to play it with a friend on the couch like in the old days is mystifyingly mean spirited. How much money can their realistically be in depriving a tiny handful of people that want to sit on a couch with a friend…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was truly ahead of its time, its such a shame that this game didn't recieve much attention. definitely worth the play. forget about Sim Racing, THIS! IS WHAT ACTUALLY FUN MEANS.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am aware that this will be an unpopular opinion - I know this game is very well beloved by the fans. But I do not have nostalgic filter on this game - I only played this game recently and I think it has a lot of deep problems, that might be overlooked by many due to that sweet nostalgic lens - which I understand. This game has very heavy, VERY heavy reliance on rubber banding, be it me overthinking at all times what the enemy ai is doing, but I see them transparently, this game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Perfect brawler racing game, the best progression FlatOut series have seen so far. Absolutely recommended for any racing game fan - arcade, simulation, vehicular combat, virtually anyone! What is cool -Outstanding crashes, the best I have ever seen in a video game -Excellent driving model, combining fast arcade accessibility with great physics model and some nice simulation touches (especially on RWD cars) -Constantly challenging, due to smart catch up and distinct AI personalities (mostly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is cult classic. One of the best racing games ever produced. Addictive gameplay loop with amazing car handling and destruction model.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Legit just the most solid racing-derby hybrid game made so far. As a bonus on top of the game that already still holds up awesomely in mechanics and graphics. It supplies a Wonderful hit of 2000's nostalgia with it's radio and overall look and feel.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the most entertaining racing games i have ever played, the car wrecks, the completely absurd crashes and the scenery crumbling all around make every race so much more fun, as well as the standard races, there’s also a demolition derby and loads of minigames that are absolutely insane, it soundtrack really suits the game too, and its hard not to get excited when a race starts, its a game from 2006 that has aged very well and remains fun to this day.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great music and feeling while driving, but who had the great idea to give the STREET class dirt maps as finale?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →5/5 game. Interesting tracks, cars feel very different from each other, AI opponents are memorable, great physics & banger soundtrack. Did I forget something? Probably, but one can easily see this game was made with passion.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best arcade racing games EVER. + Great music, if you like 2000's rock + good arcade damage system (the damage is mostly cosmetic until the last ~30%, where you can lose a wheel) + good bots (Benton is a meme for a reason, you will Martines with Canyon too xD) + funny minigames (using driver as a projectile in bowling, curling, football, soccer etc). also hot seat mod for minigames + cars divercity (they are not licensed, but you can find and separate them into…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Achievements and some fixes/QoL added to one of the best racing classics. Gives a good reason to go back and replay through the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →4. FlatOut 2 playing this was like experiencing a fragment of my past that never existed. i could see myself, age ten, renting this from blockbuster and sitting in front of the old TV in the den, bopping my head to Audioslave and trying to master these courses. an oddly joyful and nourishing game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best game if you want to race but also fight the urge of smashing your opponents skulls into a wall. Would recommend, very relaxing game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I very much recommend this game but it has some cons for me: - Bad handling and I play with an XBOX series X controller. It's like the car is barely responsive. Like the wheels don't turn all the way EDIT: after upgrading the handling and even purchasing the weight reduction upgrade it feels slightly better, but it still feels like the wheels don't turn all the way. - The races don't feel satisfying because the cars feel slow and the handling doesn't help either. EDIT: Derby class cars felt a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10/10 certified classic in addition to workshop, multiplayer and Linux support. Worth experiencing this masterpiece again if you played it before. Physics make this game a bit tough but its fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Phenomenal racing game. Superb physics, vehicle damage, weighty and satisfying car handling, both dirt & street racing, career mode and absolutely GODLIKE soundtrack. Also you can get this for like 2€ on a sale. 💯 Recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →FlatOut 2 makes the original look like a prototype; i.e. this one is better in almost every aspect, except for the Ridiculous Rubber Banding AI — only passable with Leaderboards, but n0pe, nothing encourages the player to stay 1st, but to stay behind and just wreck in the Race and Street Race class as well, besides in Derby ... Above all, this one is exhilaratingly fast-paced, and I often had this feeling I was driving a Koenigsegg CCR or Pagani Zonda R — to mention but a few — while, when…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The tracks have become wider, the cars heavier, and because of this, it has become much easier to navigate turns. There is no feeling that any cardboard box will send your car flying into the sky. The music is great, as usual, but the graphics have become very bright and colorful. Also, the tracks are all familiar, and now I understand where TrailOut got its idea from, which makes me hate TrailOut a little bit more. They made a good game, but they cluttered it up with some incomprehensible…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i played through this once a week as a kid, one of the best Soundtracks that ever existed which i still listen to as a playlist to this day. Replayed it once on steam and gotta say its still just a lot of fun. Just buy this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun, runs on my potato pc. Ruined racing games for me, nothing hits quite the same
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So many racing games made, yet still nothing ever came close to the FlatOut 2 & Ultimate Carnage, there simply has not been a better racing game yet
unlabelledView post →holy rubber bending. also developers - ♥♥♥♥ you for popularizing fino-ugric-mongolian localization while russians kill and rape children in ukraine
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →bit more arcady than first game, but micro lags on modern systems.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This legendary game tossed me back to my childhood, I was 6 and it was my first PC experience suddenly started by launching flatout 2 and has eventually instilled a passion for Rock/Punk Rock/Emo music It felt like unrepetable vibe of gaming formation to become a massive industry
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →uhhh... Bush - The People That We Love (NFS Hot Pursuit 2 (probably the best track off that ost, but I like grunge so im biased)) Zebrahead - Lobotomy for Dummies (FlatOut 2) Me My Head - White Lights (Test Drive Unlimited 2 (the only remotely bearable track the rock station plays in that game))
unlabelledView post →The game is speedy, thrilling and has a lot of variety in terms of car gameplay and race tracks. Also, if you're looking for console session in form of split-screen local multiplayer, you can download a free mod to this game from Steam that makes the ps2 and Xbox experience come directly to your modern PC monitor.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Please read (6/10) A massive improvement over the first game, and surprisingly one of the most fun racing games I’ve played in a while. I came into FlatOut 2 with absolutely no nostalgia for the series. I’d never played these games growing up, so I’m judging it entirely on how it feels to play today. After giving FlatOut 1 a 4/10, I honestly wasn’t expecting FlatOut 2 to win me over as much as it has. The biggest improvement for me is the handling. The cars actually feel fun to drive now.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It’s a legend; even though there are some minor technical flaws, the fact that the game runs on an open-source engine—and that no idiot at EA thought to block Linux users—only commands further respect for the game and those who continue to support it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great upgrade from the first one. But it needs a patch to set it up properly to 16:9 because now it is stretched.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →AWE-SOME! The game came out 20 years ago, but to this day it is still very freakin' fun! Vaseline lens bloom can date the game generation quite precisely, and the soundtrack is the product of the generation. But the gameplay does not feel dated in the slightest. Catch-up algorithm is very competent, you are never bored. Tracks are very conducive to insane speed crashes with long straights and tight curves where one can easily lose some speed and get T-boned to oblivion. Cars are handling very…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →FlatOut 2 is a pure shot of adrenaline, featuring the best destruction physics of its era and a playlist that defined my entire childhood. If you want to experience peak 2000s racing with the most banger rock songs — featuring legends like Audioslave — this is an absolute must-play. It’s the perfect blend of total chaos and a soundtrack that still slaps after all these years.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another nostalgia bomb. It’s worth giving a “labor of love” mention here, since a game originally released in 2006 is still being updated and had achievements added. This one has aged far more gracefully than the first entry. I mentioned in my review of the original that it felt more like a concept experiment that eventually led to this sequel and looking at it now, the fact that there was only a single year between the releases is absolutely insane. FlatOut 2 learns from almost all of the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's funny that games like NFS Most Wanted 2005 get some criticism for their yellow 'piss' filter... and yet, one game I rarely seen mentioned despite being the worst offender is FlatOut 2. You can TASTE the piss filter in this game.
unlabelledView post →I love losing first place on last lap 2 meters away from finish! this game is so funny! edit: desided to give it another chance and remembered why i ininstalled this piece of software in first place. BTW, dear Bugbear, irl dirt tracks are not covered in oil.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →oh-ho-ho yeah, Flatout 2 is a 2006 game alright.
